Date;; Winter 15th, Year 6

Cecilia sat on the warm ground of the Sapphire Glade, which was warm throughout the season. Wearing a navy plaid dress, white tights and black dress shoes, she covered her face with the palms of her face, exhausted with all of the things rushing into her mind. She remembered parts of her memories little by little, and it was being pieced all together. When she was sixteen, she saw her mother pack her bags and head out the door after she was shocked that Cecilia wasn’t screaming in pain when she was burning. And after a few moments, she was covered in blood, looming over a dead person with thirty stab wounds around the body.

She was in tears when she first remembered that horrible scene. Who killed that person? Was it her, or was it someone else? Cecilia knew it couldn’t be her, since she would never had the guts to kill someone unless they made her life hell. She wiped her incoming tears with the sleeves of her dress and continued to look straight, still thinking what went wrong in that tragic nightmare.

How strange, but how convenient that they had a warm haven in the middle of a cold world.

As Xaria wandered into the Glade, she thought over this, bewildered. In her absence from the island, she had forgotten about this inexplicable phenomena. Though, along with her fascination and confusion, her appreciation was also revived. The priestess stopped at the edge, gazing about. How odd that she would forget such a scene. A patch of spring amidst snow and ice, as if the vicinity was protected by some sort of bubble. Bending down, the woman plucked a flower off the ground and twirled it slowly in between her fingers. She watched the pale yellow blur of the petals briefly before idly tucking it in her hair, just over her ear. That done, she continued her walk. She gazed up and the sky as she continued to stroll along. Her days had been somewhat... boring, hadn't they....? Usually, she just stayed in the temple, studying and attending to her various duties. Occasionally - like now - when there was nothing to do, she went for a walk or browsed the shops. And then went back home. It had been a strange routine at first, especially compared to her previously hectic and unstructured lifestyle. But now... it was comfortable. Monotonous and uneventful, yes, but that was what made it so. Though, she couldn't keep this up for very long, though. Eventually, something would have to give at some point. But for now... she figured she would just enjoy the easy, quiet country life.

Covering her mouth with a yawn, she then realized that she was overdressed for this part of the island. Shrugging off her long coat, she slung it over her arm and continued walking. For a while, she thought over why the Glade was stuck in an eternal spring. It said it was the Goddess' doing, but was it really? Xaria pondered over this. What else could explain it? She wasn't too knowledgeable in the ways of science, but it was interesting to think about...

However, before she could get too absorbed in her thoughts, Xaria noticed a girl sitting on the ground nearby. The woman slowed her pace somewhat, focusing on the female. She stared at her briefly before continuing to walk. As she saw the stranger from behind, she couldn't see her face or what she was doing. So she figured she was simply enjoying the warmth and merely continued on her way. When the priestess passed the girl though, she figured it would be good to say hello. No one wanted an unfriendly priestess, right?

"Hello, how are..." Xaria looked back as she addressed the dark-haired stranger, but found herself slowing to a stop and trailing once she saw her face. Turns out she wasn't just sitting there. Frowning, the woman hesitantly knelt down in front of the other female. Before she wouldn't have even thought of stopping, but now she felt the desire to help. Even if she didn't, she was sort of obligated to.... bound by duty and whatnot. In either case, despite whichever reason, she tilted her head and softly asked, "Why are you crying?"

Cecilia looked up and saw a woman with pink hair tilting her head, asking her why she was weeping. She couldn’t say she wasn’t crying, because there was proof of her crying. She sighed and smiled a bit. “Well, I have a lot on my mind lately… you see, I don’t remember everything about my past, but when I remember, I cry about it because it’s painful.” She didn’t want to go into detail about the stuff she just remembered a few moments ago. “But… I’m alright, still.” She stopped hugging her knees and laid out her legs. She didn’t want to be alone, so she was glad that this woman was here.

“My name’s Cecilia Gillespie… what’s your name?” She asked, curious.

Xaria nodded slowly as the girl replied. She was certainly a unique woman... with jet black hair and odd red eyes, she was not the kind of person one encountered daily. (Then again, she had pink hair and weird clothes but anyway...) There was also an air about her that added to this. Perhaps she was imagining it, but it felt sort of like there was something rather... sad hanging over her. Like a fog or a raincloud suspended above her head. Such an impression was only made stronger and more evident when the girl spoke, telling of what seemed to be her partial amnesia. As the priestess digested this information, a tiny wrinkle slowly formed on her brow. It was sort of troubling hearing that someone had this problem. And it felt odd, this feeling of concern. It had become only a more recent occurrence and thus, something she still had to get used to...

My name’s Cecilia Gillespie… what’s your name?” Xaria blinked at the girl for a moment, before giving her a slight smile. Well, she didn't have much to do and it didn't seem good to just walk away now. Besides, perhaps she could be of some help to this girl...? So the woman gently placed her coat on the ground in front of Cecilia and sat down.

"Xaria Laine," she replied with a nod. The woman turned her gaze to the sky, her gaze scanning over the clusters and clumps of cloud sprinkled throughout. She really had no idea how she could possibly help, or what would be a good line of conversation. But, after a moment of contemplation, she decided to begin by asking, "May I ask what brought you to this island? ... If you remember, that is."

For a moment, Cecilia tried to remember why she came to this island in the first place… all she could remember was… running away from something, as if she didn’t want to get caught from somebody or something. She was desperate for the answers she wanted to find, but they’d just slip away from her hands like a fish. Cecilia watched as the woman took off her coat and sat down, face to face. She didn’t feel comfortable stalking to strangers such as Xaria, but thought it’d be alright to talk to someone who looked caring.

“I don’t know but… I ran away from somebody or someone. I was so scared and felt so helpless. I want to try to remember but… the truth hurts.” She sounded like she was going to cry, but she wasn’t. Whenever she was scared, Cecilia always talked like this.

I don’t know but… I ran away from somebody or someone. I was so scared and felt so helpless. I want to try to remember but… the truth hurts.” Xaria met Cecilia's red eyes, holding her gaze as she listened to her answer. Hm... just what kind of horror had this young woman gone through? When the dark-haired female had finished speaking, the priestess allowed her eyes to fall to her lap. Truth be told, she really wasn't too sure what to say or do. There was no way to magically make a person's memories come poofing back. And even if there was, would Cecilia want the past returned, if it hurt? Sighing quietly, she gazed around the area, studying the blossoming trees. She was silent for a moment or so before she eventually spoke again. Meeting Cecilia's eyes again, she gave a slow nod. While she spoke, she gently smoothed out the front of her robes, and adjusted her legs which were tucked underneath her.

"The road to the ultimate goal is never easy," she began, selecting her words carefully. To be honest, Xaria wasn't exactly sure if this train of thought was the 'right' one to pursue. But, she figured it was better than silence. And so she went on, "I think, in order to grow and move forward in life, you have to endure the difficulties. And I think... if you strive for joy, it is even sweeter if you suffered along the way." Idly, she began to twirl a strand of hair around her finger. Well, if that was the wrong thing to say, she didn't want to linger on it too long. So, biting her lip thoughtfully, she tried to sift through ideas of other things to say to Cecilia. Eventually, her thought process led her to wonder, did she have anyone to help her out with all this? Was there anyone on this island she knew...?

She stopped twirling her hair, and let it fall slack around her finger. "Do you know anyone around here who might be able to help you out? Or through everything?"

Cecilia was told that the path to the dream goal was never easy, and that if she gained happiness, it would be better to suffer along the way. She’d just have to endure everything that came in her way. Maybe… Xaria was right. But, would she give up remembering everything? Maybe it’d be best for Cecilia that she focused on the things on her life first, and maybe she’ll remember everything if the time was right. She nodded a bit and watched Xaria twirl her pink hair a bit and letting loose.

She asked if she knew anyone on the island that could or possibly help out. She thought about the people she knew already. She hadn’t seen Blaise in a while, but he probably was gone. And Jim… she didn’t think he could help her out, but she’d have to see him to make sure. So, she shook her head. “No… I don’t think so.” Cecilia then had a question. “Do you think… you can help me out? You look like someone religious… like a priestess. Are… you one?”

Xaria interlocked her fingers, and then laid them on her lap. As she watched Cecilia and waited for her reply, she wondered... if she had the chance to forget everything, then would she? Her blue eyes wandered into her lap as well as she considered this. While she would not have to live with past guilt lingering over her shoulder, she would have to trade it with torment - the torture of not knowing who she was or where she came from... in other words, the horror of being completely and utterly lost. Slowly, she looked up at the dark-haired girl again. No, she wouldn't want to give up her memories, no matter how shameful they were. It seemed wrong, somehow, to even consider it while in front of a girl in Cecilia's situation. So, the woman shook off all of such thoughts just as the other female spoke again. “No… I don’t think so,” she replied. Then: “Do you think… you can help me out? You look like someone religious… like a priestess. Are… you one?”

The woman's eyes widened momentarily. While she had been a priestess for a while now, it still felt strange when people actually spoke the word aloud to her. "Yes, I am Obsidian's priestess," she proceeded to respond, once over the slight shock. Here, Xaria paused as she thought about helping her. Though, she wasn't thinking so much if she wanted to, but rather if she could. After a few seconds of silence, she grasped a bit of resolution and spoke again. "I would be happy to help you in any way I can. Truthfully, I am unsure if I will be able to... but I will certainly try my best."

Xaria's gaze floated away towards the sky as she thought. A realization eventually seemed to pass through her mind, as a small smile eventually appeared across her lips. She met Cecilia's eyes, her red irises a stark contrast with the blue of her own. "But... I suppose that we are all trying to find certainty within life and ourselves," she said, with a gentle but wry chuckle. "I'm not sure how I can help you do that, but perhaps we can discover all the answers together." Her smile widened a little. "If you still want to after hearing me ramble on like an old woman, of course."
