He smiled at the girls comment. "Thanks"Liam started to blush. Liam didn't know if he could not flirst with this girl. She was absolutly stunning. Here his name he knew exactly who it was. It was Alana. His brow furror in annoyance. What was she doing here? This had been her idea. Turning to his date he gave an uneasy smile"No, this is my friend Alana." Putting a great deal of weight on the word friend. Turning to Alana he strolled towards her. Facing for a moment to his date he smiled" This will just be a moment." Reaching Alana he was obviously angery."Alana what in the world are you doing here"He said his angery begining to boil. ````````` Why was he being so gentlymenly? He never acted this way around her. Infact he had never shown too much of an interest in the girls at his school. She was jealous. Wanting her Liam back. Alana didn't like to share. Alana looked at the girl. She didn't like her already. The girl was flirting with Liam. Uhg it made her sick. "Hi there"Alana said with a fake smile. When Liam came closer she hugged him. "I just missed you silly. I decided i wanted to go. Whats wrong with that?"speaking in her fake sweet tone. ````` Liam wrenched Alana's hands off of him. "Well you dont need to ruin my date, find someone to hang out with"He turned and walked back to his date. "Sorry about that"smiling he held out his arm for the girl to take. "Shall we?"He hoped his date wouldn't get the wrong idea about Liam and Alana. That was the last thing he needed to happen. Liam felt himself attracted to this girl. Alana was not going to mess it up. |

{chimera's dress} "You're lying," Chimera was aghast, hand clutched tight around the stem of her glass and eyes wide with wonder, literally on the very teetering edge of her seat. "No, I wouldn't!" The middle-aged woman sitting across from her waved it off with her hand, laughing nervously from the intensity of the younger girl's attention, "But that was years ago. It's in the past now. But everytime I bring it up, it does get me a little extra attention..." She cut herself off, mid-giggle, much to Chimera's immediate disappointment, "Oh, there's Jordan now. I shouldn't bother you anymore, Hazel was it? Your date would be here soon, he'll want to meet you. Can't steal the night from the youth, right?" Chimera just laughed, waving her goodbye as the perky woman flounced off to meet her husband, looking years younger than she had when they'd first met and struck up conversation near the food table. She sipped her wine and watched, for a minute or two, as the couple talked, laughed, held hands, trapped in their own little world for one night before they had to return to reality, work, kids. It seemed like the ideal fairy-tale marriage, but after fifteen minutes of explicit secret-gushing, Chimera knew it wasn't even close. But it sure looked pretty from where she sat. Letting that thought linger a second or two, she sighed and moved to stand, already bored with frivolous ideas of love and fairy tales and marriage. That wasn't what she'd come here for tonight. Maybe, she knew, some women had; and, fair game, there were plenty of girls in the world who would know all happiness if they could just land someone handsome or rich, or both. To Chimera, though, it didn't make too much of a difference. The seesaw could tilt either way and she'd find way to make due. But tonight wasn't about that. More or less, she'd signed up and gotten all dressed up just to meet someone new. Expand her horizons a bit. Talk to someone who didn't frequent the streets of Pyrite Circle like she did, or someone who wouldn't have been easy to approach or find any other day. Sure, this boy - Naoji Tanaka - was supposed to be her 'date', but she could care less if they danced or blushed or clicked at all. She just wanted a good story out of it, was all. Wandering across the dancefloor, where matched up couples were already meeting and hitting it off, she couldn't help but notice how elegant everyone else seemed in comparison to her. All she'd been able to find in her mess of a wardrobe was the purple cocktail dress she wore, and some plain black shoes with a tiny heel for oomph. She'd been quite proud of her get-up back at home, especially her hair - which she'd spent hours this morning intricately braiding back, though her lack of cosmetological skills were evident on a closer look - but now her lack of a flowing ballgown kind of made her stand out. Maybe not in a good way. Chimera decided not to let it bother her, and settled to wait by one of the gargantuan crystal flowers to enjoy the last of the wine until her date showed. Impatiently, she used her free hand to adjust the oversized purple daisy most of her hair was tucked behind, angled to the side at the back of her head. It was the 'landmark' she'd mentioned in a short n' sweet letter to Naoji Tanaka, a way for him to find her among all the other single ladies. But now that she had no one to talk to, it was beginning to irritate her... |

[ Myrta's Dress ] [ Myrta's Shoes ] Myrta wasn't exactly out to look for this date of her's. If he showed up, and seemed lonely, he'd ask around. Until then, she found it best to show early and situate herself seeing as she was new to the town. Mikhail had disappeared, and Abel was the only other person she knew. It was time to socialize. Strutting herself in with a purple dress, purple heels and her brown hair with a red tint done in cutsie curls, she glanced around wondering who she could bug. Who looked like someone she could get along with? Two teens? Definitely not. There had seemed to be some people outside the entrance, they were occupied. Grunting her arms folded across her chest, "Looks like I'm alone for the time being." It was then that a pair of arms wrapped around her waist and whispered words fell onto her ear. Instantly she recognized the voice. "Why Abel, I should have been expecting you." Leaning back against him she grinned, and turned her head "Figures you wouldn't dress formally. Got your two best friends with you as well I take it?" Unfolding the arms Myrta placed them on Kent's and she released herself from his grasp. Facing the man she pointed a finger at him. "Aren't you supposed to come here with your date? For being a flirty man, you surely don't got the basics down." |

After parting from Clint's company, Kayla had spent the next hour wandering around the forest - not because she was lost, but because she was early. And wondering if she should even show up at the glade, because she would rather be back at the ranch right now, helping her mother with her brother. But, alas, Ida Mae had twisted her daughter's arm, and seeing as how there wasn't much to do anyway - Wyatt had fallen asleep some time ago, which might have been due to Ida putting something in his drink, but one couldn't be completely sure - Kayla finally put a dress on, put her hair up, and headed out. Clint had offered to take her as far as the forest, at least, as he was going to meet his date at the Inn first. Kayla had been thankful for that, but that had been over an hour ago, now. Sighing, she decided at last she should at least show up, in case Clint noticed her missing and got worried...though she doubted that he would. He wasn't exactly the type to 'worry.' Shaking the thought from her head, she started heading in the direction of the glade, and about ten minutes later was walking up the dirt pathway. She smiled at the Chinese lanterns, they gave off to the area quite the pretty effect. She looked up and paused momentarily. She had been to the glade many times, but with all the tables and things set up towards the center, it was almost as if it were a different place. Tilting her head and sighing lightly, she headed over to a tree away from the path, but along the outskirts of the glade. Leaning up against it, she watched the goings-on. There were a number of people her already, but none she recognized...shaking her head slowly and low, she considered how she really needed to get out more. [Kayla's dress.] |

"There is no need of thanks for the mere truth, Liam." Lia gave a soft smile, and nodded her head. "Take your time, I'll wait here." He may have said it'd take just a moment; however, Lia had long learned moments sometime took a bit longer. As the two spoke Lia felt awkward just watching, but what else was she to do? Chew on grass and dance around to the music she didn't hear? That'd be silly! So, she kept her stare and watched the two's actions. Now Lia was confused. Hugs. Pushing away. The woman had said hello to her with a smile, and Lia reutrned the smile along with a wave of her hand. Liam was on his way back and offering his arm up. "Is everything okay?" Her eyes darted back to the lady as both of her hands gently fell onto his arm. "If there is something wrong and you need to go, I will understand. Don't ignore something important for a dance." Lia was a worry wort when it came to peopels feelings, and she was worried something very big was going on. Nevertheless, deep down she did want Liam to stay and spend this night with her, getto know the man. Whatever was most important though, should, and would come first. Or so she hoped. |

"Actually Abel, you kind of are a babysitter. Gotta keep this little village in line. The Police babysit. Put the facts together, and accept it." Myrta's grin slid across her lips. Kent had some ability to make her grin quite a lot. Or maybe it was herself that caused it? No, she would stick with that it was him. Since the day they met in the Café. He was a handful, and a fun one at that. "Now Abel," she began, "if any fun is going to be had it'll be you dancing with me once tonight. Anyways, I've been meaning to talk with you about something." Lacking music, Myrta wouldn't care. She'd dance with the man to the music inside her head, and have a nice conversation. Only, it wasn't quite time for that. There was a wait to dance, and a shame it was. The woman's hands placed on his shoulders, and she grinned up at him. "Honestly Abel, do you think pulling me closer to you when I pull away is going to accomplish something tonight? Try it later once the dancing starts. Let's get us a table, and a conversation." Her hands pushed at his shoulders, pulling herself away from him. "You can have me that close with the dance you owe me." Yes, she had just decided he owed her a dance. Her back would turn to him, and she would walk to the closest table pulling two chairs out. "Are you coming? Or shall we stand around like chickens waiting to get their heads cut off?" |

He felt disappointed that he couldn't run his hands down her slender frame, but he figured that could be saved for later. Something to look forward to. Grinning from ear to ear, Kent followed Myrta and took a seat in one of the chairs she'd pulled out for them.

"Yeah yeah, Lady. Man, you talk a lot you know." Stretching his arms into the air, he leaned back in the chair and stared up at the night sky. One hot chick so far; he'd seen a few others around, but they were with other guys. Myrta had been the only one alone. Not that Kent cared about a third wheel, but he needed to pick and choose who he wanted to approach. He guessed he could do that while seated here. He smiled at Lia. "Don't worry about it. Alana is just being ridiculous. She isn't used to us being apart. We are very close friends." Liam tried to explain the best that he could. Leading her into the dance "here we go." Hoping that Alana would not be a bother the whole night. Perhaps if she began to bother the two they would have to skip out and go somewhere else. The festival was beautiful. Laterns were lit and people were abuzz. Everyone looked stunning. There were fire flys everywhere. "Wow" was all that Liam could manage to mutter. ``` Alana was left standing there. All alone. Her anger full flame. HOW DARE HE DO THIS TOO HER!On a normal basis Liam would have been right by her side. What was wrong with him? Waiting for a few moments she then followed the two into the festival. He was holding on to the girl. Jealously flared. What was wrong with her? Liam was her friend. NOthing more. it had been this way for as long as she could remember. |

Nyida glanced at Jim and shook her head. "No, I'm okay. I think I'll eat after I dance so I don't have any regurgitation happening." She smiled nervously at the thought, and figured that wasn't really the most lady like thing to say. A small blush hit her face, and she turned her head away pretending to be interested in other people that were arriving. "If you're hungry you can go eat Jim. I don't mind." Looking at the table Nyida let her fingers trace across the surface. Everything was done so very well, and it looked so gorgeous. She could hardly believe that this palce was real. She was actually here, and that she didn't want to come just the other day. She'd never understood what she missed. Never. "Anyone else here you know Jim?" Her eyes finally met his with a questioning look. "I want you to know this might be our date, nevertheless I have no problems with you talking to people you know." Laughing softly she leaned back a bit "Just don't disappear without a word, and I won't either." |

She rocked back and forth on her feet as she waited, trying not to get too worked up about this. She'd been on blind dates before, wasn't this the same thing? And she'd been stood up once, or twice... and moved past it without much hurt or regret. Why was this bothering her so much now? Chimera considered. No, it had to be that middle-aged couple... somehow she'd regarded that partnership too fondly, and now that feminine, motherly part of her was yearning for something, just a tiny bit. She scoffed, embarassed by herself. Hadn't she already decided she would handle this with dignity, no matter the outcome? "Hey there, you look lonely. How 'bout I keep you company for a bit?" And she thought she was underdressed. Dropping her hand from that flower and looking over, she caught sight of who was addressing her - a tall, white haired, borderline-intimidating looking man. Who had apparently ditched the idea of a tuxedo for no shirt and a jacket...? "Hi," Despite the wine, her mouth was weirdly dry. She opted for another sip, hoping she hadn't frazzled her nerves with all this stressing. Puzzled, she looked back to the stranger - he wouldn't be...? "Are you Naoji?" Maybe she looked a bit too much like a deer in the headlights at that moment for her own liking. But with her head tangled somewhere else, Chimera had been caught off guard - for once. |

"Pretty nice setup they have huh? I didn't expect them to go all out on this." He paused, remembering that the chick had been eying his attire. Oh, so she was checking him out already? There was a small nod, and she decided it best she try to forget about the girl. Not entirely forget, but forget that this girl was being ridiculous because she was away from Liam. Lia wasn't even that bad when she was away from her twin, Taryn, for over a year. In the long run it was good for difference in people, because as it was well known, if we were all the same it'd be so boring. Or hard to deal with everyone. "Agreed." Lia muttered as her eyes observed the wonderful scenery. It really was breathe taking. With someone of her history you'd think it'd be hard to impress her of such things, and here she was speechless to have anywords to utter of the hard work put into the place. "It's too gorgeous." She whispered more to herself than anything. |

Fred sauntered into the Glade, looking around for his date, who of course he had no idea what she looked like. But he hoped that she would recognize him or something because of his eye. Glancing down at himself, he straightened his shirt. He had noticed it was a formal occasion when he had gotten there earlier, and had to dash to the store to buy stuff; a dark red button up, black slacks, and new black shoes. He thought he looked alright, and had even fixed his hair into a tight ponytail. Scratching his scar, he let his eye drift around the glade; maybe Jim was there and he could hang with him until his date showed up. ~*~ "I...I think I'm going to pass out." "No you're not Preston, take deep breaths." "I don't see why he has to do this; the girl can find another date I'm sure." "No Blaze, he signed up and so he has to do it. Besides, it seems like they're low on men so it's good he signed up." "S-seriously...I feel like I'm going to faint..." The triplets all stood off to the side, Preston standing in the middle looking like a deer in the headlights with his sisters on either side, pampering him. For the occasion, Preston wore a plae blue shirt with a dark blue tuxedo with a matching tie. Melody had opted for a sleeveless dark blue dress that reached her knees that glittered slightly and cute mary janes for shoes. Of course Blaze wasn't much one for Festivals, so she had just thrown on a black dress, reaching just above her knees, with tight long sleeves and black boots and a blue belt around her middle. Blaze scanned the crowd listlessly; she couldn't beleieve her brother had a date with one of these women...it was ridiculous. Melody however thought the whole thing rather romantic, though she worried that Preston might actually faint. And of course Preston was too petrified to think about much. ~*~ In clipped steps Rose entered the Glade, eyes instantly scanning the room; she was wearing her black sleveless turtleneck and black pants and boots, her hair in her usual braided bun. Having not signed up for the ridiculous dating thing, she hoped to find Ulyssus or someone else she had met amongst the crowd. After all if she was going to be compelled to stay for more than five minutes, someone would have to be there to interest her. |

He hesitated for a second and then, skittering over to where Nyida was, leaned in and pecked her on the cheek. Flushed a tad, he made his way over to where Fredrick was. "Hey, Fred!"
