The screen cuts to white noise and then slowly fades in to Robbie Priest standing alone in what looks like a padded cell. He sees the camera coming in and smiles.
Robbie Priest: Did you smell this one coming? Could you just hear it coming in the air tonight? Could you taste it?
He looks down, almost laughing to himself while singing a little tune.
Robbie Priest: Meet the new boss.... same as the old boss...
The singing stops and he looks up to the camera again.
Robbie Priest: Only, that's not really true... is it? The old boss is apparently gone and not coming back and the new boss...
He glances around, looking in every nook and cranny of the room.
Robbie Priest: Well... is there a new boss? We've heard rumors, innuendo and all categories of he said she said and yet...
He pauses, smirking to himself.
Robbie Priest: Well.. perhaps I should just show you...
The screen cuts to white noise and then slowly fades in to the backstage area at NewTV 49. Priest walks through the backstage area, nodding courteously to various backstage workers before coming upon the big German bad ass, Tombstone, and almost plowing into him.
Robbie Priest: Are you or are you not... the black angel of death arrived on earth?
Tombstone cocks his head inquisitively and Priest grins.
Robbie Priest: Gott weiß ich will kein Engel sein!
Tombstone nods, breaking into a wide smile.
Robbie Priest: How ya doin, Mate? It's been too bloody long!
Tombstone nods as they shake hands. Priest nods forward and walks on, almost bumping into another old friend of his.
Mark Mark Saddington: He speaks English? Priest glances back and smirks, nodding knowingly.
Robbie Priest: Tombstone? Yeah... he's just bloody selective about who he finds worth talking to is all.
Saddington nods and continues on in the direction he had been walking previously. Priest walks down and finally finds the man he was looking for in the Wildebeest. Priest walks right up to the big man and looks up into the angry, questioning eyes.
Robbie Priest: Are you tired of bollocking around?
The Wildebeest looks down at the smaller man, confused and yet intrigued at the same time.
Robbie Priest: You've been here what, five months?
The Wildebeest nods.
Robbie Priest: These people back here should all be worried about you, they should live in constant bloody fear that any one of them could be next... but they don't because they all see, you have not the focus to give them a right proper hiding...
The Wildebeest cocks his head, unable to believe this little man is speaking to him such a manner.
Robbie Priest: Now, you need a direction, I need a partner I can count on... I'm not saying I want to be your bloody leash, I don't fancy being the guy that just points and says, "Kill, dog, kill!" I'm saying, come with me... and let the hunt truly begin and we make everyone here remember who the bloody Wildebeest fucking well is!
The Wildebeest stands there pondering as Priest stares up at him.
Robbie Priest: You want them to fear you, don't you? That smell on the air, the thrill of the hunt? Well, even bloody lions don't hunt alone. You need a pride, a pack, the numbers to bring down any prey. I've led many a man to his destiny. The gods have shown me favor before and with this pack, I could lead you to their favor as well... Just think of the dominance you could have, the strength you could have with more than just the wind at your back? Right now, no one in the back worries about what you could do to them. They've seen that lone animals are easy to outrun but what happens to an antelope when it comes too near the pack? He dodges the first but never sees the second or the third and together, they bring him down and remind the herds that death is always waiting for them. You could have that power. Come with me, Beest... come with me and touch the face of your God as he presents you everything you have ever wanted! Come with me... and take your rightful place as the most feared and dominant creature in the jungle that is NEW!
The Wildebeest thinks on it again and then nods slowly.
Robbie Priest: Alright... let's go, Mate... we've got some bloody planning to do.
The screen cuts to white noise and then slowly back fades in to Robbie Priest standing alone in the padded cell still.
Robbie Priest: That, happened at the last show but you didn't see it, did you?
He shakes his head, laughing at some private joke.
Robbie Priest: No and really, why should anyone be surprised? This company has made sure to look away from me since bloody March! Starrchild and I should have gotten a shot at the Diamonds In The Club then but it was “forgotten” until June when we were told it would happen at the London Brawl. Again, it didn't happen when it was supposed to and now, the Diamonds in the Club have been stripped and are Starrchild and I in the match? Why no... no we're not and we were never going to be for some odd reason and so Starrchild took his leave. He decided he was tired of waiting for something that was never going to happen.
He shrugs as if this is a common occurrence.
Robbie Priest: So, you'd think, if I could just find myself a new partner, I'm still bloody entitled to a title shot, am I not? After all, I was flat out told, “If you can find a new partner in time, you can still get your shot.” But that didn't happen because every name I came up with...
He starts laughing at the comedy of errors that was looking for a partner.
Robbie Priest: First I said, Fred Debonair.. and I was told, “I'm sorry, he's been future endeavoured.” So then I said Tombstone and I was told, “I'm sorry but he has plans.” So then I said Mark Saddington and again I was told, “I'm sorry but he has plans.” It was almost as if some divine force was trying to keep me away. So I went looking for some equal force, some dynamic freak of nature that couldn't be stopped any longer and when I found him I was told, “Ok, you'll be on the pre-show together.”
He looks down, shaking his head again.
Robbie Priest: The bloody pre-show...
He looks away for a second, annoyance creeping into his voice.
Robbie Priest: It's bad enough to have to come to work every day wondering if this will be the last day the company is open for business because nobody really knows whose Kool-Aid we're to be drinking, but to not even get to drink...
He looks up, a searing cold anger in his eyes.
Robbie Priest: The Wildebeest and I are going to be a bloody team now whether any of you like it or not. You can all go on and keep overlooking us, God knows I'm used to it by now. Keep on thinking that we're just the pre-show because eventually, you will start to notice that it's not just me anymore. It's not just one lone wolf making some impotent noise in the background. Now... there's a pack of us coming kicking up a storm none of you ever seem to see coming. We're just the start and when we're done taking what is ours, you're all gonna wish you'd listened more carefully. The pack is growing and soon we'll all be standing before you saying, “Welcome to the jungle... it gets worse here every day and you better learn to like the smell. Enjoy the taste of all the shit they feed you because eventually, that's all there is left to feed on. This is our jungle... run with the pack... nose to the wind... or wait for the Beest to pull you down.”
