Item Basics Basic Items Basic items are simple. They are sold in shops where you buy them and then enjoy them. It is as easy as that. Sometimes you can even get discounts. All villagers who belong to a certain village get a 20% discount off of anything they buy there off of the bat. If your Charisma is 50+ you can persuade the shop-keeper to sell you an item for 15% less. That means if you're in a village and you have 50+ Charisma you get a 35% discount on all items purchased. Custom items Custom items are things requested in the request forum that are made for your character and your character alone. Whether it is an item or a weapon, you request it and we will give it a Yen value. Then you can either pay for it straight by going to a shop keeper and asking them to make it for you for the price of Yen or quest for it. But be logical; don't go to a Scroll Shop requesting a certain poison to be made. Poisons would obviously be made in Medical or Herb Shops. You must first get the item approved in the request forum where a Staff member will give you a price for it. This price will determine how much you must pay for this item. If the head of the village sees the item being popular, then they might put the item in stock there by paying a certain amount of Yen. Buying/Selling Now, it is possible to re-sell your items to the proper shop. You get 50% if what the item is worth by selling it to the shop-keeper. If you want to though, you can give the item up for 30% of what it's worth for the Shop to start carrying it as an inventory stock. From then on you would get 50% off of the item every time you make a purchase. Legendary items do not have a value to Shops. Quests Quests are how you obtain a custom item without paying for it in a shop. You request an item and then you post up going on a journey or adventure to find said item. Depending on how you want to do it, it is easier to do a quest for something than a mission for it, however takes longer to do a quest for it than a job. Why is that? Missions earn both money and stats. Quests only earn stats and the items. Jobs earn no stats but a lot more Yen. So, if you want to do something big that goes over the value of the item, go for a mission to have some spare money afterwards and use the money you need to buy it. If you plan to do it to the bare bones, go for a quest. If you don’t care about stats, do a job and just buy it. It all depends on you. Legendary Jutsu Basically, you request it in the Requests Forum. We then tell you what we expect from you to get it. The lower your stats the more we expect from you. Legendary jutsu are non-custom jutsu that are very powerful, most displayed in the show. |

Creation Systems A creation system is a custom system where a person is able to craft items on their own. These are usually based off of a 10 level system, such as Scroll Writing and Toxicology below, however if you can come up with a new one, feel free. Scroll Writing When you look at this ability, you think “What in the world could I use this for?” At least, most people do. However, the ability to write scrolls tends to be a very powerful, if not overlooked, ability. Why do you ask this? Well, with scroll writing, anything that requires a seal, you can create. Whether it be a simple exploding tag or an advanced scroll to even seal a demon (though don’t expect that any time soon). Levels Scroll writing has ten different levels, all dictated by the simple equation (Aptitude + Sealing / 40) = Scroll Writing Level. That means with 20 Aptitude and 20 Sealing, you have level 1 scroll writing. Why do you care what level of scroll writing you can muster? Simply put, the higher the level, the more complicated the items you can create. Level 1 - 2 = Making basic items. Level 1 is the most basic of items, level 2 is more like making your own containment scrolls. This is usually cheaper than buying them. Level 3 - 5 = Making custom items. These are basic customs but they are stronger than the items sold in stores and cost next to nothing, only ink and the thing to write on it. Level 6 - 8 = Advanced custom items. Barrier scrolls, elemental sealing scrolls, curse marked tags, the like. Level 9 - 10 = Forbidden items. These are like tags that can seal someone's chakra within themselves for long periods of time, scrolls that can seal a demon, etc. How to Make Them There are two things you need to create something using this skill, ink and something to put the ink on. The difference in materials has to do mostly with the size and power of the paper. The larger the paper, the more you can put on it and the larger the effect. There are three basic types of paper you can buy in most all places. Blank Note - The size of a small slip of paper, think of this as the post-it notes of the ninja world. Blank Tag - Think larger, about the size an adult’s open palm. Blank Scrolls - Much larger than both of those, these are full scrolls and range from small to extremely large. With those materials, you simply make a thread where you take said ink and write on said notes, tags or scrolls. Of course, ink isn’t infinite, and 1 note uses up 1/5 of a bottle, one tag uses up 2/5 and one scroll uses up 3/5 of a bottle, so you’ll have to buy a lot if you’re hoping for mass production. Existing Items To give an example of where the beginning levels lie, here is a list of items makable by the skill and what levels they use. Remember, this is only up to level 5 and beyond that it is all custom. Also keep in mind that this is not a complete list but rather a small sample of board wide items, so if you have a question about a specific item, ask a staff member. Fire Petal [NR] - Level 1 Exploding Tags (Used in Fire Shuriken and Kunai) [NR] - Level 1 Replicating Tags ( Used in 3 and 6-way Shuriken and Kunai) [NR] - Level 1 Ice Shard Tag [NR] - Level 2 Seal of Burden [NR] - Level 2 Time-activated Exploding Tags [NR] - Level 2 Seal Release Exploding Tag [NR] - Level 2 Containment Scroll [R] - Level 2 Containment Scroll II [R] - Level 3 Toxicology Poisons and Antidotes All Poisons and Antidotes have levels of power. The ability known as "Toxicology" will determine this strength for players when they make a poison or antidote. Making a poison or antidote requires a simple ability and a few tools: Mortar and pestle Bottle Base liquid (Typically water, there are better liquids out there) When poisoned, if you have no abilities or items that could relive you of these poisons... you're boned. The same thing would apply if you were caught in a Genjutsu and had no means to defend yourself. You better pray that the poison cannot kill you or you just might find your character acing an untimely demise. But alas, there are several jutsu that can weaken the effects of poisons or even cure them (If you have the ability to). Weapons can be laced with poisons, but are typically only useful as such if the weapon has a cutting edge or piercing ability. Crushing someone with a poisoned hammer, typically doesn't work. A weapon however, may NOT be laced with more than one poison. People may only be poisoned with up to two poisons at one time. When one wears off, you may do another one. Poisons last until the end of a thread unless otherwise specified. That means there can be poisons out there that last less time and there can be those that last more time. It's up to you on how you make the poison. Making Them There are 10 levels of poisons and antidotes and you have the option of buying a poison/antidote or making one yourself. Anything above level 5 must be PC-made because it is rare for anyone to create any poison/antidote stronger than that. To make a dose of a poison or antidote, you use this equation. (Intellect + Medical Skill)/40 = Maximum level of poison/antidote you can create. In order to make a dose of a level 10 poison/antidote, you will need a total medical and intellect of 400 at least. To make a dose of a poison/antidote, you will also need to have the "Identify Poison/Antidote" ability. Lastly, you will need to pay for the cost of materials for each dose of the poison/antidote. The reason you want to a strong poison over weaker ones is so that people have a harder time to cure themselves. In order to cure yourself or someone else of a poison completely before the end of a thread, you need an antidote equal to or greater in level of the poison affecting you or someone else. |
