[doHTML] <table bgcolor=#EBCD94 align="center" cellpadding="10" cellspacing="0" width="450" height="200" style="border:1px solidd #146B22"> <tr> <td border=0 VALIGN=top ALIGN=left width=50%> AUTUMN MASQUERADE <br>Autumn 21st;; Year 07 || 6:00 PM - 12:00 AM <br>Atmosphere: Lively <br>The Autumn Masquerade is an event of a rather fancy sort, and the Mayor's effort to reflect this in his home is apparent. <br> <br>The interior of the Estate seems to glow a soft, golden tone; there is a certain degree of elegance in the air, at least more so than usual. The lobby and the entrance area have been cleared out and dressed up just for this event. Sparkling crystal chandeliers hang in the middle of the ceiling in both rooms. The light seems to glitter and shine, dancing off every polish surface that hangs from their curved, ornate arms. Upon further inspection of the areas, one will notice that most of the lights have been replaced by candelabra of all sizes that have been placed in corners, mounted on walls and on tables. Though upon even closer inspection, one will also notice that all the candles are actually very convincing - but deceiving - lightbulbs. A safety issue, it seems. <br> <br>Some paintings have also been added around the room. They hang from the walls in simple, gold-coloured frames for all to admire. Most of them appear to be of richly detailed landscapes, but there are a few portraits including one of Obsidian's founder, the Harvest Goddess (at least, the artist's depiction) and the current Mayor himself. Several vases and small statues have also been scattered around the perimeter of the rooms. There still is a bit of dust on some of them though, suggesting they were brought out from years of storage specifically for this occasion. <br> <br>On the north wall of the lobby, there is a long table set up with the night's dishes. As usual it appears there is hardly a lack of food. It seems every course is covered from hors d'œuvres to dessert, and guests are welcome to eat as much as they like. On one side of the table there are non-alcoholic drinks, and an undisguised staff member is at the other end attempting (key word) to monitor the distribution of alcohol. <br> <br>The rest of the lobby is the dance floor, complete with a string quartet hired by the Mayor. Though, a CD player sits behind them - it appears as though requests for less classical songs can also be accomodated, if desired - simply seek out and ask the unmasked Mayor. The entrance area of the Estate appears to be for socializing and lounging around on the chairs and sofas that have been moved there. <br> <br>At the end of the night, the Mayor will announce for the masks to be cast off and all will be revealed. <br> <br>---------------------------- <br>Note: Remember! When posting, please clearly tag the character(s) you're interacting with in every post. <br> <br>Also, to post as a guest, first log out. Then, come to this topic and reply as usual. Above the posting field, there will be a space that says, Enter Your Name. Input your alias for the event there. Remember to use it each time, and to use a different one for each character! Keep in mind that this is NOT mandatory, but it is highly encouraged for added fun! :D </td> </tr> </table> [/doHTML] |

Tonight. Tonight he was alone. He stepped into the ballroom, black mask secured onto his face, concealing his eyes. It was enough to do the job on concealing his identity. He had been to a few masquerades in his time, but was looking forward to this one in particular. There was no reason, he simply was. The mayor had the knack for throwing a good party, leaving him wondering where he got the money for it. He pushed the thought from his mind, so long as he could eat. Instinctively, his gaze swept the room, obviously seeing no familiar faces. Only familiar ears. Already there were people dancing. The idea of not knowing with whom, it was strange and yet enchanting. It was nothing short of beautiful in the hall tonight, the perfect mood for what would hopefully be a perfect ball. He pulled at his sleeves, smiling to himself. Time to get this thing moving. |

TAG::: Open. She strode purposely into the Masquerade, a bright smile on her sparkling face. Glitter highlighted her cheekbones and eyelids, even sparkled across her lips, bringing a certain highlight to her shimmering eyes. Goddess, but it looked lovely in here tonight. She rubbed her arms carefully, destroying the goosebumps that skittered across them at the sight of the great splendor before her. She'd never been in the Estate before, but it was positively glorious. She wondered if it looked like this all the time. She was clothed almost entirely in seafoam green, her reddish hair hanging loosely down her back in great curls and waves before stopping at the bottom of her shoulder blades. The dress that she wore was very slender and tight-fitting, down to the green sparkly slippers she wore as well. The dress itself revealed a very young, underdeveloped body in terms of curves, minus a vague curve at the bust and hips. But no matter. She felt beautiful, as always, if not even more so given the way that she felt dressed to match the general splendor. She glanced around, taking note of where everyone is, but found that she could not even begin to guess who they were due to the rampant excitement stirring in her breast. Would someone guess who she was? She gulped then before taking many great deep breaths, all in an attempt to calm herself and to generate a more demure appearance for the evening. A few adjustments to the mask on her face, extending from her brow line to the bottom curve of her cheekbones, meant that she was ready now to take the party by storm. Be yourself. But not, she reminded herself once more before taking herself toward the refreshment table. After picking up one of the goblets, she took a careful drink, being sure not to ruin her lip gloss. Now then. Would she approach someone, or would someone find her first? |

Tag: Ariel Oh this was so exciting! Stepping into the Festival was like entering some sort of enchanting dream. Everyone was dressed beautifully, or hideously, their faces concealed, which only seemed to add to the wonder of it all. Letting her eyes scan the ground, she wondered if she might find someone who's costume/mask matched her own. Then we could parade together, two birds in flight~! The costume she had chosen was all golds, yellows, oranges, and whites, intriquite designs/shapes shimmering down the cloak she had fastened around her neck. At it's bottom it was feathered, so that if she took hold of it at either end and spread out her arms, it would look like wings. Her top was a simple, pale yellow turtleneck whose sleeves flaired out so that they almost completely hid her hands, giving her and even more bird like persona. Her pants were poofed out, orange things, that stopped right below her knee, which she thought was adorable and made her want to waddle around like a duck. She even had a feathery tail trailing along behind her, ending right about where her pants did. Her tights, which were yellow and orange striped, were combed with a surprsingly ordinary pair of white shoes that were adorned with only a few feathers on each side. Even her short brown hair was pulled back with various barretts, jewels and feathers dangling all over, jingling slightly as they knocked against each other. However, her crowning jewel was her mask; oh she had worked on it. It was white, gold jewels and yellow glitter bordering it's edges; it went up just below her eyebrows, and had a thin beak that extended nearly 5 inches from her face. Sure it would make eating/drinking difficult, but she'd be darned if it didn't look awesome! To her at least. Heading towards the dink table, she tried to resist the urge to make a hawk sound and 'soar' about, stealing away the weak ones to feed to her chicks. In her nearly trembling excitement, she accidentally bumped into a woman in all seafoam green. Letting out a yelp, she held out her hands in an attempt to keep the mermaid's drink from getting on her dress. "Ahh...I'm sorry, I hope it didn't spill..." That would've been terrible! Do mermaids trump mysterious birds...?! She hoped not. She didn't want to get beaten this early in the night. |

[Tag - Open] So. This was what a masquerade was like. He lingered near a dark corner very stereotypically, wrapping a black cloak around himself as he did so, and cleared his throat very softly. He stuffed his large hands into his pockets, considering everyone around him as he did so, and tilted his head to the side. He supposed...that it meant he'd have to interact with people, didn't it? He sighed softly. What an inconvenience that was. The tall man was clothed very formally, in black dress pants and a white button-down shirt. A black vest was over that shirt, emphasizing the general puffiness of the sleeves. His dark hair, however, was tucked into the hat that he wore, a general black fedora that was rather nondescript. On his face was a simple black mask, one that covered his entire face from the top of his forehead to the top of his lips. Only his pale sharp chin jutted out from beneath it, with his pale lips curved into a frown above it. Right. Interacting...with people. Right. No, not now, perhaps. Right now, the corner felt a lot safer. His black dress shoes clicked against the floor as he began to walk, sticking to the wall as he crossed to another corner, considering plucking up a drink along the way to it. However, that decision was automatically revoked when a woman dressed like some sort of bird nearly spilled her drink all over a tiny mermaid. Oh dear. Was the punch already contaminated with alcohol, then? Perhaps he wouldn't have a drink. In fact, why hadn't he brought his own? He clicked his tongue and shook his head lightly, lifting one of his hands to adjust the brow of his fedora. An enigma. If he was lucky, he would remain that was for the entire night, perhaps even not interacted with. Then again, he never had been the lucky one. |

Tag - Enigma A masquerade. Such a romantic idea. At first, she'd stuck her tongue out at the thought of going. But her sense of adventure had finally gotten to her, and she managed to find something to wear. It wasn't the typical, at least for a girl; a black tuxedo had been her choice. She didn't particularly want to walk around in a fancy, showy dress. She'd rather be a suave, mysterious stranger, at least as long as she could keep up the charade. It wasn't incredibly obvious she was really a girl at first; while the tux was tight on her, she wasn't well-developed enough to give it away immediately. If you thought hard, you'd realize she was female, if only because her chest and hips stuck out more than a guy's might. Her hair was tied back in a bun, a few strands hung in front of her face. A thin cloth scarf was wrapped around her lower face, concealing her chin and mouth. To hide the rest of her face she wore a white mask with a beak, giving her the appearance of a bird. She was short, about average for one her age, 5'4. Her age wasn't hidden as much as her gender was, because her body looked plenty young. She considered talking to somebody, trying to figure out if she knew them, but she was overwhelmed with unfamiliar... er... masks. Carefully she tread across the floor in her shoes, the ones that pinched at her heels. She'd put band-aids on them, just to make sure it didn't hurt too much. She sighed, shaking her head irritably. What to do? Without parental supervision, she was free to do just about whatever she wanted. But there were already quite a few people at the punch bowl. Instead she found herself pushed out of the crowd, instead standing beside a solitary loner in a black mask that covered all of his face. |

This was so terrifying. The big hipped woman walked in as she looked down at the short checkered dress she wore. A mask with a black side and a white side and black and white feathers with a lovely red rose. Her hair completely volumized and checkered pumps to match the dress. She blushed as she walked into the room. She wondered if she had dressed too oddly. Looking down she decided 'oh well'. It was too late to change now. The dress didn't show anything. Her undergarments were totally covered. She was a complete checkerboarded angel. |

TAG: OPEN If you asked her if those were real, she'd laugh and say something crude about her desperately needing implants, and also ask if you were a nice enough person to sponsor her for them. She could do that tonight, if she really wanted to - no one would know who she was anyway; if she left the joint before midnight. Before the great unraveling. Tonight she was just glad that for the first time in a long time, she didn't have to play 'dumb bimbo,' for some big shot movie director, or something stupid for work, like that. It was nice to enjoy a fancy night out, get to know the town in a different florescent light. She seemed content sipping with the others until a girl almost tripped and got punch on them. "I do hope you're alright." She uttered in passing, backing away from the punch. The dress. It was so simple if you looked at all the other birds floating about the place. She had white-off-the-shoulder sleeves, which came to meet in the middle of her decolletage with a silky misty rose. In fact, that was the color of her dress, in a small-on-top, puffed-up-bottom style reminiscent of Princess Peach. Yes, so simple in fact, that she would have felt terribly under-dressed if not for the diamond encrusted mask perched upon her beautifully crafted nose. Those bright gems contrasted so strikingly against her black long hair, reflecting every tiny particle of light that came her way. She was not as beautiful as all the other frocks in the Mayor's house, but she felt like she was worth a million G's. |

TAG: OPEN They walked into the place together. It wasn't as if they were holding hands or linking arms or anything, but they were standing side by side the whole time, engaging each other in idle chit chat. "What a nice figure that red head's got. Woo, I like her shoes." "Uhm." "Is that an animal sitting on her head?" "Uhuno." "Don't you think that girl with the diamonds is a little too much?" The lady in the green dress asked. "Urmph." The tall purple mask shrugged, he, was obviously a man, and didn't seem to speak a lot. "Goodness! Who is that!?" She cried, pointing to a man with enough guts to wear that ridiculous thing over his head. "He is ruining such a wonderful night!" |

TAG: THE ONE WITH THE HUNGRY EYES See, the top hat had the monocle. His face had the gas mask. But at least he had a top hat, huh? And he was stalking around the joint like his grey two buttoned suit was the shizzle. He sure seemed to be looking for somebody though. His partner to be exact. A couple had just entered the room, wearing matching masks. His mask seemed stuck in that direction for a long time, watching green one point and mouth something to her partner. He approached the somebody's back, and grasped her shoulder. As The One With the Diamonds, those many, many diamonds, sparkled the light right into his eyes once she turned around with a startled gasp. He seemed momentarily blinded, even with his seemingly thick shades, stumbling a few steps over, crashing into the back of a bus. Oh, dear no, it was a girl! "Oeh? good god. Lady, I'm sorry." He said in a low voice shielding his eyes, before wrapping and arm over girl in black and white, trying to stalk off in the other direction with her in tow. "Better stay here Mam', that bird with the diamonds will take your eyes right out." |

With a large musketeer hat, a large feather sticking from it, the Pirate King strutted into the ball, pushing back his cape dramatically. He was most assuredly dressing the part with a puffy shirt, vest adorned in jewels, a decorated belt and a sword dangling from it, not to mention cloth pants with boots. He even wore a mask that went from his forehead to just above his mouth; to add a final touch, he had attached an eyepatch with the skull and cross bone sign over the left eye hole. Yar! I be a pirate! Scanning the crowd, he was rather impressed with everyone that he saw; some people really went all out! Still he had an ego, and of course believed that he in fact had the best costume there. Besides his partner, where ever they were at the moment. Smirking he made his way into the fray. I suppose they shall make me guess who they are...what fun! The Pirate King is up to the challenge! |

Tag: Pirate King "Ugh! This thing is so annoying!" the busty brunette said adjusting her cat mask and cat ears. She pouted as her tail brushed against her legs underneath her dress. She bluhsed, thinking someone was touching her. "Back off perv!" she said swinging around to see...nothing. Her edgy black dress really fit her figure without showing much more than a little clevage. She continued to walk along fooling with the bell she put on her collar. She then slipped, falling on a man dressed as a pirtate. "Oh crap! I am so sorry!" she said jumping to her feet and helping him up. |

[Tag: Open] Oh dear, but she felt uncomfortable. Lingering off to the side, she adjusted the neckline of her dress yet again. Why had she agreed to wear this? She thought it would make her beautiful, and she supposed that it did, especially now that she was gaining her weight that she had lost back on, but it also made her feel...incredibly awkward. She bit her bottom lip, full and shimmering pink from gloss, and finally decided to leave her neckline well alone. It was going to show cleavage. She might as well accept it. The dress itself was really quite beautiful, albeit a bit simple due to her family's finances. Above the waist it was a simple white cotton with a plunging scoop neckline that drew attention to the curve that was returning to her bustline, along with the curve around her stomach and into her hips. Lace decorated the neckline itself, making what might originally have been a very simple top a bit more formal, though it would never be as formal as the rest of the gowns that women wore around her. The skirt of the dress was a deep red cotton, extending down to just below her ankles, where little red slippers peeked out. It showed off her feminine figure quite well, as awkward as it was for her to admit. She skittered over to one of the chairs in the sitting area, sinking down into it with a soft, relieved sigh as she adjusted her mask, a bright red number that sparkled in every bit of the light and that extended from her brow line to just around her cheekbones. Her long hair curled down her back, highlighting the reds through its vibrant pink color. Oh Goddess, let me get through this night in one piece, she prayed, gripping the arms of the chair for good measure. Please. |

Tag::: Lady Hawke "Oh dear!" she squeaked as a person suddenly swirled nearby her, bumping into her rather unexpectedly. Ariel gripped the drink she had only just picked up very tightly, being sure to keep her arm extended, and only just escaped certain danger when it sloshed violently onto her hand and wrist instead of onto her dress. "...PHEW!" Ariel exclaimed, grinning widely at the woman who had attacked her. It had to be a woman, after all, since she was much too curvy to be a mad, but Ariel could see no defining traits that could give her any other clue to the woman's existence. Fair enough! That wasn't the fun of the night, right? the fun was just...to have fun! Ariel laughed then, patting the woman dressed as a hawk on the back. "Oh, that was too close! But thank you for the exciting beginning to the night, eh?" Ariel shook her head, her wavy reddish hair following suit, and turned to look for napkins scattered across the table. When she finally found them, she immediately went to wiping off the liquid that was already growing sticky on her tanned arm. "You're not hurt, right? Because that'd absolutely kill me if you were." She frowned over her shoulder at the woman, scanning over her to look for injuries, and in doing so took in her whole outfit. "Hey, you look great! Some sort of bird, right?" Ariel abruptly giggled then, covering her mouth to stifle the sound out of habit. "Not that I could tell from the mask, of course." She reached out and touched the end of the mask's beak, admiring it a bit. "That's so cool!" |
