She was a few minutes later than originally promised, and she mentally kicked herself for not coming back from her break sooner. This had been sort of important, though. Her sister was leaving on the next ferry, and who knows how long it would be until they’d see each other again. But after a few tearful goodbyes and a send-off, Aspen was once again ready to get back to business. <br><br>She threw on an apron and tied it with a swift knot, and after giving her hands a good rinse under the sink, walked over to join in whatever cooking and prep work needed to be done. There was a wonderful aroma in the kitchen, and she saw a few unfinished dishes lined up on the counter. Someone had been very busy while she was gone. She added the last touches and arranged the food, and sent it out with a waitress. She looked around for the assistant chef, hoping that Juliet wasn’t overworking herself tonight. <br><br>(ooc: sucky title, sorreh ^^ ) </td> </tr> </table></div> [/dohtml] |

Ah, what a day. She had been working her behind off all day. She quickly began to take the brownies out of the oven. "Kyaa....they're completely flat." she said, noticing the brownies didn't rise. "Oh dear." she said trying to wipe the chocolate batter off her cheek. And on top of that, she had to fill her eclairs with chocolate custard, and finish making the pudding. She at least got the cheesecake ready and hurried it out. "Miss Aspen! I have the cheesecake ready." she said dashing towards Aspen with the food careful not to fall. |

All the multi-tasking was tough, but also the key to surviving in the kitchen. The flat brownies were a problem, though. They definitely couldn’t send those out, the customers wouldn’t like it. She bit her lip, trying to think of how they could get the brownies out in time. <br><br>There was just enough batter left to make another batch. It would be a tight schedule, but it was still possible to finish the order. Smiling, Aspen handed the bowl of custard filling to Juliet and grabbed a box of baking powder. There hadn’t been enough in the last batch which would explain why the brownies came out flat. She popped the tray into the oven and set the timer, turning around to give a thumbs-up to Juliet and hopefully encourage her on doing a good job so far. Mistakes happened, and she had certainly made a few of them herself. In any case, having the extra help in the kitchen was a total lifesaver. </td> </tr> </table></div> [/dohtml] |

Saved by the Aspen! Juliet thought happily. She smiled as she stirred the batter, happy to have some help. She then went to the oven to place the new batch in before going over to the bowls of icing. "Excuse me, Aspen, could you be so kind and hand me the red icing? A little girl wanted a piece of cake, and I thought maybe she'd like pink icing~" she said with her bright smile. After asking for that she began filling bowls with ice cream, topped with different things. She wondered if a job as a waitress would be less stressful....no way, she was happy with her job as a cook. Because she could get messy and not get yelled at by a certain older sister. |

She thought they had gone over this during the first meeting, but Juliet must have forgotten. Mouthing the word, "Yell!", Aspen reminded her that the only way to get a word across was to yell at her. Because otherwise, the words would literally fall on deaf ears. She wasn’t sure if the girl was willing to do it though, she supposed it could be considered rude to some people. <br><br>And so the game of charades began. Squinting ever so slightly, she tried hard to figure out what Juliet wanted. They were both standing by the bowls, so naturally Aspen guessed that she was asking for the icing. She held up the two different colors, letting her pick either the one on the left or the right. </td> </tr> </table></div> [/dohtml] |

Juliet looked at the two icings she held up. She shouted out "Can you hand me the red dye please?!" with her hands cupped around her lips. She looked back at the oven. It had about two minutes left. She quickly walked over and took the icing hurrying back over and mixing the dye into the icing. After she finished mixing it she began t ospread while singing a bit. |

She added it to the shopping list on the fridge, taking note to stop by the grocery store tomorrow. <br><br>After improvising with the doughnut filling and finishing the icing on a batch of croissants, she walked over to Juliet and slipped her a note.
