The Peeps: Will/Chou The Event: Hot Cocoa! ((Ugh, sorry for being so late with this. Had my work schedule changed, so I get to cope with that. But on a bright note, I do like the new format. Looks nice! ^_^)) -- Still keeping a concerned eye on Chou as she changes her footwear, Will can’t help but smile at the girl. She definitely gets points for trying, at least. Not sure if she’ll take him up on the offer to attempt it some other time, but he figured it would be good to leave it on the table for her to think over. After all, the black haired man can’t really say that he dislikes spending time with his newfound friend. Eyebrow arching ever so slightly, Will keys in as it appears that Chou is about to speak. ”I really like hot chocolate. I make it at home a lot.” After a quick break to put on her boots, the wide eyed girl continues. ”And I always put a whole bunch of marshmallows in, and they all melt together and it looks really strange, but I really like it.” After listening to Chou’s little confession, a small chuckle escapes from his lips. Cute and a little bit on the childish side. An interesting combination, to be sure. Her and Jill could probably become quick friends if they ever met. At least they like the same kind of hot chocolate modifications, at least. Opting to share his favorite little recipe, Will speaks up. “Yeah, marshmallows aren’t bad at all. But as far as my favorite little hot chocolate trick, I like mint. My older brother came across that little trick by accident one day, but it turned out pretty good. Just melt a peppermint in the cocoa and enjoy…” Will trails off a bit before slapping himself in the forehead. “…ah, but me talking about it is just making me thirstier for it. I’ll be right back!” Smiling and flashing a wink at Chou, Will hops up to his feet and sprints off to go get the hot delicacy. As he runs along, he can’t help but notice that his sister has managed to actually find her way to the festival as well and is seemingly having herself a blast as she exchanges snowball fire with several other teens. Waving at her as he runs by, Jill looks at him with a puzzled look before Will points behind him. The dark haired girl glances over and notes the girl on the bench. Sure enough, Jill’s face lights up and she shoots her older brother a thumbs up. Not sure why Jill is giving him a thumbs up for making a new friend, but Will puts it to the back of his mind for the time being. After a short wait in line, Will manages to get his beverages and is briskly walking back to the bench. Looking over at the cup in his right hand, the man hopes that he had gotten enough marshmallows for Chou. Got a nice white umbrella of the melted fluff completely covering the top of the styrofoam cup, so he figures he did good. If not, he can always make a return trip. Grinning as he sees Chou at the bench in the near distance, Will slightly picks up his pace, not wanting to make the girl think that he ran off and ditched her or anything of the sort. A few more good strides and the man finds himself seated back on the bench, holding out the marshmallow loaded cup for his companion. “There we are. One piping hot cup of cocoa, loaded with marshmallow.” Will grins as he reaches into his coat pocket to pull out a peppermint. After dropping it in to his own drink, the man continues on. “…and one piping hot cup of cocoa, loaded with marshmallows and with the joy of mint for me. Cheers!” |

"Soleil," Ulysses repeated the name, taking great care to try and pronounce it correctly. And managed to get it pretty good, without making (much) further a fool of himself. Smiling again at the woman, he looked at her and said, "What a beautiful name, Miss Soleil, to suit its owner." Clasping his hands behind his back, he leaned backwards a bit and started to look around. "Hm, the food is smelling quite delicious. I can't wait until its done and have some, huh, Trey?" Ulysses asked his nephew, whom smiled up at him and nodded his head. It was really the most he could manage at the moment, but he was quickly distracted by watching a girl, not much older than him, trying to make a snowman over on the lawn. He kinda wanted to go and help her, but after the snowball fight, he wasn't too sure now. |

The People: Caleb/Clint The Event: Talking Shop -- ”But yeah, yer right - I do own a horse.” Caleb smiles at Clint as his hypothesis is proven correct. As an added bonus, it seems that the taller man has decided not to try to pick a fight, though with the tensing up and the narrowing of the eyes with his ‘where’s your horse at’ line, it was definitely an unfortunate possibility. Definitely pleasant that he isn’t living up to the whole ‘American cowboy=drunken redneck’ idea that his parents had tried and failed to put in his head. “Fair enough, Mr. Allen.” The blonde replies to the man’s statements. “It would be a little strange to bring a horse here. With all the ice around, it could definitely be quite a safety hazard, for both other people and the horse.” Truthfully, the talk about horses is starting to make Caleb get the itch to ride again. It’s been a couple of years since he has, but the man figures that it should be just like riding a bicycle; a bicycle with flesh, blood, and four legs instead of two wheels, but a bicycle nonetheless. Of course, with the way the weather is, it might be a good idea to wait for things to be a little less slip and slide-ish, especially considering his lack of practice. Also, having a horse would be a good thing for starters as well. Figuring to go with the common ground that he’s discovered, Caleb continues on. “It’s been quite a while since I’ve ridden myself.” Caleb says, quite literally speaking his mind. “Maybe one of these days I could hop back on again. Certainly seems like there’s plenty of places to ride on this island, after all.” |

Truthfully, she had never thought about putting mint into it, and it sounded like a rather neat idea. She really liked those peppermint sticks you could buy from almost any store during Christmas time. Well, then, Christmas was coming up soon, wasn’t it? She’d have to travel out to one of the local grocery stores and buy herself some peppermint and try it out! The Peeps: Will/Chou The Event: Cocoa Conversation! -- Watching on as Chou thanks him for the hot beverage, Will can’t help but smile at the happy girl. Cheerfulness certainly is addictive, at least in Will’s case. As the man stretches out his legs, he takes a sip of his cocoa, slightly burning his tongue as he does so. Maybe he should have taken his companion’s lead and at least made an attempt to cool it down before consumption. Oh well. Live and learn, though one would think that the black haired man would be a little smarter about it at his age. The man’s thoughts on life, the universe, and hot chocolate are put on hold for the moment though at the sound of Chou’s voice. ”Do you know a lot of people on the island?” Will finds himself slightly thrown by the question, being confused as to why it was asked. Mentally slapping himself a split second later, the man realizes why. While being a ninja would certainly be cool, Will is perfectly aware that it won’t ever happen, and thus Chou watched him run off for the drinks and probably saw him wave to Jill as well. As he gauges the girl’s question, a chuckle escapes from the man’s lips before he responds. “Truthfully Chou, not too many right now.” Will confesses. “As you can probably guess, I’m a bit of a newcomer in town. My sister Jill and I moved here right around the beginning of Winter. Not counting the sunbeam of a man known as my landlord, you would actually be the third person that I have met. I’ve really got to get out more, hmm?” Will laughs in response to his own statement, fully realizing how dorky it must have sounded. Looking back to his companion, the black haired man opts to ask a question of his own. “So then, what about yourself, Chou? Are you from here, and if not, what brings you to this little isle of paradise?” Will waits patiently for the girl’s answer, but unfortunately, instead of hearing Chou’s voice, he hears a thud followed by a familiar girl’s profanities. “Why you little…you do not throw a snowball with a rock in it!” “It was an accident!” “Oh, don’t run, you little son of a…” Looking behind them, Will grimaces as he sees the source of the commotion. A kid, probably in his younger teens is running away in fear from, you guessed it, Jill. As his sister comes into view, the man can notice the damage caused by the unintentional rock ball in the form of a slight cut on the woman’s right cheek. Gulping nervously as he sees Jill slowly catching up with the perpetrator, Will decides that it would be a good idea for everyone involved to step in. “Well, I hate to do this because I’m having a blast myself, but I’m going to have to call it a day.” Will quickly spouts off as he sees his sister pending for a rending out of the corner of his eye. “But if you’re interested in continuing our little chat, we live over at Bluebird Gateway in room 082...and please don’t let Jill scare you away. She’s really a sweetheart…most of the time! Hope to see you later!” Smiling nervously, Will bows as a means of farewell and chases off after Jill, hoping to keep the girl from pounding a terrified teenager into the ground like a railroad spike. |

Tag: Soleil "Go on, then." Ulysses assured his nephew it would be all right, when the boy looked up at him with wide-eyes. Turning to address the other adult, he bowed and waved a little at her, with retreating steps even as he did so. "Nice to meet you, miss Soleil," He said, doing his best to pronounce it correctly but coming up a bit short, took another step backwards, and waved again. "Bye now!" Then he turned and sped off at a jog, towards Irene, to help her roll the snowballs, as well as add on what finishing touches he might be able to help with. "Well, it was nice talking with you, Miss Soleil." Ulysses said, smiling. "But I fear, for the sake of avoiding future snowballs, that we should be parting ways before the dinner bell it called. I should probably make sure Trey doesn't take my example and accidentally hit any more innocent by-standers." He said, glancing off towards his nephew, but quickly looked to the woman again. Trey looked pretty content where he was, Ulysses didn't fear that much honestly, was more giving the woman an 'out,' so to speak, if she wanted one. |

Tag: Caleb/Clint -- ”Hey, I got a friend that runs the Livestock Shop up on Lazuli Hill. They’ve got a few horses t’spare, there.” Hmm…well, owning his own horse would certainly be interesting enough. The only drawback to it is where would Caleb raise it? He had planned on living in town, and to be honest, he isn’t too sure how he would deal with living on a farm. Maybe since Clint suggested it, he would have an idea. The blonde makes a note to ask later on if and when he does get a horse of his own. Which honestly, doesn’t sound too bad, once he gets everything squared away with his home and business. ”I wouldn’t mind ridin’ with ya sometime, maybe we could meet up up there in the Spring?” “Hmm…well, that does sound like it would be fun, Clint.” Caleb concedes, shocked that someone that was literally a stranger five minutes before would do something so kind. “I don’t have a horse of my own, but if we could figure something out…how about the middle of Spring then? Everything should be well melted and dry by then.” |
