And a dress code, formalwear is required, as is a mask that is fits securely over your eyes and nose. Other than that, one is free to explore as many of the costume options out there, from ballroom regalia to masked heroes.<br><br> In honour of the event, the estate has been decked out like never before (unless you were here last year), from a distance it emits a soft, unearthly glow. A great effort has been made to make the estate look as if it has been lit by a perfectly natural light. An enormous crystal chandelier hangs in the ballroom, glittering and swaying with the music, flashes of colours from the moving bodies below dance through the individual stones. The entire lobby has been cleared and decked out for the event, leaving ample space for dancers and a live band, well-versed in classic ballroom numbers. The band has set up in the east corner of the room, and has a stereo system if any more modern songs are requested. The furnishings have been removed and replaced with new chairs and lights that reflect a high-class European elegance.<br><br> The north wall has several tables set up, with a buffet available for any who get peckish during the night. Mood: Out-of-place Outfit: Mysterious Noblewoman Mask: Click ---------- Mysterious Noblewoman frowned as she walked through the large doors of the estate, her black mask covering most of her uncomfortable expression. This was a stupid idea. She was far too busy to be taking nights off to go to something like this. Besides, as lovely and elegant as everything looked, she knew she wouldn't really enjoy it. Even with the masks hiding everyone's faces, all the guests at this event looked young. This wasn't really something a woman of her age should be attending. She strode into the ballroom and looked around at the extravagant decorations, her eyes catching a tall mirror across the room and her gut twisted uncomfortably. Bloody elephant, ye are... she thought, her own wide frame that she had tried so hard to slim down with an extremely uncomfortable, painful corset underneath her black gown sticking out against all the tiny, thin women dancing and laughing with their dates. She had thought she actually looked quite nice when she had examined herself at home. She'd spent hours getting ready for this, in fact, but now that she was around all these younger, prettier, slimmer women, she felt like the ugly duckling in the crowd. Speaking of which, were they supposed to bring dates to this? Mysterious Noblewoman glanced around nervously at everyone. A few people were by themselves, but the vast majority of the guests were accompanied by a member of the opposite sex and Mysterious Noblewoman's cheeks reddened slightly with humiliation, though the mask did a good job of hiding it. Of course she should have known that. This was basically just a fancier version of a high school dance. Why wouldn't you bring a date? Mysterious Noblewoman certainly had no one to accompany her. In fact, she didn't really have any friends at all, even after living on this island for two seasons, as she'd been made painfully are of on her birthday that had just passed not too long ago. Bloody hell, why did I even bother comin' teh this? she thought, thoroughly irritated with herself for getting such a ridiculous notion in her head in the first place. She had tonnes of paperwork to do at home, her cat probably missed her and she had wasted almost an entire day getting ready for this silly masquerade when she could have been doing something productive and useful. All her efforts had been wasted, anyway. She stuck out like a sore, bruised thumb in this sea of perfection. Fed up and feeling rather embarrassed for showing up to something like this, Mysterious Noblewoman turned on her heel, blinking furiously about to quickly dart out of the vicinity and go home but ended up running head-long into another guest. Stumbling backwards, the heel of her shoe caught on the hem of her dress, tearing it. Damn! she thought, both frustrated and embarrassed. This night was just getting worse and worse. |

The Lady stepped tentatively into the estate, drawing her white shawl tightly around her. She glanced around, eyes searching the newly decorated ceiling. Admittedly, she had never come to this place before, merely seeing it from afar. She had to wonder if it was always this fancy. It was if she had stepped out of Obsidian and into Versailles. For a moment she stood, gazing up into the crystal chandelier. The Lady looked away, smiling to herself. It was almost like home; the fancy dresses, the gilded paintings and golden decorations all had a familiar look to them. She had to marvel at the effort put into this night, did the estate make so grand a transformation at every festival? The Lady smiled again, a slight giddy spell washed over her. She tugged off her shawl, leaving it with the estate worker at the door, and joined the fray. It was a little exhilarating, really. She didn’t recognize a soul, nor did they recognize her if her mask was indeed doing its job. Perhaps she had stepped out of Obsidian and into another kingdom altogether: France, Terabithia, the Court of the Fairies. The Lady allowed herself to entertain these childish and fantastical thoughts, stepping between her fellow guests as she made her way into the estate. Strangers, all of them. Even if she was to know one of them, no names would be exchanged. They would go by their costume’s identity, and she hers. The Lady looked down at her outfit, always mindful of the mask perched on her nose. Perhaps she had gone a little overboard with her costume, but she felt it had been worth it. An off-white gown embroidered with ruffles and all sorts of silly things. She felt a bit like an ornament, but at least she was a pretty one. The dress had been a nightmare to put on, her flailing around with it over her head for a good minute before managing to pull it over her shoulders. The Lady caught sight of herself in the reflection of the gold candelabras, and she smiled with some amount of pride when she noticed her hair. Because the Lady was not content with donning a dress and having done with it, she had spent hours pouring over her hair, eventually getting it up (with the help of a wig) in an exaggerated hairstyle reminiscent of the women of the late 1700s. How they did this every party they went to, she didn’t know, it had hurt like hell. But the result, she liked to think, anyway, was worth it. Her hair was weighed a ton, the curls and waves piled atop her head feeling like lead weights at the moment. Two spaniel curls curled from behind her ears, resting upon her shoulders. God, she hadn’t spent this much time on her appearance since she had moved here. The Lady had forgotten how wonderful it felt to spend hours on your appearance and being happy with the result, perhaps this was how an artist felt when he gazed upon his finished work? She would probably go home and think she looked absolutely ridiculous. Again, like an artist. And though the corset beneath the dress squeezed something awful, the Lady was content with knowing that she would actually have a figure for one night. She passed by the dance floor, already filling with people eager to prove their skills to their faceless, nameless partner. The Lady passed by this without hesitating, dancing had never been her forte. She could waltz and hold her own, but never very well. She did notice, with some amusement, that many of the women were wearing heels. Perhaps she looked out of place with her flat shoes on, but it was covered by her dress, anyway. She stepped around the perimeter of the room, and down the length of the buffet table, her eyes lingering on that chocolate fountain. It will be there later, the Lady thought, I wouldn’t want to get chocolate down my dress so soon after this has begun. At least that was what she told herself, though immediately she reached the bar. “Red wine, if you have it,” she said, smiling to the server. Yes, because that would not stain her dress at all. The server nodded, opening a bottle and pouring her a glass. The Lady thanked him, smiled at him again, and stood off to the side, watching the couples dance. Mood: Relaxed, cheerful Outfit: Hat, Long gray cloak Tag: Mysterious Noblewoman The Mysterious Gray smiled as he entered the room. He was practically glowing with confidence. He wore a long gray cloak, and a gray top hat. He tried his best to fit this... ‘fancy’ theme, without overdoing it. Underneath his cloak was a white shirt with very loose fitting sleeves that closed around the wrist, and there were white gloves on his hands. But for the most part, his outfit consisted of the color gray. Hence, why we call him "Mysterious Gray". Mysterious because he doubted anybody would recognize who he was. He didn't socialize much on this island. So he figured ninety-five percent of the people here wouldn’t know him even if he took off his mask. Hmm... maybe I shouldn't have worn the top hat... He was a very tall man, and the hat wasn’t helping... Luckily, it was a short top hat, not one of those hats that were 3 feet tall or anything. If it were, he'd stick out like the sorest of thumbs, not to mention frighten people away from him. The Gray tipped his hat when the mayor greeted him at the entrance. The mayor watching him with a peculiar expression on his face when the Gray had to duck slightly so he wouldn’t bump his head on the doorway. Stopping after he was a little ways past the entrance, he looked around the room. Taking in the sights of the beautiful chandelier above their heads, the couples dancing about, the tables on the side with food and drinks, and the European furniture. His eyes seemed to glimmer with a hint of excitement. He had been to masquerades before, but something about this one made it feel more charming than the others. He had yet to figure out what it was though. The tall man adjusted his mask slightly, before walking in a bit further. He wasn’t in the mood for alcohol or anything right now. He’d rather dance first. But to dance, you’d need a partner. And he wasn’t sure where to start. Gray’s eyes widened, letting out a grunt when he felt something ram into his side, but he still managed to stay standing firm. He looked at the woman as if she had popped up from nowhere, though the mask obscured the expression in his eyes. But he probably didn't notice her because of his height. A look of pity on his face as he watched the noblewoman tumble backwards and ripped her dress on the heel of her shoe. The Gray's pitying expression quickly changed into a gentle, charming smile as he bent over to help the poor lady. “Oh my… Here, let me help you up.” What little of his face that could be seen held no negative, judgmental expression, whatsoever, as he extended a white-gloved hand out to her. Gently taking her hand, he pulled her back up onto her feet. “Are you alright, Miss?” Well, wasn't that a stupid question to ask. Of course she wasn't. But the Mysterious Gray still tried his best to be polite. |

Dress and Mask Mood: Nervous/Curious Tag: Open She had to admit to herself, it was rather strange to be attending something like this. Indian Princess wasn't the sort to spend a lot of time going out to parties and social events, at least not without a proper escort. She'd done enough to discredit her name, thank you very much. She'd rather not do anything else to smudge her reputation even more. In fact, she would have most likely not even thought of attending at all had her family not begged her to go with them. Even then, she'd been reluctant. Of course, they had had an answer for every excuse. She didn't have anything to wear? Not a problem, she could borrow something of theirs. It wasn't proper to be out so late at night? She'd have family with her, so no need to worry about her virtue. She had other responsibilities at home? So did everyone else, but they were still taking a night off to have fun. Why shouldn't she have some fun as well? Indian Princess smiled softly to herself remembering the lengthy debate. How could she refuse after all of that? After all, she should have known she'd end up being roped into going to this as soon as they had asked her. There was no saying no to her family when they really, really wanted to do something (or someone else to do something, in her case). They would plead and tease and generally act like an eager puppy until you felt so bad for refusing them and making them look like that that you finally relented. Then the defeat was worth it once you saw how their sad, pleading faces turn positively radiant and they started babbling with excitement about all the fun that was going to ensue. Indian Princess covered her mouth to suppress just the smallest laugh, hardly audible at all in all the hustle and bustle of the other guests streaming into the luxurious ballroom to mingle and socialize. She wouldn't tell them this, since she wasn't exactly sure how appropriate it would be given the circumstances that brought them together, but she loved them. All of them. She tried to think of what she would have done without them, and the thought was... well, unpleasant, to put it extremely mildly. She didn't think she'd ever really be able to repay them for being there for her when she'd needed help. She just hoped she was doing a good enough job of showing her appreciation in return. She looked behind her to see where they were. She caught a glimpse of her sister and brother outside through the large open doors, socializing with some other people. Well, she wouldn't interrupt them. As long as her brother wasn't too far away, she could still wander a little bit without worrying about being indecent. Indian Princess smoothed out the silken material of her dress, not wanting to do anything to tear, wrinkle or stain it, since the ornate, pink ensemble was her sister's. Indian Princess was only borrowing it for the night. It had needed quite a few adjustments, but her sister had assured her that she didn't mind and that she could always alter it back to its original size later. It was a breathtaking dress, though the amount of arm showing on one side was a little disconcerting. Apparently, this sort of dress was considered perfectly modest in India, so Indian Princess had bravely decided to be a little daring tonight, comforting herself with the thought (or hope) that no one knew who she was here thanks to her mask, and the fact that her brother was nearby if anyone attempted to smear her virtue which was thankfully mostly intact, at least here. She stepped into the ballroom and her eyes widened behind the delicate mask she wore over her face. This was... beautiful. Every square inch of this large, elegant room was covered in the highest-quality decorations. It reminded her of all the pictures of balls in England in the 1700's she'd seen in her history books back in high school, which meant that her outfit didn't exactly match the decor, but then again, neither did anyone else's. Well, mostly everyone else's. She did spot a woman across the room in a gown of that place and period. Indian Princess quietly slipped through the crowd of people filling the space with some difficulty. It wasn't as easy now as it used to be. She stayed on the outskirts of the large room, enjoying being able to admire the decor and other costumes now, before her brother and sister tracked her down and dragged her onto the dance floor as she was sure they would soon enough. |

Mood: Excited, uncomfortable Outfit: [x] [x] Tag: Open What an evening tonight promised to be, or at least she hoped, for it was her second year attending the silly yet fun Masquerade. Last year had been some what of a bust, depending on how you looked at it, but it still held a few good memories. It was because of those memories that this year would be completely different. Reliving memories was always enjoyable but creating new memories is rather exhilarating. She had done a lot of shopping and prepping for this year’s event, again much unlike last year so surely the outcome wouldn’t be the same. Plus this year she was attending with a friend which would add to the amount of fun she hoped to have. They were going to meet up outside of the estate so they could enter together before beginning the night’s festivities. Now normally she would never wear anything remotely close to a ball gown. Way too fancy and poofy for her taste. Though unfortunately, due to last year, another friend had decided to make a bet with her. He told her there was no way she could ever show up in the appropriate attire required for the night. Now being herself of course, she had accepted the bet. So out she went and bought a ridiculous dress, one that she would probably never wear again in her entire life. The young maiden even went all out in doing her hair, although not too fancy like for she had kept it in a low simple ponytail off to the side, and purple eye make up to match along with shimmery pale pink lip gloss. Now she might have gone a bit far with this but the girl had been looking for an excuse to get one anyways. So she had left the island for a day going out to get herself a small tattoo to somewhat match the theme she was going by tonight, but not in color. She made sure to place it where everyone could see it this evening. On her left shoulder blade. Then last but not least in accessorizing she also wore a small barrette in the shape of a butterfly hear the nape of her neck. She felt she was overdoing it tonight but not many would notice no doubt. Tonight was a night of glitz and glam anyways. Surely there were others bound to be even more done up then she. Once she made it to the estate the girl stepped off to the side out of everyone’s way and sat down on a nearby stone bench. She had arrived a few minutes early but she didn’t mind because for some unknown reason she was enjoying herself just watching other’s arrive in their fancy clothes and mysterious masks. It was exciting wondering if any one of the people could be someone she knows, but there was no way to know for sure until the unmasking at midnight. |

This was not my choice, he mused, curving his lips into a scowl as he made his way toward the Estate, strong arms whisking by his sides as his cape billowed behind him. It was a pleasant reminder to recall that, for whatever reason why he was here, it was nothing that he’d come up with himself. Honestly, what would possibly charm him into coming here? What would be the purpose of seeking exile from a land he was all too familiar with already? Business. It was business. Of course. He quirked a brow as he glanced up at the estate, being bathed in the pleasant warmth that exuded from the building. Hmm. If there was anything that he could say about the Mayor, it was certainly that he knew how to put on a show. He paused for a moment, in fact, and tilted his head slightly to the side, examining the building and the esteem that it generated. However, in the process, he was reminded of just how creepy it sounded to breathe beneath a mask and blinked, hurrying on his way toward the building itself. Otherwise he felt like a frightening stalker waiting for Halloween night before he would strike out and destroy his victims and possibly devour their limbs. Christ, what sort of horror movies did YOU watch as a child? He gave a little roll of his eyes, making his way up the stairs as he swept his long cape to the side and proceeded into the open doors, immediately being inundated by conversation, classical music, and the smells of food floating by from another table. …hmm. Food. Definitely food. He floated toward that smell as if being carted along by his nose like a wolf in a cartoon toward a pig. It was exquisite and reminded him, in fact, of the fact that he hadn’t eaten before he had arrived. It had been a foolish venture, perhaps, but he was finding that he very much didn’t want to eat a great deal as it was lately. It was a chore just to force his appetite to accept anything. He supposed it was an aftershock of sorts. The aftershock, however, he preferred not to dwell on if he could avoid it. “Good evening, si-” “Excuse me.” He brushed by the mayor without pause, barely even sparing him a glance, before he ended up at the buffet and drew in a deep breath through the very shallow nose holes in his mask. Christ, he was going to pass out before the night was over, wasn’t he? Perhaps I shall be lucky and shall land on an ample bosom. At least my subconscious shall be entertained. He grabbed a plate and immediately collected a few items, making his way toward a table and sitting down shortly afterward. It was only then that he remembered his mask didn’t have an opening for his mouth. “…” He could cry. “…waste not, I suppose,” he murmured gruffly, snagging the bottom of the mask and lifting it just enough to expose his thin lips. The delicious taste of pork on his tongue was so far beyond worth it that he could not even articulate it. Outfit: Here Tag: Open. |

![]() Tag: Open She sweeps through the crowd, her eyes roaming the area from behind her mask. Her attire drew much attention, as just the mere sigh of her mask would give anyone a small surprise. Her boots click lightly on the tile below, but only those with a trained ear could hear the sound. No matter, they are not important. These boots were made for walking, and that's what they'll do. Dancing was not part of tonight's plan, anyway. The plan, was to simply observe the inhabitants of this small island, and see if any communication could be made. This island seemed to be full of festivities. No matter what the season, a grand party was to be held. And what fortunate weather! A strange phenomenon. Fall showers had pass through these parts not to long ago, a day or two. But now, the moon shone brightly, some remnants of the full moon still evident. How peculiar indeed. Divine continued on, her robe sweeping with her, the end of her shirt following in its path, but not by much. The girl brushes her way into the hall, paying no heed to others around her. First thing first, find all the exits. Then food. Then, a good hiding spot. All in case "things go down". What things, she did know. Something was bound to happen, one way or another. Fate would not be kind to her, here in this place full of mysterious strangers. They danced to the music, ate their fancy looking food, and drank their heart outs. Far to soon in the evening to be doing so, isn't it? What woes have already presented themselves so early in the evening? The night was young, time to party. At least, in their mind's eye. To know one's enemy, you must think like them first. Fine, she'll drink to her hearts content. This would benefit no one but herself. But who really needed an excuse to drink. Ack, wine. No beer tonight. For shame, a light buzz would have kept her mood very elated. Though, getting drunk like that would spoil the whole setting, should she reveal her identity. Fine, this drink will be served. "Surprise me" she said to the bartender, who was all dolled up for the occasion as well. "Australian Dry do you any good?' he asked, pouring a red drink into her cup. She shook her head, veil shaking. The man handed the cup over, which she gratefully took. Only after she had moved some ways off did Divine tilt up her mask, granting the drink access to her mouth. Eh, not to bad. Shifting her mask back into place, the girl moved on to the foods. Tonight's palette consisted of many things that would be delightful dipped in chocolate. If all else fails. turn to the cocoay goodness that was chocolate. Setting down her glass, the girl grabbed a small plate, and began loading it with assorted snacks. Which soon were drowned in chocolate. Satisfied, she picked up her glass and moved off to a free table. Her "meal" was in place, as she was soon. Lifting up the mask slightly, food and wine made a steady trip towards her mouth. Mm, delightful. A fine selection for this grand party before her. Only time will tell how this evening would turn out. Time will tell.... |

Mood: Embarrassed Outfit: Dress & Mask Tag: Mysterious Gray ---------- Damn it all! Why hadn't she just stayed home like she normally did? Mysterious Noblewoman's cheeks flushed crimson underneath her mask and she was glad that no one could see her face. At least no one would know who they were gossiping about tomorrow when people recounted one clumsy fat lady who had torn her dress not two minutes into the affair. If she sneakily left before midnight, she wouldn't have to take off her mask and reveal herself. These thoughts were only slightly comforting as Mysterious Noblewoman sheepishly took the man's hand and allowed him to help her to her feet. God, he must think she was a complete idiot. She didn't blame him. She thought she was a complete idiot, too. Daring to look up at the tall man who had aided her after she so rudely ran into him, she tried to read his expression, but it was difficult when most of his face was covered. She thought his mouth was curved into a slight smile, however. He's probably tryin' hard not teh burst out laughin' at me, she thought dejectedly. In fact, as she chanced a quick glance around, she saw that many of the people who had been around them had stopped to stare at the two of them and some of them were giggling and whispering to each other. Suddenly, Mysterious Noblewoman felt like she was in school again, except there had been no escaping the taunting of her classmates back then. It was difficult to hide from people in a boarding school where everyone lived in the same building and you shared a dormitory with several other girls. How funny that something like this could bring memories from so many years ago back again so easily. The Mysterious Gray who had helped her up spoke, asking her if she was alright. Mysterious Noblewoman looked down at the ugly tear in the hem of her otherwise lovely dress, her heart sinking. She had spent a lot of time looking for this dress and a lot of money purchasing it. Now it was ruined and this was the first time she'd worn it. Not to mention there were people gawking and laughing at her idiotic blunder, and she'd no doubt ruined Gray's night by ploughing into him like the bulldozer she was. No, no she was not alright. She was humiliated and her dress was ruined and she felt like a flea-ridden cow in a field of well-groomed, dainty Arabian horses and she just wanted to go home before the night got any worse. "Er... aye, I'm alright," she mumbled. "Thank ye fer yer help. I probably would have floundered around there on the ground fer ages before I managed teh get up in this blasted thing," she added with a weak chuckle, not knowing if she was being funny or not, but figuring she could at least try to lighten the mood and salvage some of his night, even if hers was completely trashed. "Sorry I ran inta ye like that, lad. I have a bad habit o' not lookin' where I'm goin'. It tends teh get me in situations like this a lot, though I suppose the masks don't help folk teh see very well, especially in this lightin'..." Suddenly realizing she was babbling incessantly, Mysterious Noblewoman abruptly stopped and gave a weak, nervous laugh. "I er... have a tendency teh babble when I'm nervous, too... but ye can probably already tell that..." she ended awkwardly, clearing her throat. Why was social interaction so difficult? When she was in the office, she felt secure and in-control of situations. She knew how to talk to clients professionally and did so easily, but outside work, she was utterly clueless. |

Outfit: [X] Mood: Excited, Confident, Cheerful Tag: Apatura Iris A mysterious nobleman clad in a fine black suit and top hat smiled as he made his way towards the mayor’s large estate. He walked with a air of confidence that was normally quite uncommon to him but tonight, with his identity safely hidden behind a mask, it seemed to come easily. He was sure if some of the party goers found out who he was they would almost all agree that this would have been the last place they expected to see him and on any other night the mysterious nobleman would have probably agreed with them. This night however was different, it was special. He wasn’t really sure what it was about wearing the mask that made things different. It was a good possibility that he knew many of the people who were attending the party tonight but for some reason it just became easier for him when no one knew who he was. The anonymity provided him with a barrier that he could hide all of his insecurities and social awkwardness behind and just be himself which was exactly what he planned to do this evening. He was confident that he would be able to blend in and be just another face in the crowd and so long as he made his escape before the unmasking no one would find him out. Making sure to adjust his bowtie and fix his mask firmly in place the nobleman continued along the path to the estate. He took a moment to look around at some of the other party goers along the way and really take in the scene around him. Any one of these people could be someone he knew and yet they all looked the same right now. Sure there were different costumes and masks, sure the people varied in shape or size but there was no way to tell who someone was, not for sure. Some people had actually gotten quite creative with their costumes. The nobleman saw people dressed up in everything from very simple cloaks to elaborate dresses from different time periods. He even found himself feeling a little out of place with some of the fancier costumes. His costume had just been an old suit that he found in his closet, probably his dads. It was a little big for him but he filled out the long black coat well enough. It was kind of strange to think that even though he had never met his father they seemed to be very similar, at least in body types. The nobleman paused for a moment right before he entered the estate as his eyes found a young maiden sitting by herself on a nearby bench. She seemed a little familiar to him but then again you could never really be sure on a night like tonight. Still he wondered why was she sitting out here and not going inside to enjoy the party like everyone else. The night was young and there was too much fun to be had to waste it out here just watching the crowd pass. That just would not do at all. Walking over to the girl he fixed her with a warm, friendly smile. “Good evening M’lady. I hope I’m not intruding but I couldn’t help but notice you sitting over here all alone.” He tried his best to stay in character. After all half the fun was in the act but the confidence with which he spoke surprised even him. “The night is still young and the cold night air is no place for a fair maiden like yourself to be. I would be honored to escort this evening if you are looking for someone to accompany you inside.” With that he offered a hand in case she wanted to take it, after all he was supposed to be a nobleman he might as well act noble and gentlemanly. |

Mood: Cheerful, excited, slightly nervous Tag:Apatura Iris Dress Mask Shoes She had a feeling this would be a lot more fun than last year. The woman dressed in all white strolled up to the estate, smiling warmly as she examined the huge house, and her gaze was turned on to a woman dressed in all purple. She strolled over to her to talk, seing as how she didn't really wanna go in alone.... But before going over, she examined the girl, seeing juust a bit of the toes that appeared to be sneakers popping out from under thee dress. That was a niiiice touch. "Hey." she greeted the girl with a grin. "Nice choice of sneakers. Adds a bit of edge to the costume, eh?" she asked with a small chuckle. Before the girl could respond another man had walked over. She looked over at him, eyebrow raised. He was wearing a green tuxedo, and one of those top hats that were, like, five feet tall. She gave him a nod before turning back to the purple girl. She adjusted herself, not being very used to wearing high heels. They made her look taller though, and so that was a plus. |

Mood: Impatient, excited, nervous Outfit: [x][x] Tag: Snow White Queen, The Mysterious Nobleman The evening held a slight chill which seemed to evelope around the poor girl who was sitting all alone waiting patiently for her friend. Perhaps it was even more then just a slight chill for Apatura Iris sat there on the bench trying her best to hold back the few shivers that threatened her so. She couldn't believe that she hadn't thought to bring some sort of wrap or a jacket to keep herself warm. It was nearly Winter for goodness sake. If only her friend would arrive soon then they could disappear into the warmth of the glowing building. It looked so inviting, enough to where she had thought about going inside even before her friend arrived. Normally she wouldn't care all that much but tonight was different. She was nervous and slightly uncomfortable and walking into the building all alone would add to her lack of self confidence she had tonight. Goosebumps began to appear on her bare arms as the girls eyes continued to watch a few more villagers arrive in all sorts of different costumes. Apatura Iris bet that this part of the night would most likely be the most exciting for her, except for maybe kicking back a few alcoholic drinks.. that is if they served them this year. Nonetheless she'd try to have a good time, for the sake of her friend whom she had nearly begged to come along with her. Right before she was about to give up and walk inside, not caring about the embarassment walking in alone would bring upon her, her friend all dressed in white finally showed up. The white beauty commented on her not-so-formal shoes which were peaking out beneath her dress. Then at nearly the same time another villager walked up to her greeting her with a gentle smile that was rather inviting. "Good evening," she replied with a slid nod while bringing out her southern accent to disguise herself with, although it sounded rather odd mixing it with such formal words. Before she could say much more the man wearing a top hat offered to escort her for the night, or at least inside. The sudden invite sort of threw her off a bit. Never before had anyone ever spoken to her with such kind lavishing words. Her heart seemed to skip a beat at the excitement of it all, causing her to non-intentionally forget her friend for the moment and the sharp cool air. She had to remind herself that tonight was a night of diguise, of mystery. So whoever this gentleman was he was most likely just trying to play the part. It didn't matter much right now though for tonight was somewhat like a game. One that she planned to play along. She sat there silent for a moment searching for the words in which to say, hoping they would come off just as mannerly as his own. "I'd be delighted," she finally said keeping her accent the same as a tender smile of her own appeared. Then reaching out, the girl placed her slender hand in his own. After standing up the girl finally remembered her friend once again. "Oh, I'm sorry. This is my friend," turning around the girl notioned over to the one dressed in white, "We were going to meet up tonight and appear together. Perhaps ya wouldn't mind escorting us both?" |

Mood: Relaxed, cheerful Outfit: Hat, Long gray cloak Tag: Mysterious Noblewoman The Mysterious Gray let out a sigh of relief when she said she was alright. And chuckled at her comment. He couldn't help but admire how she could let out a joke even after what had just happened. He shook his head softly at the Mysterious Noblewoman, "Oh, it's quite alright, Miss. No need to apologize, it was an accident after all." He spoke as smooth as honey, accentuating the 'was'. The Mysterious Gray nodded his head and smiled slightly as he listened to the woman talk. Not in the least bit was he aggravated by her 'babbling.' Hmmm.... judging by her accent, I'd guess she's... Irish? Hmm.... Let's see, how many Irish women has the Mysterious Gray met...? None? Well, there weren't any that rung a bell with him, at least. The Gray looked around the room. There were couples, happily dancing without a care in the world. A few were enjoying snacks and drinks. The lighting here was a bit unusual, and hard to see in, much like Mysterious Noblewoman had said, but it made everything glow beautifully. And the music that was being played was very lovely, indeed. This place was like something you’d see in a fairytale. Then he glanced at the few people still gawking, whispering, and giggling about the ordeal they had just seen, before he finally looked at the ugly tear in the Noblewoman’s dress. Poor girl, she would probably be running home as soon as she could without being rude to him. He frowned. This event was for people to have a good time, and enjoy themselves. Not to be humiliated and whatnot. The Mysterious Gray just wasn’t the type to let someone go by without enjoying themselves at least a little. There must have been some way he could save the day for her. Think… think… I got it. Well, since he was in need of a dance partner, he might as well. The Mysterious Gray extended his hand, and spoke with the utmost confidence in his voice. ”Pardon me, but, would you… care do dance?” He as absolutely serious, whether she could see is in his face or not. |

Outfit: [X] Mood: Excited, Confident, Cheerful Tag: Apatura Iris, Snow White Queen The nobleman nodded politely at the lady in white as he joined the two women. He had been beaten to the punch again but perhaps all was not lost. He had come to the party tonight looking for a little fun and the more the merrier as the saying went. Besides he couldn’t very well go back on his offer now, that just wasn’t his way at all. Still, he hoped he wasn’t getting in deeper than he could handle with all this. Social events like this weren’t exactly his cup of tea. The mysterious nobleman smiled at the maiden’s words. Her accent was nice if perhaps a bit forced. She seemed to be using it as a way to cover her identity more than anything else. Perhaps she had lived in the south at some point and had sort of grown out of it now that she was here in Obsidian. Of course he could be putting too much thought into this. Tonight was a night of deception and he was sure that most of the guests, himself included, would be trying anything to conceal their identities. He had always been one to notice the details though and it was hard to turn that part of him off even for one night. What pleased the nobleman more than the girl’s accent was that his disguise seemed to be working. If he could keep this up he wouldn’t having anything to worry about and that helped him to relax a little. Not having to constantly worry about people finding out who he really was would make things easier on him and give him a chance to enjoy the night which was exactly what he planned on doing. “Wonderful!” The nobleman said as he took the maiden’s hand. He helped her to her feet providing her with a little added stability in case she had any trouble getting up in her elaborate dress. He was glad that the girl had decided to take him up on his offer. Things were already looking up and maybe this would prove to be a very memorable evening. Besides if his luck continued to hold out, and he succeeded in not making a fool of himself, who knew what could happen. The two of them were being rude though. In his rush to focus on a seemingly lonely damsel he had completely forgotten about the lady in white, as had the young maiden apparently. Turning with her as she introduced her friend the nobleman met the white clad girl with a friendly smile and proceeded to give her a slight bow taking off his hat as he did so. “It’s truly an honor to meet you both. The Mysterious Nobleman at your service.” He raised himself up again to his full height deftly brushing a few strands of his messy brown hair out of his face before tapping his top hat back on his head. With his hat back in place he addressed them both without a moment of hesitation to think of something to say. “Well as long as I’m not interrupting your evening my offer still stands. So long as your friend doesn’t mind it would be my pleasure to escort you both.” The nobleman didn’t want to take away from the two friends having this opportunity to attend together but so long as it wouldn’t be a problem he saw no harm in accompanying both of the girls. In fact he would have probably felt horrible if he had not thought to extend his invitation. Offering his other hand to the young maiden’s friend he gave the same friendly smile just happy to be here and to be of service. “If there are no objections shall we get in from the cold? The warmth inside is surely a more inviting place for introductions.” |

Mood: Excited, Cheerful, Charming Tag: Mysterious Nobleman, Apatura Iris Dress Mask Shoes The snow white girl smiled at her friend before turning to Mister Tophat. She felt....what was the word? Awkward? Yeah, awkward. Maybe she should have left earlier? That way she wouldn't have had to interrupt because she'd have already been inside with her friend. Though it's like she always said. The more the merrier, right? "Oh, I don't mind at all." she said doing a bit of a teasing curtsey towards the man in the tophat. Perhaps her choice in wardrobe was a bit too...princess-y for her taste? It was a gorgeous dress and mask. And the shoes were lovely as well however it wasn't too much in her taste. It was just....weird. She never showed her bare shoulderts unless swimming. Even in summer she always wore short sleeved shirts only. Although her friend here wasn't the type for dresses either. It didn't make her feel as odd, though her friend had those edgy sneakers whereas she went all out with being a classy lady tonight.... Ah, she was thinking too much. Holding out her arm teasingly to the man, she smirked. "Shall we, my good man?" |
