Dallas is our city The year 2213 - Now we need to think through what are our boundaries of this place. While we can be creative lets not get to unrealistic *sinckering* like we would do that eh? ... What is the government like - Who runs the city What powers ie lycan, vampires, garou, human mobs, etc What business? Technology? Other ideas... |

I'm already putting in for Russian mob - same deal, more or less, as at LbN - conflict diamonds, drugs, smuggling, forgery, etc. Although here, I think it will be run by Irina Zdanova (however many greats-granddaughter to Nikolai Zdanov) |

My thoughts. Ok here is what is running around in my head and I don't know if it will work or not. DFW 2113. The American Government is in shambles, the wars of the early 2000's in the Middle East depleted her of men and most importantly money. While the US government was busy fighting the terrorist a new power was slowly making it's way across Europe. Vampires, Lycan, etc... (sorry can't remember all of the different factions you wrote), were taking over the major cities in Europe. In the year 2050, the Iranian underground tired of the Infidel American occupation of their country did the unthinkable. They launched their nuclear missles at key targets in America. America responded. Though the technology had been in place since the early 1950's no one had dared to actually launch nuclear weapons. All the models, all the war games, all the scientific experts and no one had a clue. Mother Earth was ravaged. The resulting impacts nudged her off her orbit. Oceans rose, seas dried, and terror ruled the streets. All the scientist in the world never could have predicted what would happen. No theory called for it, no prediction saw it coming. The Earth's rotation slowed. Days, what were those no one remembers them anymore, were reduced to 3 hours. Nighttime ruled the world. The Earth adapted. Science had always warned of nuclear winter and the destruction of living things. They Knew Nothing. Mother Earth adapts, changes, and this time was no different. Plants continued to grow, animals adapted and became creatures of the night. Mankind changed. Long have the stories of werewolves and vampires circulated in different cultures of the world. Scoffed at as only myth and fantasy, the stories became real. Long hidden away from the prying eyes of mortal man, the vampires (etc) had forged a government and way of life of their own. Now they rule the old world and have spread into what remains of America. OK, that just popped out. Can we use any of it? |

It's AWESOME! Heck yeah we can use it! Now, here's the first obvious question that pops out- Are vampires and werewolves(garou as opposed to Lycan) a KNOWN commodity? If so, what has happened where the Camarilla Masquerade is concerned or the Garou Veil??? If we are going to do away with those, then we must have good explanations as the Camarilla, some clans more then others, HEAVILY clung to the tenent of Thou shalt not breach the masquerade, just as Garou litany and law declares Do not breach the Veil. (for those less familiar with these-the masquerade or the veil os the law of secrecy under which garou and camarilla vampires operate, never divulging their true nature to any not "of the blood".) Perhaps the vampires are known, and the Sabbat have emerged as the stronger sect during the post-nuclear era, the few cities still held onto by the Camarilla barely held by them (DFW being one) and done so through treachery, deceit and the sinister wiles of the most dangerous among the camarilla who survived. These few still hold to the Masquerade tenaciously, for their own reasons. Maybe it is long established habit and a sense of security in that charade. Maybe they cling to some small vestige of their humanity by playing at being mortal. Anyway...more stuff to think about...oi vey! My head hurts now! Where's that coffee?!?!?!?!?!?!? |

Hands over the double strength, paint-peeling coffee over. So this would, in essence, be a reverse of the traditional Camarilla/Sabbat roles? Well, isn't that food for thought. Could actually add a little spice to things if maybe the Sabbat in the DFW area wanted to come out from behind the masquerade while the Camarilla cling to it and this could be a source for tension? |

OOo what if the reasons changed for the masquarade? What if HUMANS are the ones that are fighting to survive and their number is low. The Cam would have reasons perhaps to want to keep the masquarade to assist the humans in growing again. I mean do vampires WANT to live on livestock *snickering* same with the lycan garou etc....your race can't continue on without a good population of humans....*grins* |

Ok, while I dunno what some of that means, I get the gist of it. Think future here. Maybe we need to jump it up another 100 years. Really get out there where things are forgotten. And please, please, alter any of the above. Like I just said it kinda popped out. LOL Also, in the future, who says blood hasn't been cloned? Think a ready supply of nutriant to a wide population. The only reason to feast on humans would be for the sheer sport of it, or custom, or ritual, or just to turn one. (Is that right?) LOL I'm still a little lost. Also, the possibilities are endless. I would think Dallas might be a bit devestated by the war, it certainly would have been a target, Houston definetly would be considering NASA. Vamps in space anyone? We can still work with the masquerade thing though. Prominant men and women, immortal, wealthy, unaffected by the war because they were all hidden out in their lairs, etc... Well those folks would just tend to take over everything wouldn't they? And why to I get visions of a group of vamp hunters called the SBVH, southern baptist vampire hunters. LOL Sorry if that offends anyone. |

Your doing good for being lost *snickering* if we go with this...then the year would start out at 2213.. Cloned blood, I like that... we need a viable reason to keep the masquarade... I like that part of the vampires. We will also have Ricean Vampires here, who don't keep the masquarade but don't flount what they are either...*grins* Same with Lycan...etc |

Brandon, for not getting it all you are doing great!!! These are some WONDERFUL ideas! So much potential!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Okay, Yvonne, spill it What ARE you thinking over there?!?!?!? *grins* 2213 sounds like a good idea...on several levels... So now, before we get too far into the plotting and dragging ch's from other places over here, we need to get a decent tutorial going for Brandon and others who may not be as familiar with this as some of us are who've played/written in these systems. |

The whole SDL crew that I have (with the exception of Cash) is liable to get dragged in here (both Silas and Greyson can be used in the "present" and "past" with the way that I had them originally set up) That should make things a little interesting on the Silas and Greyson front - seeing people they know come and go (and both were the result of an overactive imagination that read to much SF at the time I think). |

Technology does bring up a good point for the weapons for it would seem that if nuclear winter has taken place technology would stand still then would it not? |

Heh, I keep feeling like I might step on toes with these ideas, since I have no background in this stuff. BUT. LOL My vision was the nuclear winter didn't happen. That everything science has said would happen didn't. Sure radiation would be a problem for a while, maybe that is why we need biodomes or somesuch. But I kinda felt the Earth moved out a little, just a little bit away from the sun. Not enough to destroy everything, but enough to really throw a monkey wrench into the works. I know if rotation slowed gravity would be affected, but since this is fiction, lol, we can overlook that happening. Was really looking for a reason for almost perpetual dark. Heck I don't really know if sunlight affects all those different vamps you guys use. LOL If it does, more night would give a lot more freetime for them to be out. Anyone remember Starblazers? The Earth ravaged by metor bombs and everyone living underground? Maybe we have something like that. And too it's roughly 150 years after the war, or whatever we come up with, so everyone has had time to adapt. |

Grannon.... Trust me here... Your ideas are great.... You have a heck of a great start too. Just please don't think that we will jump all over ya on it... I've been playing a vampire for iover four years now and i still don't know everything.... Remember it's better to have fun on a board than to have discord. Like PJ said earlier this is in it's infancy. Ideas are welcome.... And boy howdy do you have some good ones already... |

Thanks guys, just didn't want to be the bull in the china shop. I'm still out of my element, but I think I can make it work. Besides, Davyd's a human mob boss what does he have to know about vamp and lycans, etc... He just knows how to make money and bust heads. LOL |
