Zomg... Okay, so I wrote this before you called me name to be perpared. I don't know if I'm all that good, because I'm not good with what people do on stage. Usopp didn't move much. Heh. But, I uploaded the song, which is called No Lies, Just Love. Yesu, I changed some of the lyrics, such as a name, and I took out two lines. I'm a little worried it's too sad for Usopp, but it was the only song that fit him in my eyes. The rest is pure. And here you go. ~^~^~^~^~ Usopp heard his name being called, and the cool exterior he had been able to show suddenly burst and the pent up nervousness all poured out like a storm. Glancing at all had already gone, seeing them not really panicked, he stepped out on the stage, fidgeting. Concentrate, Usopp! He took a deep breath, and the piano in the music started. He pictured himself in his tree, singing to himself. It was a easy way to forget that there were people who were going to judge him... The keyboard started just as his voice lit up, "It was in the march of the winter, I turned 17. And I bought those pills, I thought I would need. And I wrote a letter to my family..." His voice rised from the low pitch it held, "Said it's not your fault, You've been good to me. Just lately I've been feeling Like I don't belong." He continued, sadness seemed to be emitting strongly in his voice, gesturing to the ground slightly, "Like the ground is not mine to walk upon. And I've heard that music Echo through the house Where my grandmother drank By herself..." His voice seemed to renew on the next line as he looked up at nothing, really, but lowered through the next two, "And I sat watching a flower As it was withering. I was embarrased by it's honesty. So I'd prefer to be remembered as a smiling face Not this fucking wreck That's taken it's place" He paused, the music going on, before it got louder, and his voice got stronger, with more confiction. He was getting lost in the music, not really gesturing wildly, but sort of stomping his foot lightly on the stage ground, "So please forgive what I have done. No, you can't stay mad at the setting sun. 'Cause we all get tired, I mean eventually. And there's nothing left to do but sleep." He paused again, letting the music elevate slowly. Then he started again as he had in the beginning, only with the first word said loud and strongly, "But spring came bearing sunlight. Those persuasive rays. So I gave myself a few more days. My salvation it came, quite suddenly, When Kaya spoke very plainly He said, "Of course it's your decision, But just so you know, If you decide to leave, Soon I will follow." The music rose suddenly, and took on a melody that seemed to emit a sad smile of an expression. Then suddenly the music almost disappeared, "I wrote this for a baby, Who has yet to be born. I hope that womb's not too warm. Cause it's cold out here, And it'll be quite a shock. To breathe this air To discover loss." A small pause... then, "So I'd like to make some changes Before you arrive. So when your new eyes meet mine They won't see no lies..." Then, with his next sentence, his voice blended with the music and it seemed like everything that was depressed and sad in the song was cured. So once again is sounded, loudly, and so much more full of... "Just love. Just love. I will be pure, No, no, I know I will be pure. Like snow, like gold Like snow, like gold..." And suddenly the tree was gone. The misted look in his eyes was gone, and he back to starring at the judges before him. And then suddenly, the nervousness struck again. And he started thinking for an excuse, something to say (Not a lie, of course!), in case they hated the performance. |

Digi sat there in silence for a moment, leaning on the back legs of her chair. Finally, after a few seconds ticked by, she spoke. "Cheer up, emo kid!" She said with a small laugh. "Right, now that that's out of the way...it was a bit overly angsty for you...kind of like reading one of those bad suicide fics that are well written, but still OOC. Those make me sad, yes they do. Right, so it was a bit overly angsty, but other than that it was very nice. I give you a 7.5." |

Chibi quirked an eyebrow and glanced over towards the other judges. "No fighting this time? That's a first," she murmered, bright smile thick on her face. She turned back to the stage, leaning forward, resting her elbows on the table. "I have to agree with Digi on this that it may not have been the best song choice, but I think you did feel it, and that's important. A little static, though. I think that song could have afforded a bit more movement across the stage. I did like the performance, though. Right from the heart, if it was from the, erm, "emo" part of it," she concluded, risking a glance towards the British Digi before chuckling warmly and leaning back again. "8.5." |
