  • S P R I N G 20th | year 6
    Friday, 5:00PM, perfect weather

    A dirt pathway from the edge of the Village to Sapphire Glade has been set up, and framed by Chinese lanterns giving off the color of an aqua blue-green. Sapphire Glade is as it is all year round; breathtakingly beautiful, with perfect weather, and flowers blooming all throughout the land. Crystal-like flowers the size of small trees open up in the night, and give off a gentle blue glow, lighting the area along with the hovering fireflies.

    There are sparse trees in the area, and so the skies above are open and crystal clear, and as the night sets in the stars will help transform Sapphire Glade into a glittering wonderland. Light classical music lulls in the background, ready to pick up in tempo once the dancing of the night finally takes place. The main theme of the night is the sacred colors of the goddess; a soft, aqua-like, blue-green, and is used in the table clothes for the all the tables set up, the main alter holding a small statue of the Harvest Goddess herself, and even the candles set up glowed a light blue.

    Food tables, of course, are set up with a variety of dishes and refreshments, including wine. Currently, the Mayor of Obsidian was finishing the touches of the set up, hauling the packaged offerings to the Harvest Goddess over to her alter and neatly placing them around her stone figure.

Madeline was rather exhausted now that the evening of the Goddess Festival had finally come. She had known that her father would not have ever of allowed her to participate in the festival (especially since she signed up for a date!) and so she’d spent most of the morning trying to come up with a plan that would allow her to attend the festival tonight without her father knowing. In the end, she had simply packed her dress and accessories into a bag and then left, telling her father that she was going to the mainland to return some unwanted things she had bought the other day.
<br><br>
Little had she known that he would suggest they go together! And so she had spent a great portion of the day getting hauled around the mainland with her father, though she was happy she’d been able to side track him enough so that he forgot about her saying she wanted to return the stuff she’d brought with her. While they were eating at one of the restaurants, she had excused herself to the bathroom (what else could she do? It was nearing the time to go the festival and she was panicking!), got dressed and then snuck out of the restaurant while her father was pre-occupied with a waitress.
<br><br>
It was very difficult to run in high heels. Especially when you were running as though your life depended on it. And she viewed it as though it did! A life of happiness depended on it---hers! Madeline self-consciously began to thread her fingers through her wavy gold locks which had been wind blown and puffed out due to her sprint all the way from the mainland to Sapphire Glade.
<br><br>
Thank goodness she was able to make it in time! In fact, good fortune was with her today because she seemed to make it a little early and so she spent the time trying to fix herself back into some resemblance of order. She could only pray to the all merciful God (or Goddess, she supposed, since that was the custom here on the island) that her father hadn’t followed her!
<br><br>
“Good evening, my dear!” A happy little voice suddenly sprung forth, causing Madeline to squeak in surprise and lift a hand to grab at her rapidly beating heart. Her violet eyes fell onto the short little man she now knew to be the Mayor of Obsidian. Glancing down at him, and his funny little grin, Madeline was reminded of her father and the way he looked when he was grinning.
<br><br>
“Hello, Mayor Thomas,” She finally managed to say, smiling back at him politely. Then she noticed that he was carrying packages of some kind, and that he had a few more that were in need of towing. “Oh, here, let me help you,” Madeline offered, picking up the remaining offerings and following beside the Mayor, toward the alter as he began to chatter about how excited he was about tonight.

[Jim's Tuxedo]
<Br>
<br>
Well, this was definitely weird.
<Br>
<br>
Never, in his wildest dreams, did Jim ever believe he would attend a dance. With a date. While in a tuxedo. Er, if you'd go so far to call it that. Jim thought it looked more like an old school uniform, but his father Leonard had insisted that it would be the best outfit he could wear. "All the girl's will love you in this Jim! Now, go have fun!" Jim groaned inwardly and rolled his eyes. He didn't like tuxedos, or any kind of uniform. They were usually too tight. But now was definitely not a time to be complaining.
<br>
<Br>
Forcing back a sigh, Jim walked into the Glade with his date, Nyida. They had left the Inn together, as planned, and had made it to the Goddess Festival on time. Actually, from what he saw, it seemed like they were a bit early. A few people were still setting up! Great, now what? Jim lifted his hands, to instinctively shove them in his jacket pockets, when he realized that he had none. He reluctantly rested them against his sides. Clearing his throat, he turned his attention to Nyida.
<Br>
<Br>
"So... Looks pretty nice, doesn't it?" He was talking about the Glade and glanced around to inspect the area before looking back to her.

[ Nyida's Shoes ] [/align]

Nyida's fingers slowly ran across the smooth red fabric of her dress. For not one to be known for nervous reactions, she definitely could feel her heart pounding inside her chest like one of Zeus's lighting bolts. It could have been that this was her first time ever on a date, or the matter that sooner or later Jim and her would end up dancing in front of a great huge group of people. Luckily Nyida knew how to dance, thanks to Jim's mom. Only would she be able to remember and apply the steps when the time really asked for it?

Her blonde hair was put into two messy buns and wrapped around them was red curly ribbon. The ribbon didn't tie in a bow though, instead it cascaded halfway down her back. Her chest lifted with a big breath, and fell with a sigh. Why? She didn't know. Maybe she was just realizing how nerve wrecking everything was.

"Most certainly." She agreed, and those jade green eyes fell around the place. One could tell how hard others put their work into it. To think it wasn't even done since there was a few last people still setting up. "Looks like we got here early. Maybe we can find ourselves a table before they all get taken, or hard to find?" She suggeste, while glancing over at Jim.

Jim glanced over to Nyida and, for the first time tonight, really got a good look at her. His eyes widened slightly and he quickly glanced over to the tables. His face was red. "Yeah...we should. Let's go." Shaking his head a tad [hopefully Nyida hadn't noticed], Jim began to make his way over to where the tables were. She looks really nice, in that dress... He could feel his heart pounding in his chest, and he wasn't sure whether it was from nerves or the fact that Nyida looked stunning. Maybe it was both.
<br>
<br>
Clearing his throat, Jim was about to take a seat when he remembered his father's, er, 'words of wisdom' as Leonard liked to refer to them. "Always remember: Seat the lady first!" Luckily, he managed to stop himself before sitting and promptly pulled a seat out for Nyida. But he almost stumbled over his own feet and had to brace himself on the back of the chair. Hopefully she hadn't seen that either. "Er...you can sit down."

Luckily for Jim Nyida's eyes were scanning the area for a table. It wasn't like it was hard to find one, seeing as they were early. Although there was all the possibilities now. Did they want to be close to the dancing area? No. At least she didn't. Food? Now that was a maybe. Or the restrooms? Where did they want to be? If she had made up her mind, she probably would have put herself in the back, away from everything. Ready to fall into the shadows if needed for a bit. Although, it seemed Jim had found one, because by the time she turned around he was walking away.

Quickly catching up to him with as much grace as possible in her heels, she smiled and let out a small laugh at his clumsiness. She wouldn't say anything but look at him and nod her head slightly "Thank you Jim." And place herself down into the seat, fold her hands into her lap and place her feet close together on the ground. My feel will be feeling the pain of these things by the end of tonight. Looking around Nyida reached up with one hand, brushing her banges from her face. They were still one of the first to the dance. It felt awkward, yet nice.

[Tenjukai's Tuxedo
Mary's Dress]

"It'll be fun!"
"Hmph."
"Oh come on Tenjukai...you're still not mad at me, are you?"

Mary frowned, staring up at Tenj with an apologetic look. She had apologized to him about fifty times already, yet he still wouldn't say a word. Well, other than 'Hmph', but that didn't really count. She sighed inwardly, glancing away from the 'Goddess King' as they made their way into the Glade.

This was supposed to be a good time for him. She clenched her hands together slightly. Mary had signed him up for this because she figured it might be good for him to not just work all the time; he had to enjoy himself too! She'd even bought him a tuxedo for the Festival!

But, it wasn't all bad, she supposed. At least he's actually going, right? He could've stayed home if he wanted, but he's actually attending! Mary smiled and glanced up at Tenjukai again. Even if he seemed like he was in a sour mood, she had a feeling that he was really looking forward to this. Maybe. At least, she hoped he was.

"What're you smiling about?" Tenjukai sighed, although he couldn't help but smile a bit in return. It's thanks to you I'm in this mess. Oh, screw it. I might as well, we've come this far. He grunted and looked away from Mary, his eyes settling on the Glade that they'd just entered. It was really elaborate today. He scanned the area but didn't see a sign of his 'Queen' anywhere. Her name's...Ophelia Bano, isn't it?

[Vanilla's Tuxedo]

"It's been so long since I've worn one of these things." Vanilla mumbled to himself. He tugged at the tie around his tux to make sure it wasn't too tight. It'd suck if he choked or something. Clearing his throat, the blonde straightened out his matted hair as he walked into the Glade. Actually, he nearly bumped headlong into two people standing near the entrance. But Vanilla noticed them and was able to move in time. Phew, that was too close. The last thing he wanted was having some random guy angry at him for hurting their date.

Sighing as he stopped, Vanilla place both hands on his hips and glanced around. "So, where's my date?" He murmured, not seeing her anywhere. Truth be told, he had no idea what the girl looked like; he only knew her name. Imogen. That was a really unique name. Hopefully she knew what Vanilla looked like, otherwise they might never find each other! Maybe they gave out pictures of our partners and I just missed mine? He absentmindedly wondered this as he made his way over to the food tables.

[ Lia's Dress ]

It was such a beautiful sight that Lia could barley keep herself from going in without waiting for her date. Although standing off to the side she would wait. It didn't seem like too many were inside, and this saddened Lia. She was a social bee when she could be. Or, she simply liked to observe the scenery and how people acted inside it. With the lack of human presence, she would have to wait for this.

Standing with her hands folded in front of her she would allow her head to fall back allowing her eyes to watch the fireflies and stars above. Her hair was braided half way from the start of her hair line, and then it pulled back into a high curly ponytail. Sighing softly, she wondered how she would know who Liam was, or how he would know it was her.

Should I have worn a name tag?

Alberto did not know what had possessed him to sign up for the festival. Perhaps it was a lack of judgement. Perhaps it was just that he wanted to meet new people. He didn't really know. The man had left his bag elsewhere so that he did not look odd carrying it around. His glasses were left along with his bag.

Walking the dirt path made Al want to run. He didn't really like dirty. Alberto knew that if he ran it would kick up dirt and would make his black suit look horrid. Slowly he made his way into the festival. He was so nervous. He'd never been around large crowds.

There were Laterns alight all around him. Standing in awe as he looked around. The man had never seen fireflys before. They seemed like magic to him. Only have read about them in books he found it odd to see them in real life.
+++++++

Liam had been forced into going to the Festival by Alana. It was always what Alana says goes. He had other plans for this night and dancing was not one of them. His blue shirt and blue shoes made him feel almost ridiculous. He stood outside of the festival leaning against a tree. He didn't want to go in. Liam pouted like a child.

Clearing his throat, Jim took his seat across from Nyida. He glanced around and noticed that a food table was a little ways from where they were seated. He glanced over to Nyida. "Did you want to grab something to eat?" He asked and nodded over his shoulder, toward the tables of food. Personally, he was starving. But Leonard had instructed him to serve the lady first, so Jim figured he'd have no choice but to wait until she answered.
<Br>
<br>
Glancing away from his 'date' momentarily, he noticed that other people were beginning to arrive. They look about as lost as we do. Jim rolled his eyes and shook his head in amusement. This Festival was proving to be a lot more interesting than he'd first thought it would be. Eventually he looked back over Nyida. "When do you think they'll start the dance?" Not that he was excited to dance or anything; it was just something to do. But Jim was a bit anxious to show off the things he'd learned from Fredrick. Speaking of Fred, I wonder when he'll get here?

Getting lost in the maze above of the stars, and fireflies making their ways through them (Or so it seemed) she smiled contently, and closed her eyes giving herself a slow spin. She loved the feel of her dress swishing around her ankles, and falling into place after her spin had stopped.

Once her spin was done Lia smiled and glanced around noticing a few more people arriving. I wonder if any of them are Liam. Biting down on her bottom lip she took a few steps toward one of the new people, and decided to speak a bit loudly in case it wasn't Liam, but he was one of the others that showed.

"You wouldn't happen to be Liam, would you?" She said to a man that was coming up through the latern lighting.

Liam looked up to see a lovley young lady in a sparkling black dress. He smiled. She beautiful. "Yes I am, you must be Lia"He took her hand and kissed it. Perhaps this night wouldn't be so bad. He stared at the girl for a moment taking in her appearence. "You look beautiful"he said smiling.

Alana was so angery that Liam actually listened to her about going. It was stupid. For some reason Alana found her self jealous thinking about some girl spending all night with him dancing the night away. Without much thought Alana threw on her dress and did her hair. She sped quickly to the festival following close behind Liam the entire way.

When she reached the enterance she saw Liam kissing some girls hand. Her brow furrowed. How dare he. Alana's dress made a swishing sound as she walked. "Liam" she said in her innocent voice.

Yeah, screw tuxedos.

There was no way Kent would be caught, even dead, wearing one of those things. He'd rather be cremated and have his ashes scattered than be in a casket with one of those god-forsaken suits on. Sure, the Goddess Festival had called for formal wear, but Kent honestly didn't care. He'd go in what he felt like. And so, he arrived at Sapphire Glade in his normal attire - shirtless with only his red long coat, brown pants and black boots. His guns were where they could always be found; in their holsters attached to the back of his pants belt.
<br>
<br>
Smirking wildly, Kent's eyes darted around the scene. He was hoping he might spot someone he knew. Or at least a hot chick he could convince to go back to his place for some 'after party fun'. Thankfully, he did manage to see someone that he recognized. Myrta; that rowdy chick he'd met in the Cafe. Grinning mischievously, Kent snuck up behind her and wrapped his arms around her waist. "Hey, you miss me, Lady?" He whispered.

Lia heard a man call himself Liam. At this she turned around to see a very handsome man standing before her. Instantly the top of her cheekbones hued a light red, and she was very pleased with her date. Although, she was even more pleased when he took her hand and kissed it. She'd gotten a real gentlemen. How lucky! "Well, I may be beautiful but it looks like my date isn't half bad himself." She gave a small laugh, and gave a small curtsey followed. "Names actually Kiocle, except I go by Lia. It's easier."

Taking one step back she allowed herself to take another glance at her date, and sighed contently. Yes, this would be a fun night indeed. Even if her and her date didn't flirt, friends was well enough.

Liam

Lia's head turned around, and she noticed another woman walking down. "Did you get partnered up with two woman?" She wondered aloud.
