Does anyone know how to take a single bladed hilt, add another blade that generates from the same point as blade 1. In effect it would still look like 1 blade but be set to 2 in the sab file. The trick is getting them to appear in the same place. I don't know if this requires certain sab coding or if it's something model based. Can someone produce this? If so, how? Thanks. |

I know that if you edit any custom hilts you have, open them up with packscape; ext_data; Sabers; <hilt name>.sab; Open the .sab file in notepad and something similar to this should appear:
You want to make a SMALL change to this here:
Somehow people still manage to mess this up so pay close attention. This will only work so long as the base hilts are uploaded to a server: single_1 single_2 single_3 single_4 single_5 single_6 single_7 single_8 single_9 dual_1 dual_2 dual_3 dual_4 dual_5 If the blade you are attempting to edit is a single hilt it should have SABER_SINGLE in which case you use the single_<number> for the replacement, you change it like so: BEFORE:
AFTER:
For Staff's they will have SABER_STAFF in them, inwhich chase you want to change the name: e.g. Maul_staff_saber to dual_1-5 save the .sab, boot up JKA and you can now use any weapon you desire on any server (Providing base hilts are on the server) and when you scroll to the saber you renamed it as, say single_1 it will be down as arbiter on the saber list ingame if you check arbiter, it should be the hilt you wanted. To undo this (providing you don't fuck up) simply re-edit the .sab file and replace it with it's original name or a different one (I suggest saving it's original name or writing it down incase) WARNING if you replace a single saber with a custom staff saber or vice versa it's likely you could break the game into thinking a staff saber has single moves and even removing the mod may not fix it, be careful when replacing any saber and make sure they are of the same type. Good Luck, hope that helps. |

We know how to edit sab files and do quite a bit with them. The problem is how they react with FM3. I need someone who can produce, test and send me a saber that has 2 blades but looks like one. Either the 2nd blade being short and invisible or the 2nd blade spawning from he same exact point as the first. This way we have a 2 bladed saber that looks like a single. Again, it needs to be tested with FM3 if you think you have a solution. Thx. |
