Winter 5 Year 7 9:58am Eighteen. An adult. Finally. Min Hee smiled smugly as she smoothed out the front of her uniform. For several seconds, she considered herself in the mirror until, satisfied with her appearance, she winked at her reflection then turned on her heel. Today would be a good day. It had to be. Beautiful young women like her weren’t supposed to have bad birthdays. Especially not bad eighteenth birthdays. Any attractive man that happened to stop by today was now free game. As an adult, she had every right to flirt with fellow adults, didn’t she? The young woman breezed into the main area of the café and twirled behind the counter, unable to keep the grin off her face. If Kyung-Soon were here, she’d have no right to stop me anymore! Humming a cheerful tune, she skipped over to unlock the door and officially open the Fluorite Café for the day. “Now come to me, super cute, awesome guys!” she exclaimed, raising her hands into the air as if she were a queen commanding her people. Then, giggling, she went back behind the counter to wait for the first customers to arrive. |

So far his work here was slow moving and this frustrated him. A little bit, anyway. Although he managed to keep his head screwed straight on his shoulders, he could feel himself beginning to lose control. While he was sure he could hang on, it was impossible to ascertain just how long he would be able to keep this up for. A season? A week? A day? An hour? A wry smile crept onto his lips as he entered the cafe, eyes narrowed at the floor. He had no idea. But unless he got busy, and got busy fast, well. It would surely only be a matter of time. And until his situation reached either extreme of ultimate success or miserable failure, the time bomb would be ticking.

"Tick, tick, tock," he uttered under his breath, pulling the hood of his black coat down as he walked into the restaurant. Wiping off the slight snow that powdered his boots, he stood by the entrance and glanced around. While the clock ticked away, he still had to keep at it. Even though Gabriel rather doubted he would run into anything of interest here... well, he had no better place to go. Besides, an opportunity to grab breakfast could never hurt.

Running a hand, smoothing down his mildly tousled hair, he glanced around. It was still early; so early that it seemed the cafe had just opened. It was absolutely deserted except for himself and... "Min Hee." Her name rose to his lips in an instant, and suddenly, the slight distaste that stained his features was wiped clean. Smiling broadly and brightly, he approached the counter, his eyes alight with delight. Perhaps I was too quick to doubt your ways, he thought, turning his face around and up to the ceiling as he walked, as if studying the decor.

When he reached the counter, the blonde stopped. He rested his arms on the top, leaning forward slightly. "Well, if there ever was a sight for sore eyes." His features glowed, his face doused in a serene and completely genuine cheer. "Long time no see, my lovely Min Hee."

[/doHTML] |

If any decent-looking young man had strolled into the cafe, she would have been happy. However, the first customer that walked through the door was not just decent. He was gorgeous… And familiar. A shiver went up Min Hee’s spine at the sound of her name, and her already cheerful smile became even larger and more pleased. Without having to think, she answered him, “Gabriel~!” Nearly two seasons had passed since she’d first met-- and set her sights on-- the young man, but she hadn’t forgotten him for a moment. That day in the summer, it had already been decided: She, Min Hee Ko, would have him for herself, even if only for a day. As she adjusted to living alone, Gabriel had become like a prize at the back of her mind; something to be won once she gained more experience… And she had! Becoming an adult counted for something, right? “Aww, I missed you~” she spoke with a sweet voice, resting her elbows on the counter to place her head in her hands. “Sooo~ Where have you been? You didn’t get snatched up by some other pretty girl, hm~?” On this last word, she leaned forward, her face inches from his. |

Gabriel's face seemed to shine even brighter. While he didn't make a habit of it, it was hard not to feel even a little joy out of her greeting. Especially when it had been so bright, and his days had been so dull. Still grinning, he also found it difficult not to let his happiness grow as Min Hee continued speaking, her voice dripping with a sugary sweetness. “Aww, I missed you~”

Almost as a result of his own joy, though, he wasted no time kicking things into a more flirtacious gear. "Oh really? Maybe later you can show me just how much you missed me." He chuckled lightly, jokingly as he eased back into the man he knew her as. He found himself feeling a bit stiff, at first, as if he were putting on a new pair of shoes. But, Gabriel swiftly poured all his focus on getting this right. After all, they had a little 'game' going, did they not? What kind of man would he be if he didn't give it his all?

“Sooo~ Where have you been? You didn’t get snatched up by some other pretty girl, hm~?” Min Hee moved forward, also getting into their game. Her face came close to his and hovered barely a finger's length away. At this distance he could see her light pink eyes up close and, oddly, he was rather fascinated by them. This entrancement came at a convenient time, too, as they soon led his own light brown eyes to be completely fixed on hers. Lowering his voice slightly, he moved his face even closer to hers. There was little space to close, so he quickly had to stop before he made actual contact.

"Oh, here and there," he said, voice quieter and lower than before. He held her eyes, staring deep into them. "Truthfully I've been quite busy..." Please forgive my lies, he thought dryly to himself. Then, he let his eyes fall, his eyelashes fluttering slightly as his soft, warm gaze sat upon her lips briefly before meeting her eyes once more. "... You know. Being snatched up by hoardes of pretty girls and whatnot." Suddenly chuckling again, Gabriel stood up straight and stepped back, putting his hands in his pockets. A sort of boyish delight danced out of nowhere onto his features, lighting up his eyes and throwing yet another smile on his face. He winked at her before swiftly changing the subject:

"So, Miss Min Hee, care to take a seat with me? It doesn't seem you're all too busy yet, after all."

[/doHTML] |
