OOC: I'm a lazy bastard but at least I got one up before the 1st RP deadline. Sorry it's short and such though...

Gaining Focus
Victories are not everything. A person can be victorious and still feel as if they are missing something, as if a part of them is empty. Right now I may just be one of those people.
Since my arrival in New Era, it is almost like my focus has been elsewhere and maybe it has been. I am fairly busy outside of New Era with my participation in other federations after all. However, it is not an easy task to be a new member of a federation like New Era Wrestling and can be difficult to fit in.
Maybe that is the problem...
"So about your opponent for the New Era Vindication III pre-show...Reya, are you even listening to me?" My friend Paxar asks as we sit inside of our Manhattan hotel room, my head turned away from her gazing out the nearby window at the Manhattan skyline.
Appearing slightly frustrated, Paxar angrily gives me a little tap to the back of the head which quickly garners my attention. "Ouch!" I shout, turning to face her. "What was that for?"
"Because you weren't listening," Paxar declares, looking a bit irritated. "You need to get your head in the game here and focus. If you don't you might find yourself being a former member of New Era Wrestling."
"I highly doubt that," I reply, shaking my head. "After all, I have won my first two matches in New Era."
"Yeah...against people who were so unfocused it was a shock they made it to the arena," Paxar states sarcastically. "You keep griping and complaining about how it seems like you don't fit in here...well maybe if you stopped staring blankly out of windows and started focusing on your opponents and things going on in New Era that would change. I mean for crying out loud you're not even on the main Vindication show. You're on the pre-show."
"I am still fairly new to New Era," I remind her. "Perhaps they do not feel as if I am ready yet or something."
"Or maybe they're waiting for the Reya Serra they've heard about to finally show up in a New Era ring and do what she does best," Paxar snaps back.
"Perhaps," I mutter softly, lowering my head slightly.
"So do it already," Paxar pleads with me. "Go out there on the Vindication pre-show and beat Ruby Red like I know that you can. Who knows...I've heard rumors that the most impressive person on the pre-show may just be put on the main Vindication show. If you focus and do what you do best you could be that person, Reya."
Looking up, I gaze into the chestnut eyes of my friend and smile weakly. "I will try to focus more," I tell her as I stand up and begin to head out of the hotel room. "That focus also requires more training to defeat this Ruby Red as well. I may as well go and get started."
"That's the spirit, Reya!" Paxar exclaims as she bolts from her seated position. "Let's go."
The two of us then make our way out of our hotel room on our way to train for my important upcoming match...
Fitting in may be difficult, but I will try my best to do so. All I have to do is keep focused and not only will the victories keep coming but that emptiness will be filled as well...
