Recomended Songs: Three from each~ <3 IMOGEN HEAP: Speeding Cars, Loose Ends, Angry Angel FROU FROU: Holding Out for A Hero, Let Go, Breath In Annnddd I would add another band, but the one I want to put down I have only one song from (for now), sooo... I suppose I should put a few down... Band name: Boards of Canada Genre: Electronica, Ambient, Other Notes/comments: Really, really different. No singing, just insturmental. Also, if you'd seen Salad Fingers, their music is used in that. http://youtube.com/watch?v=A2zKARkpDW4 Band name: Clannad Genre: Celtic, Folk Notes/comments: Augh... like Dead Can Dance, or any other kind of celtic music, really... then you'll like them. Also, they're the people who made Enya famous. She was in their band before she got up and left. One of their songs is also the inspiration for an entire organization in one of my books. http://youtube.com/watch?v=sUiu-JztpKE Band name: Dead Can Dance Genre: Celtic, Ethereal Wave, Dream pop, World, Darkwave, New Age/Ethnic Fusion Notes/comments: This is actually the main band's music we use for our Pagan rituals... so, uh, yeah. The female counter-part singer, Lisa Gerard, did music for a lot of movies in this band. Namebly, Gladiator, Lord of the Rings, and Alexander. Probably my third favorite band, here. http://youtube.com/watch?v=LtNFQ7RJbaQ |

Band name: Kaiser Chiefs Genre: Alternative rock.... ish Notes/comments: This band is pretty awesome, they're a little reminiscent of Franz Ferdinand, but only a little. They truly are what one could call unique. A few videos of theirs: Everything Is Average Nowadays I Predict a Riot: International Version - this one is my particular favorite, and the song that got me interested in the band in the first place Oh My God |

Band name: The Doors Genre: Psychedelic/Blues Rock Notes/Comments: This is the favorite band of the person who started this thread, so I'm surprised that she didn't mention it. Jim Morrison had such a beautifully haunting and hypnotic voice. I recommend the album "Morrison Hotel". Band name: Jefferson Airplane Genre: Psychedelic Rock Notes/Comments: asdfjlk; I LOVE THIS BAND. Rest of this description delorted due to epic failure. Regardless, I recommend the album "After Bathing at Baxter's." |

Okay, so these are all bands that I personally know, so they're not really at a top professional level of popularity, but hey, it doesn't hurt to listen, they're still awesome. Band name: Matt Mills Genre: Worship/Christian Rock Notes/comments: He's my worship leader from Liberty Church in Pensacola. Really great singer and worship leader. Matt Mills Myspace Band name: Jon Owens Genre: Worship/Gospel Notes/comments: He's my worship leader at Every Nation Tallahassee, and I'm honored to back him up on the keys on Sundays. Awesome. Jon Owens Myspace Band name: BAYLEN Genre: Acoustic/Surf Notes/comments: This band is made up of two people I know from my church in Pensacola. It's really sweet, interesting music: soothing. Baylen Myspace Band name: Liquid Bullfraug Genre: Blues/Rock/Jam Band Notes/comments: I know a couple of these guys from back in high school. I recommend the song WAR PROTESTER. Myspace |

Band name: Army Of The Pharaohs Genre: Rap/Hip-Hop Notes/comments: It's a collaboration project by a group of underground East Coast MCs, I've shared it with people who listen to a lot of crap like 50 cent and eminem- they can't handle it because they're too used to their watered down MTV genre. I have a very strong distaste for the genre as a whole, but this group has some really entertaining beats, and very hardcore lyrics (this is probably why I enjoy them honestly... nothing better for owning in games like Soldier Front). It isn't kids music. Army of the Pharaohs - Swords Drawn |

Band: Queens of the Stone Age Genre: Alternative, Punk, Inventors of "Stoner/Robot Rock." Song Recommendations: No One Knows, Little Sister, The Lost Art of Keeping a Secret. Band: Lost Prophets Genre: Alternative, Punk, Pop Punk Song Recommendations: Town Called Hypocrisy, Shinobi Vs. Dragon Ninja, Last Train Home, Burn Burn. Band: America Genre: I dunno. Oldies? Hippie? Song Recommendations: Ventura Highway, Sister Goldenhair. Band: Cascada Genre: Techno/Pop Song Recommendations: Bad Boy, Every Time We Touch. Notes: This band is good, but it's so... girly. Every time I listen to this I can only take it for ten minutes before I need to go like, break bricks with my forehead, or break a wall down, or start a fight just to prove my MANLINESS. Band: Narnia Genre: Christian Metal Song Recommendations: Man From Nazareth, People of the Bloodred Cross. Notes: You can find one of their albums (the one the song recommendations came from) here. Band: Counting Crows Genre: Alternative? Song Recommendations: Mrs. Potter's Lullabye, Mr. Jones, Big Yellow Taxi. Notes: They had a song on Shrek 2 called accidentally in love. DO NOT EXPECT THIS SORT OF SONG FROM THEM. He wrote that because they asked him to. Most of his stuff is depressing, honestly. Although Mrs. Potter's Lullabye is kinda upbeat. Band: Ben Folds/Five Genre: Punk Rock for Sissies. Song Recommendations: One Angry Dwarf and 200 Solemn Faces (Warning: Language), Not the Same, Jackson Cannery. Notes: He originally started a band called Ben Folds Five, which was a joke because there were only three members. He plays piano, and his bandmates had drums and bass, with no guitarist. Basically, they stuck to a medium-speed style with some really fast piano occasionally. The band broke up, and he's kept the same style, but he does it all himself. Band: Blacktop Manhattan Genre: Alternative, Punk. Song Recommendations: Honestly, the only song I know of theirs is called "Hollywise." You can find it here. Band: Sugarland Genre: Country/Pop Song Recommendations: Stay, Everyday America, County Line. Band: Killswitch Engage Genre: Metal/Rock Song Recommendations: The End of Heartache, World Ablaze, Holy Diver. Notes: This is my FAVORITE band. Artist: Dierks Bentley Genre: Country Song Recommendations: Settle for a Slowdown, Free and Easy (Down the Road I Go), What Was I Thinkin'. Artist: Blake Shelton Genre: Country Song Recommendations: The More I Drink (The More I Drink) Artist: Machinae Supremacy Genre: SID Metal Song Recommendations: Sidstyler (Language Warning), Anthem Apoacalyptica, Cryosleep (They have this one in flippin' DDR!), Loot Burn Rape Kill Repeat. You can find most of their songs on their website here. Band: Dragonforce Genre: Metal, metal, moar metal. Song Recommendations: Fury of the Storm, Operation Ground and Pound, My Spirit Will Go On. Band: Manowar Genre: Metal Song Recommendations: King of Kings, Kings of Metal. Notes: Literally the loudest band in the world as recorded by Guinness world records. Band: The Ataris Genre: Punk Song Recommendations: My So Called Life, So Long Astoria, Looking Back On Today. Notes: How many freaking girlfriends has this guy HAD?!! I can think of at least six separate songs about girls by this band. Artist: Rick Astley Genre: Pop Song Recommendations: His best song can be found here. ![]() Arist: Daisuke Ishiwatari Genre: Metal, Rock Song Recommendations: Pride and Glory, Momentary Life, Haven't You Got Eyes in Your Head?. Notes: He is a composer/designer who created the Guilty Gear series. All of these songs are from there. --- Phew. I have some pretty freakin' diverse tastes. Oh, and sorry to anybody who fell for the rick roll, but come on. I just had to do it.

Band name: Hollywood Undead Genre: ...uh.... Not so easily described. They're the kind of mess you get when you throw a bunch of scene/hardcore fans and a rapper into the same song. Notes/comments: Musically talented? not so much. Easy to listen to? very much. My Black Dahlia No. 5 Circles |

 I just heard BFMV's new album, and a few of the songs are just awesome! Check it out: Bullet for my Valentine - UG Profile My two favorite tracks so far are "Forever and Always" and "Say Goodnight." And as far as their genre goes, they used to be metalcore, but as of this album, they're just metal. |
