In this role play, it's a travel back in time! Your characters -- as children! Ages can be whatever you want, and play however your character would have been at that age. Just please be sure to mention how old they are, so others can keep that in mind. =3 And most important of all....have fun! The bell for recess rang out, followed immediately by a chorus of joyous cries from the children. Out onto the playground poured out a myriad of students, of various ages. Towards the back of the crowd, there were two children...both wearing a black cowboy hat. One child was bigger than the other, yet younger, at his seven years of age. The smaller one, much smaller, was twelve. The smaller child strode up to the taller one, and, by the taller one's reaction, it was evident that this was not the first time... "Zed, please not t'day..." The older child said, averting his gaze and backing up a step. This boy's clothing was rather raggedy looking, well worn, with quite a few patches here and there. To make it longer here, patch up a tear there... The shorter boy had better quality clothing, yet even without the hat, still looked cowboy-ish. "What makes t'day different from any other day, Allen?" Zedekiah asked, placing his hands on his hips as he glared up at the younger boy. Clint sighed and just stared at him, frowning. There was one main reason why Zedekiah wasn't fond of him, and he knew all to well what it was. He couldn't fathom it, didn't understand why it mattered, but yeah he knew what it was. "Just 'cause I'm taller than you, is no reason for hate." Clint reminded the older child, crossing arms over his chest. At the word 'taller,' Zedekiah stamped his foot and growled. "I am NOT. Short." Zed growled up at Clint, and Clint just rose an eyebrow at him. Then he, Clint, began to smile. "I never said you were..." The younger of the two pointed out, tilting his head with a small grin. Zed blinked up at him, seeming suddenly confused... ((Buh...sorry for the qaulity of this post. ;-; But yeah, anyone that wants to join, feel free to jump right in!)) |

"We... probably shouldn't be doing this, Zenos." A 13 year old, black haired boy spoke meekly, and he cautiously glanced over his shoulder toward the playground. "Oh, hush up and just keep watch. I'm almost done." Zenos, 14, mumbled, his orange hair blowing with a breeze as he gracefully continued to spray paint the side of the school building. The younger boy shifted nervously and wondered, again, if he should tell Zenos to stop. But, he knew he wouldn't listen. So, instead, the boy stayed quiet and did as he was told, occasionally glancing over his shoulder to watch for any school staff that may venture over, or too close. |

"Hey, what're you doing?!" A boy yelled. "Yeah, cut that out!" A young girl echoed, obviously not very pleased. But, 13 year old Tyson ignored them all. He continued to hop across the squares, drawn in chalk, on the ground. His red hair bouncing as he went. But there was something amiss, wrong about all this. You see, Ty was hopping - backwards - going the opposite way, before turning around and repeating the process. Why? Was he showing off? No. Was he trying to get attention? Nah. Was he doing it solely to annoy others and be a jerk? Bingo! |

Rosealye, her hair pulled back into a bun with a large bow of her mother's choosing, strode out onto the playground. The seven year old had just moved there from England, and was still having a tough time adjusting to the culture shock. Not to mention no one seemed willing to talk to her because of her accent; it was frustrating to say the least. But she wouldn't let it show! So as she exited the school building she had every intention of going to the swings and simply watching the other children play. Scanning the crowd, she saw one child hopping...backwards? Americans... Still, she watched him for a moment, rather interested in his odd behavior. "I am NOT. Short." Blinking, Rose turned to find that a few feet away were two boys in cowboy hats; she remembered them from her class, though with the way the were dressed they were hard to miss. Clearly the two were arguing, over...how tall they were? "I never said you were..." Glancing over at the taller of the two, Rose saw him smile. And instantly decided she would go over there, if only to figure out why he was smiling. Walking over to them, hands straightening out her dress, she stood next to the shorter of the two, being taller than him by a few inches. "What are you two arguing about...?" she meant to say this louder, but in a vain attempt to hide her accent, it came out as a mumble. ...bugger. |

"Could you be more self obsessed?! All you ever THINK about is your own butt but I guess it does require alot of thought! Given that it's huge!" 14 year old Madison snapped as she kicked her long time rival, Shelby in the rear with her sneaker. But hey, after your best friend just had her boyfriend stolen by your rival, you'd do the same. Shelby turned with a pissed off look on her face, before slapping Madison who glared at her with a look that could kill, she then grabbed Shelby by the hair and pushed her into a wall, leading her hair to being pulled itself. Hair pulling, clawing, scratching, and Madison even bit Shelby at one point before the two were pulled apart. Lisa and Sara holding her back, a teacher holding back Shelby. The two glared at each other before Madison was sent to the principle's office....AGAIN! |

"What are you two arguing about...?" Clint shifted his gaze over to see a girl about his age, with a huge bow floating over her head. ... Oh, it was pinned to her hair, he quickly realized, which was done up in some sort of way. He looked her up and down a few seconds, taking in first her mumbled accent, and then her dress. Her accent was somewhat intriguing to him, he had never heard anyone speak like that before. Just as he was about to open his mouth to reply, Zedekiah beat him to it. "Ain't nothin' concernin' you, English Lady, so if you could please scoot." Zedekiah told her, making shooing motions with his hands. "Nothin' personal, 'course." Zed added, apparently remembering the manners that his parents had been trying to teach him, in just under the buzzer. "We weren't arguin'," Clint said with a small glare aimed at Zed, before again switching his gaze to Rosealye. "...Rose, right?" He asked, thinking he remembered her being introduced into their class not all that long ago. He had never talked to her though, not until...well, now. But from her appearance, he wouldn't be guessing that they were into the same or even remotely similar types of things. She looked like a real girl-y girl, and the images of tea parties suddenly marched through his brain. Inwardly, he shivered. For him, it was all about the outdoors. And this awesome hat that one of the ol' buckaroos at the rodeo had given him when he and his ma had visited there last year...or was it two years ago? Ah, but one had mentioned that, when he had seen Clint without a hat but envious, he still had his son's old hat. It was dirty and dusty, filthy despite his and his mom's attempts at cleaning it and not really in too good of shape anyway, but Clint had worn it with great pride ever sense the day that it had been given to him. |

{{Cyrus, "J'ai douze ans!" Twelve}} Tag;; OPEN “Liberté!” Cyrus cried as he left the school house, stretching his arms. Several girls sighed, staring after the blond as he scratched his hair and lay back against a wall. He wasn’t sure why they were looking at him that way. It was kind of weird. “Cyrus, do you want to come talk with us?” asked one girl whose name he couldn’t remember. He probably shouldn’t divulge this information. Cyrus had just moved here and did want to come off as rude or anything. “Ah, maybe later, ma belle.” he said, grinning at her. She blushed furiously and turned around, giggling with her friends. C’est bizarre. Cyrus didn’t know what was up with the girls around here. Crazy people. Maybe she knew he was just covering up the fact that he didn’t know her name with French. He frowned, and wondered what fun things they had to do around here. All’s that was going on was some kid going backwards in the game of hopscotch and two kids with cowboy hats bickering. Not fun. Pirates were better than cowboys, anyway. “Cyrus!” Cyrus jumped at the sound of his name, whirled around to find three girls beside him. Where had they come from? “Say something in French!” they said, eyes sparkling. He grinned nervously. “Euh, pourquoi? Peut être vous parlez l’anglais?” The way they swooned kind of scared him. “I’m... going to go.” Cyrus took off, leaving them in his dust. “Oof!” he felt himself collide with something soft. “Excusez-moi!” Cyrus said, looking down to see who he had just knocked to the ground. |

Tag: Cyrus "So....your name's Romeo then? Like Romeo and Juliet?" 10 year old Marissa asked the handsome young crystal blue eyed boy. The guy nodded. "Yep. Believe so. You like that stuff?" the guy asked with a wink. Marissa smiled hoping he'd have a passioon for theatre like she did. "Like it?! It's the most romantic story ever!!" she said perfectly fitting the emotion. The guy just raised an eyebrow. "What?" she asked. The guy just chuckled. "Sorry. I'm not a fan of that literature junk." he said. Marissa, annoyed by this comment rolled her eyes and walked off. "Ok...bye then." she said leaving him. Man, no one around here was fun to talk to! She missed Snake, and Spike. It wa way more fun with them around. And Joey...her beloved Joey! how could she forget him of all people? Stupid moving sucked. |

[TAG: Cyrus/Marissa] "Oh boy oh boy oh BOY!" Ten-year-old Peter exclaimed, skittering down the hallway of the schoolhouse. RECESS! Oh, this was so exciting! He thundered down the stairs of the schoolhouse, his short-cropped, deep red hair rustling around in the breeze that he was rapidly creating. Always full of energy and ready to play with absolutely anyone around him at any time, he flew into the schoolyard, where children were milling about everywhere, some playing, some talking, some being absolutely silly. Peter loved them all. He laughed happily, spinning around in a single circle, before continuing his running. A lot of girls thought he was weird due to his energy and the ways that he expressed it, but that was fine. They were a bunch of cootie-infested poopy-heads anyway! All he needed was his friends and a kickball and he'd been fine for months to come. He didn't even need to eat. He was just. That. Awesome. In the midst of this running and laughing, Peter barely even noticed where he was going, and thus was quite surprised when he suddenly ran straight into someone. "Oof~!" He tumbled to the ground suddenly and blinked, staring around before he noticed the shadow above him. "WOW!" he suddenly exclaimed, his ocean blue eyes immediately growing huge as he stared up at the boy there. "Cyrus LaRue! Boy, you're swell, you know that?!" He was so stunned by the absolute coolness of the boy above him that he didn't even get up but kept gaping at him. "I wish I could speak that crazy language you speak! It's so cool!" Another person walked near them, then, and Peter looked at her before wrinkling his nose and looking up at Cyrus. "You hang out with girls? Eww!" |

TAG;; Peter // Marissa ”Cyrus LaRue! Boy, you’re swell, you know that?!” He found himself staring at a boy with red hair and eyes the size of dinner plates. Why was he staring at him like that? Oh no, don’t say the boys here were nuts, too. Cyrus couldn’t even mention it to his mother without he crying about it. Why oh why did they have to move? New Orleans hadn’t been perfect, but it was nice! He could’ve lived there! But no, Papa disagreed. He just wanted something new to stare at, he’d gotten sick of the bayou. “Thanks!” he found himself saying. “Merci beaucoup! And it’s called French, ya know.” Maybe this redhead was just excited it was recess and he was probably less crazy than those girls back there. He was a boy, and boys were just naturally better than girls. Girls, like the one nearing him right now. Maybe he could curse at her, she wouldn’t know the difference, would she? He ignored her, instead. Not like the cootie factory was talking to him, anyway. The only girls he liked talking to were his sisters and his maman. Everyone else had cooties and should just go away. Cyrus didn’t want to talk to them. ”You hang out with girls? Eww!” Upon seeing the look on red’s face, Cyrus scowled. “No!” he said, clenching his fists. “She just walked over here! Like I’d talk to a girl Gross!” Cyrus crossed his arms over his chest, huffing. Geez, the nerves of these kids. |

Tag || Open Recess. The most beloved school activity in the entire day by every child. All except little nine year old Heidi. It was the most unliked activity in her grayish blue eyes. It was awful, it was a nightmare.. it was cruel to have to go to recess for Heidi. Quickly and quietly, hoping not to catch a single child's attention, she made her way to a wall and sat down while bringing her knees up to her chin. All she had to do was sit there and blend in with the reddish brick wall even though it was be awfully hard since she was wearing a white pair of Capri's and a yellow shirt. While sitting against the wall her eyes scanned the playground. So many children of different ages were running around playing tag or hide and go seek. It looked like so much fun, but Heidi would never play. She began to wonder just how such a simple game could bring a smile to one's face. It just wasn't fair. A tiny tear trickled out of the corner of her eyes as she spotted the school's hunk-a-saurious, Cyrus. She had seen him many times before and had tried to talk to him once or twice but had failed miserably, just like she failed at everything else. Heidi was much better at being invisible so there she sat invisible to the world while hoping and praying that the bell would ring soon. |

Rose Thomas Tag: Clint & Zedekiah "Ain't nothin' concernin' you, English Lady, so if you could please scoot." Rose turned her gaze onto the shorter boy which quickly turned into a icy glare. "Nothin' personal, 'course." Crossing her arms, she eyed him, "Nothing personal indeed." She had a right mind to pop him in the eye. How would that be for 'not personal?' "We weren't arguin'," Turning her attention to the other boy, she wondered if he would tease her too and try to shoo her away. If she did, she would definitely be giving them both black-eyes. "...Rose, right?" Pleasantly surprised, her anger melted away and she smiled. "Yes, it is." So he had remembered her name! Now she wished that she knew his, so she wouldn't feel so bad. "What's your name?" Glancing at the other boy, she also remembered the manners her mother had shoved into her head for years. "...and yours too?" *********** Bunny Hopps Tag: Hiedi Hop. Hop. Hop. A nine year old girl with long brown hair pulled back with a pink bow was hopping along the edge of the playground. Today she was a rabbit, just as her name sake! That's what she loved most about her name, especially the way the adults would laugh when she introduced herself. Laughing was always so great! It meant everyone was happy! Hop. Hop. Hop. Reaching the end of the playground, she was about to turn around and go back, when something bright caught her eyes. Straightening up she saw a girl sitting against the school wall. And she looked sad. Really sad. Bunny frowned. That's not good! Hop! Hop! Hop! Quickly she bounded towards the blonde child, kneeling in front of her she peered at her face. There were tears! This was a very serious matter indeed. Smiling brightly, she held out her hand. "Hi! My name is Bunny, let's go be animals together, okay?" |

Tag: Rose Clint didn't expect that reaction - she gave Zedekiah a pretty good glare! He was suddenly smiling again, until she asked for his name. His gaze trailed off to the side, and he was seriously thinking of giving her a false name. Like, what he would be known by once he made it big in the rodeo! ... But he couldn't think of anything other than 'Lefty' right now, and that just didn't seem to fit to the seven-year-old. His trailing gaze, however, caught on a girl probably a year or two older than him, that was huddled against a wall and didn't look too happy at all. He frowned, even at his young age he hated to see anyone sad, but, being raised by a woman...especially women, or girls, in this case. His mama was trying to teach him chivalry, whatever that was, but he was more concerned about his mama than anyone else. He also wondered why they had moved here last year, he missed Wyoming, but mama had said that it would be a great new start for them. So she was hoping, but then why was she still gettin' sick? Well, no matter, just as he was about to excuse himself and go sit next to the girl, another girl came up and began to interact with her. Clint couldn't presently remember her name, but she seemed nice enough, and looked like she had a lot of energy. With a small smirk, he just realized...had she hopped over there? Blinking, he suddenly remembered he had been asked a question, and so returned his attention to little Miss Thomas. "Clint...m' name's Clint." He finally answered her, adding in a small smile. Switching his gaze to Zedekiah, he then realized he had also not answered. "An' he's Zedekiah." "But I go by Zed." Zedekiah quickly put in, crossing his arms over his chest and glancing away from them. |

Rose Thomas Tag: Clint & Zed It sure took the boy a long time to answer her, which was at first really annoying before she noticed that he was staring at another girl huddled by the wall. She looked pretty depressed, not seeming to take well to not having friends. Or so it looked like. Rose was glad to see another girl--who also had a bad--take the initiative of taking care of the blonde. She knew she wouldn't. "Clint...m' name's Clint." So she could be made fun of for her accent, but this boy wasn't? Then again maybe he was. Rose found it very different from her own, but since she herself talked 'funny' she didn't have any qualms about it. "Nice to meet you, Clint." "An' he's Zedekiah." Looking at the other boy, she nodded, "Nice to meet you too--" "But I go by Zed." "...Zed." Uncrossing her arms, she looked between the two of them. "...what do you do for fun?" They certainly couldn't just stand around for long. How boring. Maybe they could play something that involved fighting, or pretending to be in the Navy. I wonder if I can get them to be my subordinates... Not that she really understood what that meant but her father had used it. |

Tag: Rose Clint smiled at her and brought up his right hand to touch the brim of his hat as he nodded, like he had seen some of those real-life cowboys do. ... He didn't have a TV, so he couldn't have seen them from movies, but only from what he had observed in real life, first hand. Zed looked at her and offered a small nod, but was otherwise still pretty grumpy. At least she had called him by his preferred name, though. "...what do you do for fun?" She...wanted to play with them? Clint started to frown, thinking that their kind of games this girl would not find entertaining at all. Taking in her appearance once more, he suddenly got an idea. An innocent little grin forming on his face, letting anyone nearby that was looking know he was up to something, he nudged Zed in the side with his elbow. "We play Cops 'n Robbers," Clint said, trying his best to put on the appearance of innocence. He was smirking now, as he continued, gesturing between himself and Zed, then to her. "You c'n be the Cop, an' we'll be the robbers." He said, drawing out the last word as he stepped up to the girl, reached up with his hand and grabbed onto her bow, somehow unlatching it (hopefully) without breaking it. With a final, playful smirk aimed at Rose, Clint took off running. Zedekiah also took off running, in the opposite direction, both of them grinning like fools. He might regret it later, but hopefully this Rose girl could take a joke... |
