Mood: Excited, nervous, anxious Outfit: [x][x] Tag: The Mysterious Nobleman, Snow White Queen Apatura Iris stood there silently as her friend and the young gentleman greeted one another. She seemed to really enjoy the attention once the young man took notice of her. That was her friend for you. She was always the center of attention when around. Not that she went looking for it but because of who she was and how she looked it always seemed to find her one way or another. Apatura was slightly jealous of her all-dress-in-white friend. Attention hardly ever found her. It was she who had to go looking for it. Although she wasn't much of an attention seeker in the first place, unless she was intoxicated. Telling form the way her friend smiled at the man Apatura was sure there would be some flirting going on tonight. Again, that was something her friend did very well. It always came to her so easily and most of the time didn't seemed forced. Apatura wasn't much of a flirting type of girl. She only did so when any guy had something she really wanted. There was hardly any people on this island who she would flirt with just for the fun of it or for the sake of liking someone. Perhaps tonight would be different though. Since she was already trying to hide her identity why not act the completely opposite of who she really was. Soon enough the young man introduced himself as The Mysterious Nobleman while giving a slight bow in her friend's direction after taking off his top hat. Apatura then noticed his messy hair thinking it looked somewhat familiar. Surely though the messiness of it all was due to wear the fancy hat or perhaps he didn't seem to care all that much on the appearance of his hair since it would be hidden beneath the large hat. While waiting for the two of them, Apatura slipped her hand into the crook of The Mysterious Nobleman's arm causing her to stand as close to him as her large dress would allow. If no one had been looking Apatura surely would have smacked herself in the forehead for beginning to act like such a floozy. Hopefully tonight nobody, especially The Mysterious Nobleman, wouldn't find out who she was otherwise she'd be way beyond embarassed. Excluding her frined of course, but perhaps if she left before midnight she'd be safe enough. Finally the gentleman asked about moving themselves inside into the warmth of the glowing building. It sounded like an excellent plan to Apatura. So quietly, without another word, Apature continued to hold onto his arm, tightening her grip just a little, as the three of them walked inside. |

Outfit: [X] Mood: Excited, Confident, Cheerful Tag: Apatura Iris, Snow White Queen “Excellent.” The nobleman said as he took the two girls between him. “Now, if there are no more objections I think we should seek more enjoyable venues.” It was time to let the fun begin and the mysterious nobleman was on a high. It was kind of a strange to think that on any other day he would have had trouble talking to someone unless they had spoken to him first and yet tonight it all seemed to come so easily. It made him wonder why he couldn’t just act so charming and confident on a regular basis. He obviously had it in him so why did a flimsy mask and a false identity make the difference? Maybe if he found the answers to those questions he could finally find a way to come out of his shell…but now wasn’t the time to be thinking about such things. He was supposed to be having fun and now that he had met the two friends there was no reason not to. Pushing the thoughts out of his head the nobleman politely led the way through the crowd. He noticed, with a bit of surprise, the slight squeeze on his arm from the pink dressed maiden and turned slightly to give her a reassuring smile and a little wink from behind his mask. He wasn’t much of a flirt, it kind of went along with not really talking to people much, but something about her had caught his eye. It was weird, she seemed so familiar to him but she couldn’t have been anyone he knew. If she was he was walking a very fine line with disaster tonight. The idea that someone he knew might find out who he was scared him more than anything but he was still fairly confident that there was no way that could happen. He had planned too well to make a mistake tonight. He also hoped that things wouldn’t be awkward between the two friends. He would feel horrible if his untimely entrance left some kind of hard feelings between the girls so perhaps they could all enjoy the evening together even though it had been the young maiden and her unique choice of footwear that had captured his attention. Upon entering the estate the nobleman was immediately hit by the spectacular decorations and the warm, inviting atmosphere. The mayor certainly spared no expense when it came to throwing a party that much was sure. It was such an amazing sight the nobleman almost stopped for a moment in the doorway to take it all in. The European theme, the music, the lights, and especially the colors, it combined to make the perfect scene. Fortunately he remembered the two girls and, not wanting to look like some kid in a candy store who had never been to one of these things before, he kept moving until he could safely step out of the crowd’s way with the two girls. “Well ladies it looks as if they started to the party without us.” He said with a good humored smile. “Perhaps the two of you would like to tour the grounds, catch a bite to eat, or maybe..." He added a little empahsis by pausing for a moment before continuing. "...try your luck on the dance floor this evening. Of course first I had probably better learn your names since you have me at a disadvantage by knowing mine.” |

Mood: Energetic. Curious. Outfit: Suit & Mask & Cape Tag: Open. This masquerade was the second in the history of the village - so, since he did not go last year, he decided he had to catch it this time. Although the idea sounded a bit stupid - or at least, something he would never be interested in - he was here nonetheless. It wasn't like he had anything particularly better to do on a Friday night, anyway. Staying at home was out of the question, and most people would probably be out at this thing, creating slim pickings for socializing elsewhere. Besides, why the hell not? Even if the whole thing sounded kind of dumb, he had to at least give it a shot. So the man had dug up a suit and, just a few days before, ran into Abyssinian Town to hunt for a mask. Admittedly, this had been a bit of a difficult task. All of the masks he found - which were hard enough to find in the first place - were either too plain, or just too flamboyant to buy, let alone wear. However, with just enough perseverance (and a boatload of free time), he had found it. It was perfect - simple, but unique and just cool all around. The price was right, too. We are a match made in heaven, the man thought, adjusting the carefully crafted piece of plastic that sat upon his face. It was a simple, half-face mask made of black plastic. Its shape was made of swooping curves that met in points above the eyes, and at the sides. Underneath the eyes and over his nose, the mask bore more numerous points in a fashion that resembled the wings of a bat. This quality alone provided the springboard into his alias for the night. I am Batman, he thought, smiling widely in a mixture of both glee and amusement. Who else would be Batman around here, anyway? No one! He'd be totally unique, and completely amazing. Chuckling quietly to himself, the man strolled into Chrysocolla Estate, a noticable spring in his step. He had to admit... while the idea was still a bit stupid, he was already feeling the energy and fun upon stepping into the mayor's home. Once he was inside he stepped to the side and paused, taking in his surroundings. It was certainly... sparkly in here. Who knew this place could look so fancy? Batman gave a few nods of approval at the decor, admittedly impressed, before he began to explore. He leisurely made his way through the crowd of people, noting the array of dresses and suits around him. Hm... who to talk with first? There were a fair number of good-looking fish in this sea of masqueraders. But did he have the bait? Batman paused by the wall, taking a moment to compose himself. He straightened out his cape, making sure it was secured around his shoulders. He had to admit, it was pretty fun sweeping it about, and swirling around. However, as tempting as it was, he restrained himself and adjusted the suit underneath. He hadn't been too sure if it was a good match with the cape - dressing formally was never his thing - but, well, he thought he looked all right nonetheless. Crisply ironed and well-fitted, it complimented his shoulders and lean figure. Maybe I'll take my cape off later... do they have cape check? he wondered, gaze flickering up briefly to scan the area. He failed to catch sight of any such thing, but it didn't matter. He didn't look too out of place here, so Batman figured he was set and ready to go. Smiling, he ran a hand over his dark, gelled-back hair and set off into the crowd, his eyes searching for a good place to start off his night. |

![]() Mood: Excited! Tag: Open // Batman! ------------------------------------------- Ooh, what a fancy party this turned out to be! Kadoodle was shaking with excitement, barley being able to contain it! Big Sister already went ahead, leaving before she did. Big Brother had decided to skip out on tonight's party. Silly boy, who could skip out on a big shin dig like this? What a better way then spending the night getting great ideas for her comic book? Captain Kadoodle and The Great Masked Marauder! Wait....maybe that title was already taken. Ah squiggles! Perhaps a different title was in order. After tonight, she'll most likely have the whole plot planned out! Then tomorrow she could create the artwork. Hm, yes always plan ahead. The best plans were made in advanced. That's how all great villains came up with their schemes! Clever little devils. She will not stand for any wrong doing at this special and grand gathering! As a hero, she must protect the innocent at all costs! Oh wow! Look at all the costumes! Even if she had lived here her entire life, Kadoodle probably wouldn't be able to guess who any of them were. How mysterious! There were so many different outfits, she couldn't help but be impressed! Were they better or worse then hers? A lot of girls were wearing frilly dresses that draped down to the floor. Her's only came down to her knees. All the better to show off her amazing socks! But, maybe tennis shoes weren't very....formal. Well, she's in a dress! Stop expecting so much! Besides, a great superhero must always be ready to leap into action! Wearing five foot long dresses would only slow her down! Perish the thought! An evil mastermind could strike at any moment! And she will be there to bring him down! Making up villains was so much fun! Which is why Capt. Kadoodle always had a new one every volume! Of course, a recurring one would have to be set soon. Like the Joker, Green Goblin, and Lex Luther! In the end, the hero/ine prevails over all! Speaking of suspicious creatures, who in the world was that? And why was he wearing what appeared to resemble...the mask of the Caped Crusader!? Was he Bruce Wayne or someone else? And what kind of a party was this exactly? Halloween wasn't until next week! Unless he looked good in that mask. Or maybe....just maybe....Clark Kent had decided to dress up as his friend?! Billy Batson? Any other heroes with dark hair like this man's? It was so worth finding out! What a great crossover that would be! Captain Kadoodle meets Captain Marvel! Oh how wonderful that would be! She would have to ask him somehow, without revealing his true identity! Tracking him would be easy, for her anyway. She practiced all the skills Captain Kadoodle had to better understand the concept she was drawing. The girl slunk through the crowd, keeping a close, but safe distance from her target. A few people caught sight of her actions, yet thankfully didn't give it a second thought. Good, didn't need her cover blown! |

There was no doubt in his mind. The food was far worth nearly giving up his identity to the crowd. To be fair, there was really no sillier a celebration in his mind, but…at the same time, he knew he couldn’t afford to miss it either. As he glanced up, bright blue eyes skimming around the crowd that milled about and occasionally danced, he felt a strong pain right in the center of his chest. She would have loved to be here. He knew that very well. …enough of that. He devoured the rest of the food in short succession, still being very careful about lifting his mask only slightly above his lips before he took bites, and then proceeded to look around. Would a waiter come and take his plate? Would he dispose of it in a trashcan? Were these dishes and silverware important to the estate or not? Perhaps he should chuck them at the Mayor and see his reaction. He’d never seen the bright, bumbling, relatively large man do anything but smile cheerfully and greet everyone in his immediate radius as if they were old friends. Perhaps a concussion to his head with dishware would set that straight. Deciding that he was quite finished with merely sitting here and trying to figure out what to do about the soiled dishes, however, he stood to his feet and swept his cape aside, glancing around to see whom he’d be dropping hints to first. Women were out of the question, of course. They were all dancing and flitting around looking for a man to flirt with, a man to dance with, et cetera. Hmph. He prayed that none of them looked to him for such a partner. He cast a disdainful look toward a young woman parading about in formal attire with tennis shoes on beneath them, wondering just where she got off deciding to make a mockery of this occasion in such a way, before he let her small group of individuals slip past him and instead directed his attention to the very first unaccompanied man that he saw. Who was apparently trying to be Batman. Good God. He resisted the urge to roll his eyes, however, and merely let out a very smooth sigh from between his thin lips as he crossed the area. Any other person might have tried not to make it obvious that they were targeting a person specifically, but he was rather sure that the gent who was trying to be a superhero wouldn’t think that he was being flirted with. Then again, he supposed as he considered his face-covering mask, if he was a lesser sort of a man it was certainly something that he could play with. “Interesting choice of attire,” he said smoothly to the man when he paused beside him, grabbing a glass of punch from a waitress that passed him and beginning to sip it as he quirked a brow and glanced over the others around them. “Though, given the present company, I must say I’m not very surprised by it.” There was a little silver-haired girl, in fact, sliding around the room like she was trying to avoid being seen. She apparently didn’t know that this made her absolutely seeable. How unfortunate for her. Outfit: Here Tag: Batman. |

Mood: Cheerful, excited, slightly nervous Tag:Apatura Iris & Batman & Mysterious Nobleman Dress Mask Shoes The girl decked out in white smiled once she was inside and looked around. Quite some interesting costumes. Including someone dressed as a tuxedo bat man. she smiled, chuckling as she examined the costume a bit more. It was very dashing. she was almost positive if Batman dressed up in a tuxedo he'd be much more handsome.... Though the tights made moving a lot easier, she figured. She found herself curious about the batman dressed guy. Plus her friend seemed like she'd be just fine if she left her with mister Nobleman. "I think i'll pass. I'm sure my friend here would much rather dance with you." she said, not wanting to dance in heels and break both their necks. So with that she whispered to her friend, "I'll catch up with you later." and strolled over by Mister Batman. "Nie costume. It'd be pretty interesting seeing Batman fight crime atually dressed in a tuxedo, wouldn't it?" she asked, with a small chuckle. |

Mood: Excited, nervous Outfit: [x][x] Tag: The Mysterious Nobleman, Snow White Queen The moment they all walked inside she felt the warmth of the elaborately decorated building surround her. It seemed to get rid of her chills almost instantly helping her to feel slightly more comfortable with what she was wearing. There was still the fact that the skirt was rather large, making her feel five times large then her normal self but that was why she had gone with a normal pair of shoes instead of a pair of heels. Because of doing so she would be able to move around with a bit more ease. Why she couldn't even remember the last time she had worn a pair of high heels. Two years ago, maybe three? Plus it was her style. There was always at least one item in her attire for the day that never seemed to match. It was an expression of who she was in a way. Adding to the warmth was the sightly atmosphere. There were lights of plenty from the large chandelier to the few candles glowing brightly and the furniture was different from last year she noticed. It was a bit classier then last year making her feel as if she had stepped back in time somewhat, although the band in the corner took away from that. Then there were the villagers, a few whom she had watched arrive while sitting outside. There were so many different colors and a large variety of costumes. She noticed how there were more capes then anything else though. All in all she was very glad that she had attended, well so far anyways. The rest of the night had yet to be deciphered. She continued to be led by The Mysterious Nobleman with her friend on his opposite arm until they came to a stop along the side of the room so not to be in anyone's way. The first thing that came to mind was how she hoped her friend wouldn't feel the need to hang around her all night. She was entitled to have her own fun. All Apatura really wanted was someone to appear and possibly talk with until someone caught her attention. It seemed although that asking her friend to arrive with her was not needed now. There was no way to have known this earlier for the Mysterious Nobleman had done nearly all that already. Standing there quietly she tried to think of something to say. She wasn't very good at starting a decent conversation. Thankfully though, The Mysterious Nobleman had beat her to the punch. He asked the two of them what they would like to do first. Dine on the spectacular food? Walk around the large estate or begin their first dance. Surely he wouldn't object to anything else if they thought of it. However, before they could say anything he continued and asked them for their names. "They call me Apa--," she began to say but was quickly interrupted by her friend as she turned towards them and announced that she was leaving them for a bit. Her white friend also added in saying something about Apatura wanting to dance with the guy rather then herself. Then before she could bid her white friend farewell she was already half way across the room walking towards a man in a black and white tuxedo. Apatura couldn't help but smile as she watched her friend. Well at least now she knew her friend didn't feel obligated to stand around for her own sake. Turning back around towards the young gentleman she gave him a sincere smile. Surely he was still waiting on learning her name for the night. So before any other interruption could make an appearance she introduced herself. "I am Apatura Iris," she curtsied slightly making it a bit more formal while feeling rather silly at the same time, "but if you'd rather prefer you may call me just Apatura." |

Outfit: [X] Mood: Excited, Confident, Cheerful Tag: Apatura Iris, Snow White Queen The nobleman watched the two girls for a moment out of simple curiosity but had to admit he was slightly relieved when the girl clad in the snow white dress decided to excuse herself and take her liberty with one of the other masked party goers, batman no less. As much as he was enjoying the company he was not so confident in his ability to entertain the two friends for an entire evening. He had undergone a remarkable transformation tonight but his little plastic mask wasn’t magic and certainly wouldn’t have given him the ability to handle himself with two girls this evening. “Your presence I’m sure will be missed but I assure you I will watch out for your friend in your absence. Enjoy your evening M’lady.” He said as he gave the Snow White Queen a gracious bow. She would probably never know the significance of her actions but the nobleman did feel a lot more comfortable with her friend. Hopefully there would be no love lost between the two of them. Besides it looked as if she could handle herself and she might enjoy the opportunity to get off on her own. In any case it seemed to be for the better and maybe he and the young maiden would run into her later in the evening. Turning his attention back to the young lady in pink the nobleman was delighted to finally learn her name, or rather what her name was for the evening. It was good to have a name that he could connect with the girl. It made everything feel a bit more formal even if the names were made up and the true identities were hidden. He met the girl’s gaze and returned her smile with one of his own. “Apatura…” He repeated to himself giving the name a try for the first time. He liked it. It was very creative, a lot more creative than the Mysterious Nobleman at least but he had never really been good at thinking up names for the things he did. Still names were important and he was glad to finally know he could attach one with the shy young maiden. “It’s a lovely name, very good choice. It’s a pleasure to make you acquaintance Miss Apatura.” Now that all the introductions were out of the way all that was really needed was to start having a little fun. Of course he really had no idea at this point. Sure he had made some fine suggestions but this really wasn’t his kind of thing. He was pretty much just winging it at this point. Had he been more experienced with this kind of thing he would have felt more comfortable jumping right into something but this was all new territory for him no matter how much of a cool and confident act he tried to play. “Well I guess it will be just you and me this evening. I hope that you will find that acceptable.” The nobleman said as he took one more, quick glance around the room to try and get some kind of idea on his next move. “I suppose the question comes back to you this time. It seems we have several options to choose from but to be honest I would be honored if you would allow me a dance this evening.” He wasn’t really sure what he was getting himself into. He was horribly uncoordinated and clumsy and he had never really tried dancing before so it was sure to be an adventure but it seemed to be the right and proper thing to do and as embarrassing as it might be he still couldn’t deny that the idea did sound fun. Still it might be better to warn Apatura of what she was getting into. “I have to admit that I’m not the best dancer in the world but so long as you don’t mind a few stubbed toes the offer is still opened.” The evening wouldn’t be any fun if they didn’t participate in any of the activities so all fear of bodily harm aside the nobleman was at least willing to make the attempt and hoped Apatura would be too. |

Mood: Embarrassed Outfit: Dress & Mask Tag: Mysterious Gray Mysterious Noblewoman blinked in utter shock. He wanted to dance with her? After she had so rudely run over him in the middle of such a fancy affair and then bored him to tears with her incessant, nervous chattering? Either he was Job from the Bible or he had a soft spot for clumsy, socially incompetent women, which she highly doubted. Not that Mysterious Noblewoman was much of a believer in the Bible, anyway. It was hard to have faith in a profession like hers, but she knew the stories well enough, anyway. In fact, she knew the Bible inside and out from her days at boarding school. Perhaps that was part of the reason why she didn’t believe about ninety-eight per cent of it. In any case, this man displayed an incredible amount of patience. Mysterious Noblewoman awkwardly cleared her throat, nervously patting her hair, which thankfully, still seemed to be in place in its elegant coil at the base of her neck. The dark red colour was still a little new and strange to her, but she supposed it was better than what she had before. She had been reminded of her mother every time she looked in a mirror and it left a sour taste in her mouth. Finally getting fed up with hating the resemblance, she had drastically changed the colour. She still wasn’t sure if such a vibrant, rich colour suited her pale complexion, but at least it didn’t give her unpleasant memories. ”Er… ye want teh dance? With me? Really?” she asked The Mysterious Gray, her tone more sceptical than gleeful. No one had asked her to dance in a very long time. In fact, she couldn’t remember the last time she’d been asked to dance at any event. This was partially due to the fact that she hadn’t gone to many social events in her lifetime and partially because she was so awkward and unattractive that she drove most potential dance partners away very fast. Now here she was with this man, both their faces covered, neither one of them knowing the other’s identity and he wanted to dance with her. She was both incredibly flattered and terrified. There were many things Mysterious Noblewoman loved to do, but avoided doing because of her own self-consciousness. Dancing was one of those things. She hadn’t danced in years and tonight she was finally given an opportunity to dance in a place where no one knew who she was. On the other hand, the fact that she hadn’t danced in years probably meant that she wasn’t very good at it. What if she embarrassed The Mysterious Gray by tripping all over herself or stepping on his feet or accidentally knocking him down… what a way to repay him for being so nice to her. Not only would she have embarrassed him by running into him just now and causing a scene with tearing her dress, but she’ll have humiliated him on the dance floor as well, possibly breaking a few of his toes in the process. ”That’s real sweet o’ ye, lad, but I’m not sure that’d be a good idea,” she confessed, glad her mask covered her humiliated blush. ”I mean, I haven’t really danced in years an’ I’d probably just end up troddin’ all over yer feet an’ makin’ more of a scene. I wouldn’t want teh embarrass ye any more tonight, since ye’ve been so kind teh me an’…” she continued to ramble, making up excuse after excuse as to why she couldn’t dance with him and inwardly kicking herself for it. Why couldn’t she just have the confidence to do what she really wanted, just for one night in her entire lifetime? Why was it so bloody hard to just say yes and enjoy herself like all the other women here, dancing and laughing without any worries or cares whatsoever? Because ye’re a bloody cow an’ they’re tiny enough that they can actually move without runnin’ inta folk an’ trippin’ all over their own damn feet, ye idiot! she reminded herself with a slight wince of discomfort that was veiled behind the mask she wore. Not for the first time, Mysterious Noblewoman desperately wished that every social situation could be like work, where she actually knew what she was doing and how to handle people; with cool, professional detachment. |

The mysterious and anonymous atmosphere had its downsides, the Lady thought to herself as she sipped her wine. Yes, it was all very well and good. One could wear what they like and the occasion would justify it; there was no better refuge than that of audacity, after all. On an ordinary occasion her out would designate her as a lunatic, the hoop skirt that encircled her waist would make it ridiculously hard to get through doors, her hair was of a ridiculous height. If she weren’t so surrounded by similarly dressed people, she would look mad. As it was, she blended in fairly well. Better than others, anyway. She held her wine glass below her lips, still half tilted to her mouth, stopping to observe a lunatic sneaking around the room. Or at least, that was what it appeared she was doing. The Lady quirked a brow, only seeing a top hat bobbing up and down in the sea of masked faces. Lowering her wine glass, delicately holding the neck between her fingers, she stretched her neck up for a better look, not that this took much effort. A small smile curled her lips, and she snorted lightly, drawing her hand up to cover her face. Oh goodness, she thought, still smirking as she tore her gaze from the silver girl, this is precisely what I meant when I thought this event would bring out the other side of this town. Obsidian as a whole seemed relatively sane, but once you become anonymous—a face in the crowd—you change. For some it was a nearly unnoticeable change, go up and speak with a stranger despite having never been introduced, have a glass of wine when you are normally quite dry. For others it meant tiptoeing around looking like an escaped loon, but to each their own. Speaking as a woman who had at least a foot of hair at the moment, she did not have much room to judge. The last of her wine passed through her lips, not pausing as she set it on a small table for a servant to snatch it up later in the evening. Well, I suppose I should join in. She thought. As pleasant as people watching could be, there was this small urge to put herself out there, the anonymity of the evening going to her head as well. The Lady stepped around the crowd. She had thought her flats might seem a touch out of place with all the pointed heels, but spotted a woman wearing tennis shoes, for God’s sake. No doubt the choice of some wild youth’s attempt to stick it to the Man. The Lady allowed the other women to crowd the bat-like characters and other masculine figures in the crowd, eyes settling upon a woman clad in the clothes reminiscent of an Indian wedding she had attended years ago. She raised her brow. Different, but not necessarily bad. The woman approached slowly, gaze trailing absently about the room as she considered the dessert bar from earlier. “Good evening,” she greeted the Indian Princess quietly, tilting her head down to see her. The Lady allowed a smile to spread over her features, eyes twinkling softly behind her mask. “I... like your dress.” Apparently the mask did not make her any more interesting a conversationalist. “It’s certainly an interesting concept.” And more well-thought out, she added silently, thinking of the others she had seen already. No doubt the costumes would become even more ridiculous as the night wore on. Mood: Still excited, nervous Outfit: Dress & Mask Tag: Indian Princess |

Mood: Excited, nervous Outfit: [x][x] Tag: The Mysterious Nobleman Apatura wasn't quite sure yet if she felt relieved or discouraged that her friend ran off leaving her alone with The Nobleman. Surely the man was no psychopath, but the truth was that she had no idea how to act on a night like tonight. Last year definitely proved that correct. She was a mess and had absolutely no idea what to do now that she was alone. Looking the part wasn't quite enough for her. If only she felt confident enough as her friend and the Nobleman appeared and seemed to be. Then she'd have no worries and could enjoy herself immensely tonight. She continued to feel like a fool as the Nobleman bid her friend farewell. How he spoke tonight with such elegance, well.. that she could never do. If she was to even try to speak as he did the words would come out sounding rather atrocious. She would probably end up sending the nobleman in the other direction laughing at her on his way out. So to save herself any further embarrassment she decided to not even try and attempt such a thing. All she really needed to do was disguise her voice and using her southern accent was working out just fine so far. After the young man repeated her name, for his own purpose no doubt, then complimented on the choice of name she had chosen Apatura curtsied once again. He had used the word 'miss' which she hoped he wouldn't make of habit of it tonight. It was okay to be used when formerly introducing or meeting someone but other then that she thought the sound of the word put before her own name made her sound old. The only way he would ever know this though was if she told him herself. "Although tonight is a formal event Apatura will do just fine. You can leave out the miss." She smiled softly before turning the scenario around onto him, "Unless you'd rather me call ya Mr. Mysterious Nobleman." Looking back over to her friend once more, Apatura made the assumption that they would hardly see each other anymore tonight, especially if her friend successfully played her way into Batman's heart. That was fine with her though. They weren't best friends, but merely just friends. Every now and then they bump into each other, talk a little bit then continue on their way and sometimes they didn't get along very well depending on the situation. Why this event was the first thing they had ever really done together. Deciding to forget her friend for the rest of the night she turned back around to the Nobleman. He then asked a question that she had been dreading, hoping that it would have never come up tonight. Did he really want to dance with her? Well that was a silly question because otherwise he would have never asked, but then the question was did she want to dance with him. Of course she did, if she only knew how to dance that was. Never ever before in her entire young life had she never danced so seriously before. No ballroom, no nothing. The only moves she possessed was some crazy mumbo jumbo dance and even then she only did so in secret in the security her own bedroom. Quickly she tried to think of a way out of it but the only excuse she could come up with was having some injury and that was just preposterous. He would know that she was lying no doubt. Maybe she would turn ill and have to go home early, but then she'd miss out on all the evenings events. There was no way she was going to miss out on all that. Otherwise dressing up and making herself look like a fool would have been for nothing. No.. there was no way out of this. She would just have to suck it up and dance with the guy. Surprisingly, the young man came to her rescue in a strange sort of way. He announced that he himself wasn't all that great of a dancer. This was great news to Apatura. Now she felt like she could accept without feeling like she was obligated to dance with the guy. She could dance the entire night away now and not care about what others thought. If she looked like a fool he surely would too. So the two of them would look like fools together. Apatura didn't really mind this and hoped that he didn't either. "Well your in luck because I have no clue as to how to dance as well. So by night's end I'm sure I will have re-payed you with a few stubbed toes." Apature smirked playfully before holding out her hand waiting for him to escort her out onto the dance floor. |

Outfit: [X] Mood: Excited, Confident, Cheerful Tag: Apatura Iris The nobleman could only smile as Apatura spoke up again in her southern accent. He had mainly been a northern boy himself although he had moved around quite a bit he lived for a short time in the south before coming to the island. People were always much friendlier in the small country towns than the big city and that was what he was reminded of when the girl spoke. He didn’t know where she was from or how long she had lived there but Apatura definitely seemed like a genuinely friendly person, which he liked. A little shy, perhaps not so much as he usually was, but that was fine with him. Of course had he not undergone such a dramatic transformation this evening the nobleman wondered if they would have even noticed each other. “Point taken, Apatura it is.” He said with a slight chuckle. If she didn’t want him to call her ‘miss’ for the rest of the night he guessed he could manage that. He had just gotten so used to using the formal titles when talking to others especially those he didn’t know well. Still he could see her point. He certainly wouldn’t want to be called Mister anything. It just didn’t fit him. In fact hearing the title used in conjunction with his name was what had brought out the chuckle. ‘Mr. Mysterious Nobleman’ just didn’t sound right. A moment passed once he had asked Apatura to dance. He almost thought that she might turn him down and if it hadn’t been for his confession about his dancing abilities, or lack there off, she might very well have. Luckily his words seemed to help her relax and when Apatura told him that she had no clue how to dance either the nobleman’s smile turned into a grin. “Well since we have decided to toss self-preservation to the wind I suppose we have nothing to fear.” The nobleman said with a chuckle of his own. Apatura certainly wouldn’t have anything to be embarrassed about as long as they were together tonight. Where one person who didn’t know how to dance might make a fool of themselves when two got together they could just have fun, assured of the fact that if they were going to be fools at least they would have company. This was true in the nobleman’s case as he was a little relieved that he wouldn’t have to embarrass himself in front of Apatura. Sure other people might think they looked ridiculous fumbling around together but so long as they were having fun that was all that mattered. Taking Apatura’s hand the nobleman gave a slight bow before leading her out among the dancers who had already taken to the floor. They wouldn’t do anything too fancy, certainly nothing that involved gliding and spinning across the floor like the more experienced couples were doing. It would be something simple so that instead of worrying about bumping into other couples or injuring each other they could just focus on having fun. The song that was being played was a faster song, it was still a classical piece but not one of the slower paced, more passionate tunes that would probably be played more and more as the night continued. It was more of a lighthearted piece and that was good because it would give them a chance to laugh and just act like themselves without having to worry about any awkward encounters. Perhaps later in the evening they could try one of the slower ballroom tunes but for now, the nobleman at least, was content to play things safe. If everything went well then who knew where things could go. Turning to Apatura the nobleman met the girl’s eyes with a reassuring look. He definitely wasn’t used to anything like this and wasn’t really sure what he was doing but did his best not to show it. He took her other hand mimicking some of the other dancers and without pausing to give it too much thought they were off. It was more improvisation than anything else and it probably looked nothing like what a traditional ballroom dance should but the nobleman took the lead and tried to keep things simple and fun for the both of them. His natural clumsiness came out with a stumble or two but he just smiled apologetically at his mistakes and make jokes about his ‘moves’ to try and keep the mood light. |

Mood: Relaxed, cheerful Outfit: Hat, Long gray cloak Tag: Mysterious Noblewoman ”Er… ye want teh dance? With me? Really?” The Mysterious Gray smiled. "Of course. That's why I asked." He said. He was absolutely certain of this, he nodded his head reassuringly. He had a feeling though, that she would be too afraid to dance with him. Especially after that incident. ”That’s real sweet o’ ye, lad, but I’m not sure that’d be a good idea,” The Gray frowned at hearing this. ”I mean, I haven’t really danced in years an’ I’d probably just end up troddin’ all over yer feet an’ makin’ more of a scene. I wouldn’t want teh embarrass ye any more tonight, since ye’ve been so kind teh me an’…” The woman continued on and on about why she shouldn't dance with him. Something told him that she was holding herself back. The Mysterious Gray's peculiar expression was obscured by his mask. What was wrong with her? It was as if she didn't even want to try and make her night better. Now... what was that saying? Hm.... "When you hit rock bottom, the only way to go is up..." The Mysterious Gray muttered, mostly to himself but within earshot of the Mysterious Noblewoman. The Mysterious Gray shook his head softly, as if to get something out of his mind, before looking back down at the Mysterious Noblewoman. He chuckled, "Miss, I doubt half of the people here are good at dancing or even know how to. But we all came here anyway to have a good time..." He reassured, as if completely ignoring all the reasons she made not to dance with him. Being tripped on or having his feet stepped on really didn't bother the tall man. Far worse things have happened to the Gray than being "embarrassed" in front of people he didn't even know or want to impress. Gray was never embarrassed because he never regretted the decisions he made, and he knew that he would have no regrets when asking Mysterious Noblewoman to dance with him. "Well then, I'll lead." He said, extending his hand out to her once more. His mask veiled the expression in his eyes, but the warm smile on his face could easily be seen. |

![]() Mood: Excited! Tag: Open // Batman! ![]() ------------------------------------------- This was fun! Kadoodle felt like a ninja sneaking through the crowd, past dancers and food eaters and other people doing....party stuff. Ooh, Big Brother should have came tonight! He would be having a great time, trying to woo anybody in a dress. And there was a lot of dresses tonight! In fact, where was Big Sister? Coming in separately probably wasn't the greatest idea ever. For her, anyway. Oh wait, there she was! Sitting at the tables eating. A thought stuck the girl in mid-step, her foot dangling in the air. If Sister found out what she was up to.....oh no! Kadoodle instantly turned away from the tables, hoping she wasn't spotted by her older sibling. So far so good! Now, where did Batman go? There he is! With some other random dude...and girl. Where they asking for his autograph to? Copy caters! Just one of those things that couldn't be helped. Bruce Wayne was a very famous man, after all. Even the fake one, who drew attention everywhere he went. Holy potatoes, look at that dress! All right and frilly, and fancier looking than hers. Of course Mr. Wayne would attract girls pretty like that. They would be keeping the fans at bay, wishing they to, could be that close to someone so awesome! Which caused Kadoodle to feel....under dressed. Sister insisted she looked fine before pulling on her own garments, which were exotic and ridiculous in their own way. Brother didn't help any, saying if it covered their boobs, they were fine. Psh, such a boy! Who probably would have been the one to start flirting with Snow White over there. Really, how can men make up a million nice things to say to a girl? It was simply unKAlievable! Superheroes didn't need corny pick up lines. They would save the girl, date her, then reveal their true identity! Of course after that, the girl is kidnapped by the villain, causing the hero to rescue her. Sometimes a break-up followed shortly after that. Hm, Kadoodle would have to seriously think about a seriously serious relationship during her heroing days. Nasty break-ups can be nasty! Just ask her brother! |

outfit;; He probably stuck out like a sore thumb amidst a crowd of fancy European royalty-types. Eh, who the hell cared? That One Guy didn’t. He wasn’t here to be sneaky, when you looked like him it was hard to be otherwise. Clad in a sleek blue suit, complete with a mask that in theory hid his identity. How well it did that was up for debate. Mask or no, That One Guy had a pretty easily recognisable body, and face for that matter, but he guessed the mask helped him feel what Cyrano de Bergerac felt like every. Single. Day. And it was hard, let me tell you. That One Guy furrowed his brow, tapping the edge of his mask. From his limited perspective, he could see the long, beaked nose that tapered down to a point. He snorted, stifling a chuckle by biting down on his lips. God, he probably looked absolutely ridiculous. And he loved it. “Can we go in already?” came the voice of the Other, huddled together with That One Girl, a shawl draped over both their shoulders. They wore identical masks, blue and swept up the side of their faces, much better for not clonking people on the head with your nose. That One Guy looked over, and nodded, noting that both of them were clad in thin dresses, the Other’s being entirely strapless. The Other muttered a faint prayer and rushed in, barely greeting the Mayor with a smile before she dashed into the ballroom. “Wow...” “You can say that again.” That One Girl whispered, eyes sparkling beneath her mask as she looked about. She giggled, facing the two with a bright smile. “Ohmygod this is so exciting, come on!~ We have to go dance this instant!” That One Guy chuckled, running his hands through his hair (ever mindful of his gigantic beak). “... You two go ahead, I’m going to look around first.” They nodded, before the Other was forcedly dragged off, peals of laughter lingered in the air where the two girls had been mere seconds before. He stuffed his hands into his pocket, glancing around. Quite a crowd here tonight, and he already saw a few familiar faces, so he wasn’t the only one who completely sucked at this whole inconspicuous thing. Otherwise, strangers. All of them, which meant a lot coming from him. Especially this silver-haired girl who was bobbing all over the place like a rabbit or something. He raised a brow beneath his mask, observing her a moment before laughing. Ooookay, from what he could gather, she was trying to work up the courage to talk to someone. Who, he couldn’t tell, and looking long enough to tell who on earth it was would be a tad creepy. That One Guy, still chuckling softly to himself, crossed the room to reach the top hat wearing girl. He waved at a few people he thought he recognised, and stopped before Kadoodle, grinning. “Evening,” he said. “Pretty neat party, huh? I came last here, but I think the mayor really outdid himself this year.” As if to emphasise this, he did one sweeping look around the place. Deciding to cut to the chase, That One Guy followed her line of sight, finding himself looking at some guy in a tux. He smirked every-so-slightly, and shifted his gaze back to her. Right, maybe he would do one good deed tonight. |
