.::Open::. No one really interested him, he stood, tall and unimpressed above most of the guests, , white clutching to his entire face, not a feature given. Stark in his black suit with bloody red trim and cold leather gloves. While some seemed classy most everyone gave of the air of being nothing but trash with a satin trim and too much glitter for one single being. He clenched his teeth and merely stood, looking about, trying to pick out those who were at the party. He'd know them all at the end.....but he didn't want any surprises now.... |

Tag: Charlemagne "We shall," At least her companion didn't mind that she'd taken the initiative. And it was fun. She smiled brightly as he took her hand and led her to dance floor, her long full skirt swishing around her ankles as she walked. It was an exhilarating feeling, being one of the first people on the dance floor. The other couples weren't really dancing. They were just swaying in place. "I trust the lady can dance? If not, I'm here to show you." A light chuckle escaped her lips at his question, even as he pulled her closer to him. She found that she rather enjoyed the close quarters of their bodies. He radiated warmth that she found comforting and it made her heart pound rapidly. But of course she could dance. The Lady Sapphire had to admit it was something she was rather proud of; she'd always been natural on the dance floor. "Do not worry, my good sir; I can dance. I shan't step on your toes tonight." she replied, giving him a wink as her eyes sparkled, placing one hand on his shoulder and the other already being held by his own. Although her hands were gloved, she could feel the warmth of his hand and she discovered, yet again, that she enjoyed it. "But you are the king, and thus must lead the way." |

tag,, Sapphire She followed him quietly. The king glanced around the dance floor, it was like a high school prom, not a ball. Where was the waltzing? The Viennese? Ah, well, they would just gave to teach them a lesson in dancing. Perhaps one thing good about the mask is that no one (except perhaps the woman before him) knew who he was. Any past judgements were gone, hidden beneath his gold-black mask and crown. He smiled to himself, glad to hear she could dance as well. Either way, he would have tried to make them both look good, but there was always less effort on his part when his partner could dance, too. To dance with someone who was unskilled, it could be embarrassing. He felt her hand settle on his shoulder. The king had to resist grinning like a fool, he was playing the dashing royal tonight, after all. Not the jester. The last woman he had danced with, one that was more than a formal affair. He couldn’t quite remember, actually. At the moment, his mind was distracted by how soft her gloves were. "But you are the king, and thus must lead the way." she said, pulling his mind back into the present. “That is the tradition, I suppose,” he said, nodding. Charlemagne took a short breath, and pulled her a little closer. A waltz suited this song, he figured. Once he had learned that the waltz was considered risqué by the public eye. He could see why, despite a small height distance they were quite close. Of course, he preferred it that way. He began to count the beats, and moved. Stepping slowly, allowing her to follow along. She was the one in the beautiful dress that swirled whenever he spun her. His lips curled into a smile as he began to work their way around the dance floor. |

Tag :: Pink Dolphin It's Peter Pan! It's Robin Hood.. no wait.. Its just a man in tights! Well whoever this man was (let's call him Roger) was really up to the spectator to say for he had just picked out a mask, a long sleeved white shirt covered with a long green tunic, along with a brown belt strapped around his middle, while sporting a pair of green tights and brown boots that ended right below his knees. For once in his life his head was bare due to the fake hat that was plastered on his mask. The man also was very uncomfortable in the tights he was wearing. Never before had he gone out in public with this least amount of clothing on his body. He felt exposed.. ready to show off everything he had to the world. Oh well, tonight was the exception. Nobody would know who he was anyways, right? Roger also wanted to have a bit of fun at the Masquerade so why not treat it like Halloween. Upon entering the estate Roger looked around at the many different people in their costumes of all sorts of colors. There was quite a handful of different people and a large variety of different styled clothing. Instead of sitting back like normal, he decided to go find a damsel in distress. His eyes scanned the floor until he noticed a woman in a pink dress and a silver mask. She looked lonely.. it was perfect.. it was just the job for Roger. "Hello m'lady," he greeted her with a bow, "having a fun filled evening tonight?" Speaking out like this and talking like so was totally against his normal character. It was fun though so why not abuse the night and act like a complete mannerly fool. Roger sure hoped that whoever this woman was that she didn't have a clue as to who he was. His voice was safe for the mask changed it a bit then |

Tag: Roger; the man in tights "Hello m'lady," Pink Dolphin gasped, startled at the sudden voice of someone so close. Standing by the drink table, she turned in time to see his bow, though she still took a small step away from him, startled expression on her face and a hand moving towards her mouth. She hadn't really thought that she would actually interact with anyone this evening, simply stay a little while then leave and go back home. It would seem that this was not to be...oh, but he had asked a question. "Having a fun filled evening tonight?" "Uh," Pink Dolphin blinked, lowering her hand. "The evening for me has only just started, kind sir..." she said meekly, slowly smiling at the Robin Hood-like dressed man. That might have also been a reason, for why she had been rather startled, to turn and see Robin Hood right there. "Though I know with events such as these, in the end they are almost always fun-filled, yes?" She said, ending in a light laugh. "How has your evening been so far, kind sir?" She asked, not really knowing what else to call him. Mr. Hood? Hm. |

Tag: Pink Dolphin and Roger; The man in tights Outfit:http://i47.tinypic.com/2zjb0v8.jpg The leggy princess walked into the room in an elegant silky pink dress. She had a tiara placed on her head of goden locks, and topped off with her snow white and silver mask, she looked brilliant. The woman looked around the room, blushing at every glance she recieved. Attention was not her forte...not in the slightest. She walked over to the refreshments table and began to sip a glass of wine. She then let out a sigh. The room was quite cold, leaving her lovely legs out in the open for breezes. She blushed and began to walk, not paying attention to where she was going, and bumping into a man wearing tights. Blushing a bit, she jumped back, mortified. "Oh..I'm sorry sir! I wasn't watching where I was going. I should have been paying attention." she said holding her mask over her amber eyes. |

Why am I here? That seemed to be the question that she always asked herself. Why was she at that place? Why then? What made it significant? She had planned ahead for the event, hearing the whispers of it taking place among the crowd. The clicking of her plain, black heels could be heard ringing throughout the darkened path up to the large house. She didn't really feel like events like these were her style, but what was the harm in experiencing it once? If she knew how horrible it was she would never go again. She walked through the large doors of the estate wondering how it would all play out. At the last event she attended some guy showed up dressed absolutely ridiculous! Then again... she had to admire him for it. Where was she again? Oh, yeah, the 'masquerade.' She had to admit that she felt a bit pretty. The dress that she had asked her mother to send over to her was absolutely stunning (after a few touch ups done by her mother, of course). The last time she remembered seeing the dress was a long time ago, when she was very little. She could remember gazing up at it at her grandmother's house, which made her strain to remember her grandmother. Oh, how horrible it was to remember a dress and not her own loved one! The dress was a beautiful deep green, a most treasured colour in her family. Her mother had lifted up the dress and made sure it was sewn it such a way it looked like the dress had always been that way. Her mother really new how to touch up an old dress. She kept her ears clean of all studs and rings, minus fake diamond earrings in each ear lobe. She did, however, only keep in one of her lip piercings. Her mask was just something her parents picked up in a flea market and sent to her, thinking that it matched nicely and looked abstract (which they knew very well that she would like). Her blonde, flame-kissed hair was down and was curled to where the curls were big and bouncy. The natural volume to her hair made it look thicker than what it normally would look, which she was happy with. Her makeup was kept rather simple, because, of course, no one would see the most important part: her eyes. She walked to the side, trying to get out of the way of the dancing crowd in the middle of the room. She tried her best to stay near a wall and observe, and wait. Wait for what? Oh, just for something to happen. ((Sorry D;)) |

tag;; Golden Girl Heeeeeeee wasn't convinced this was a good idea, but his mother said it would be fun. Being the pushover, he was, he went. And hoo boy, did he stick out like a sore thumb. People dressed as kings and queens, floofy dresses that made him wonder how they got through the doors to their homes, intricate capes that would fit into Dracula or something. Here he was, wearing a turban and robes akin to a sultan. Or the closest he could get to sultan, scraping up every bit of silk for the robes. White, with gold embroidery across the chest and sleeves, and a white mask to adhere to the dress code. He looked quite handsome, if he did say so himself. Oh, that sounded big-headed. But he was Sultan! He could be big-headed, tonight, anyway. Maybe a little...? The king of Arabia strode, or maybe walked, into the ball. He was a little late, people were dancing and having fun. Beneath their masks, they all looked kind of old. Not old, but older than him. Was there anyone his age, he wondered. His question was answered by a flash of gold, a very large flash. Human-sized, actually. He smiled to himself, she looked his age. Around it, anyway. "Er... hello!" he greeted her, grinning. "You look very shiny tonight." That sounded weird. "I mean... lovely." Why was she wearing a bikini anyway. "Aren't you cold?" |

Tag: Aphrodite ((Ahaha, yup, that's me!)) Taking the lady's gloved-hand in his own, he played his role and performed a bow, lightly pecking the back of his partner's hand. Everything tonight seem to be taken straight out of a children's fantasy book, and for once he found himself gladly performing his part. For tonight, he would play the role of the gentleman. He shall be courteous, and though he may not be of anyone special, he would at least try and be the white prince for the lady. 'Try' being the keyword here, though, since it had been awhile he had participated in such an event. Still, they were strangers, and as such they may not realise one another at another time. That was why, at least for this one night, he'll not let his partner down, and give the both of them something mysterious to remember by. "A finely chosen outfit, milady." Calm but soft he spoke, his voice deep and regal not unlike those of nobility-born. Gently guiding his partner's hand, he led her onto the dancing floor. Then, he bowed again. "Will the lady honour me with a dance?" |

Tag: Charlemagne “That is the tradition, I suppose,” Sapphire chuckled softly at his reply. The formal speech, the formal clothing, the masks. Everything mixed together formed such a lovely element of enjoyment. She let out a soft breath as Charlemagne pulled her closer. Oh the proximity of their bodies made her feel so giddy. It was a strange feeling. A new feeling. Her gaze shifted and she lifted her eyes to look at him directly, a somewhat shy smile on her face, a light blush on her cheeks. And then they started moving. Ah, a waltz. She followed his steps, as the partner is wont to do, although she knew the dance just as well. Their movements were graceful as they made their way around the dance floor, the kingly gentleman with the crown and the lady in blue. What did they look like to other people? Like a couple? Or just strangers, sharing a lovely waltz? How long had it been since she'd danced like that? And the way that they danced together felt so natural to her. His hand fit in her own like a second pair of gloves... Ah.. it must be the atmosphere that was making her feel so... light-headed. But she was happy. Extremely happy. Happier than she'd ever felt, if that were possible. It must be a crime to be so happy. |

Tag: Natural Oxygen Yet another woman entered the crammed space. She was rather short, so easily lost inside a crowd. Nervously she entered, feeling so under dressed. She didn't have a dress... or much of a mask. But she'd never gone to something like this before. And right now, she was so thankful she did, because man was it beautiful. She suddenly felt hyper, looking around. But at the same time, a bit worried. She was probably the most non extravagant person here. She was in her regular everyday clothes for crying out loud. Taking in a breath, which she hoped was filled with braveness. A silly thought but she had many of them. Making her way over around the room, yes she didn't go through the middle but all the way around. When she arrived at the drink area she noticed another girl, almost the same height as her. Causally drinking and watching everyone else. Wanting to share the experience with someone she smiled at the girl. "This is really cool isn't it!" She exclaimed, the excitement clear in her voice. |

tag,, Sapphire This closeness, he would never have been so bold if the masks were off. Perhaps with other women, but not with her. Why he didn’t know. Respect, fear of destroying what they had. For once he treated his relationship with care, like a piece of porcelain or glassware. But not tonight, so long as the veil was drawn between reality and fantasy, he could do this. She danced like a natural, hadn’t been lying when she said she could dance. It made him look a little less impressive, but she didn’t seem to mind. That swept away look on her face made him smile. Though he didn’t look away from her eyes, he wondered if they were being watched. What people thought of how the two of them moved. The king had found his lady of the evening, it appeared. His leg, his damned leg, was beginning to twinge. Soon he’d probably have to sit down, but not now. He could make it last, push himself a little. This wasn’t a time for him to look crippled, or lame. For now, all he did was concentrate on the lady before him. He sent her twirling away, gripping her hand tighter, then pulling her back in. “How is the lady enjoying our dance?” he asked softly, drawing her back in again. This was going too well, something was bound to happen. He only hoped he could enjoy it while he can. |

Tag: dizzy. It was hard not to notice the girl approaching. She was so under dressed for this event. It made her feel a bit, over dressed? She made her way closer but before she could start a conversation the other girl decided too. "This is really cool isn't it!" her voice was louder then needed. But that might have just been because she was excited. A bit taken back by her friendly and outspoke approach at first she didn't know how to respond. She wasn't use to people coming and talking to her, even in Obsidian. Where everyone was so friendly, no one usually spoke to her. Even here, it'd been a good twenty minutes or so and still no one bothered to look her way or even speak to her. Usually she didn't mind the solitude but lately she'd had a bad feeling. She couldn't pinpoint the emotion exactly. Or figure out if it was just her putting to much thought in something that didn't really matter. "Yes," she tried to mask her voice. It was silly but this was a masquerade. |

Tag: Sultan of Arabia The Golden Girl was starting to grow bored as she stood back and watched everyone mingle amongst one another. Most of them were dressed in fancy type clothes and nice tailored outfits, how boring. Why wasn't anyone else dressed down like her? It would definitely make things more interesting if someone did.. heck she might even walk up to them and start a decent conversation which was very not like her. There was that one guy in the oxygen mask.. that was a bit out of the ordinary, however and there was the checkered girl, she sure stood out like a sore thumb with her short dress and all. With a sigh she walked over to the table where drinks were being served. Hopefully they had something other then sparkling cider and water.. something alcoholic, but as her eyes scanned the crystal cups before her she noticed there were none. Again.. how boring. These festivals sure weren't all they were cracked up to be, granite this was her first one since arriving but still. "You don't by any chance have anything alcoholic do you?" she asked one of the men behind the table serving, filling and refilled drinks. He just shook his head no. "Well that's stupid," she huffed before turning around. The golden girl began walking away from the table as she heard a light psst. Looking around in all directions she tried to decipher just where the noise came from. Psst! There it was again! 'Who in the f--,' she began to wonder until finally she noticed a man off in the corner at the very end of the drinks table. Very nonchalantly she made her way towards him. "Were you the one pssting me?" The Golden Girl asked. The man nodded his head then held out a bottle of champagne. "No way!" she exclaimed while reaching out to grab a hold of the bottle but just as her hands began to circle around the base it quickly disappeared. "Hey!" "Are you old enough?" he asked her while looking her up and down. "Of course I am!" she told him after reaching for the bottle again. This time he handed it over. Well that was rather easy. After finding a place to hide out and enjoy her alcoholic beverage, she popped off the top and began to drink right out of the bottle but before she could even finish her first gulp a voice filled the air. "Er... hello!" it said, "You look very shiny tonight." Quickly The Golden Girl peeled the bottle from her lips and hid it behind her back. "Uh.. thanks," she said with a shrug and a smile, "and you look very....out of this country!" The guy then asked her if she was cold. "Eh," she said with another shrug, "depends really." |
