Julian leaned against the back wall, looking out over all of the people mingling, laughing, and seeming to have a grand time. Glancing down at his name tag, he wondered what had compelled him to sign up. Not like I could really interact with many girls... Running a hand through his hair, he sighed, and then smiled. Ah well, it's nice to be amongst some hustle and bustle though.

Flexing his fingers, he sighed again. Of course I feel naked without Cassandra... Staring at the ceiling, he drifted off into his own world, imagining what songs he'd play on her next. He'd love to get some new stuff, but he wasn't sure if there was a music store in town. His fingers lightly twitched as he subconsciously went over the notes in his mind. Nothing made him happier than his darling Cassandra, and if nothing happened that night, he would always have her to go home to.

”I’ll just take that as a compliment.”

Well, that’s certainly a relief. While he’s still frustrated that he isn’t able to mask the whole being flustered thing, Will is definitely happy that it doesn’t seem to bother Aislinn too much. Either that, or she’s just being nice for his sake. Then again, that doesn’t seem too likely as the laugh from him tripping over words would attest to. Shaking it off for the time being, the musician turns his attention back to his companion.

Continuing on with the conversation, Will can’t help but notice Aislinn’s grin at the mention of becoming a homeowner. Yet another similarity between the two of them, but really, who wouldn’t want to own their own home? Heck, who knows? Depending on where they decide to build, Will, Jill, and Aislinn might all become neighbors. Well, that wouldn’t be bad at all. Certainly there could very well be worse company than his hazel eyed friend. The thoughts of houses leave the man’s head though as he notices a blush creep across Aislinn’s face yet again at the mention of Kali’s suggestion of playing at festivals. What’s got her blushing so much at that? She’s seen him play before. Hell, she’s seen him break a guitar string before, the ultimate faux pas of any musician.

”I’m sure you’ll be able to find a good one. After all, although the island seems a bit small.. There’s actually plenty of things you can do.”

Blushing again? At this point Will is beginning to wonder if it’s because of her situation, because of him, because of the room getting a bit more crowded, or if she is simply sick. Although he’s not a doctor, Will is pretty sure that he could rule out sickness, as Aislinn would probably be the healthiest looking sick person he’d ever seen. Yeah, it has to be either the room or her situation on being put up for bidding. True, she had done it to herself, but it’s only natural that one would have second thoughts about such a thing. After all, who knows just what kind of person could bid on you? A complete stranger, a stalker, an axe murderer? …Okay, Will concedes to himself that he might be getting a little carried away with things at this point. Aislinn should be fine. After all, it’s not like she’s going to wind up with a weirdo in a place like this. For her sake, hopefully not, at least. Deciding that sitting there thinking on it isn’t going to do anything for anybody, Will speaks back up.

“Well, yeah. There’s plenty of things to do in this village, but sadly, I’m not suited for a lot of them.” Will says, grinning sheepishly. “Playing guitar and cooking is about the extent to what I can do with my hands. Anything more than that and…”

“He’ll screw it up!”

“…Thanks, Jill. But yeah, she’s right. I’m not sure why, but other than those two things, I’m not that great with my hands. Scared of horses…riding them mostly, but still scared of horses, so rancher would definitely be out the window. Suppose running a shop wouldn’t be too much out of the question, but the thing is, what kind of shop?” Pondering his own question for a minute, the expression on Will’s face softens. “Ah, I’m sure I’ll figure something out! I’m really sorry about that too, Aislinn. I’m sure the last thing you wanted today was to hear about my problems.”

Brie was rather dismayed by the fact she had lost her sketchbook. She felt.... anxious without it. What if she just got inspired? What would she draw on? When she tried to ask people if they had seen it, they didn't even notice her among the hustling and bustling. Brie sighed with disappointment. Did someone take it? The thought made her feel horrible, so she shook the possibility out of her head. <br>
<br>
She scanned the area, hoping to see a sign of it. But it was no use. A young man, leaning quietly against the back wall, caught her eye. He seemed quiet, an sort of in a daze, like Brie usually looks. If he was quiet, then he was more likely to have seen her sketchbook than those who kept babbling on. She gently approached him, he seemed in deep thought, which made Brie not want to disturb him. "Um, have you seen a sketch book around here?" She asked politely. "It's black and about this big," She used her hands to describe it's size. Brie's eyes showed some anxiety, as she waited for the man's reply. She knew it was very unlikely that he'd seen it, but she might as well give it a try.

"Well, that is true." Ulysses conceded, offering a small nod. He'd met most of his acquaintances when out and about, but yes, he had had the privilege of making two new acquaintances in one day due to his place of employment. "You are welcome," Ulysses replied, smiling lightly.

When Miss Sparrow had stopped herself, Ulysses began to fear that the question he brought up had not been a smart one. Sometimes, things did fall bad between siblings, and he did have first-hand experience with how siblings could fight. However, he and his brother were presently on pretty good terms, had been for some time. But it seems he needn't worry, for then she did continue and reveal that she did indeed have some half-siblings. "London? Is that your home town?" Ulysses asked curiously, then went on with,

"I have a brother myself, back in the United States. His father is my only sibling, though." Ulysses said, by way of adding his own in. He was starting to feel that perhaps he was talking a little too much, but then Sparrow asked who put him up to this and was looking at Trey and giving the young boy a wink. Trey took on an innocent expression, clasping his hands tightly before him and turning from side-to-side slowly, not moving his feet.

"...Maybe," He admitted, drawing out the word. Ulysses smiled then, ruffling up his nephew's hair some.

"Ah, but his ol' Uncle feel right for it, unfortunate for him." Ulysses said, cracking a smile.

As the brunette approached him, Julian was too lost in his musical world to notice. "...a sketch book around here?" Coming out of his thoughts, he looked at the young woman standing beside him, looking quite distraught. "It's black and about this big," Taking a second to figure out what she was asking, he realized she was talking about a sketchbook. I guess she lost it...how dreadful.

Thinking a moment, he shook his head, smiling at her apologetically. But then something struck him; he had seen something very much like a sketchbook when he had arrived, hadn't he? Excitedly, he nodded, ignoring his previous gestures, and took hold of the girl's hand. It was a full house after all, and since he couldn't call out to her, it would be easier to pull her along behind him. Carefully griping her hand, he began to lead her towards the front of the building; he was sure he had seen her lost sketchbook!...at least he thought he had.

Brie still looked disappointed, even though she expected this answer, when she say the young man shake his head. She started to walk away, until she felt something grab her hand as she was pulled by the blonde. Where is he taking me? Brie thought as she let him lead her. <br>
<br>
The smile on his face told her that he knew something. Perhaps he remembered where it was? She looked around as they continued walking, glancing at the talkative people. When they started to slow down at the front of the building, Brie noticed something familiar lying on the ground. Letting go of the man's hand, she walked over and pick up a book with a leather black cover. Flipping though it's pages, her lips broadened into a smile. She looked up at the gentlemen, her face beaming with joy. "Thank you so much!" She held the book close to her chest and bowed gracefully. Brie's emerald green eyes glistened with relief.

"Ohh why am I so nervous??" Jewel stepped into the large room, full of prospective dates, and looked around. The instant she had heard that they were having a dating auction, she knew she would be going. She had kept her name out of the pool though; she figured being bet on wasn't becoming of a mother of two young children. Doesn't mean I can't spare some gold though~!

It had been a long time since she last dressed up, that she felt a bit strange in her short, turqouise v-neck dress, and with her hair pulled up off her neck. Looking down at herself, she scrunched up her nose. Well...you don't look like a total slut at least...you're wearing REAL pearls. Nodding, she looked up, once again confident.

And then her eyes laid upon the back of a thin, silver haired fellow. Brightening up she quickly made her way over to him. Reaching out a hand, she touched his shoulder. "Zen~! I didn't expect to..." However when she saw the fellow's face, he looked...well he looked almost exactly like Zen, but something was off. Not to mention his nametag read 'Morigan.' Flushing some, she released his shoulder. "Oh! I'm terribly sorry you looked just like someone I know!"

As the girl released his hand and hurried towards the lost sketchbook, Julian grinned; he had actually gotten something right! It was a wonderful feeling, reuniting her with her sketchbook. Especially with how happy she looked. His smile softening, he watched her warmly. I know that feeling...

As she thanked him and bowed, he returned it with a low, sweeping bow. Standing up straight, he grinned, giving her a thumbs up. Dropping his hand, he looked at the girl a moment. She seems nice. Pointing to the food table, he looked at her questioning with his eyes, Would you like to get something with me?

Brie noticed how the man's face seemed full of understanding. Did he have an attachment to something like this as well? Brie squinted a little as she focused her eyes on his name tag. J-U-L-I-A-N.... So his name is Julian... She widened her eyes as she notice him make a gesture. "hm?" Brie glanced over to where he was looking. Finally understanding what he meant, she nodded her head in response. A smile beamed back onto her face, as she began to walk with Julian. <br>
<br>He didn't talk, so she could only assume... I'm guessing your name is Julian, right?" She spoke smoothly, as she pointed to her name tag. Obviously gesturing that her name was Brienna, or, Brie for short. as she used her hand to cover up the rest of her name.

Seeing the girl squint at his chest, he looked down to see what she was staring at. ...my nametag! Feeling like a total goober, he was embarrassed that he hadn't done that in the first place. And that he had forgotten he was even wearing it.

Seeing her smile, he took it to mean she would indeed go and get some food with him. Walking beside her, he glanced at her when she spoke. Smiling, he nodded, pointing to his nametag, forgetting she had already gotten a good look at it. As she gestured to her own tag--which he had missed completely--he saw that she was actually showing him what her nickname was too! How clever!

Smiling, he nodded to show he understood. Brie...how cute! He himself never really had a nickname, which had never bothered him before. But now he wished he could just to be as cool as Brie was. This was quickly forgotten though once they reached the food table. Stopping in front of it, he looked at her in question, holding his hands out, ready to get her whatever her clever little heart desired.

Brie obviously didn't understand Julian's last gesture, since she grabbed a couple of plates and set one in his hand. Her smiling eyes basically said 'help yourself.' As she served herself a small salad with a croissant on the side. She stood there and waited for Julian to get what he wanted.<br>
<br>
She was glad she had finally found someone to 'talk' to. It was certainly better than sitting around doing nothing. And he helped her find her sketchbook! Brie wish she knew of a better way to thank him. The thought lingered in her head as she waited for the blonde to be finished.

“He’ll screw it up!” had been Jill's oh-so-helpful comment on her brother's ability to not do anything else besides the two things that he'd described that he could do. Here, Aislinn chuckled softly. Was the man really incapable of doing other things well? She highly doubted that. At least, until he agreed with her that he really couldn't. The things that he said he couldn't do after he agreed with his sister were only a few things. Aislinn was sure that there were many other things that he would be able to do as long as he put his mind to it. <br><br>

“Ah, I’m sure I’ll figure something out! I’m really sorry about that too, Aislinn. I’m sure the last thing you wanted today was to hear about my problems.”<br><br>

That had brought Aislinn out of her own little reverie, going over other possibilities that he had besides opening a shop or becoming a rancher. Well, he could simply work in one of the shops... it probably wasn't too difficult to find a job in the village. She wasn't quite sure what he would be capable of doing, since she didn't know him too well yet.. but at least those would be simple jobs that anybody could do.. right? Either way, like Will had said, she was sure that he'd figure something out.<br><br>

She laughed lightly and waved her hand slightly. "Oh don't worry. I love listening to other people. And it's something to talk about, no?" Aislinn gave him a light smile before taking a sip of her tea. Eyes glanced about for a quick moment before focusing on Will again. "Like I said before, I'm sure there's plenty of other things that you could do. Don't sell yourself short by saying you can't do certain things when you haven't exactly tried it." She chuckled softly at that.<br><br>

Of course, Aislinn couldn't be sure that he hadn't tried other things, perhaps that's why he was so quick to agree with his sister. As for her, she'd always been the type to try new things out, just to see how well she could do it. She had never been the type to excel at anything, but she was perfectly content with being able to do things well at all. It was the knowledge that she was able to do it that made her feel accomplished. Which was also why she always told people not to sell themselves short. After all, a person wouldn't know what they were exactly capable of until they tried everything out at least once.

”Oh, don’t worry. I love listening to other people. And it’s something to talk about, no?”

Certainly a relief there. As much as he does love to talk, Will does realize that at times, he can tend to do it a little more than people would prefer him to. Aislinn actually wanting to listen to what he has to say for an extended period of time…well, something about that makes Will feel warm inside. Of course, he doesn’t mind hearing about what Aislinn has to say either.

Speaking of Aislinn, Will feels his face warming up yet again as the woman tells him not to sell himself short. While it isn’t exactly her saying she believes in him or anything deep like that, it at least shows a semblance of faith in him. After all, Aislinn doesn’t seem to be the type to lie, so he doubts that she’s saying it for kicks. Not as if anybody really had put him down throughout his life, but it’s still nice to hear nice things like that from time to time. Realizing that he probably looks a little silly at this point, the black haired man opts to take a moment to compose himself. Looking for an out, he notices one as his tea is empty.

“Well, shoot…I’m getting a little parched.” Will concedes. Yes, it serves his purpose, and he is rather thirsty, so he technically isn’t lying. “I may as well get you two a refill while I’m up too. Back in a sec!”

Grinning at the two women at the table, Will stands up and grabs the two glasses before anybody can say a thing. As she watches her brother run off, Jill finds herself blinking in confusion before giggling a little bit in response. Always fun to watch her older brother get flustered, especially when she doesn’t even have to work too hard to push buttons. Turning her attention back to her newfound buddy, Jill flashes her a grin.

“Well now, that was, um…interesting? He might be a dork, but he really does mean well.” Jill says before getting a touch more serious. “By the way, sorry if I’m being a pain in the ass. I noticed the little look you shot me, so I’ll tone it down a bit. After all…” Jill pauses briefly, her smile returning to her face. “…I wouldn’t want you to get second thoughts or anything because of me. So then, all things considered, you’re having a good time, right? If you want me to shove off or anything, I suppose I could go do a bit of window shopping myself…er, not that I’d need to! …Right?”

"Zen~! I didn't expect to..." No one in their right mind would approach his brother like that unless he acted well upon them. He froze for a moment when he was spun around, his face that of both horrid anticipation and worry. When he spotted the woman's face, the lovely look of appeasement painted on her features, he felt safe to assume this was the woman Zen had become somewhat infatuated with. "Oh, Oh dear me, you must be Jewel, I've heard so much about you." He pushed a pale hand to his chest to quell his thundering heart from the dreadful start she had given him. He looked to his brother who caught his eye and nodded, abandoning talking to the night owl he had met in the winter in an instant in favor of his Jewel.

:blue Zen Olius :blue

He checked on his brother for a very pleasant surprise. Jewel He slipped away without even bidding goodbye and took the woman's hand. "ah my dearest." He opened his arms in a manner to her her with a pleasant look on his face.He lifted her hand to his face and kissed the back delicately, long silvery strands tickling the flesh slightly. "It's been too long." His hands reached for her stomach as if it were common knowledge he'd want to be closer to that part of her. His brother's face seemed shocked none-the less at his brazen action. He felt where the child used to be. "How's the baby? Do you need any help with her?" He missed the feeling of her large stomach with that tiny little being growing inside her, now that she was out in the world he worried as if she were his daughter and Jewel; his wife.

Before entering into the large Estate the dark brunette stopped only feet away from the door. "What have I gotten myself into?" she asked quietly while looking through the front windows. She saw many many shadows of people laughing and talking so loud that Taryn was sure she could hear each conversation clearly from where she stood. This made her even more nervous then before. She wasn't much of a crowd pleaser.

A low groan escaped her lips as she fiddled with her hair and tugged at her clothes to rid of any present wrinkles. "Well," she sighed heavily, "here goes nothing." With that said, Taryn walked forward and opened the rather large door. Once she was safely inside Taryn reached down deep into her purse and pulled out the name tag she had been given when she had so foolishly signed up for this event. She stared at it for a few moments before pinning it to her pale green silk ruffled blouse then fiddled with her clothing some more.

After tagging herself and making herself presentable once again, she followed the signs that led her to, what she believed to be, the largest room in the entire Estate. As she neared the entrance way the many voices bounced off the walls towards her, nearly knocking her off her feet from shock. "I can't do this," she told herself with a shake of her head which now felt rather dizzy, "I can't. I just can't." However something deep down inside of her was pushing her towards the crowd even as she spoke out against such an act.

Taryn soon found herself right there smack dab in the middle of the entrance way. What was she to do? Where was she to go? The snack table, maybe? No.. that would give off the wrong impression of her. How about the middle of the floor in high hopes of catching someone's attention? No.. How about the distant wall in the back? Yes! That was a great idea, in fact it was the most brilliant idea that Taryn had come up with since before signing up for this date auction.

So ever so slowly her feet began to move her towards the crowd and weaved her slim body in and out until she reached the far wall. Once she was safe and sound Taryn leaned back against the wall. "Phew!" she exclaimed to herself as she let out a deep breath. Safe at last.

Leon had spent many hours at home contemplating if he would really attend the Date Auction. Why he had signed up, Leon had no clue. He had just been passing by when he heard someone call out to him and asked him if he wanted to sign up. So of course, his weakness of rarely being able to say no, he signed his name down on the piece of paper.

Once he had decided he would attend Leon dressed up in his normal get up, his work clothes, and set out on his way to some Estate listed on the paper with all the details for the night. It didn't sound like too much fun but something could come up and change all that. He wasn't really going with high hopes of finding his soul mate or even just a date. He was just going for the mere fun of watching the crowd of people make fools of themselves and the free food of course.

Upon arrival Leon realized that he had forgotten his name tag on the night stand by the bed. "Dammit!" he said rather loudly as he continued on his way up to the door. He would have to find someway to improvise.

Soon enough he found himself amongst the busy crowd and slowly but surely he soon scooted his way towards the snack table. "Ah ha," he said as he reached for a napkin and folded it in half. He then reached for a stray pen nearby and wrote his name on the 2 ply paper. Leon then stuffed the napkin into the pocket of his vest making sure that his name was visible for all to see.

Mena was so bored with where she was. Menaka was with her grandma so she was stuck just wandering around. She would walk by the snack table every once in awhile, but other than that nothing really caught her eyes. A couple of hot guys maybe. She was no good at flirting so she wasn't going to go up to them. She was so shy it was funny.Ever since she had Menaka she was extremely anti-social around guys...but since it was a special event she decided she'd give it a try. She was nervous since it had been awhile. She saw a white haired guy nearby and figured maybe she could talk to him.

She walked near him but paused in her footsteps. Maybe she should just leave. She went to walk back but ended up tripping leaving her skirt flip up around her boobs with her lacy underwear on full display. "Ow...." was the onlyt thing that could slip out of her mouth.
