Um, so, since the music page is looking somewhat neglected, anyone like broadway musicals? My family practically raised me on Rogers and Hammerstein, though I can’t say I’m particularly fond of any of that anymore, though I don’t necessarily dislike it. My all-time favorite musical is RENT (the movie just came out recently, and I thought it was rather well done). It’s really nifty how they managed to use all the different “modern” styles of music is something like RENT. Besides, the storyline is beautiful, yet hilarious at the same time. Les Miserables is a close second, followed by Phantom of the Opera and then by Cabaret. Other musicals I like would be: Spamalot, Wicked, Chicago and West Side Story. Anyone else? Anyone have any suggestions? |

I liked Moulin Rouge a lot. Then I was disappointed when I found out that almost all of the songs were actually just like, radio songs put together in medleys. Then, later, when i started having to arrange stuff in music class, I started having a lot more respect for the people who arranged the medleys. Now I still love it, but am kind iof sick of it seeing as I;ve seen it like, hundreds of times. |

This one time, at band camp... The unicorns are riding high Powerful in coats of white I turn to look but burn my eyes I carry on, I carry... The vampires are growing tired The coats of white all turn to red My heart burns with desire I carry on, I carry on... | |

Even if the things from Moulin Rouge were regurgitated, I thought it was kind of cool to introduce older songs in ways that younger people would like them. ...and you're right, arrangements are not easy. |

But that's a huge part of the fun of Moulin Rouge! That's one of my favourites, along with The Pirates of Penzance, Cats, Phantom of the Opera, Evita, Sunset Boulevard and Les Miserables. Also, the musical episodes of Lexx and Buffy... |

Meh. I'm not much for musicals but I have seen a few that I like. This year for the school musical they did Beauty ad the Beast. Oh my gosh it was SO good for a cheap school musical. Infact I saw it twice. ^_____^ ... *Remebers Steve and his shinny pants* .... o_____o .... Sorry. I've also seen Cats, but it was a rented DVD. Blah. That's all I can remember right now. -__________- *falls asleep* |

Ah, I totally forgot! But of course! Well, it's an off-off-off broadway musical, but it is a musical and it is amazing. (our state college did an amazing production of it) |

Yeah, RHPS! Why didn't I think of that? And Shock Treatment. (I don't know if it's ever been on stage, but if Moulin Rouge counts...) |

I saw a few Broadway thingies on the Disney Cruise, does that count? o_O Hercules amused me greatly. But the best musical ever? One Piece: The Musical! The best song in is, without a doubt, Zoro's Lament (Kuina, Why'd You Have To Fall Down Those Stairs?). |

Uh, yeah... I love the idea, but the actual fic seems annoyingly HMS Pinafore-ish to me... Still, that song is... well, bizarre. But I guess that's the point... and it's definitely the best song. |

The only musical I have ever seen preformed on stage would be The Phantom of the Opera which I love. On the TV I enjoyed Chicogo, Little Shop of Horros, Rocky Horror Picture Show, Hedwig and the Angery Inch (not sure if thoes two count but they where both great), and Moulin Rouge (i loved being able to sing along with almost all the songs the first time i saw it.) I also saw half of The Sound of Music and Fiddler on the Roof. i started to watch The Sound of Music at a Babysiting job but the parents came home before i finished it. And my little sister, Laura, borrowed Fidler on the Roof from the library and Laura, my mom, and I all sat down to watch it. We got half way through and it was midnight so we decided to watch the second half the next day. Laura and mom watched it without me and then returned it so i have to get it back out and finish it one of these days. |

I'm a fan of musicals. I usually go and see them with my mom. My favorites are Cats, Jesus Christ Super Star, and the Phatom of the Opera. |

Hells yeah! Kanthia loved One Piece: The Musical ^-^; Especially "The Spoiler Song" and "The Truth of it Is". Kanthia's favourite musicals are probably Mamma Mia! and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. But her parents are making little hints about the family going to see The Lord of the Rings Musical, and she is very very very excited. ~Kanthia |

Mm, I mostly only get to know them from the soundtracks and the movies, because the stage shows almost never come to my town, and I can't get anywhere else to see them. The ones I have actually seen on stage are Godspell, the Little Shop of Horrors (which was a school production, and not nearly as good as the movie), Man of Steel (also a school production, and not as good as the version I was in the same year), the Wiz (again, a school production), and the Pirates of Penzance. The last being a professional production, and utterly suge. Jon English makes the, um, second best Pirate King ever! (I was gonna say best, but that would be Luffy...) And I've been in Fame, Man of Steel, and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat. |
