Do Your Worst,I've Heard All The Brokeback Cracks
A camera pans in on a roughly set up athletic rehab area in what appears to be an old slaughterhouse, which is dimly lit and lightly smoke and steam filled. Sitting in a old repurposed scalding tub, filled to the brim with simmering water and surrounded by bright white coals, Owens still looks rough, even after over a week of rehab from his match with Agustin Gates. His skin is a deep purple in many spots and visible just healed over lacerations cover his body. His left eye is still bloodshot from the numerous rakes it took. But his gaze is intense and purposeful as he looks and begins to speak.

I want tell you a story about a bull my dad had when I was young. He was a very big and strong bull, a fine specimen and great example of a good breeder. But he had an attitude problem; constantly trying to intimidate and cowl the other bulls and cows, brandishing his horns and bellowing in an attempt to cower the herd. That bull pushed and pushed, trying to scare and claim his dominance. Then one day he turned his bad tempered way towards my father. A terrible mistake. My father cornered that bull and turned him into a steer. What a waste. A strong, well made, wonderful bull that though he was the most dominate bull around though he was untouchable. Undefeatable. He was proven wrong. He became a steer; was broken down into a lesser thing, a shell of his former self.

Owens stands up and grabs a towel, wrapping it around his waist. Seeing his stomach and chest much clearer, you can still distinguish handprints from Gates on his chest and near black bruises from his waist to nearly the tops of his abdominals. As he steps out the tub, he winces and groans. Even with the rehab he still not feeling his best. He is still riding out the pain and strain from his tumble with Agustin.

Mercer; I have no problem with you. You are a fine specimen, a bright and powerful competitor here in the PRW. You have the look, the mindset and the drive to be a champion. You have a wonderful adviser in Don Pecker. Yet you fall short again and again. You had chances in your 10 months here that many could only dream of. Yet you wavered at every big push, dropped the ball, stumbled at the grasping of the brass ring. And what have done every time? Licked your wounds then picked yourself up and bellow and bared your horns. You tried to let everyone know you are the baddest bull around. Here is the thing: the baddest bulls do not need to bellow to show dominance. They just do it. And bellowing bulls eventually become cowering and sniveling steers. So bellow all you want about how people are afraid of you. Of how you are beatable but not defeatable.Of how you are going to usher in the future here. Because we all know those things. And besides; the future is already here. And the One Man Cattle Guard is going to be part of it; no steers need apply.

Breathing deep and cracking open a beer; Owens sits in a big hide covered chair and rests his still wearied shoulders.

Oh and Mercer, if really want some of me then you are going to get some of me, soon and with focused purpose. Till then enjoy your manhood. Because I am going to come to take it and show what a real bull can do.
