"So A-ABE!!!!!!!!" When Myrta shrieked, Kent let out a laugh. He grinned, shaking his head a tad. Once they reached the floor, he set her down. "I'd like some warning next time!" "Yeah, yeah. Just shut your mouth and dance, Lady." Gripping one of her hands, Kent placed a hand on Myrta's waist and began to dance with her. This was odd to him, especially since he'd never formally danced at a festival before. But, while he was swaying with Myrta, it felt like it didn't matter. He was having fun.

When they reached the table, Trey lifted himself onto his tippy toes to get a better view of all the goodies. He couldn't wipe the grin off his face as all the delectable scents wafted into his nose, but his grin widened upon spotting the sugar cookies, just after Rose had. He rocked back onto his heels and looked up at the woman when she asked how many he wanted. He thought for a moment, then smiled up at her as he responded,

"Well, I can stuff three in my mouth at once, so...however many you can grab!" He declared, though he knew his Uncle would be none too pleased with him if he ate too many. However, for the mean time, what his Uncle didn't know wouldn't hurt him, right? Just the same, he glanced over to his Uncle's location, looking as if he were about to be caught doing something bad, but when he realized his Uncle wasn't looking at him at all, and was instead bowing towards Noemi, he turned back to Rose, bright smile once more in place.

"Yeah, yeah. Just shut your mouth and dance, Lady." Myrta sighed happily, and shook her head softly. What a typical response. She thought. "People talk during dances. Haven't done this much, have you?" Myrta's free hand would have come up to his shoulder, it was just the height difference that made it difficult. Instead, her hand rested down at his waist as well. It might have been a bit odd looking, but she couldn't fix his or her height at the moment.

The woman glanced around the dance floor noticing just how popular it had become, her eyes watching Fred spin Hazel, and she grinned. It looked like fun. Then the teens. They sure knew how to dance well for their age. She remembered breaking toes just a few years ago...Wonder how hard they practiced. Or if they're naturals. Hm... of course there was a few other couples around, and Myrta's mind caught the best of her as in wondering if they actually came as a couple, or a blind date couple...how many took up this blind date? Her's had yet to even show. His loss. Least I'll have gotten a dance in if anything.

Returning her gaze back up to Kent, her grin would continue to flash as her hand in his twitched. Why? The reason was unknown even to Myrta. It was just so, and she couldn't stop it from twitching two more times in a row. "Heh." Pulling her hand quickly from Kent's, she shook it, and as fast as she had removed her hand, it fell back into his. "There we go." Hoping a good shake would fix it all she allowed her hand to close a little bit tighter over his. There would be no reason to pull it back so quickly now.

Or so she Assumed.

Forgetting there were others around, Rose laughed in good humor. "We'll start with six, how about that? And we'll work our way up from there." As she pilled the cookies on she noticed that Trey looked back at his uncle. Obviously multiple sugar cookies weren't apart of his usual diet. As she finished putting the cookies on, she handed him the plate with smile. "Your cookie escapades will be our little secret alright?" Besides, every kid should be allowed a plate full of desserts to eat until they fell over at least once in their life. "I'm going to get me some chocolate cake and we'll find a place to sit down." Picking up another plate she cut herself a piece of cake; it had been quite awhile since she had indulged like this and the prospect of eating it cheered her up considerably.

"Sad news is, you might find I'm stepping on yours." At this Jim let out a tiny laugh and shook his head. "Thanks for the warning." He joked while winking. That was when he noticed, out of the corner of his eyes, that Fred had just whisked his partner into the air. Jim grinned. Two could play at that game! And besides, it'd been a move he had been wanting to try out anyway. Gingerly gripping Nyida's hand, Jim spun her away from him and held her there for a few seconds.

He carefully spun her back to him, moved his hand away from hers and gently grabbed her hips. Jim then hoisted her up into the air like Fred had and then set her down on the ground, dipping her as he did. He couldn't help but smile; grateful and glad that he hadn't accidentally dropped her in the process. That definitely would have been bad. Slightly amusing to think about, but horrifying if it had actually happened. Clearing his throat, Jim realized he was still dipping Nyida and staring into her eyes.

Flushing, he pulled her back up and resumed dancing.

The silence was probably the worst kind of punishment at this moment. And it was horribly awkward, what with his staring at the ground and holding out this box of chocolates like it was an offering to some vengeful god. In fact, that was really what he was expecting here - a vengeful woman. Er, girl. He half expected her to fling the box away, scream, slap him, maybe stamp on his foot, if she was too nice to beat him to a bloody pulp. Because he probably would have taken it without complaint, knowing in all actuality it was what he deserved.

He didn't, however, expect to look up and see her standing there with tears in her eyes.

Okay. That was the worst punishment.

"No!" He seemed horrified at the very notion. And about ready to go on yet another nonsensical tangent. "I would never-"

Blaise was stupid with lots of things, but he was especially stupid when it came to crying girls. All sense flew out the window, and, had he not used up most of his energy reserve just getting here, he would probably have been flailing around like a headless chicken by this point. Fortunately, his body rejected any impulses for this, and he stayed right where he was, an explosive war going on inside his head.

Stop the girl from crying. He didn't know what he would do if she completely broke down then and there. It would have been a complete disaster, or more of one than he was already faced with. He had to stop the girl from crying.

How? How was he supposed to prove he had actually been building himself up all week for this event, and missed it because of an oven related slip up? How could he redeem himself from the sodden and disgraceful position he'd tripped himself into?

Oh. Remembering suddenly, his free hand snapped up, slipping into his apron pocket where several pieces of folded-folded-folded paper were stashed. He'd kept them on him all day. Shaking them out now, he showed her the writing, the pretty stationary - her letters. The few that there were, and as brief as they were, were there.

"I'm a chef," He started, words coming out lightning fast because good god who knows how long he had until she started bawling, "I work at the Estate. I cook there. It's my job to make food. All this food. I've been up since five this morning, making food. Pastries and cookies and hor'devours, hot and cold food. I made these, too," He nudged the box of chocolates toward her again, hands shaking, "I'm not very good at cooking, I'm terrible actually, but I thought I should bring something for you, because I wanted to meet you, and since cooking is what I do I thought I should make something so I decided on chocolates because that seems to be something a date should bring to something like this, but I've only made chocolates once or twice before as practice so today I started making them but I was getting stuck so I had to bring your letters out because if I at least know who I'm cooking for, it makes it easier to actually make it any good.

"And I really wanted you to like them, so I had to keep reading your letters and that's why they're all crumpled up like this, because if I read your words they made me understand better what kind of a person you are even if I'd never met you so that's why thesechocolatesareforyou."

Well thank you so much for the life story Blaise. Inhaling (was he going a bit blue in the face?), he slowly lowered the letters but kept the box held out, a bit stronger and more assured this time. Even if he still felt this was incredibly nerve wracking for something as simple as a gift giving.

"...I don't, ah, think you'll believe me if I tell you why I'm so late," he continued after a brief pause, eyes falling away, "A-and I'm not asking you to forgive me either, I just... these were made for you, Miss Madeline, they're yours."

((xDDD MY GOD HE NEVER SHUTS UP.))

"Cookie-what? Es-key-pades...what's that?" He asked, having heard the word before but not sure what it meant. Though he figured it wasn't bad, though, because she was still smiling. With a smile of his own, he gratefully accepted hte plate, and went ahead and popped a cookie in his mouth.

Mmm...it tasted good. Smiling blissfully, he briefly closed his eyes, his smile nearly spanning his entire face. Realizing he was still in someone's presence, however, he quickly swallowed and opened his eyes, looking up at Rose and wondering if she had even noticed. He took another, much smaller bite of the cookie in his hand, as he waited for her get her piece of cake. The cake sure looked good, too...

It was nice getting to spend this time with Jim. Nyida would admit that later if she felt the need to at the end of the day. Although she was sure it was self explainatory the two were enjoying themselves, and easily seen. The dance so smooth, so original and fun. Who knew repeating the same steps could bring such a wonderful feeling, and make a great night? She decided she could live with these steps for the rest of the night. Be the last one dancing if that's what it took.

Hm wonder how Fred's doing...are we better than the ole man? One eyebrow raised, and her head turned finding the guy. Her eyes stared, they seemed to be doing the samething Jim and herself where. Guess it's going to end as a ti- "Eeeek!!" Nyida was barley ready to be spun out. Her dress lifting at the end and wrapping around her legs until Jim pulled her back. Her eyes were wide, her heart pumping like someone desperately trying to unclog a toilet, her breath picking up and then Jim as if all planned dipped her.

Nyida's lips parted in a short gasp, her eyes caught directly in Jim's. The boy had style, she just never imagined anything like what she'd just been apart of. I'm never going to forget this night. Satasfied, she slowly came out of the shock, quite pleased that she had somehow not fallen flat on her face in the heels, and was back to the normal steps. "Let's see Fred do better than that." She smiled the largest she probably ever had, and was ready for this face off.

Even if she broke an ankel doing it.

As soon as the announcement was made, Chou was amazed to watch as many couples of the night began to all come out to the dance floor and follow in the footsteps of the Goddess and King. Mesmerized, she watched from one couple to the next, feeling her cheeks rise in color at the thought of actually spending the night dancing the night away in a man’s arms. Actually, it was somewhat shocking, and the thought made her rather nervous than flustered with a butterfly stomach.

Though that was hardly odd, for she was not well acquaintance with anything to do with the other gender. Truthfully, she had never had a boyfriend before, had never been kissed, had never held hands, and had, all around, never had a crush on anyone before. She really didn’t even know where she was supposed to start with that, but usually never thought over it, and thus did not bother with it at all. She was rather happy with the way she was now, and that’s what truly mattered to her.

“Oh, you two must want to join them,” The dark haired woman remarked, immediately moving out of the way to allow them to pass. Before Chou could summon up a reply to that rather unexpected remark, the woman thanked her for the drink and then scurried her way over to a nearby table.

Chou couldn’t help herself, and glanced back at Yasumi. One look was all she needed, of course, to be firmly put in her place as all or any hopes of whatever thought had been forming in her mind was firmly put out. The glare he sent her was as chilling as the one he’d given her when they had first arrived. Glacier cold, and as unmovable as stone.

“You could try to look a little happier,” She pressed on regardless, finding herself somewhat angry with him since he hadn’t muttered a word since their arrival and hadn’t lightened that deadly glare even an inch. He looked like a mountain lion with its hair on end, ready to attack anyone who dared provoked him the wrong way.

He didn’t respond. But, then again, he never did.

Chou sighed, feeling defeated, and finally left his side to go seek out Kayla. Since she didn’t know anyone else here, and the woman had seemed fairly nice, she wanted to at least try and chat instead of standing with a block of ice. Walking up to the table Kayla had retreated to, Chou took a seat opposite of her. “We’re not…um… we don’t like one another like that,” She explained, feeling a little embarrassed. “Actually,” she admitted, frowning. “We don’t really get along all that well…”

Yasumi was left at the food table, and he picked up another glass of wine, downing it in one go.

She was not a dancer, it would have been folly to call her one. But for what she lacked in grace, she certainly made up with a sort of flare... a radiating confidence, even if she was moving out of tune or out of line. Well, call it freestyle then. Chimera would never have been able to sit through a structured dance class if her life depended on it, anyway.

She raised an inquisitive eyebrow when Fred told her to hold on, but did as demanded - hardly expecting what he was about to do. Something like a squeak fell from her lips when he hoisted her up suddenly into the air, a whisk and a whirl, catching her off guard for every sense she so possessed. It was dizzying, exhilirating, a rush she could only associate with roller coasters, bungee jumping, falling in love for the first time. And it was all over way too soon, her feet on solid ground, moving to what now was clearly tame music, even with her head still rolling dizzy across turntables.

Chimera looked at him, wide eyed, in something of a peculiar daze. And then, with that taste of euphoria, a wicked grin snaked its way across her lips.

"Again," she demanded eagerly.

"See, it wasn't that bad. Why'd you have to be so--"
"Do you want to dance."

Tenjukai's words completely caught Mary off guard and she nearly gagged on the water she was drinking. Setting her glass on the table, she stared up at him with a mix of shock and embarrassment. "Wh...what?" She muttered. Tenjukai rolled his eyes. "Do you want to dance." Mary simply stared at him for the longest time. Was he drunk?! No, he didn't seem it; she couldn't smell any alcohol. And he was holding a can of Coca-Cola. He was completely sober. And asking her to dance. "Uhm..."

Honestly, Mary had no idea what to say. No one had ever asked her to dance before. Ever. Her face began to heat up, and she suddenly felt silly. Tenjukai seemed to take it the wrong way, because he looked very displeased with himself and turned to leave. Instantly Mary's hand shot up and grabbed his arm, stopping him in his tracks. Hesitantly, she stood up. "Yes...I would."

He glanced back at her for but a second, and she could have sworn he was smiling. Mary couldn't force the smile back as Tenjukai led her to the dance floor.

It always surprised him every time Ophelia openly showed her affection for him in public. Turning in his arms, she did not hesitate to wrap her arms around her neck, reach up and kiss him softly on the cheek. It was a new feeling, every time he experienced it. It was not something he had ever had, or had ever been allowed to experience. At one point in time, he had liked playing in the dark. But after so many years, and being restricted from the same play in public, he had become bored. It hadn’t been until Ophelia began to shower him with affection whenever the need arose that he became truly aware of how much he had longed for a relationship like this.

Though, that in itself was quick mocking. It made him want to laugh at himself, but at the moment he refused to be pulled down by thoughts that were better left in the back of his mind. Instead, he enjoyed the circle of warm arms around his neck and the big, warm blue eyes staring up at him.

“A bit intimate, aren’t we?” He pressed his forehead to her own, and teased her lightly. Though, at the same moment, he wrapped his arms around her waist and pulled her up against him then began to have them sway to the music.

Her mind was in turmoil, and she felt like she was crumbling to the ground along with her vision of happiness. Crumbling to lay at her feet as nothing more than dust. But then his horrified shout of denial had her jerking in shock and quickly glancing back up at him. Madeline stood there, staring at him with her violet eyes huge and still brimming with tears, watching as he merely stood there and seemed to be lost in thought.

And for a moment, she began to think his denial hadn’t come at all and it had merely been wishful thinking. Her mind began to turn once again, and millions of thoughts started to flood her head. What was she supposed to do? How as she supposed to feel? It wasn’t entirely his fault, right? While it was true he hadn’t said anything to her, he couldn’t help it if he hadn’t wanted to go on a date with her… But then, why had he sent her those notes back, telling her the way he looked and where to meet him? At this thought, her brows drew together and the whole cycle just started all over again, in a never ending circle.

But then the man interrupted, coming to life and digging into the pockets of his apron, pulling out pieces of paper she knew all too well. The girlish design of the paper immediately gave it away to be the very notes she had sent to him, telling him first about how he could recognize her and then, after she had bought her dress, telling him what it looked like and how she would be wearing her hair, and then she’d sent another telling him that the food tables were a perfect place to meet up. He had them all, showing them all to her now, one by one, holding them out before her with a pleading expression.

Then he proceeded to tell her how he had spent the entire day cooking everything that she now saw on the tables tonight. Unconsciously, she glanced over at the food tables and at all the different varieties of food. His earlier comment of thanking her suddenly fell into place; he’d thanked her because he was the chef, and she had been complimenting his food. She had also been devouring it all. Turning back to him, she listened as he continued and pushed the box of chocolates toward her, telling her how he had spent the day making them for her, and how he’d read her notes over and over, imaging who she was, what she was like, and trying to make them especially for her. Perfectly for her. Only for her.

Before she knew it, or could control it, she was crying. The tears were flowing freely down her cheeks as she reached out to take the box he was offering with, her hands shaking as they gently glided over the box and held it. A sob broke through her mouth as she stared down at the shiny wrapping, and the lopsided bow. He’d made these for her. For her.

“Thank you,” she cried, sobbing again. “Thank you.”

She couldn’t stop saying it, over and over. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you…

Her expectations of the festival had been high, though the blond had honestly no idea what she had gotten herself into. Upon arrival, her first impression of the festival had been... strange. While she wasn't entirely upset at that point, she had been a bit worried. As the festivities went on, however, her mood shifted dramatically until she was at the bottom of the barrel. It was safe to say that this experience was much like a roller coaster. Up, down, up, down. Her mind was barely settling on one emotion before changing to another.

This time, however, as she looked up into Cole's blue eyes, her mind finally settled down. Happiness, contentment, satisfaction; this was what she had been hoping for. She wanted to spend this night with Cole, to dance with him, enjoy the festival. It was different for them, something they had yet to experience together. And despite the fact that she had so easily fallen into such downtrodden state earlier, she was just as easily pulled right back out.

With Cole's forehead against hers, his arms around her waist, she lost herself in that moment. As they swayed back and forth to the music, she quickly drowned the sound out. Goddess, she wasn't even sure what the beat of the song was anymore, but it didn't matter. Cole lead, she followed, and they just danced. It wasn't awkward, wasn't strange, and what she felt should have been her first dance. Ophelia pressed her head against his chest, closing her eyes immediately. His heartbeat was rhythmic, loud, and enough for her.

Catching Jimbo's own move out of the corner of his eye, Fred grinned. 'He's doing better than I thought. Looking back at Hazel, she seemed a bit dazed but looked up at him with a grin.

"Again."

Laughing, he complied, this time, tossing her slightly though she was always touching his fingertips. Letting the spin last a bit longer, when he did bring her down, he dipped her just as Jim had. Gazing into her eyes, which seemed to glitter like stars, he smiled mischievously, and as he lifted her back up, spun her away from him, letting her pause at the end of his hand for a moment before pulling her back towards him in another spin. As he spun her back in, he caught her, pulling her close so they were both facing the same direction. Smiling brightly, he gently turned her around and continued with the normal dance; he was breathing a bit heavily, but he was loving every minute of it! How could he not? His partner's energy seemed to flow into him; he found himself liking her, despite their first meeting. How could he not? She was absolutely charming, in her own way.

Turning back to Trey, a large slice of cake on her plate she smiled. "Escapades are something like adventures." Chuckling when she noticed that some of the cookies were already missing from his plate, she began to look for a place to sit. "I'm glad that you are enjoying your cookies, Mr. Trey."

Noticing an empty table not too far from the dessert table, Rose gently ushered the young boy towards it.
