Since the new Zelda game is apparently going to be in a different era, what do you think the game is going to be like? I remember a while back an April Fools Joke that the next LoZ would take place in a sorta high-tech futuristic time period. That would be pretty interesting, though I'm not sure THAT would happen based on the image of link with the angel/zora/whatever that is. |

I think that future thing is dead. I know Nintendo wants something different, but that'd be a really risky move. |

I'd say it would break the franchise. |

Well, the thing is that they have to change something... because Zelda games are all so similar. I mean, sure the levels and items and everything are different, but they're ultimately all the same. FYI the train thing in Spirit Tracks is not the sort of thing I'm talking about. |

Maybe it'll be old style? And the What-dyo-jigger woman thing is the holy grail and you have to find her so you can drink the elixer so your life lasts long enough for you to do all the wonderful things we played that happen in the future. Another mystery solved. Edited by Jinglefruit, Jun 17 2009, 04:49 PM.

My vagina has wildly spinning rotors. I blend bananas with their might. My wives are displeased with the mess they make. And they keep the neighbours up at night. But they are my vagina rotors. And they're a little bit of alright. | |

I think it's a possibility. However, there are a few other reasonable guesses. Scenario A: Camera pans over a beautiful field where many creatures, large and small, roam freely. It slowly turns toward a mountain where, after some clever zooming and lens flare, we learn that a society lives inside of various caves and other openings in the walls. Enter our hero, Link-ugh. Link-ugh is part of a tribe of innovative geniuses who are renegades in the fields of technology, hunting and gathering, basic communicating, and fire-creation. As a young boy, Link-ugh is taught the art of his family, breaking big rocks into little rocks. Link-ugh would rather practice his fighting skills in the woods, however, and returns to town one day to find that all of his tribe has been brutally murdered and eaten by velociraptors. Thus begins Link-ugh's journey to find not only any surviving tribe-mates, but his own true identity. Scenario B: The first images we see are of a dirty roadside diner in a sweltering desert region. The diner is populated by only the waitress, a vagabond, and a trucker by the name of Cleetus Linkus. Mr. Linkus is an ordinary middle-aged man intently eating a slice of pie. Upon finishing his pie and coffee, Linkus steps outside to return to his truck. Lighting a cigarette on the way, he looks up and is surprised by the vagabond's appearance in front of his face. The vagabond asks only for a ride, and Linkus gladly accepts. Speeding along the highway, the vagabond shares with Linkus a story about his childhood as a hero, who saved an entire race. Linkus blows it off as some delusion the man has endured, until he begins seeing strange things everywhere he goes after the encounter. After arriving at a hotel in a remote town, Linkus is surprised to find no humans in sight, only hideous monsters. He defends himself with the first weapon he finds, a mysterious sword sticking out of the concrete next to a street sign and a fire hydrant. Alright that's enough for tonight. I'm off to bed :/ |

Scenario B we can rule out since he has no sword. And that woman looks nothing like a fire hydrant D: |

Well he has no sword in the picture, but I wouldn't call that confirmation. After all, when asked about Pikmin 3, Reggie said "wait for Miyamoto's roundtable", and guess what happened? That's right. No Pikmin. All Wii Sports Resort. |

Nah. He just had an incredibly huge boner for those 2 new generic Toad's in New Super Mario Bros. Wii. Man, they should've just put in Wario and Waluigi. I mean, really? Generic blue and yellow Toad... OK, now bring on the "WARIO!?!? Wario!?!? Are you serious!?!?" lines. |

I assumed it meant wario, waluigi, bowser, peach, koopa ect ect are all incorperated into the game somehow already. |

I don't think the era will change much. I have confidence Nintendo will give us a rad title, but they can't stray too far from the formula that's worked for them. How about not thinking to the future, but maybe something more from the past? |

It'd make more sense to make the game more in the past than the future. Only because the future is really out there. |

I think it would be cool anyways, and honestly I don't see how it couldn't be done. The Triforce isn't something that just fades with time. |

It could be done, but it seems a bit risky. I mean, if anything, test the whole "futuristic Zelda" thing on a smaller DS title first. Don't do it on the big upcoming Zelda title the entire world is waiting for- one that people get excited for when you reveal that Link is in the game. |

well, if it was set in the future... 1. there'd be no use for the master sword (break out the AK-47) 2. You'd think all the moblins would be wiped out or something. 3. Dungeons won't be dungeons anymore... they'd just be rooms 4. No more hyrule field 5. No more hyrule castle (where's the fun in that?) 6. Eponia would be a car 7. Fairys would be holograms (Hey, listen- futuristic style) 8. ...and besides, weren't the gerudos wiped out in Twilight Princess? No more Gannondorf ...scary... |
