Dear New Era Fans,
Let me lay down some hard truths for you people. Eighty days ago, I walked into New Orleans, came marching like the Saints down to the bayou, and at Fear Itself I stared down Robbie Priest for the World Heavyweight Championship, and we all know how that ended. You knew it was coming, knew it was inevitable, but still you begged and pleaded for a different outcome. You fell to your knees and prayed to whatever ever god you call your own in hopes that he would stop me from winning the World Heavyweight Championship. But all the angels and demons couldn’t stop me from achieving my destiny. That night I made Priest tapout and won my World Heavyweight Championship.
Two weeks later I defeated Wildebeest, the North American Champion, and cemented my place as the top champion in New Era Wrestling. The World Heavyweight Championship was well on its way to being restored to the glory that it deserves. And yet there were still those of you who continued to doubt me, who prayed that my words would be proven wrong.
Twenty-four days ago I entered Hell in a Cell and defended my championship in the Six Pack Challenge. My days were supposed to be numbered. No one had ever successfully defended the World Heavyweight Championship in the Six Pack Challenge, not even your hero, Outkast. And who was I to think myself better than Outkast, to believe I was special. Tombstone was supposed to win. Eric Donavan was supposed to win. But there I was. At the end of the night when everyone else was stretchered out, I was standing alone in the ring just like I said I would. Tombstone ended up in a coma, and I was World Heavyweight Champion.
I am World Heavyweight Champion.
And less than two weeks ago I headed into Hell in a Cell once more. I asked for it. I asked to be put back inside one of the most dangerous structures in wrestling with one of the most dangerous men in New Era history. And then I beat Bombtrack, the man people thought I couldn’t beat. And afterward Eric Donavan tried to attack me. He tried to attack a man who had just literally been through hell. And I hit him with the Sergeant Spinebuster. He tried to get the best of a wounded man, and I still laid him out.
If you people still want to doubt me after all that, I’ve got one more fact for you to look at. Go check the polls. I’m not just heel of the year. I am the wrestler of the year. There is no dispute. I am the World Heavyweight Champion, the wrestler of the year, the best in the company, period.
Now let me tell how 2013 is going to go. I’m going to still be World Heavyweight Champion. I’m not just going to match Nightmare’s record for the longest reigning New Era World Championship reign. I’m not going to beat it. I’m going to absolutely shatter it. Eric Donavan’s not going to stop me. No one you put in front of me after him is going to stop me. Whoever wins the London Brawl won’t take the title from me either. As long as I am here in New Era I will wear this belt around my waist.
Robbie Priest is a capable wrestler. Hell, he’s more than that. He’s a former world champion, but there’s a reason I’ve got the title and he doesn’t. I’ve still got the hunger. I want this more. I need this more. And I promise you that 2013 is going to begin the way 2012 ended, with me standing victoriously in the ring.
Regards, Your World Heavyweight Champion James Stall
