It had taken him three weeks between shifts to track down his target. Granted it wasn't easy for him at this point to have the time to do these sort of things, with the upheaval in the city. Taking the time to stop and light a cigarette he readjusted the sunglasses upon his face while puffing on the cancer-causing agent. Shoving the pack of cigarettes and lighter back into the lower pocket of his Black tactical pants he looked up at his goal one more time. A seedy looking abandoned warehouse just off the main street area of the once beautiful haven. Music blared in his ears as he listened to the Ipod that had been purchased for his birthday prior to all of the insanity. Mouthing the words in time with the music he readied himself for what was to come. Stopping once more just outside he looked up at the plywood sheeted windows noting that it would be dark as hell inside. Distant memories stirred within his mind recalling the reasons of why he had chosen to do such things. Why he hadn't let anyone else on the response team know the reason behind his refusal to just sit and wait at the armory. Who would believe what he would tell them? They would have stripped him of the badge and thrown him in the looney bin for sure. The intruders of the city proper had already dealt two others that had the same ideas as him with. The whole scene played out before his minds eye once again as he kneeled down, praying the he would be able to walk out once again what the reason for his mission was. It seemed that a large number of Attribitu and Catiff had found their next feeding ground. Leaving bodies littered upon the streets and those that were left around to cower in fear for their lives. The police were going absolutely apeshit. State Police, Various municipal and county agencies along with the federal government had no clues to follow the path of blood and bodies that had been left in their wake. None of it made any sense in way that it all appeared to be just random victims that were chosen. He had watched one evening with night vision binoculars from his perch on the second floor of the municipal building how groups of five or ten just walked through the streets as if they owned it all. He couldn't help but cringe as he watched the two State troopers confront the pack of bloodthirsty monsters. Before either one could call for help the five were upon them feeding and torturing the pair. Taking the time to make sure that they had received the nutrition they craved to the fullest extent before laughing and turning their attentions to the destruction of the vehicle. Standing up fully he reached to the back of his vest grasping the Halligan entry tool firmly and withdrawing it from the straps that held it secure on his journey from the Armory. Stepping forward he nudged the bladed part of the oversized pry bar in between a section of blood stained wood and the hardwood surface of the building. His muscular arms flexed as the blood pumped through his veins tearing off the window covering letting the daylight shine freely into the interior of the building. Letting go of the tool as the wood fell away his right hand snatched the pistol from the holster on his leg leveling it on the opening in case there was anyone behind it. The adrenaline coursing through his system only helped him to block out everything that was behind him in the street. Turning on the flashlight attached to the bottom of the pistol he peered over the recesses that were not bathed in the natural exterior light. Lifting his leg to enter he rested it on the frame for a moment taking another drag from the cigarette held by his lips. It was only then that he had felt the hand upon his shoulder pulling him off balance and swinging him around against the exterior of the building. His eyes grew wide momentarily as the gun was pushed away from the person who had scared the daylights out of him. As the straining of his heart against his rib cage diminished he breathed a sigh of relief recognizing his brother and one of his friends. Removing the ear bud from his ear he expelled another labored breath of smoke confronting the unexpected company. Jesus H Christ... Jon. What the hell were you thinking? I could have just blown your friggin head off! What are you doing here? |

Thumbing his own pistol which was already drawn as he stood there wearing clothing similar to his brothers. Posted Image He couldn't help but smile as he looked back his rattled sibling. Well you see it's like this... There is no way in hell that I am letting you do this alone. Amelia just wanted to tag along. Winking to his brother out of sight of his female companion, he carefully skated around the simple fact that they had just finished doing the nasty at her nearby apartment and just so happened to see Highway preparing to enter the building while they were walking back to the armory. So what are we looking at bro? |
