Silver grabbed a plate and looked over the food. the aromas were heavenly and appatizing. Silver really didn't know where to start but Rack had already started to pick out her food. Silver eyed the buffet over again and started to choose his choices. There was a major theme going on with the colors. Red and white. Not Silver's favorate colors but they were nice. As Silver finished loading his plate he walked with rack back to the table to start the meal.

"Pretty nice set up." said Silver. "Who ever set this up is real generous."

"I agree" Rack said, taking a bite of her cake. "Good things it only comes once a year, right?" she continued, swallowing. It must have cost a lot to afford it all. They probably had been shipping ingredients from the mainland for a few months. Rack hoped this town had more parties like it.

Rack dabbed off some chocolate from her danish, and waved her finger in front of Sea. The black kitten sniffed at it, before licking the chocolate off. Large amounts of chocolate could be fatal to cats or dogs, but just a tiny bit was okay once in a while.

Brie laughed along with Wes. "That's a good one!" Brie agreed, as she tried to remember what exactly her real parents used to say to her..... but she couldn't remember, the only thing she could remember was her foster parents.... "My foster parents were the exact opposite... 'Get rid of your art, you'll ruin the cashflow with your stupid fairytales and imagination!'" Brie imitated her foster father's voice, making hers deep with a snobby accent. After it, she stayed rather silent.

"Wow......that kinda sounded like my dad. Big business man he is" Wes said. Brie had fallen silent, eye cast down at her plate. "I'm guessing they weren't very enjoyable. Living with my dad was like living in hell" Wes said, his softening. It remained quiet for a few seconds. Wanting to break some silence, Wes began eating his second tart.

Weather she wanted to talk about why she had fosters, it didn't matter. These kind of things, they were delicate matters. Not to be spoken of lightly..........

Seeing the girl simply stare down at her plate sent a barrage of worries firing into his brain. He seemed to lean in a little bit, eyes squinting both to observe her and handle the tsunami of anxious thoughts that flooded his mind: Holy crap, I got too much. Does she think that I think she's fat and needs all that? Does she hate all of those things? Is she on a diet? Is she going to tell me to send it back? Or throw it in my face? Dump it on the floor? What if she doesn't want it but only forces herself to eat it to be polite? What if that makes her throw up? And I can't forget my brililant line. What if she thinks I'm an idiot? I kind of am, but I mean she doesn't need to know. What if she just leves? Augh, oh my god, oh my god, oh my god, oh my g--

Huh? Surprise replaced his panic as Chou smiled. "Yes, I love food. Thank you for getting em a plate," she replied, as her large, bright eyes studied the variety of snacks he had gotten for her. Jacob watched her, stunned. She... it was all okay. Wait, it was all okay? He sighed, relieved, and sank back into his chair. But he still felt kind of uneasy. Mostly because he felt stupid about his panic and nervousness. After all, this wasn't a life-or-death situation, it was a date. Although they felt synonymous to him, it was no excuse for him to go insane. But the fact that he couldn't control his anxiety was frustrating; almost infuriating. For the most part, though, it was unsettling. If his struggle to get a hold of himself persisted, the stress would only build up and things would only get worse.

For now, though, he pushed such thoughts away as Chou went on to elaborate on her answer. Jacob gave a nod as he learned that she liked to cook and make her own recipes. Studying her, he saw that the girl seemed a little less tense, which washed another wave of relief over him. Picking up a cookie of his own - shaped something like an excessively chubby Cupid - and bit into it. He chewed slowly and almost thoughtfully, enjoying the sweetness. The more he chewed, the tastier it seemed to become. So he took another bite, a bigger one this time, and ended up chewing it faster. Again, the taste seemed to intensify and he found himself taking off an even larger piece. Before he knew it, he was onto another cookie, and another... and finally, halfway through his fourth, he realized that he had just stuffed three and a half of them into his mouth within a few minutes.

Putting down his fourth, he quickly swallowed, and cleared his throat. Well then.

Embarrassed, the man, in turn, began glaring daggers at the food. Why must you be so delicious, one might caption his expression. However, he was really thinking, Why must I be starving all the time. Both he and his sister were disasters with food, and since money was too tight to eat out every day, they were often hungry. Jacob opened his mouth slightly to explain this to Chou - after all, leaving her with a random display of gluttony without explanation was illogical. But, he caught himself. How would it sound, telling her that he had a job but could not eat? After a brief moment, though, he decided on something to say.

"Sorry," he eventually mumbled, gaze still averted. "Didn't eat yet." It wasn't a lie either - he hadn't. It... just wasn't the entire truth. Hiding it did feel a little bad, but he figured he didn't need to sully Chou's impression of him any more. If that a was possible...?

Then, while he was admitting things, the man figured it would be good to tell her, "And sorry. Again. I'm a bad talker... er. That is, conversationalist." Pause. "Yeah." With that said, maybe... uh... hm. Actually he wasn't quite sure what confessing (or obviously stating) was supposed to accomplish. Maybe make things less awkward? Explain his lack of speaking? Jacob honestly wasn't too sure. But for now, at least, it eliminated a little bit more of the silence.

“My sister…nice?” Will asks, a hint of mischievousness in his voice. “That’s got to be a first.”

Relaxing in his chair as he listens to Rumi, Will’s grin continues to grow as the redhead states that she is/was a J-Rocker. Well, that’s good for common ground, as the black haired man plays rock as well. Not exactly the same kind as his red headed companion, but the basics or more or less the same. Something that makes the man’s ears perk up is the fact that Rumi mentions that she was famous back in Japan…well, certainly there’s been more than one musician that has been burnt out by the spotlight, so it’s a feasible statement. After all, Rumi doesn’t have any reason to lie, right? Another thing that Will notes is the playful giggle that escaped the woman’s throat before she stated her musical preference. Well, this should be fun, at least…

“So the spotlight was beginning to give you a figurative sunburn, hmm? Well then, it’s only understandable that you got out of there. I’d hate to see a pretty little thing like you toasted.” Will says with a smirk on his face. “As for me, I do the rock and roll thing myself. Not on the big stage like you, but rather in bars and clubs.”

Taking a break from speaking long enough to take a sip of his punch, Will looks back to the attractive redhead and poses another question.

“So, is there anything in particular that Rumi would like to do today?”

"Yeah, my parents thought of me as their money tree instead of their daughter," Brie looked up and started to seem a bit less down. "But I'm free of them now so that's that." She nodded her head and smiled. Brie popped another bite of cranberry scone into her mouth. She attempted to ignore her thoughts about her foster parents, she didn't want to drag Wes down, after all, he didn't deserve this.

Yasumi felt his throat constrict, and it became hard to breathe. His hands, which had retreated to hide underneath the table, and grip painfully at his pants, began to curl into tight, solid fists. It was too much for him to handle, but hadn’t he known that already? He should have known that, yet his misplaced desire had placed him into a situation he shouldn’t have been in in the first place.

Swallowing hard against the dry lump that had formed within his throat, Yasumi felt the tension and awkwardness too unpleasant to handle and his gaze faltered, lowering down away from the woman across from him to instead glare at the items on the table.

Lately, he had succumbed to the fact that he could not relate with others. It had taken him a very long time to try and accept that part of him, and now he felt as though he were almost angered by the fact that this woman could so casually discuss something that had once been important to him.

Chou paused as she lifted another cookie up, and blinked roundly when she noticed how quickly Jacob was eating the cookies on his place. Although staring was rude, Chou didn’t think about that. Really, to be honest, she became rather fascinated as she watched him pick up one cookie after another, and practically gobbling the cookies down.

Then, to her astonishment, she saw him slowly lower the cookie had was just about to bite into and proceed to glare down at the plate. Of course, she had seen that glare many times before, except on another person. Somehow, though, it didn’t seem intimidating or threatening on him. At least, not anymore. Actually, to be completely honest, she was grinning from ear to ear as she silently watched him, and then nervously bit on her bottom lip as she tried to keep a laugh down.

It was… cute! She didn’t really know how else to describe it, but she saw the way he was glaring down at his cookies, as though trying to intimidate them or have some sort of mental threatening conversation with him just… adorable.

In the end, she couldn’t help it. At first she giggled, but then as she bit down on her bottom lip again, and lifted a hand up to her chest, trying to stop the impulse, it only seemed to make it grow. Quickly, she lifted up her hand and covered her mouth, grinning behind her hand, and laughed.

I-I’m very sorry,” She finally managed after a moment or two. “For laughing,” She reiterated, and then took in a big, refreshing breath. “You don’t have to apologize for eating! Eat all the cookies you want. They’re very good, aren’t they? I like them a lot, too!

Laughter still lighting her eyes, she grinned over at him.

This is fun,” She mused a second later, and picked up another cookie of her own, taking a big bite out of it.

It was nice to know he was okay that she’d ordered cookies, and wasn’t afraid to share from the same plate. She’d known a few germ-o-phobs from her past. It was extremely hard to have a simple girls day out, thus being one of the reasons Lia didn’t ever have a very close friendship with any of her girl friends..well except for Taryn. “There we so many cookies I didn’t know what kind to get. I never thought it could be so difficult to simply pick out a plate of treats.” Her hand rose up to her mouth as she laughed, and once she had finished her hand returned to her lap.

Order? Lia looked off to the side at her soup thinking it was probably pretty cold by this point. How long could soup stay warm? Curious, her fingers reached over slowly sliding her soup bowl in front of her and she placed her hands around the bowl. Her assumptions have been correct; the soup was most definitely cold by now. That wasn’t any fun, and she pushed the bowl outwards from her a bit. “My soup seems to have gone cold, I think I’ll get some more but I’m pretty sure we’re not ordering it.” Both of her eyes glanced to the center of the place, eyeing the large Refreshments and Food table.

“I got my soup and cookies from the table in the center. They have plates, napkins and all of the necessities needed for tonight. “ Upon glancing back to Derek she watched him knock over the salt and pepper shaker, her hand instantly fell back to her mouth unable to hold back a giggle that surpassed her lips. Oops! Sorry, sorry! Guess I oughtta watch what I'm doing... Another small giggle fell, unable to be contained and Lia felt as if she could have been watching herself if she was nervous. It was honestly very adorable, but lord knows you could never tell a grown man they were cute, adorable or any other feminine sounding words. “Oh it’s quite alright!” She quickly uttered “No harm done, and it would have been a easy cleanup process.”

"Should we go get our food, now?" She asked, reaching out and moving the salt and pepper shaker to the side of the table. She had decided they were probably a bit safer there.

Brie blushed and looked to her side, "I've got to stop speaking whatever comes into my mind, but.... speaking of looking towards the future, do you want to go hang out outside once we're done here?" She smiled again at Wes and threw in a wink. She was starting to like Wes a bit more, he was really nice.

Ivy bit her lip as Yasumi stiffened? Had she said something to offend him? She mentally reviewed her words, wondering what she had said. Her brow knitted together, jaw clenching tightly. She glanced at her hands, wondering why this man had even signed up for the blind dates. He could've been paired up with some bubbly, outgoing young woman who would've more than likely grated his nerves quicker than she had, and all she had done was talk about Japanese poetry. Surely that wasn't so bad.

Either way, it didn't seem that this date was going as planned. She quietly finished off the second cookie, wishing she had gotten something to drink. Her mouth was feeling incredibly dry, and she sincerely hoped that her distress wasn't showing on her face. So much for being mysterious, she thought with an inward sigh.

She cleared her throat, glancing at Yasumi. Perhaps it would help if they weren't cooped up somewhere so stuffy. "I'm terribly sorry if I have offended you somehow. Would you maybe like to go somewhere else? I don't really mind where..." Her voice trailed off as her eyes made their way back to her hands.
