"The King, I presume?" Polite as always. Mary smiled warmly at Cole and gave a tiny nod before turning and cupping her hands to her mouth. "TENJUKAI! I FOUND THE GODDESS!" She turned back over to Cole and Ophelia; or, who she assumed was Ophelia. Seemed like the best bet, considering how her date had reacted. "Yeah, his name's Tenjukai Sajotae. Ah, but I guess you already figured that out..from the way I yelled at him..." Her voice quieted and she scratched at her cheek, grinning sheepishly. Rolling his eyes, Tenjukai pushed himself off the tree and began to approach the trio. Might as well get this over with. He sighed a bit reluctantly and eventually came to a halt in front of them. Quickly, he sized up this so called 'Goddess'. For a few good seconds, Tenj didn't bother to say a word. And then finally, when he did speak, it was pretty short and to the point. As usual. "Yeah, nice to meet you, I guess." He didn't exactly sound enthused or happy, given the occasion. He absentmindedly glanced over his shoulder. Feeling something jab into his foot, Tenjukai blinked and looked back. Mary had just lightly tapped him in the foot and was giving him an odd stare. He shook his head and figured that she probably wanted him to actually introduce himself. "Alright, fine. Hello. I'm Tenjukai. It's nice to meet you, regardless of the fact that you're a complete stranger that I need to dance with." He paused and looked over to Mary. "Happy?" Tenj scoffed and turned away from them. He glanced over his shoulder at Ophelia. "If you're going to dance hurry up, I haven't got all night and I'm sick of waiting." With that, he made his way back over to where he'd been before. |

She breathed a sigh of relief, noting that nothing suspicious had happened thus far and that must have been a good sign. Her sister had wandered off, presumably to the drink table, and it was just her and Cole now. Things would go swimmingly now for sure and she glanced up at her date. He looked nice, quite handsome actually, and it was rather sweet to see him all dressed up. In some strange way she fell into a fairytale daydream, where she and her prince were out at a ball. Of course, the ball happened to be in the middle of a glade rather than in a ballroom, but who was complaining? The scenery was beautiful.

Of course, as usual something retracted her from her dream world, and this time it happened to be a woman. A brunette had seemingly materialized in front of Cole and Ophelia, and she blinked a few times before fully registering what the woman was saying. Goddess knows, she spoke so fast and instantly became distracted, drawling off to mention Cole's name instead. Confusion settled in and Ophelia desperately wondered what the woman had been about to ask. That slow, sinking feeling that things were right came back, pestering her more this time. And it wasn't about to go away any time soon.

Not only did this woman know her name, but she mentioned that someone happened to be looking for her as well. Ophelia blushed slightly, wondering exactly why anyone would be searching for her, before Cole spoke up. The king?! She gasped audibly, looking around the area for any sight of royalty. When she found no one, she glanced back at the woman. "Yes ma'am, I'm Ophelia. But I wasn't aware any royalty would be joining us tonight... and I surely didn't know they were looking for me! Is there any reason as to why?" Her question was aimed at both Cole and Mary, and it was obvious by her facial expression that she was totally oblivious.

Of course, as usual her question was answered before she could even think about it, and a man soon joined them. A rather... scary man, to add to that. She blinked for a few seconds, noting that he certainly didn't look like any royalty she had ever met. All was well, though. That was, until he spoke. He was quite short, a bit rude even, and suddenly the woman felt as though she had done something wrong. She nodded politely to him, though she couldn't speak just yet. The woman with him jabbed at him, shocking the poor blond, and he spoke again. His words were what really topped off the paranoid feeling she'd had all night, and it took her a good minute before she really registered what he'd said. By the time she'd thought of a reply, an introduction, anything... he was gone.

"Nice to mee... er... he's gone." She blinked rapidly before turning to look at Cole. "What... is going on?"

[/dohtml] |

((Min Hee’s Dress)) Oh, it was absolutely fantastic! The young teen squealed with excitement as she pranced into the area, twirling about and singing as she went. Her dress looked rather like cotton candy with its blue and pink frills, and her hair was no different. She had dyed it again for the occasion. Her locks were now a shade of baby blue with vibrant, bubblegum colored streaks. She had even curled it. Why, she was quite obviously the most stunning girl to attend this festival! She had to be. Min Hee smiled to herself, confident of this, but glanced about the area as if to make sure. Some of the other females were rather beautiful themselves, but surely no one could compare to her! After all, it hadn’t been easy to reach the level of sheer exquisiteness that she now presented herself with. Kyung Soon had come down on her harshly after returning home from her little escapade in the storm, and sneaking out the bathroom window clutching a dress and a full case of makeup and beauty tools was no easy feat. After escaping, she had changed and prettied up at a bathroom in one of the shops, ignoring the baffled expression on the owner’s face when she emerged and dashed out the door in a flurry of pink and blue. Ah, the punishment she would receive when she returned to the inn would be horrible, but to miss such an event as this would have been far worse. Dancing and people and dressing up… She couldn’t afford to miss an opportunity like this! Especially not an opportunity to meet someone potentially date-worthy. So far, she’d yet to find a single boy to hold her interests, and this was simply unacceptable. This Cloud Shiwaru had to be the one. But what did he even look like? Frowning, Min Hee placed her hands on her hips and observed a couple a few feet away. They seemed to be getting along swimmingly. Now where was her date? Quickly choosing her course of action, she hurried toward the middle of the glade and shouted out as loudly as she could, jumping and waving her arms in a perky manner. “Mini Min Hee heeeerrreee~! If your name is Cloud Shiwaru, please come meet your lovely date~!” |

Blaze: Her Dress Melody: Her Dress Preston:His Suit Blaze cringed, hearing some girl yelling in the middle of the Glade. "Someone should put a muzzle on that girl, whoever she is." Leaning against the drink table, she sipped the soda she had, glancing over at her brother; his date hadn't shown up yet and she was thrilled. She was also thrilled his date wasn't the shrieking bird who had just appeared. Melody playfully hit her sister's arm. "Hush, Blaze! I'm sure she's just very excited to be here. Besides, she doesn't look much older than sixteen." She smiled at the girl in the middle; she really was quite cute and her colors reminded Melody of candy. She may have to draw her later on. Turning back to her brother, she smiled sympathetically. The poor thing sat in a chair looking so nervous. "Just relax, I'm sure she'll be here." Preston forced a smile, scratching the back of his head. "Y-yeah..but if she doesn't show up, it'll be fine, because that means I won't have to trip over her feet." He laughed nervously, pulling on his tie; why was it so itchy? |

She followed his lead over to a table where his friends were, and was surprised to see two teenagers. Or, she assumed they were teenagers, anyway- who knows? There were a lot of ridiculously young looking people around here. Maybe there was a fountain of youth somewhere on the island - better yet, maybe the Excavation Man was out to find it. Suppressing a grin, she glanced over at Fred for a moment. Ah, but it just wasn't nearly as fun to speculate now that she knew his actual name... or part of it. "Hey, it's nice to meet you guys," She greeted with a big smile, piping a cheery 'thanks' to Fred's gesture of pulling her chair out for her. "Sorry for barging, my date's AWOL for the time being. I'll try not to be intrusive." Lies. Even now as she sat down, her instinctive Need For Gossip was shooting through the roof. Sitting with two kids - well, kind-of kids - brought her back to the days of bathroom mirrors and love notes on the walls and the grand game of telephone down the high school hallways. Even though the school here was significantly smaller than hers had been back on Tangerine, she was sure it had its fair slice of drama. And even though, especially in such a formal setting, she really should have been acting her age, she found it hard to supress the need to be In with the Young Crowd. Ha. I know, right. "Sooo, how's everyone liking the music so far?" Small talk. Go with small talk. Maybe sneak in a few inquiries here and there, as subtly as possible. Swirling her harmless drink around in her glass, Chimera cocked her head. "Hopefully they've got something a little more lively for the dancing, hey?" |

"I'll try not to be intrusive." Fred put his hand up to his mouth to suppress a laugh. Her? Non intrusive? That was a joke. But, he had asked her over so he supposed he could afford to be semi nice. Turning his laugh into a cough, he leaned on his hand, "I'm sure I'll be able to dance to whatever tidily they decide to let loose; ain't that right, Jimbo?" He grinned, glancing at the teen's date; he was looking forward to seeing the two of them dance. Both to see Jim's moves and to revel in the awkward teenage dancing that he remembered from his high school days. |

From where he stood, Ulysses turned his attention to the crowd, searching for anyone that he might recognize. There was one person, he noticed pretty quickly - He saw Rose, with a glass in her hand, and she had apparently already noticed them, because she was looking right at Trey! Remembering he had agreed to introduce them this evening, he smiled and waved at the young woman with his free hand, hoping to get her attention. "Miss Rivera, I hope you don't mind, but there is someone I met earlier today, and I promised to introduce my nephew to her." He flashed an apologetic smile at the woman, he hoped he wasn't angering her or anything, and then turned to face forward again. "Miss Thomas!" He called out to her, waving her over, and once she was close enough, he continued, "What a pleasure to see you this evening. I believe I promised an introduction to my nephew," Here Ulysses tapped the boy on the head, who quickly turned around and stared wide-eyed at his Uncle, startled. "Miss Thomas, this is my nephew, Trey." He said, waving one hand toward Trey, who turned to look up at Rose with a shy smile. He had a feeling he would be meeting a lot of people tonight... "Nice to meet you," He said, nodding to the woman he had just been introduced to, but jumping again when he heard a young woman shrieking in the center of the glade, and looked around to see who it was. Ulysses also looked, but, biting back a grin, and after assuring himself that Trey was all right, returned his attention to the two women. "And this is Miss Rivera, whom I have the pleasure of accompanying this evening. I only hope she will put up with me." Ulysses said, looking from Rose to Noemi, and back again, smiling pleasantly the whole while. |

Nyida smiled softly at Hazel, "It's nice to have another girl's company." Not that she wasn't loving her time with Jim alone. Once those nerves got started though, it was nice to have someone else to intrude to relax them. So far Fred was the only intruder, but now Hazel was along. It was nice to say the least. "So, do we know who the King and Queen are? I can't wait to see their dance." Rather can't wait to put these heels on, and get my feet moving to thihs music. Picking up her glass that Fred had gotten her Nyida allowed the water to calm her taste buds, and allow her very dried out mouth, to come back to life. After a few long savourful sips of her limited taste of water, she set the glass down and smiled toward Fred. "Thank you for getting our drinks, Fred." It wasn't but seconds later Nyida's hand flinched from the obnoxious screaming that rung throughout her ears. Her hand smacked into her drink, the water pouring onto the table and starting to fall off it's edge into her lap. Gasping she stood up quickly, and began to mutter under her breath, very unlady like. "Who would ever scream such nonesense unless they were dying?!" Angrily, she reached out setting her glass upright. "If you'll excuse me, I'm going to go find some napkins." She said through gritted teeth. Turning her back, the blonde angrily walked off, still not understanding how someone could be so loud unless someone was out to murder them. Thanks to such a scream, her dress wasn't only partly wet, but she was going to have a cold lap for a while, and let me tell you that water doesn't dry as fast at night. ------ "Abe, I've got a name. Use it." SHaking her head, she sighed "I wouldn't be surprised if you forgot it. How many girls do you meet on a regular basis? Let me refresh the poor memory. Myrta." Looking him in the eyes this time, she spoke very slowly "M-Y-R-T-A." A grin slipped onto her lips, and she felt very accomplished with her little explaination. He wouldn't forget it now, of that she was sure. Her hands were in her lap when a scream emitted throughout the air. It might have been able to break the earth, and split it into two new sections of the world. Two planets instead of one. An entertaining thought to say the least. "What in the world..." Myrta said glancing around until she found the source of the obnoxious screaming earthquake. "I think she is the sugar Abe." Finding no reason to sit forward anymore, Myrta herself seemed to have copied Kent, and leaned back in her chair as well. "Insane town." Myrta laughed. "You fit so perfectly." Almost too perfectly. A glimmer shone in her eyes as she seemed to be stuck on his face. The man could have been dressed as a trash bin, smelled like one too and Myrta would have still found herself googling over him in some odd way. What was it about Abel that had her so wrapped up in him? She didn't get it. It was such a mystery, and she needed to figure it out. No, she wanted to figure this mystery out. |

To be honest, he probably had never run that fast, that far, in his life. Ever. And he was only just realizing this now we he just couldn't catch his breath no matter how hard and furiously his lungs chased it; his head was spinning, he could feel the blood pricking his arms, and by god were those chest pains? It was like he was... he was old. Miserable old, out of shape - and he hadn't even sampled a single pastry he'd prepared for the food table! Maybe he needed to get back into yoga...? "Are you all right?" Still panting, he looked up with surprise to see a little girl standing there, looking over him with concern. Okay, not really little. Well, pretty little. He couldn't decide. His eyes weren't working right yet, all fluttery and watery from the wind blowing in his face the whole way here. Which his hair had to show for, too, being all... charmingly ruffled and windblown as it was. Ha. "Yes... I'm... fine," But urgent matters, urgent matters! He quickly set the important box on the food table for fear of dropping or flinging it somewhere at the last minute, and then turned to the child/girl/woman with a hint of desperation in his voice as he struggled to be as upright and presentable as possible. "Miss, do you... know where... if... a... Ma... Mad..." Oh, nevermind, she probably wouldn't know who Madeline Armstrong was anyway. Especially if she'd already left in a fit of anger. His heart dropped at the thought, and, deciding to postpone the bad news, trailed on to something more pleasantly distracting. "Are you... enjoying... the food?" And he took a gulp of air, hoping he'd be able to form sentences again soon. Gosh that would be useful. |

Rose was slightly startled when Ulyssus called out to her, but walked towards him, smiling. Looking down she saw Trey, and smiled softly. Kneeling down, she held out her hand to him, shaking his hand gently. "It is a pleasure to meet you, Mr. Trey." Just as she was standing, the shriek of a young girl reached her ears; turning she scrunched up her nose at the sound. Who on earth did that sort of thing? And in public. Fixing her face back into a smile, she just caught Ulyssus introducing him to his date. Shaking the woman's hand she said, "Pleasure to meet you Miss Rivera. And I assure you he will be excellent company. He was when we met earlier." Looking at Ulyssus she smiled slightly. Stepping back she looked around the Glade, "It really is a lovely Festival, and I'm sure you will have a good time." Glancing back at Trey, she smiled, and reached into her pocket, pulling out the bright blue seashell she had found earlier. Wiping it off and kneeling, she held out to him. "Here you are, Mr. Trey. I hear these might give a person good luck, and I think you could put it to much better use." She remembered her father giving her a shell similar to the one she now held out when she was younger; though she didn't believe in luck much anymore, the memory was a treasured one. And something about the boy's large, shining eyes urged her to give it to him. Who knew, maybe it really would give him good luck? |

Cringing at the shriek from the middle of the Glade, Fred turned to see who it was; some girl with weird hair. "She looks like a huge puff of cotton candy..." he muttered, turning back to the table. Slightly startled he noticed that Nyida and Jim had disappeared. Well, most of Jim anyways; the top of his head was still visible. Snorting a laugh, Fred lifted up the table cloth and gave Jim a quizzical look as he hunched over to see him. "Uh...Jimbo? I don't think hiding is going to help. She seems the type that can smell fear." |
