We got a little off topic, but I had an ex-favorite song.

It's called "No one knows" from Queens of the Stone Age. I don't know all the words so I'll put the first few.

We get these rules to follow
That and this, these and those

No one knows

We get these pills to swallow
How they stick, in your mouth

Taste like gold

That seems to be all I can remember for now. The rest of the words aren't that clear. I know all of the words to this song though. It's called "Planet Hell" by Nightwish <-a band from Finland(that means they're "Finnish", right?).

Denying the lying
A million children fighting
For lives in strife
For hope beyond the horizon

A dead world
A dark path
Not even crossroads to choose from!
All the bloodred carpets before me
Behold this fair creation of God!

My only wish to leave behind
All my days on the earth
The everyday hell of my
kingdom come!

The first rock, thrown again
Welcome to hell, little saint!
Mother Gaia in slaughter
Welcome to paradise, soldier!

Save yourself a penny for the ferryman!
Save yourself and let them suffer!
In hope
In love
This world ain't ready for the Ark

Save yourself a penny for the ferryman!
Save yourself and let them suffer!
In hope
In love
Mankind works in mysterious ways

p.s. I know the song sounds very violent, but it's the truth in some ways, but not all ways. There is good in the world, this band just doesn't sing about it.

My CURRENT favourite song (Which changes every couple weeks... or days... or hours... but this one's been there since...a week ago!) is Fuel by Ani Difranco. Well, it's not really a song per say (where'd that phrase come from anyways?), but it's spoken word and is on a cd, so it's considered as such.

They were digging a new foudation in Manhattan
And they discovered a slave cemetary there
May their souls rest easy
Now that lynching is frowned upon
And we've moved on to the electric chair
And I wonder who's gonna be president, tweedle dum or tweedle dummer?
And who's gonna have the big blockbuster box office this summer?
How about we put up a wall between houses and the highway
And you can go your way, and I can go my may

Except all the radios agree with all the tvs
And all the magazines agree with all the radios
And I keep hearing that same damn song everywhere I go
Maybe I should put a bucket over my head
And a marshmallow in each ear
And stumble around for
Another dumb-numb waiting for another hit song to appear

People used to make records
As in a record of an event
The event of people playing music in a room
Now everything is cross-marketing
Its about sunglasses and shoes
Or guns and drugs
You choose
We got it rehashed
We got it half-assed
We're digging up all the graves
And we're spitting on the past
And you can choose between the colors
Of the lipstick on the whores
Cause we know the difference between
The font of 20% more
And the font of teriakiyi
You tell me
How does it... make you feel?

You tell me
What's ... real?
And they say that alcoholics are always alcoholics
Even when they're as dry as my lips for years
Even when they're stranded on a small desert island
With no place within 2,000 miles to buy beer
And I wonder
Is he different?
Is he different?
Has he changed? what's he about?..
Or is he just a liar with nothing to lie about?

Am I headed for the same brick wall
Is there anything I can do about
Anything at all?
Except go back to that corner in Manhattan
And dig deeper, dig deeper this time
Down beneath the impossible pain of our history
Beneath unknown bones
Beneath the bedrock of the mystery
Beneath the sewage systems and the PATH train
Beneath the cobblestones and the water mains
Beneath the traffic of friendships and street deals
Beneath the screeching of kamikaze cab wheels
Beneath everything I can think of to think about
Beneath it all, beneath all get out
Beneath the good and the kind and the stupid and the cruel
There's a fire just waiting for fuel

There's a fire just waiting for fuel [x13]
This one time, at band camp...

The unicorns are riding high
Powerful in coats of white
I turn to look but burn my eyes
I carry on, I carry...

The vampires are growing tired
The coats of white all turn to red
My heart burns with desire
I carry on, I carry on...

Wahh i just noticed i have failed to post any Jump Little Children so here you go two of my favorite songs of theirs
and since they are a small band and i now have putfile i will put the song up too so you can hear. (i might go back and do this for some of the other songs i have posted too).

Cathedrals
Listen

In the shadows of tall buildings
Of fallen angels on the ceilings
Oily feathers in bronze and concrete
Faded colors, pieces left incomplete
The line moves slowly past the electric fence
Across the borders between continents

In the cathedrals of New York and Rome
There is a feeling that you should just go home
And spend a lifetime finding out just where that is

In the shadows of tall buildings
The architecture is slowly peeling
Marble statues and glass dividers
Someone is watching all of the outsiders
The line moves slowly through the numbered gate
Past the mosaic of the head of state

In the cathedrals of New York and Rome
There is a feeling that you should just go home
And spend a lifetime finding out just where that is

In the shadows of tall buildings
Of open arches endlessly kneeling
Sonic landscapes echoing vistas
Someone is listening from a safe distance
The line moves slowly into a fading light
A final moment in the dead of night

In the cathedrals of New York and Rome
There is a feeling that you should just go home
And spend a lifetime finding out just where that is

15 Stories
listen (ignore the title putfile is being stupid)

He was seen on the 15th floor
Straight up and straight down
He seemed to lean into the wind
And scream like an old bloodhound

Two more inches will do it
Midnight to midday
There was always a crowd
Traffic jam and someone to pray

Heaven above hold him back
Hold out and hold on
He would say to himself
I'll be bigger than life when I'm gone

He's a legend unto himself
A legend unto himself
A legend unto himself
A legend unto himself
There's nothing between him and the pavement
And there's nothing between him or anyone else

Everyday he would try
Two feet up, two feet down
Fifteen stories high
Became old familiar ground

Nice view of the river today
Sunrise and sunset
A lady screamed on the street below
He wished he hadn't noticed just yet

Kinda peaceful up here all alone
Hang outing around
Til everyone comes to see
Again they'll all be let down

He's a legend unto himself
A legend unto himself
A legend unto himself
A legend unto himself
There's nothing between him and the pavement
And there's nothing between him or anyone else

He leaned out far today
Too far, too close
He closed his eyes and he felt the wind
He could hear the silence of the crowd almost

15 stories is quite a tall tale
Straight up and straight down
The crowd disappeared and the traffic returned
The legend spread quickly through town
He became a legend unto himself

A legend unto himself
A legend unto himself
A legend unto himself
A legend unto himself
A legend unto himself
A legend unto himself
A legend unto himself
A legend unto himself

Ah, Kanthia has fallen in love with the song Into the West by Annie Lennox, the ending from Return of the King that won an Oscar for best song or something. Squee.

Lay down
Your sweet and weary head
Night is falling
You’ve come to journey's end
Sleep now
And dream of the ones who came before
They are calling
From across the distant shore

Why do you weep?
What are these tears upon your face?
Soon you will see
All of your fears will pass away
Safe in my arms
You're only sleeping

What can you see
On the horizon?
Why do the white gulls call?
Across the sea
A pale moon rises
The ships have come to carry you home

And all will turn
To silver glass
A light on the water
All souls pass

Hope fades
Into the world of night
Through shadows falling
Out of memory and time
Don't say we have come now to the end
White shores are calling
You and I will meet again

And you'll be here in my arms
Just sleeping

What can you see
On the horizon?
Why do the white gulls call?
Across the sea
A pale moon rises
The ships have come to carry you home

And all will turn
To silver glass
A light on the water
Grey ships pass
Into the West

Simple Plan
"Me Against The World"

We're not gonna be
Just apart of their game
We're not gonna be
Just the victims
They're taking our dreams
And they tear them apart
Til everyone's the same
I've got no place to go
I've got no where to run
They love to watch me fall
They think they know it all

I'm a nightmare, a disaster
That's what they always say
I'm a lost cause, not a hero
But I'll make it on my own
I've gotta prove them wrong
Me against the world
It's me against the world

We won't let them change
How we feel in our hearts
We're not gonna let them control us
We won't let them shove
All their thoughts in our heads
And we'll never be like them

I've got no place to go
I've got no where to run
They love to watch me fall
They think they know it all

I'm a nightmare, a disaster
That's what they always say
I'm a lost cause, not a hero
But I'll make it on my own
I'm gonna prove them wrong
It's me against the world
Me against the world

Now I'm sick of this waiting
So come on and take your shot
You can spit all your insults
But nothing you say is gonna change us
You can sit there and judge me
Say what you want to
We'll never let you in

I'm a nightmare, a disaster
That's what they always said
I'm a lost cause, not a hero
But I'll make it on my own
Me against the world

I'm a nightmare, a disaster
That's what they always said
I'm a lost cause, not a hero
But I'll make it on my own
I've got to prove them wrong
They'll never bring us down

We'll never fall in line
I'll make it on my own
Me against the world

My favorite song is a somewhat old song by Kate Bush, Wuthering Heights

Out on the wiley, windy moors
We'd roll and fall in green.
You had a temper like my jealousy:
Too hot, too greedy.
How could you leave me,
When I needed to possess you?
I hated you. I loved you, too.

Bad dreams in the night.
You told me I was going to lose the fight,
Leave behind my wuthering, wuthering
Wuthering Heights.

Heathcliff, it's me, Cathy, I've come home. I´m so cold,
let me in-a-your window.

Heathcliff, it's me, Cathy, I've come home. I´m so cold,
let me in-a-your window.

Ooh, it gets dark! It gets lonely,
On the other side from you.
I pine a lot. I find a lot
Falls through without you.
I'm coming back, love.
Cruel Heathcliff, my one dream,
My only master.

Too long I roam in the night.
I'm coming back to his side, to put it right.
I'm coming home to wuthering, wuthering,
Wuthering Heights,

Heathcliff, it's me, Cathy, I've come home. I´m so cold,
let me in-a-your window.

Ooh! Let me have it.
Let me grab your soul away.
You know it's me--Cathy!

Heathcliff, it's me, Cathy, I've come home. I´m so cold,
let me in-a-your window.

Heathcliff, it's me, Cathy, I've come home. I´m so cold!

Sometimes I skip to the end credits just to hear that song. It's beautiful.

Especially with the pictures. They have to be the best credits ever (esp. on extended edition).

I went back to see the movie again just to see the credits!

I adore that song... only problem with it is that if I try to sing along with it, the odds of me making it through the whole song without bursting into tears are very low...

It's definitely the best of the LOTR songs... even better than Aniron.
I've felt this way before. The world goes deafeningly silent. I hear my heartbeat thundering in my ears. This must truly be... the brink of death.

I hear it. The breath of his steel. A katana follows will...

All that's left... is to see if I truly have the power to cut steel.

Hai, Into the West is one of those songs that is a piece of music made to make music, not to make money. It's unbelievably beautiful. And Annie Lennox has a strange, haunting quality of her voice that is refreshingly unique and paralysingly strong.

That's the best discription I have heard of Into the West, Kanthia.

RedPirate: yea, the pictures are great and really add to the emotion of the song (not that it doesn't already have it).

Okay, not exactly favourite song, but it's hilarious.

Before you read the lyrics, please keep in mind that this is by the Arrogant Worms (Their Site is Here), a Canadian humour band. Note HUMOUR. This is not meant to be offensive, at all. They also have songs such as "My Voice is Changing" and "William Shakespeare's in my Cat", and Canada-based songs like this one, and "Canada is Really Big" and "The Mountie Song"

But yeah... here it is.

The War of 1812

Come back proud canadian's,
To before you had TV.
No hockey night in canada,
there was no CBC.

In 1812 madison was mad,
He was the president you know.
Well he thought he'd tell the british where they ought to go.
He thought he'd invade canada,
He thought that he was tough.
Instead we went to washington,
And burned down all his stuff.

And the white house burned, burned, burned.
And we're the ones that did it,
It burned, burned, burned.
While the president ran and cried,
It burned, burned, burned.
And things were very historical,
And the Americans ran and cried like a bunch of little babies WaWaWa
In the war of 1812.

Those hilbilies from kuntucky,
Dressed in green and red.
Left home to fight in canada,
But they returned home dead.
It's the only war the yankies lost except for veitnam.
And also the alomo and the bay of ham.
The looser was america,
The winner was ourselfs.
So join right in and glout about the war of 1812.

And the white house burned, burned, burned.
And we're the ones that did it,
It burned, burned, burned.
While the president ran and cried,
It burned, burned, burned.
And things were very historical,
And the Americans ran and cried like a bunch of little babies WaWaWa
In the war of 1812.

In 1812 we were just sitting around,
Minding our own business,
Putting crops into the ground.
We heard the soilders coming,
And we didn't like that sound.
So we took a boat to washington and burned it to the ground.

Oh we fired our guns but the yankies kept on a coming,
There wasn't quite as many as there was a while ago.
We fired once more and the yankies started running,
Down the mississippi to the gulf of mexico.
They ran through the snow,
And they ran through the forest,
They ran through the bushes where the beavers wouldn't go,
They ran so fast they forgot to take they're culture,
Back to america, and gulf and mexico.

So if you go to washington,
It's building clean and nice,
Bring a pack of matches,
And we'll burn the white house twice.

And the white house burned, burned, burned,
But the americans wont admit it.
It burned, burned, burned...
It burned and burned and burned
It burned, burned, burned
I bet that made them mad.
And the Americans ran and cried like a bunch of little babies WaWaWa
In the war of 1812.

Note: it is my personal belief that nobody won the War of 1812.

Also, I was just on their website, and APPARENTLY, they also wrote "I Ran Away", featured in our (almost) favourite One Piece AMV, Usopp Runs Away. Yay!
Which is why we should all love the Arrogant Worms.
This one time, at band camp...

The unicorns are riding high
Powerful in coats of white
I turn to look but burn my eyes
I carry on, I carry...

The vampires are growing tired
The coats of white all turn to red
My heart burns with desire
I carry on, I carry on...
