Standing in his brother's room again, Kerryn Kali leans against the door lintel, arms crossed expectantly while Talon sits at his desk in his office chair staring at the five monitors he had set up on this occasion.

Kerryn Kali: So... what happened?

Talon shrugs, wishing Kerryn would just drop it and leave him alone. .

Talon Kali: She told me...

Kerryn nods expectantly.

Kerryn Kali: What did she tell you?

Talon shrugs again, trying hard not to just tell his brother to shove things in places not suited for shoving said objects.

Talon Kali: She...just... I don't know...

Kerryn almost laughs, smirking cruelly.

Kerryn Kali: You don't know or you simply do not wish to share this information with your brother deeming him unimportant and unworthy of said information?

Talon shakes his head. It always annoyed the hell out of him that his brother HAD to know everything.

Talon Kali: I don't have to tell you every stupid little thing that's happened, you know?

Kerryn nods ever so slightly.

Kerryn Kali: In deed, you are correct, Talon. I do not require your testimony, I simply thought it a better idea if the information were shared directly from you and was not simply regurgitated from outside sources no matter how credible those sources may be.

Talon looks up almost in shock. His brother had habit of being able to do just this very thing to people. He'd witness Kerryn's abilities when they went to retrieve Lizzbethia's belongings in Toronto and it had been a sight to behold watching him destroy her roommate's confidence by revealing information about her nobody else was supposed to know to the utter astonishment of nearly every person in the room at the time.

Talon Kali: So you know?

Kerryn shrugs almost as if this would be common knowledge.

Kerryn Kali: I am enlightened somewhat, yes.

Talon exhales forcefully.

Talon Kali: She asked me to party with her. She said it would be fun thought she neglected to mention exactly what that entailed.

He raises a hand to stop his brother's mocking rebuke before it even starts.

Talon Kali: Yes, I was aware of certain habits she possessed so I had an idea of what inclinations she might wish to pursue on the evening.

Nodding slightly again, Kerryn purses his lips in disgust.

Kerryn Kali: Did you indulge her?

Talon nods.

Talon Kali: I did.

Talon looks away under his brother's withering glare, both looking like they want to vomit.

Kerryn Kali: Everything?

Talon nods.

Kerryn Kali: Did you at least enjoy it?

Talon pauses for a second. How much did Kerryn really know? Was this a fishing expedition or simply a confession extraction mission?

Talon Kali: Some...

Kerryn nods.

Kerryn Kali: You never were a good liar, Talon.

Talon's chin falls to his chest. Kerryn knew everything...

Talon Kali: Ok, so.. I didn't want it. I wanted her but not what all came with her... just like...

Standing up straight, Kerryn nods in agreement.

Kerryn Kali: Just like Lisa?

Talon closes his eyes. That was a name he'd never wanted to hear again.

Talon Kali: How long have you known?

Kerryn's smirk vanishes.

Kerryn Kali: About Ruby or about Lisa?

Talon swallows hard.

Talon Kali: Both...

Kerryn nods.

Kerryn Kali: I became aware of Ruby's problems the day after our original meeting. It was not a difficult mission to discover her many peculiar habits. Her poor butler can hardly be blamed, his condition after all, makes secret keeping near impossible. Her neighborhood pub was a fascinating place, filled with all manner of ruffian and hungry dog simply aching for a scrap or a coin. Most of them would sell out their mother for a beer and I was able to ascertain within ten minutes that Miss Ruby had a serious alcohol problem. Another ten dollars and fifteen minutes and I was able to learn she entertained herself with thoughts that she was obfuscating her alcoholism better than the others in that establishment despite never leaving the building with the ability to walk straight. In deed, many times she was hardly able to maintain an upright posture, much less ambulate to her conveyance.

He pauses, looking almost sympathetic.

Kerryn Kali: Had it not been for that poor old man's devotion, she would be quite dead by now from her inability to properly operate a motor vehicle.

Talon nods.

Talon Kali: And the other?

Kerryn nods in kind.

Kerryn Kali: That took another day and the promise of a fifth of Johnnie Walker, thankfully of the Red Label variety. I was able to locate her dealer via that bottle and witness her purchasing of her favorite candies on three separate occasions. It appeared to me that she used something virtually every day, possibly every few hours from the amounts she was obtaining at the time.

Talon nods knowingly.

Talon Kali: She wanted a running partner, someone who could keep up with her burning the candle at both ends and up the middle.

Kerryn steps forward, looking suspicious.

Kerryn Kali: And you were unwilling?

Talon nods ashamedly.

Talon Kali: I...

Kerryn shakes his head and puts his hand on his brother's shoulder.

Kerryn Kali: Refusing to become overly intoxicated is not a character flaw, Talon. You have nothing to be ashamed of here. Ruby seems to be hell bent on causing her own destruction and wished me to be her co-pilot on that particular bullet train to hell. When she found I was otherwise occupied, she turned to you and I have no doubt that she genuinely loved you and you her...

Talon nods, still looking ashamed and now a bit hurt too.

Kerryn Kali: As for Lisa, I have been aware of her transgressions since they occurred.

Talon nods, tears forming.

Talon Kali: Is that why?

Kerryn nods and Talon stands to meet him. He hugs his older brother, clutching Kerryn tightly.

Talon Kali: Thank you...

Kerryn nods, patting his brother's back soothingly as he himself sees nothing but red before his eyes.

Kerryn Kali: Of course... I love you, little brother... and your pain will never be forgotten.

Talon nods, his voice nearly leaving him.

Talon Kali: I love you too, Kerr!
