; spring eleventh [freshn'green] 12:01 pm -| tree shadows Her lips were sticky from old lip gloss, stuff that she'd had stashed in some purse for god-knows-how-long and just decided to take out now - a kind of insignificant feature of her multi-patterened ensemble - and immediately upon squeezing that little plastic tube and seeing the globby pink stuff that came out, she mourned the loss of a good friend and partner in fashion crime, but put it on anyways. Waste not want not, eh eh. She'd throw the rest out later. Probably. So now that it was warm out again, and it was easier to wear things that didn't weigh at least ten pounds, Chimera fully took advantage and abused the privelage of Free Choice In Attire to don a zebra-print minidress over dark wash skinny jeans, bright green flats, a jingly chain anklet and a cherry-on-the-cake black and pink plaid corset vest; the trees barely concealed all the brightness and... obscurity she so contently walked through the forest with. Today was all about fresh air and good tidings; she was looking for a little karma, hopefully good, to balance out what was an otherwise topsy-turvy life. All in a day, huh. |

Each sway of the trees lead into a serenade of green and pink. It was very unusual to find cherry blossom trees deep in the forest and especially on an island. Thus, a chain reaction occurs and the abnormalities begin to collect on center stage. Everything that happened with a tie to strange somehow was attached to a specific villager. No matter how unusual or abnormal it was, he would have this ability to be caught dead with it or with him or her. Maybe his weird fashion trends finally took a turn for the worst, perhaps? His hair glided smoothly with the wind. Cloud certainly had his hair soft and silky today, how odd. Most of the time, a spiked hair little brat would take form and bash anything down if needed to. A true art of charade was in play. The snowy white hoodie perfected his bright white pants. Both of them had the same baggy characteristics. Though the boy wore the hoodie, the hoodie itself did not cover his head. More oddly, his shoes resembled a sock, white and pure. Was this an angel or a devil in a perfect disguise? A bellowed sigh echoed into the emerald forest. As his movement quickened, it also halted quite abruptly. The sound of his left foot dragging against the dirt almost remained hidden. He grabbed the sides of his neck and squeezed as he walked over to a clearing. Cloud's smirk truly showed through and all of this exhilirating happiness was brought on by Hazel Cera. The thoughts of their last meeting bombarded his mind immediately after one single glimpse. Now the final decision quickly set foot. Should he waltz into her what seemed like a peaceful R&R or should he just leave now. Funny, the same forks was given to him last time they met. Well, maybe not the same, but pretty close to similarity. "Hazel?". Why did he say her name in such a interrogating manner. The sentence merely was to call her out, but his voice sounded more of a suprise. Cloud walked closer and clutched her arm."Its been awhile since I saw you". The immediate realization of 'too-close for comfort' moved him back. He chuckled quietly to himself and waited for her response. |

If it was karma-hunting, Chimera knew a thing or two; namely, it wasn't nearly so chaseable as it was chasing. Life throws things your way, and you handle it, and somehow the Goddess decides to give you a little pat on the head with some good luck, right? So really, she was just wasting time. Waiting for someone, something, anything to stumble in her path so she could dabble a little bit with the gears of her own life, cherry-flavoured gloss shimmering on an open smile, maroon rouge-y hair tied up to flounce brightly with every step - and so her shot at karma came, in the form of a boy dressed head-to-toe in white. She actually laughed, a high and fairylike sound, out of surprise; the combination of the voice and the hand on her arm made her heart jump, that adrenaline rush of a poacher with his hand on the trigger. Well, that, and she'd run into someone fun who she hadn't seen in at least a season. "Hey!" She greeted in return, turning quickly to face him - and even as he pulled away, like her skin was a hot stove, she caught his hand between hers, like the tail of a rat trying to escape the moustrap, grinning with that innocent mischievious that was so characteristic of her. "Haven't talked to you in a while, mister Cloud," Her pure delight at this turn of events was clear as anything, and she cocked her head to the side, some kind of warped plot already beginning to form in that head of hers as she eyed him up. "You look good. What've you been up to since the Moon View-whatever-it's-called?" |

The grip Hazel had on him surely had no effect, but it did signify something. Did she actually want him to accompany her with what seemed like to be her leisure time? Cloud consumed the information before sliding out of her useless grip. He gave her a pat on the shoulder and conveniently lounged on the stump beside her. The soft shy smile he wore complimented his clothes perfectly. His white combination gave him the right amount of innocence. Certainly, anyone who first met Cloud would judge him as an innocent teenager. Unfortunately, the account of Hazel's first tragic meeting with him was already recorded. "Yeah, I guess our paths weren't meant to cross until now". The low-pitch chuckle escaped his mouth."I have to admit. The next time I would see you, I thought it'd be you fainting again. I guess I'm wrong." Cloud smiled lightly, just like the joke was intended to be taken, lightly."Um, I guess I've been wandering. Not much done, but I did meet a few interesting people, excluding you of course. For some reason though, most of them... Wait, actually all of them were girls". He scratched his head and laughed. Now that the topic came up of his sudden meetings with girls, he began to think of why. It was unusual to bump into girls every other day, but maybe this was populated with mostly girls. The only guy hes met so far was Jonah, but counting him as a guy would be wrong. "Now its my turn. What have you been doing last season?" A small peak of interest rose as his eyes lit up. Cloud moved his head closer to her to get a more audible answer. |

He was not nearly as fun to bug as she'd thought he would be. Inwardly pouting, if only for a second, Chimera let her hands drop to her sides. Undeterred by the rejection (pshaw, as if driving her away was that simple!), she gave her head a shake and settled on the stump beside him. Well, she'd been walking for a while. It was just fine to rest her legs for a little bit. The relaxation was short lived, though, as her shoulders and lips both tensed simultaneously at his joking mention of fainting. With anything else, she was good humoured enough to take mockery with a grin - but that was a raw spot. Something she would rather not be reminded of. After all, she never wanted to be seen in that state by anyone, let alone a total stranger. Just the thought made her stomach churn in resentment and anger, though it wasn't really clear to whom it was all directed towards. "La, well hullo ladies man," She teased with a bit of difficulty, teeth still locked pretty tight. Chimera had half a mind to get up and leave now to punish him for bringing that sensitive subject up - even if, due to her own carefree outer-attitude towards it, he couldn't possibly know how damaging it was to her dignity. So it probably wouldn't do any good to punish him when he didn't even know what he was being punished for; she'd stay where she was, then, and settle for digging the backs of her heels into the dirt until the chest-tightening frustration eased away. "Got any marriage offers yet? I'm sure this place is just thriving with bachelorettes ready to swipe up the first sexy man they find," And there was that good-humour again, showing throw a toothy smirk and glinty eyes, "I guess I should get on that soon too, huh? With competition like that, I'm gonna be a destined spinster before I'm thirty." This didn't seem to bother her one bit. Because she'd known since she was a kid that she wouldn't settle for the sake of settling; and after that boy, she knew there was a good chance she'd never comfortably entrust her heart to anyone ever again. And she'd come to terms with that. 'Sides, livin' up the single life for a few more decades couldn't possibly as miserable as everyone thought. She shrugged at his question. "Nothing interesting," was her reply, though not entirely truthful. She'd met plenty of interesting people - but they were mostly older women, shopkeepers, whoever she ran into wandering the surprisingly busy streets at noon. But somehow it wasn't worth indulging him with, and neither was the fact that she'd been pretty much living in a sleeping bag for the past few weeks. Which reminded her, she needed to get on furniture shopping soon. "Where you off to right now?" Chimera asked, changing the subject to something that seemed a bit more urgent. |

Why a sudden change of attitude. His face showed the slightest remorse to the previous questions. He shrugged like normal because commenting and answering was such a hassle. Cloud would rather have a silent conversation, but is that even possible? Unable to respond with his mind fuzzed up by trivial thoughts, he laughed uncontrollably for a few measly seconds and stared into her honey eyes. Her soft shades mixed into a pot of all kinds of brown and yellow gave him a sort of peace and serenity. Cloud smiled and again, realized everything all at once like a giant tsunami wiping his absent-minded personality. "Sorr... y. Um, yeah. I'm not really heading anywhere. I just wanted to spend some time in the forest. Call it an urge". A smile arosed from his face, but this one showed something 'different'. This smile expressed a sincerity, a warm and kind sincerity."Wait, do you want to go somewhere? I'll come with you I guess". His voice shook the very fabric of peace that was looming around him. For once, trouble wasn't on his agenda. The birds flew through the holes that showed the sky. Cloud's voice yelped as he forcefully pulled the hoodie over his head. The shout did not sound as girly as it could've been, but it did sound abnormal, queer almost. He shook his head, trying to shake the embarassment off. Normally, birds did not scare him, but today, they did. |

Yes, she decided again, watching him with her head half-cocked, he was an interesting one. It was because she couldn't anticipate him that she wanted to know more about him. Figure out how those gears in his head clicked together. In the end, in Chimera's eyes this boy was one helluva puzzle, and oh she really did love a good puzzle. "Mm," Smile growing ever-so-slightly, she was back on her feet within a second, brushing any tree-bits off her vibrant shirt/dress, "Then you wouldn't mind going into town for a bit, hey, forest man?" Already she was planning. Karma hunting could go on, after all. Plus she'd be able to kill two birds with one stone, which always sweetened any deal. Once she was feeling clean enough to be presented in public, Chimera reached down to grab his hand, trying to tug him back up playfully. "You can help me with my shopping." |

The first second her mouth opened, he figured out what would happen next. Was this some sort of bad omen, telling him his day would end up in catastrophic hell? Cloud brushed it off and looked at her, imitating his best expression of shocked. His mouth gaped open, but instantly closed afterwards. Well, he did have nothing to do and plus, going into town would be nice. He paused suddenly in his thought and dugged deeper into her scheme. The first time they were acquainted with each other, disaster struck, but it settled down to something close to soothing. He smiled, a clearly fake smile. "Yeah, I'll go...". And there it was. He was going to be her carrier. How life is so unfair on those who do nothing wrong. Cloud began to pity himself, but stood up and forgot about all his woe and agony. His eyes fell on her, almost piercing her, motioning her to go. The urges he had to just yank her hand and go were quite sudden and irresistable. Could he, would he? The boy fiddled around his hands as he took a few steps away from where he sat. He looked up into the emerald trees, watching them sway with the sweet spring wind. The chirps of birds showed a hint of happiness in today. His lips opened wider as his eyes sparkled against the sun. A radiant glow made his hair shimmer like diamonds in a crystal clear lake. His image right now was breath-taking and attractive. Almost making you believe he really is an angel. |

Chimera grinned. However half-hearted and insincere his agreement was - well, you could never really tell with the grouchy types, could you - an agreement was an agreement, on paper at least, and when you stripped away all the undertones and expressions and connotations, you really just could not hold her accountable. Screw guilt and empathy; he'd been the one to stumble across her, now he would just have to put up with it. Karma karma karma, baby. "Well c'mon pretty boy, we don't have all day," Giddy at the prospect, she easily grabbed one of his hands in hers and took off down one of the paths. Shopping day with Oscar the Grouch. Now I ask you, how could things be any better~? ((Will post somewhere in Pyrite tomorrow x3)) |
