WHITE DAY
Winter 14th;; Year 07 || 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM
This year, a slightly different festival has been thrown into the mix. It is called 'White Day', and traditionally it involves men repaying women who gave them chocolates on Valentine's Day with gifts of their own. Well, somewhere in the translation, the festivities have been blown up from that to rather epic proportions.

And it shows in the cafe. Or what appears to be the cafe, anyway. The layout is quite different - in fact, it looks more like some sort of beauty salon rather than a food establishment. In terms of decorations, though, things are actually quite tame. The muted, neutral tones of the cafe have been spiced up by sprinkles of white and red. The decorations are subtle and even rather scarce, as to not clash too much with the interior of the cafe. Small chains of sparkling red hearts line the tables and chairs, and translucent white streamers hang over doorways and windows. The ambiance is further enforced by the soft overtones of easy listening music that play throughout the room. Generally the air in the cafe seems rather relaxing, rather than that of a hectic, high-energy party.

As for the layout and contents of the cafe, they have clearly been rearranged with the usual needs and wants of women in mind. The five tables that are scattered around the room have been rearranged to house different services. A pedicurist-manicurist has been brought in from the island to work on women's nails and has set up on the table closest to the entrance. A massage therapist has set up on a table just past that one, and seems to be offering a small lesson on their trade, as well as treatments themselves. Nearby a setup of flowers has been laid out, with a smiling florist behind them, ready to sell the flora. The table further back has an array of cosmetics and perfumes out for sale, as well as makeovers available for those who wish. And the final table has been pushed up against the back wall and bears a special White Day menu (consisting completely of chocolates and indulgence) along with a few staff to take orders and dish out orders.

A rather nice setup, especially for women looking to indulge themselves a little bit. However, since it is White Day, the festivities here still call back to their roots. Upon entering, people will meet a sign that says (in curly, feminine font), 'All men accompanying women MUST pay for their expenses!~ No exceptions~ :red' And with such a simple sign, the setup is even nicer - for women, at least. Granted, things aren't too fair for men, but... well, the Mayor himself is taking no responsibility for this whatsoever... it seems his wife is the mastermind behind this festival.

But... surely just a bit of pampering for one day won't hurt... anything except wallets, at least.

"I have a feeling we're doing this wrong," proclaimed Chris, stepping into the cafe, Abe at her side. This was not orthodox, not normal, not sane. That's probably why she liked it so much. A few eyes turned in their direction, the strange couple that walked, arms linked, into the cafe. At a glance they looked normal. Chris dressed in a suit, Abe in a dress.

Until you took a closer look.

Now, Abe was no Arnold or Chuck Norris. Hardly the epitome of manliness, but he didn't look entirely girly. When you looked at him, dress or no, you could tell that ain't no gal. He was 100% man... biologically speaking. They walked to the counter, heads held high. Chris couldn't help but smile, all these eyes upon her, geez this town was small. It was like they'd never seen a guy wear a dress before.

"Do you think I care?" said Abe with a teasing grin, stepping forward in his girly shoes, taking her by the hand. "Now, I want a manicure! And food!" He spun Chris around, laughing. "Whee~ This is fun. Dresses!" The man flounced off, sitting at a table.

It had been a while since they'd done this, like old times. She pulled back the seat for him. "After you, mademoiselle~" she said, winking. They were probably the only couple who were not actually a couple, but why did that matter?

"Why thank you!" Abraham said, sitting down and pushing a lock of blonde hair behind his shoulder. "Hmm, I think I'd like some hot fudge brownie." He announced as Chris sat across from him. The waitress that had hovered beside them, staring at Abe a moment before nodding and going to fill the order.

"Happy White Day," Chris said, grinning at her companion and raising an empty mug.

"Happy White Day!" he echoed, clinking it together with hers.

"A-Are you sure?" Mary asked, face flushed a bit, for the twentieth time as she and Tenjukai entered the cafe. She was wearing a long, light blue Chinese-style kimono, with flower petal designs strewn about it. Mary wasn't used to wearing dresses out in public, and she was a bit self-conscious about it, but had decided that this was a good enough excuse to defuse that fear.

"Yes, I want to do this," Tenj replied. He glanced down at Mary, and noticed the way she was fidgeting slightly. While this wasn't a date, per say -- Tenjukai had specifically asked her as friend only -- he was still feeling slightly nervous about coming with her. This was a big day, important event, and he'd wanted to look the part. So, coinciding with the 'White Day' theme, Tenj had chosen to wear his white suit.

"...Alright. Thank you, Tenjukai." She glanced up at him, and smiled warmly. Her glasses were falling down a bit - they had a nasty habit of doing that. Smiling back at her, Tenj motioned at this on his own face. Mary blushed a bit more, and fumbled with her glasses while fixing them. He chuckled.

I haven't seen her this nervous in a while. I wonder wha...t... Tenjukai had glanced away from Mary, intending on looking for an empty table. However, he trailed off when he noticed something... strange. A red haired woman was seated, across from a blonde haired woman. But. That wasn't the odd thing. Oh no.

What was odd, was the fact that the blonde wasn't actually a female at all; clearly, they were a male. In a dress. Pretending to be a woman. Tenj blinked, and stared momentarily. Dumbfounded. He pulled a face that was quite comical, and very uncharacteristic of him. He just... didn't know what to think. What in the world--

"Tenjukai? You okay?" Mary's voice snapped him from his state. He glanced back at her, and gave a sheepish smile before nodding.

"Yeah. Yeah, I'm fine. Let's go grab a table." Though he hesitated, Tenjukai eventually took Mary's hand and the two began to scourer the cafe for a place to sit.
