He would have made a good puppet; as he blindly stumbled after the girl, you could almost see the strings pulling him along, and that all too evident cluelessness in his eyes that alluded to something like: the lights are on but nobody's home. His head was, as it was 87% of the time, as good as a block of wood. Unfortunately for Madeline.

But she sounded quite frightened, and it was beginning to have the same effect on Blaise. Someone was chasing after them, he concluded. Her. A little shiver clambered up his spine, and he didn't dare to look over his shoulder; what horrors could possibly be on the rear? Dare he imagine?

Before vivid images of axe-murderers and stealthy assasins could come to mind, he successfully (kind of) resisted; after all, his common sense (unusually not mute for once) reasoned, this was clearly not the time to be overreacting about little things. Madeline needed a man. A hero. And by the Goddess, he made her wait up nearly all night for him, all alone and worried, the least he could do was alleviate her probably irrational fear with his infectious confidence and bravery!

Good plan. But he still wasn't gonna look back.

"R...right! Of course!" Trying to muster up his least pathetic sounding voice, Blaise took a manly strong bound over the bushes after his Damsel on Distress, and didn't get much further before his foot caught on god-knows-what and sent him flat on his poor, poor face.

Well, if you didn't see that one coming...

The instance he set foot into the festival, his soul fluttered away. He glanced around oddly. For him, it was like being the ugly duckling in a group of beautiful ducks. Cloud couldn't grasp pure reality to know what he had gotten himself into. His job was to scavenging for a girl named Min he something. Her name did give him a bit of a headache. He wasn't interested in sticking around. Cloud set his goals like always. Meet the girl, get the hell out of here, and find somewhere quiet where they can talk. He shook his head and held his hand onto his warm forehead. His cheeks began to convert to a cherry red shade. The weak point he had against girls is when he is alone with them. Most of the time, he never realizes it until he already notices it. By the time he does though, Cloud already began to talk. This though, was different. He acknowledges the fact that this is a blind date and this is with a girl (Oh it'd be wrong if it was a guy).

A steady posture held Cloud on his ground. He was stiff. The clothes he wore were nicer than most. A lavish new hoodie, with a hint of red and black. His pants were a mixture of red and black as well while his shoes just remained black. Cloud's hair was straightened again, but this time, his hair flopped over his eye. Naive as he is, the hair style always had an effect on him. It made him feel invisible, like none of the villagers can see him. He liked that feeling, craving for it.

"Min Hee Ko... Min Hee Ko..." He kept mumbling the name over and over again as he glanced around again. Suddenly, a burst of noise reached him. His eyes went up as he realized someone was calling his name. The voice faded into the crowd, but Cloud was determined to find the voice. He dived in head first into the crowd and weaved his way through. It was clearly impossible to find the voice now. It was gone and now he was lost. Cloud shoved some people before he came to a clearing. A few people mingled here and there. He sighed with a breath of relief and walked fowards. For now, he sat down and looked into the crowd. Impossible, it surely was.

He gave a faint smile at the recognition. Was it possibly because he'd been greeted so eagerly? It did feel good, though, and he responded with a not before jotting down more words onto his notebook. So, this was her. His date. This girl was Chimera Hazeld, the girl he'd been set up to go on a date with. This was a huge relief. He didn't have to wander around looking for her, nor did it seem that he had to worry about having offended her. Her delight was quick to catch onto him, but in a barely visible way. But! Even barely visible made for a huge impact for this boy.

He leaned in closer to get a better view of her face. In one moment it was like a snapshot and he was sure he wouldn't confuse her for another face ever. He added her name as the title in the memory he had and tilted his head slightly, getting a different angle in the lighting as she read. He would have to draw her portrait, sometime... Just in case something happened where he did forget. He often drew people's portraits despite his photographic memory. You know, just in case he hit his head too hard or something. Just a precaution...

Fred glanced over at Hazel, 'She seems happy...that must be her date.' In truth he was a bit disappointed; he had been having a good time with her. 'Ah well, at least she's going to have a real dance partner now. ' Shrugging he turned his attention back to his drunk friend. Raising an eye brow he chuckled. "Alright, alright ya drunk. Let's see if you can make it to the dance floor first."

The glade was definitely spinning. And if it wasn’t, then the dancing couples were somehow gliding in midair. Mu blinked and shook his head, the ground slowly returning to where it was supposed to be- under his feet.

“Are you okay? You look dizzy… Do you need something to drink?” Odetta asked, steadying him with her hands to his chest. The young man stopped to stare at her for a moment, his eyes unblinking. She was… concerned? For him? That meant she was the good kind of witch, right? She seemed nice enough.

When he finally broke his even stare, Mu nodded slowly. Something to drink was always good. Water… They had water here, right? Yes, hydration was important. Water, water, water…

He raised a hand to hold the side of his head, turning to gaze off into the distance, a bit dazed. Spotting the drinks table, he took a step toward it but paused, turning back to look at Odetta. She was like a magnet he could not pull away from, and after standing in place for a few seconds, he took a step back toward her again.

Water. Right. That could wait, couldn’t it?

"I'll...be fine." Jim groaned a tad, but managed another goofy smile as he glanced up at Fredrick. Sipping on the water he'd been handed, the teen eventually downed the entire glass. He was appreciating another beverage besides alcohol. It evened out the bitter taste of the puke in his mouth. Sort of. Grunting, he stood and stumbled but grabbed onto Fred for support. Hiccuping, he leaned against the older male. "You smell nice." Wait, what? Jim grinned.

"Are you...wearing cologne?" He mumbled, glancing up into Fred's one good eye. "Or is my nose getting fucked up too?" At this, he let out a weird giggle. It reminded him of Kochi a bit. How odd. Jim cringed inwardly at the thought and groaned outwardly. That feeling of wanting to be sick returned. Oh why did he have to get drunk before dancing with Fredrick!? This sucked. I dunno..if I can make it. But I wanna dance with him.. Stupid alcohol! I'm NEVER drinking again!!

He went down, face first, before she even got everything out. It was quite startling, actually, standing there and staring down at her perfect date lying flat on the ground with half of his leg being eaten by the bushes she had so easily maneuvered through. Acting on instinct, although admittedly a little delayed, Madeline quickly ducked down to hide herself behind the medium sized bushes, hoping that her father wouldn’t catch sight of them as she tried to help Blaise up and got them moving once more.

Still, concern came before fear. Reaching out, she touched his arm hesitantly and asked in a hushed whisper, “Are you all right?”

Min Hee raised her eyebrows at the sight of Nyida’s flushed face then giggled quietly to herself. Oh, this little crush she was observing was so entertaining! She herself had been unable to win Jim over, but perhaps she could still have her fun through observing this girl. She’d need to keep tabs on this one.

As Nyida walked away, Min Hee waved with a bright smile before turning to face the crowds. Just where was this Cloud Shiwaru? Didn’t he know how bored she was getting? Didn’t he care that if he didn’t show up, the world wouldn’t be able to give her the apology she so deserved for all the silly trouble it had put her through the past few days? For a moment, the girl pouted quietly, but quickly regained her composure and plastered on a cheerful face. Now this wouldn’t do. She was determined to make this festival a good one.

Skipping off to the center of the glade for one more attempt to call upon her date, Min Hee raised her hands and cupped them around her mouth like a megaphone.

“Cloud Shiwaruuuu~! Mini Min Hee really wants to meet yooouuuu~!”

His eyebrows raised. The voice called for him This time, it appeared to be quite closer. He stood up fairly quickly and moved around. All he could see was a few people with their dates, but nothing that he could pin the voice on. Cloud circled around the crowd. His hands were shoved in his pocket as he slouched the second time around. Suddenly, a hint of abnormal sparkled in his eye. A girl had her hands cupped and looked like she was about to put her hand down. Could it be her? This was a hunch, but Cloud had a feeling this was her, Min Hee Ko.

Cloud took a rather deep breath and closed his eyes. First impressions were everything in the world of social activities. One wrong move and he could be the village creep. He certainly didn't mind being the anti-social nobody.

He glanced at her and smiled shyly. This was more than a stupid blind date for him. It had a greater importance for Cloud. He always disliked people having a negatitve thought about him, especially when he is certain you do. His hands tightened just thinking about it. Cloud straightened up and brushed the debris of grass on his pants. He looked straight at the girl and walked forwards. The closer he got, the more anxious and nervous he felt.

""Min Hee... Ko?". He cocked his head to the right. The girl looked younger than him, but she was beautiful. A small speck of red showed from his cheeks, but disappeared as soon as he looked away. Staring at her would give her some awful thoughts about him and that just wouldn't do.

Min Hee had begun to turn to leave, likely to hunt down anyone who appeared to be alone regardless if they were indeed “Cloud Shiwaru” or not, but as she did, a young man approached her. “Min Hee… Ko?” he spoke, looking at her with his head tilted. The girl spun around, cotton candy curls swirling around her as she did. A large grin spread across her face.

Aha! So the world really hadn’t turned on her! Of course not, how could it? She was far too amazing and wonderful to be treated that way! This… Yes, there was no doubt about it! This man here, if he was indeed Cloud, would set everything right again. The universe was not crashing down. She was still in control.

“Oh yes, that’s me~” Min Hee answered in a sugarcoated voice, smiling up at him in the sweetest manner she could muster. For a moment, she met his eyes, but he glanced away. Was something wrong? No, it couldn‘t be. Nothing could go wrong now. He was just shy, right?

While the stranger’s head was turned, Min Hee took a moment to note his features. Hm. Well his hair was kind of nice… And those eyes! She had seen them for only a brief instant before he had turned his face, but their mixture of blue shades was striking. Within seconds she had made her decision. Whether this was Cloud or not (Though the latter was unlikely since he knew her full name), she wanted him.

“So you must be Cloud Shiwaru~” she said happily, clapping her hands together. “Aw, aren’t you cute? I must be really lucky today~”

Ah, concern. It had always been something she could fake so well, and it appeared to be working on this young man as well. She had a certain charm, a je ne sai quoi about her, and perhaps all of those years of reading people, studying people, being so intimate with people had paid off. Well, of course it had at the time, you know, but now it seemed to be doubling the pay. Ah, she would have smirked right then and there had she not wanted to break her cover.

Instead, the blonde settled for tilting her head curiously, her eyes lighting up with concern for the man before her. He hadn't answered her question, hadn't said anything in reply to her, really. In fact, he just kind of stood there... idly. Of course, there had been that nod, but what the hell had that even meant, anyway? Yes I'd like a drink? Yes, I'm okay? Yes, I'd like to give you free will? Ah, whatever. She'd figured it out eventually.

And low and behold, he glanced over at the drink table just in time, as if asking her permission to go. She blinked before he tried to take off, taking a step in the right direction, though he certainly didn't get too far. Within seconds he was back at her side, and this time she couldn't hold back the smirk that formed on her face.

"Here, I'll guide you there. You must be so weak." Odetta smiled sweetly at him before placing one of her hands against his back, waiting for him to make the first move. She'd have him eating out of her hand in no time.

Everything felt… dreamlike. With Odetta guiding him, Mu stumbled his way toward the drinks table, ever aware of her hand on his back. He managed to reach his destination with little trouble, reaching for the water pitcher beside another couple. However, at the sound of a delighted squeal, he flinched, sloshing the water and nearly splashing himself.

His head swiveled to face the source of the cry, and he eyed the strange woman as her date held up a notebook. She was rather pretty as well. He stared at her blankly for a few seconds then, remembering what he had come for, quickly turned his attention back to the water pitcher and hastily poured himself a cup.

A hint of mild irritation could be seen in his blank expression. His mouth remained closed while his eyebrow was raised up. This girl had some way of talking. Well, most girls hes met seemed to do the same thing. They would compliment him about something and then he had to play their little game of 'no, you are'. That wouldn't happen this time, He would not let it happen. Too many games in one season is overwhelming, and if you're an anti-social, its like driving a needle where your heart should be. Cloud smiled and began to form something positive to think about. He brushed his hair out of his face and decided to look on the bright side, hes found Min Hee Ko. Plus, she was rather cute, but he wouldn't let himself think about that. Too many girls on the island are rather cute, sometimes making him wonder if this island if filled with amazingly cute girls.

"Your pretty... Pretty yourself" Another blank expression touched his face. The thing he dreaded the most was beginning to start its little dance. Cloud usually found himself playing these kinds of games, and it irks him."Would you like to, do something, or something?". He shrugged and stared at her. She really did sparkle. Her hair was truly vibrant and her personality shined. Cloud knew that, in fact, he hated that. That sense of happiness just burst from her. Why is he trying so hard to hold back?

He scratched his head and forgot his thought. Cloud then tried to just enjoy himself. Today was suppose to be a good day to meet some people the old-fashioned way.

"I must be pretty lucky for you to be my date...". The games have started once again. Poor Cloud.

Oh, it was absolutely wonderful! Min Hee giggled delightedly, pleased with the compliments she had received. Finally a guy with some sense around here! Finally someone who would recognize her as the fabulous star she was! Nothing would take this chance from her! Not now after she had endured all that undeserved trouble!

“Thank you very much~” she said with a smile. Of course you’re lucky. I’m glad someone finally understands that! Jim could learn something here… At the thought of the boy, Min Hee’s eyes darted to the side to where he now stood with another man. Huh. He didn’t look too good. Hadn’t she just been talking to him a few minutes ago? What had happened since then?

She quickly brushed the thought away. Right now, Jim was of no concern to her. Cloud Shiwaru, at that moment, was by far the more interesting matter at hand.

“I’m up for anything you want to do~ I’m just so happy you showed up!”

  • Phoebe grinned at Ulysses. "I'd like that very much. Perhaps you can find me again if I set my stall up at the bazaar?" In all truths, Phoebe wasn't sure if she'd like teaching this man how to dance the Viennese waltz or not. She wasn't exactly great at teaching anything, and her real annoyance might shine through Noemi's quiet exterior if the man made too many mistakes. Still, she knew she'd enjoy seeing more of the little youngster. It seemed hard to talk to children when their parents didn't know you.

She shook her head, smiling once more. "Please, don't feel that way. I'm surprised you know any form of classical dance at all. Most people these days just seem to be interested in throwing their bodies around on each other like animals in heat." She sighed, almost dramatically, though she composed her lips into a small grin once more as they twirled around. She kept her head tilted down, though she peeked up at Ulysses from beneath her lashes. Forcing yet another blush, she murmured, "And you dance beautifully, as well." Phoebe had to admit, he did dance better than some men she had met. But he still wasn't the best. She recalled her dancing teacher, a tall blonde man who's large hand had enveloped hers easily. She smiled somewhat dreamily at the memory, and her blush turned genuine.
