THE SNOW KING AND QUEEN PAGEANT[/align]<br>
<br>
<br>
[align=right]Date and Time: Saturday, Winter 7th, 09 || 10am<br>
Mood: Festive~<br>[/align]
<br>
<br>
<br>
After what must feel like ages to the great people of Ocean of Stars, the Mayor has finally opened the Snow King and Queen Pageant! As per usual, he has graciously sacrificed the use of his property for the celebrations, though unlike the previous pageants this one utilizes the inside of his estate, transforming the huge entrance hall and lobby area into a large stage and runway. Chairs are arranged in a semi-circle near the runway for those observing the competition, and there is a desk right at the front of it with three chairs for the judges: Charlie Collins, Catherine Wolfe, and Iphigeneia Teresi. Two perpetually warm thermoses of hot chocolate and coffee are available on the table along with several mugs for the courteous judges as a thank-you for offering to help with the competition.<br>
<br>
Near the back wall, there is also a table of refreshments, namely various finger foods and beverages, for those who are attending the pageant, though one can occasionally note a competitor sneaking over it to grab some food before popping back past the long red curtain at the back of the runway.<br>
<br>
The large floor-to-ceiling curtain hides three temporary stairs that lead down to a buzzing area where countless stagehands are running back and forth, here and there, EVERYWHERE, just to get this pageant off the ground with as little incident as possible. There are several sections divided up, making the most of limited space as possible, and these include several changing booths, one vanity and illuminated mirror for every contestant, a small area to practice talents, and the like. There is always a stage hand available to help the contestants set up for their talent or to carry anything necessary.<br>
<br>
The Manor itself burns with Winter spirit and is decked out to the nines with holly, mistletoe branches, garland, and even furry little patches of cotton serving as fake snow surrounding the large evergreen tree in the corner that is absolutely covered with ornaments. Several little wrapped gifts sit beneath it to put the cherry on top of the homey, Wintery appearance.<br>
<br>
The Snow King and Queen pageant will begin in moments. Who will be the victor?<br>
<br>
<hr>
<br>
<br>
The delay for the Pageant is over! There will be a timetable that we'll try to stick to in order to finish off this Pageant before Spring begins, and it shall be as follows:<br>
<br>
September 5th - 8th: Arrival Posts<br>
September 9th - 12th: Introductions/Swimsuits<br>
September 13th - 16th: Formal<br>
September 17th - 20th: Winter Fashion<br>
September 21st - 24th: Talent/Closing Remarks<br>
September 25th - 29th: Judging<br>
September 30th: Winners Announced~!<br>
<br>
This time table is subject to change.<br>
<br>
For the introductions, fill out and PM me the following (line-break-less OTL) questionnaire, yoinked from James Lipton and Bernard Pivot, as filled out by each of your characters, and I shall post them all in one or two bulk posts on the 9th, after which the swimsuit round will begin.<br>
Code:

[b]What is your name?:[/b]
[b]Give us a brief introduction into you and your life:[/b]
[b]What is your favorite word?:[/b]
[b]What is your least favorite word?:[/b]
[b]What turns you on creatively, spiritually or emotionally?:[/b]
[b]What turns you off?:[/b]
[b]What sound or noise do you love?:[/b]
[b]What sound or noise do you hate?:[/b]
[b]What profession other than your own would you like to attempt?:[/b]
[b]What profession would you not like to do?:[/b]
[b]If Heaven exists, what would you like to hear the Harvest Goddess say when you arrive at the Pearly Gates?:[/b]

<br>
There is no specific order that you have to post in. Free-for-all! Remember that if you miss your window to post for one category then you may still make a late post for it but the judges will be taking punctuality into account. I shall make a post by the Mayor transitioning into each new stage, and after that you can post your character in the new stage.<br>
<br>
Remember that this is a SNOW King and Queen Pageant, and the judges WILL be taking creativity in terms of that theme into account. Other than that, post away, and have fun!

Zeharah strode into the Mayor's home, a wonderfully sly smile on her face. A smile that had the confidence of a woman who honestly believed she already had won. Ever since she signed up that title 'Snow Queen' was hers. Who else but her was worthy of that title? She who grew up in a land of ice and snow and who could move like the wind?

Exactly.

Moving around the Mayor's home she watched with amazement at the amount of effort and volunteers that were put into the pageant. Not that she knew much about pageants to go off of, this was her first one. Zeharah hid her wonder behind a perfect mask of smiles as she walked around the stages and contestant area. It seems like she was the first to arrive.

A very tempting thought of sabotage crossed her mind. A few pulled cords, some ripped clothes or even rigged dresses to fall apart after so long. No. Zeharah took a seat at one of the lit vanities. They might as well have some shot at the prize, however dismal their chances are.

Either way. Zeharah grinned at her reflection in the mirror. This was going to be exciting.

At last, the Snow King and Queen Pageant! Sure, Korai had been giving him crap about it, but Buchi knew his brother was jealous for missing out on a chance to go out and show off in front of a large crowd. Plus, Buchi practically fitted the theme with his white hair. What a coincidence! The white haired twin couldn't help but pumped as he entered the hall where the pageant would take place.
<p>
His jawed dropped as he entered, amazed by the decorations and set up. Wow, the Mayor took everything serious, didn't he? This place looked amazing! Buchi stared at the hall in awe, slowly making his way backstage. Wow, they were would be performing here? Fantastic! It probably was too cold to have it outside anyway, especially with the swimsuit round. Though, why they would have a swimsuit competition in winter was beyond him!
<p>
Hopefully...just hopefully Korai would drop by late to keep up his end of the deal. Being a target for soccer had better be worth it!

<br><br>
"Divine, girl, you need to chilax man! It's just a little competition" Jay tried to reassure her, tugging along her extra suitcase. But Divine couldn't relax, not one bit! She didn't know why she signed up for this, thought it was stupid. Yet, she did anyway for some crazy reason. At least she would have the help of the guys. Karma would come by later and do her hair, and then he and the others would be her back-ups for the talent portion.
<p>
Thank god Jay came with her now. If it wasn't for him, Divine probably would have bailed, locking herself in her room for all of eternity. It was just like him, being there for her whenever Lyzander couldn't. Just another example of classic Jay. Plus, he was carrying some of her stuff, so that was a plus.
<p>
"I know, I know. I can't help it, I always get nervous about this. Remember me at the school talent show?"
<p>
"Yes, I do. And you sounded amazing. You did a wonderful job last time, and you'll do an even better job today"
<p>
"......God, you're so optimistic"
<p>
"Someone has to be" Jay replied, grinning. Divine simply shot him a glare as they went backstage. They dumped her cases on a bench, and Divine could only wonder where the other contestants were. There were only two so far, another haired guy, and some blonde chick admiring her in the mirror.
<p>
The guy, Divine couldn't care less about. The girl she had to watch out for. She would be her main rival, as well as any other girls who signed up for this. It was always the blonde that the judges picked, because they were so biased like that. Fuck the judges, fuck this girl and anyone else who stood in her way. Divine Fandell was here to win. Whether she got Queen or Princess, it didn't matter.
<p>
Let the games begin, bitches.

This is the part where it gets ugly, and the solution getting rid of you. You'll never be safe in the shadows, I'll be waiting in the dark. Oh Goddess, I think I’m going to throw up…
<br><br>
Why had she thought this would be a good idea? Actually… okay, she hadn’t thought this would be a good idea. Not at all. She had even refused to sign up for this thing completely in the first place when Arthur had brought up the idea to her. Apparently, he thought it would be good for her to build up her confidence… as if parading around in front of the whole town in a bathing suit was supposed to be a confidence builder. The idea just made her want to shrivel up and die.
<br><br>
“I’ll only do it if you do it, too,” Kimberly distinctly remembered telling her friend. She’d noticed he’d been looking a little down lately and figured it was just the winter blues getting to him, so it’d probably be good for him to get out a bit, too… besides, if she was going to look like an idiot in front of the whole town today, she definitely wasn’t going to do so alone! After much bickering and arguing between themselves, they had finally given in on both sides. It was supposed to be a win-win situation, but it actually felt more like a catch twenty-two to Kimberly. She had barely set foot onto the mayor’s estate and she already wanted to tell Arthur to call the whole thing off and beg him to go home. In all honesty, she hadn’t really expected him to agree to her terms in the first place. He’d called her bluff and now she was committing social suicide. Uuuuggghhhhh…
<br><br>
She looked over at the lanky priest with a slightly sick expression on her face. “This was totally a bad idea, wasn’t it?” she groaned. “Can I pleeaaassee fake sick and go home?” she begged him. “Actually… I might not need to fake…” she admitted with a sigh, looking at the turn-out for this as she felt her stomach give another nasty lurch.
<br><br>
Goddess please let me get through this without embarrassing myself… please… Who was she kidding? She was Kimberly Swanson; the most notorious screw-up to ever curse the Earth with her uselessness. Of course she was going to embarrass herself. This was starting to feel a lot like high school all over again…

Ian Fairholm<br>
<br>
Date: Saturday, Winter 7th, 09 ;; 10am<br>
Mood: Composed.<br>
TAG: OPEN.[/align]<br>
<br>

Why was he doing this again? It was something that he considered and turned over and over in his head as the day approached. He wasn't flashy. He wasn't friendly. If anything, he was a pouting old man who might begin to show his age soon, one that wouldn't appeal to the judges at all. But regardless, he had signed up for the Pageant. And why?<br>
<br>
Advertising.<br>
<br>
Fairholm Forge was losing its customers, for whatever reason, and Ian couldn't be sure if it was because of the chillier months or if the economy simply hadn't got off the ground after the hurricane. Regardless, he was watching his livelihood vanish before his eyes, and that was simply unacceptable. Thus, when he saw flyers around town for the Snow King and Queen Pageant, with advertised prize money at that, Ian's eyebrows had shot into his hairline. To be fair, he'd been slightly tipsy from an evening of drinking at the nearest bar, but he didn't hesitate when he scribbled down his name and shoved it into the entry box.<br>
<br>
He'd stumbled to the box the next morning with a splitting headache and attempted to open it to retrieve his name, of course, but...well, what could one do? He'd given up and simply accepted that he would have to make the best of this event.<br>
<br>
He felt surprisingly composed arriving here, actually, hair cleaned and body wiped free of any soot and oil. Studying the contestants that he passed on the way to the back, he knew that he cut a relatively imposing figure as compared to them, though it might be because he only saw one male at the moment and he was...rather bizarre-looking, actually. Ian supposed it must be the hair. The women were rather thoroughly blonde and predictable, except for the bizarre-looking chick with the hair over in the corner, and he couldn't quite bring himself to consider them competition anyway. They were women, after all, and this was less a competition to him than a chance to play up Fairholm Forge in all of its glory to anyone who might be there to listen.<br>
<br>
While...in a swimsuit. He rubbed the bridge of his nose with a low sigh.<Br>
<br>
He draped himself over a chair in front of a vanity and stared at himself in the mirror, eyes slightly narrowed. Well. If the world was going to see him in a swimsuit, it might as well be where he could get a hell of a lot of money and advertising for it.

William Goodrick<br>
Date: Saturday, Winter 7th, 09 || 10am<br>
Mood: Nervous.<br>
Tag: OPEN.[/align]<br><br>

If you had told William a season ago that he would be here today strutting his stuff for a pageant, he would have laughed in your face. In fact, he more than likely would have turned and run away from you in a certain degree of horror. And yet here he was, eyes wide and jittering, staring at everyone else in the back of the Estate in terror. Here he was, waiting to see if he might be crowned Snow King...man, that was a laugh, wasn't it?<br>
<br>
It was the fault of the prize money offered, actually. William was entering another year of unemployment, though he would agree with anyone who informed him that it was all his fault for not pursuing a job or holding it for more than a season. But his savings were running dangerously low this time around. He was having to buy less food than he originally expected. Books were right out. Though he appreciated the excuse to go to the library to see Irene, there was nothing worse than reading through a book and not being able to mark little notes in the margins without fear that some giant library monster would eat you for it later on.<br>
<br>
But prize money? Easy prize money, possibly just for entering a competition? Given that it seemed like a silly pageant for really manly men to enter, William took up the mantle. After all, he might already have a chance, wouldn't he?<br>
<br>
Now that he'd arrived at the pageant, he rather felt the same way. The other two guys in the back were clearly confident, muscular and fit, all of that, but...they both looked a little severe, in their own way. Imposing, maybe. William was counting on his rather nerdy demeanor to make him look more approachable, to say the least. He tugged off his glasses and cleaned them on the edge of his sweater with a sigh, eyeing his bag that he dropped beside one of the vanities. Well. The swimsuit competition was first, after the introductions. That part...was going to be awkward. Who wanted to see his pasty and pathetic body out there flaunting its stuff?<br>
<br>
Crazy people, clearly. He sat down in one of the chairs with a heavy sigh and prayed that all of the judges were slightly mentally disturbed females.

"I'm so late!" Iphigeneia ran out of her home on Sunstone Beachway and down the street. It was already 11 pm! The contest had already started and she was one of the judges! Thank goodness years of swimming and field work gave her the strength to run all the way across town. Of all the times to be late!

The mayors mansion came in sight and she slowed down to a jog, trying to catch her breath a little before rushing in, tired and sweaty. Halting outside the main doors she stood to the side for a few moments before discreetly entering the impressive house.

The pageant... hasn't started? The very first thing Iphi noticed was the suspicious lack of people. It had to be 11:30, thats what her clock said. Iphi made her way backstage and noticed that there were only a handful of contestants. Heading back into the main area she found that she was the only judge present.

Iphi took her seat on the end at the judges table and poured herself a cup of coffee. Sipping the warm, bitter drink her eyes scanned the room for the clock, and she found it on the wall behind her. It was only 10 pm.

I'm going to have to get that clock at home fixed. Iphi sighed. At least she wasn't late.

<br>
<br><br>'Well I have to admit I'm baffled.’ Professor Catherine Wolfe thought as she walked through the mayor's manor. 'What odd decorations for a conference on Vertebrate Paleontology.' It was the truth. Whoever decided to decorate the building all in white and blue was clearly out of their mind. She had thought that she was going blind until she had realized that it was simply the horrendous color palette they had decided to use. How were they supposed to focus on the speakers when they were worried about being blinded by the decorations? In any case she supposed it couldn't be helped now.
<br><br>
Come to think of it the mayor's manor was a fairly odd place to be hosting a conference on paleontology. Wouldn't the university have been a more suitable location? Probably, but she guessed if the mayor wanted to host the event who was she to stop him? She was just excited to be here at such an educational event. Hopefully she would learn a lot and be able to provide some insight if need be.
<br><br>
Besides it wasn't like she could have gotten confused. The signup sheet for those attending the conference had been clearly placed on display on the community bulletin board on campus and the instructions that she had received in the mail had led her right to this location. There was simply no way to be mistaken, this was the conference she just hadn't made it too her assigned seat yet.
<br><br>
Passing some teenagers on her right she smiled to herself. It was good to see some of the youth taking an interest in archeological science. In a few years who knew? She might have those same teenagers in class. She would have to a mental note to ask them after the conference if they would be interested in some part time work at the ruins. By the time she had made her way to the presentation hall however, she had already forgotten.
<br><br>
In the presentation hall she was actually surprised to find that a place of honor had been prepared for her, along with three other individuals, at the front of the stage. She had no clue that they were planning on placing here with the panel. She would have prepared a few words if she would have known. What an honor. This was looking to be a very good evening.
<br><br>
Taking her seat next to one of the other panelist she poured herself a cup of coffee. “Good evening.” She said politely to the woman sitting next to her. She had thought that she knew all of the area’s leading authorities on paleontology but apparently she was wrong. This woman was a mystery to her. “I’m professor Cather Wolfe from the university. I don’t believe we’ve met.”

THE SNOW KING AND QUEEN PAGEANT<br>
<br>
INTRODUCTIONS
[/align]<br>
<br>
<br>
As each of the judges and contestants arrived, the Mayor readjusted his hat and coat before smoothing down his mustache in the mirror. Once he was confident that he looked presentable, he offered his rosy cheek to his wife for a kiss before he beamed and made his way up from backstage.<br>
<br>
Once he reached the stage, the Mayor bowed to the polite applause and took the microphone that the stagehand offered him. What might not have been expected, however, was the fact that he was dressed in full Santa Claus garb, from a fake white beard and mustache to a red outfit trimmed in white fur! He tossed the pompom of his hat over his shoulder and grinned at all of those gathered. "Good morning, everyone, and welcome to the Snow King and Queen Pageant!" More polite applause, as to be expected. "We have eight lucky contestants here today competing for a number of titles, so let's not waste a second!" He waddled to the edge of the stage and swept his hand toward the judges. "They'll be judged by Iphigenia Teresi, Professor Catherine Wolfe, and, last but not least, Obsidian's very own Summer King, Charlie Collins!"<br>
<br>
With the judges' introductions completed, the Mayor signaled for the contestants to take the stage. "And heeeeere are our contestants for the festivities today! Only two of them will be crowned the Snow King and the Snow Queen. Let's begin with a questionnaire to help us get to know them better!" And then he offered the microphone to the first contestant, giving them an encouraging smile, before he began to recite the questionnaire.<br>

Give us a brief introduction into you and your life: Well, I was born in Toronto, Ontario in Canada and grew up there until I graduated from high school. <br>
<br>
What is your name?: I'm, uh, William Goodrick! Hi. Nice to meet you.<br>
Give us a brief introduction into you and your life: I...grew up here, in Ocean of Stars. Umm, I went to school, and then I went to America for college and majored in history. Did a lot of traveling, lecturing, and work with architecture all around the Middle East, and...now I'm back! Haaa...<br>

What sound or noise do you hate?: Screaming.<br>
What profession other than your own would you like to attempt?: To be a college professor of a higher level history or archaeology class, that'd be nice. The students there would actually want to learn about what I'd teach.<br>
What profession would you not like to do?: Pop diva. -chuckles- I don't think I need to say why I'd be bad at it.<br>
If Heaven exists, what would you like to hear the Harvest Goddess say when you arrive at the Pearly Gates?: "I've been waiting for you. I prepared some tea. Why don't we sit and have a chat, and then you can go reorganize the library?"<br>

The Mayor sent the contestants backstage to loud applause again and turned to the audience with a bright smile, nearly hopping in anticipation. "In celebration of a favored Ocean of Stars Winter activity, namely dozing in our natural hot springs, our next round will be our swimsuit competition!" More applause sounded as the Mayor disappeared behind the curtains, and soft crackling holiday music sounded from a nearly record player to provide a bit of background to the scene.<br>

<br>
<br>
The next round, as the Mayor said, is the Swimsuit Round, and this will last until Monday, September 12th at 11:59pm CST! There's no set rotation for the characters, so just throw them out there at any time, and if you have any questions feel free to PM me. Judges, feel free to post reactions as we go, and everyone have fun~

<br>Round: Arrival
<br>Date: Winter 7, 09 10:00 am
<br>Mood: Nervous, Frantic
<br>Tag: Open

<br>
<br><br>’Stupidstupidstupid. Why don’t I have a better sense of time when it comes to these things?’ Alison thought as she opened the door to the mayor’s manor. Swift and silent as a cat she slipped inside and looked around for backstage entrance. She could do this, she could slip in and no one would know that she had been late. At least she had her excellent skills in crowd navigation to fall back on and she hoped that they didn’t fail her now.
<br><br>
Shouldering the duffle bag she had been carrying that contained all of her things for the competition she began moving, dodging between some members of the crowd that were making their way to their seats. This wasn’t going to be easy but so long as she made it with enough to time get ready for the swimsuit portion of the competition she would be okay.
<br><br>
It only took a moment but all that time she spent traveling through big city streets returned and soon she was dancing through the crowd like it was standing still. She could only imagine what it would look like to anyone watching her as she spun and danced her way to the door that led backstage. Odds were though that she was completely unnoticed out here. After all she could have easily passed for one of the staff of the event as fast as she was moving.
<br><br>
As she reached the door she took a quick glance around the room to make sure no one was watching and then slipped inside letting the door close behind her. Leaning heavily against the door for a moment she let out a long sigh. The hard part was over. She didn't think anyone had seen her slip in as the event started. Now she just had to get ready before she was introduced and they started the first round.
<br><br>
'Alright this is where the magic happens. This is where the lowly farm girl changes herself into a beautiful winter queen.' Opening her bag she pulled out her swimsuit. She didn't have time to worry about the competition yet. She didn't have time to worry about anything the seconds were ticking away and she had to get ready. 'Super Alison time. Let's get this party started.'

Iphigeneia smiled as one of the other judges took their seat and greeted her. "Iphigeneia Teresi. It's a pleasure to meet you." And extended her hand for Catherine to shake. "I've looked around the university a few times and it's very impressive." Indeed, many times she's gone to the mainland just to walk around and one of her favorite places to go was the university library.

Wasn't it there that she first heard of the pageant? One of the students told her about it. Curious, Iphi had checked it out and saw a sign-up for judges. While at first, the idea of signing up to be a judge for a beauty pageant was a little awkward the notion had grown on her. It was a wonderful chance to meet new people and provide a fun event for the community. It felt good, fun even, to give back to the island. Obsidian had only been her home for three months and already she was in love with the simple lifestyle and the fascinating people.

Round: Swimsuit
<br>
Winter 7th09<br></font><br>
10:00 AM</div>
<br><br>
Alright, the first round was here! Normally, the thought of being half-naked in public would be terrifying and wrong and....humiliating. Back in China, it was frowned upon, and perhaps in some places, illegal. But Buchi wouldn't let that stand in his way. Today, it would be a game, a test to see how long he could stand out there in his swim trunks without running backstage screaming.
<p>
Buchi took his place at the curtain, slipping on some cheap sunglasses as he awaited his name to called. Okay, all he had to do was walk out there, smile and wave, make sure the the judges got a good look at him, then leave. All without breaking under the pressure. Okay, no sweat, he's been through worse, he could handle this! And then finally, the mayor announced his name! In....one...two...three!
<p>
Buchi slid out from behind the curtain, taking a deep breath and smiling as he strode down the runway. As planned, he waved to the audience, smiling the whole way. A few whistles could be heard, along with some giggles and "oohs". What was everyone getting excited about? He was just a guy walking, nothing to get all hyped up about.
<p>
He glanced down, wandering if something was wrong with him. Nope, nothing. His shorts were, so he wasn't flashing them anything. Then what? All he saw was skin, his old scars, and his muscles......oh! Of course, his warrior's body must look fantastic to them! All too soon, the white haired twin reached the judges panel, giving the trio a deep, long bow. Still smiling, he stood upright and turned to make his way backstage. Oh, ooh ooh! There was something else he could do!
<p>
As an added bonus for the lovely girls out there, Buchi took off his sunglasses and flung them into the crowd, watching a group of girls jump up and try to catch them. Blushing a bit, he continued on his way. Once the twin had made it backstage safely, he staggered over to a dressing room, as his legs felt as if they were made of jello. Alright, that wasn't so bad! Now to get into his Fashion wear....

Round: Swimsuit
<br>
Winter 7th09<br></font><br>
10:00 AM</div>
<br><br>
She was going to die. Just melt into a puddle and cause a giant mess on the runway. Contestants would be slipping on her until someone came and mopped her up. They would squeeze into a jar and give it to her family, who would keep her jar on a shelf for all of eternity. And her jar would be labeled "Divine" in Sharpie on duct tape. She felt so sure that would happen, it wad fate, her destiny.
<p>
Divine slung her small bag over her shoulder, her towel hanging out of it. She smoothed out her sarong, and adjusted her sun hat. She stared at herself in the mirror, frowning as goosebumps covered her body. God, her anxiety was so obvious! If Jay wasn't standing guard outside, she surely would have made a break for it a long time ago.
<p>
"Divy, babe, your up!" Jay called to her, poking his head in. "Oh damn, you look good. Now get out there and dazzle 'em!" he said, reaching in to pull her out. Divine squeaked in protest as he dragged her out to stand at the curtain. As soon as they reached the spot, a "Betha Fandell" was called out. "Relax, kid! Show 'em how beautiful you are!" Jay said, giving her a small push out.
<p>
And da-dam, she was there. By some miracle, she did what she was told. Composing herself, Divine strode down the runway with as much confidence that she could muster. The crowd cheered for her, and she had a feeling some guys were clearly enjoying the show. No one would recognize her, right? Hopefully no one would say "Hey, that's the girl from the grocery store!". Or come to the store after his and say "Hey, you were that white haired girl from the pageant!". Either one of those would just....just....ruin her.
<p>
Before she even knew it, Divine was at the end, facing the judges. The two women she could handle. It was the blonde guy who she was more worried about. He was....actually pretty handsome, but everyone knew that the cute ones were either taken, or gay. But even gay men knew when someone looked good, boy and girl. Karma taught her that a long time ago. Divine gave them a small pose, holding it for a few seconds before nodding and heading back.
<p>
She swore to God if anybody was checking out her ass, there would be hell to pay. Jay was waiting for her behind the curtains, a grin on his face. "Told ya you looked amazing. Actually, you looked pretty hot there".
<p>
Divine slugged him in the arm, causing the blonde to flinch. "Shut up, Jaime"

People say you've been talking, you got a big mouth. Saying words you know aren't true, what the hell are you talking about? So now we have a conundrum, and the problem is clearly you. This is the part where it gets ugly, and the solution getting rid of you. You'll never be safe in the shadows, I'll be waiting in the dark. With a shovel and a bag full of lime, and I'll say the devil made me do it.

<br>Round: Swimsuit
<br>Date: Winter 7, 09 10:00 am
<br>Mood: Confident, Encouraged
<br>Tag: Open

<br>
<br><br>'Hurry, hurry, hurry.' The redhead thought as she frantically slipped into here swimsuit. It would be her time to go out on stage soon and she was still struggling to get ready in time. A swimsuit competition in the middle of winter? It seemed a little odd to her but who was she to judge? It wasn't like she was that experienced with beauty pageants or anything. At least it had given her a chance to pick up a decent outfit for when summer finally did come around. It really was amazing how cheap swimsuits were when they weren't in season.
<br><br>
It was a light blue two piece that actually fit her slim figure perfectly. The color was pretty close to the color of her icy blue eyes which just happened to be perfect considering the winter theme for the competition. She really couldn't have asked for a better find and when she had seen it in the store she had picked it up immediately with the thoughts of the contest in her mind. Now she just had to make sure to sell it and make everyone know that she was the Winter Wueen she felt like right now.
<br><br>
'Coming to us next from the bonnie land Scotland is the redhead who brought her firey spirit and energy from across the sea, Miss Alison Summers.'
<br><br>
'Well here we go.' She thought just as she finished applying the last of her makeup. Alison shot out onto the stage wearing a sweet smile for the crowd. She had to admit that for all of her tomboyish nature she could become quite the lady when she wanted to and what was even better she was confident enough to play that fact up.
<br><br>
She walked lightly out onto the stage all charm and smiles and played to the audience like she had been doing this all her life. Wolf whistles and cheers made her smile inwardly but she had a purpose here and she couldn't let herself get distracted.
<br><br>
Waving to the crowd she made it to the end of the run way and struck a pose. See this wasn't as hard as it looked. To finish off her walk she blew a kiss to the crowd and gave a wink to the judges. It seemed to really get the crowd worked up and that made her happy.
<br><br>
With a final glance over the crowd she tossed her red hair over her shoulders before spinning on her heels to make her way backstage. She made sure to work this for all it was worth all the way back to the curtain. She wasn't some dainty little thing to be frightened by a little walk down the catwalk. This was her time to shine.
<br><br>
When she made it back stage she finally let the big smile she had been feeling the whole way slide across her face. 'Not bad. That should put the competition on their heels.' She didn't have much time to think about that now however because she had to get ready for the next stage of the competition so with that in mind she rushed off to the dressing room.
<br><br>
The game was still on and this was no time to relax.

<br><br>"It's nice to meet you Dr. Teresi. It's good to hear that you have been enjoying the university. We are proud of how much it has it has grown over the past year." she wasn't sure if this lady was a fellow professor or not but she naturally assumed. Why else would they set her up in such a position of high honor? The same went for the gentleman beside her in the hat. She was sure that they were both very distinguished in their field of study as was she.
<br><br>
She was about to ask where Ms. Teresi was from but she was suddenly cut off as the the announcer came over the sound system. Oh this was it. She was excited. This was going to be great.

wearing clicky

It was her turn. First she'll give a shy smile to the redhead that came off stage. Poor girl, never stood a chance. As soon as that girl was out of the way Zeharah took to the stage.

While her swimsuit was not as revealing os others she wore it well. Years of dance put a subtle grace into each step as she went down the runway. As if floating. Like a snowflake in the wind. Then in a flash she twirled the last five feet to the end of the run and performed a deep bow to the audience. If they cheered she couldn't tell. The high of performing blocked everything but the dance from her mind.

An airy quality came over her as she strolled back down the runway. She couldn't help it. Before the judges panel she bowed again, and offered her most dazzling smile. Before she knew it she stood before the curtain to backstage. Once last smile for the audience and disappear behind the curtain.

Now to get into her formal wear.

Round: Swimsuit<br>
Mood: Sick<br>

Kimberly turned around to beg her friend one more time to just call the whole thing off and go home, but he was no longer standing beside her. Oh Goddess, where had he gone?! She couldn’t go through with this by herself! A quick scan around the area informed her that he had likely been dragged away by a pageant volunteer to get changed for the first round… swimsuits. Goddess, why on earth had they chosen to have a swimsuit round in Winter?! It didn’t even make any sense! She really just wanted to bolt, but… she couldn’t leave Arthur hanging. They had agreed to do this together and she wasn’t going to back out on him. I just hope he hasn’t ditched me… Kimberly thought uncomfortably to herself as she made her way behind the stage to find a deserted spot to change.
<br><br>
Rummaging in her bag, Kimberly pulled out her entire ensemble and hastily swapped her clothes before anyone had a chance to walk in on her half-naked, almost instantly feeling goosebumps pop up along her legs and arms. It was freezing… and she was wearing a bathing suit. She must be insane. Even the matching blanket she had brought to throw over her shoulders did very little to keep out the biting cold.
<br><br>
Long before she was mentally prepared, the mayor was announcing her name and Kimberly’s stomach was doing somersaults inside her gut. Oh Goddess, she had to go out there right now and make a fool of herself. She really wished Arthur was around to say something encouraging, but she still had no idea where he had gotten dragged off to. If he’s even still here and hasn’t left you to the wolves, that insecure voice taunted her. Kimberly gave her head a shake, frowning slightly. No. He wouldn’t do that. I know he wouldn’t, she reassured herself.
<br><br>
“Here goes…” she murmured under her breath as she stepped out onto the stage, wishing very badly she were her twin right now. Morgan had way too much confidence. Why couldn’t Kimberly borrow a little from her? Just smile and wave and turn around so they can see the outfit, then you can go cry, she tried to reason with herself. Right. That sounded simple enough. Smile. Wave. Turn around. That was it. She could do this.
<br><br>
Forcing a bright smile onto her features, Kimberly walked across the stage and waved to the judges, glad that she was far enough away that no one could see her holding her breath or the slight tremor in her hand. Actually, that tremor might have been due to cold just as much as nerves. Turn around! she hissed at herself before she forgot and went back behind the curtain without actually showing off her outfit that she had spent a very long time putting together. It was nearly impossible to find winter-themed swimwear, and she was actually pretty proud of how the outfit had turned out once she’d gotten everything together. She’d even managed to find a towel with snowflakes on it!
<br><br>
She let the silk blue blanket she had draped around her slide off her shoulders, letting it hang loosely off her forearm as she did a little turn, the smile starting to hurt her cheeks. She heard applause and the next person’s name being called out and Kimberly had to consciously force herself to calmly walk back behind the curtain again rather than run in terror.
<br><br>
It was over… for now. Kimberly fought another wave of nausea, shivering violently as her teeth clacked together. WHY swimsuits in Winter?!
