The scene opens in downtown New York, at Madison Square Garden. The air is filled with smog from heavily pollution, and the sidewalks are filled with scurrying individuals, trying to get where they need to be. The sound of screeching breaks, and irate motorist are also heard echoing off shops and skyscrapers. The streets are mostly filled with bright yellow taxis, which are weaving in and out of traffic, trying to earn a bigger tip. As the camera zooms in to the front of Madison Square Garden, Erickson is seen sitting on the third step, dressed in jeans, and a Diamonds in the Club t-shirt. With Vindication only a few days away, the sidewalk is mostly filled with business men dressed in dress clothes, tourists dressed in the original “I <3 New York” shirt, or fans of NEW, who are wearing merchandise from their favorite superstar. The camera zooms in on Erickson, who is holding a Sports Illustrated magazine to his face, trying to hide his identify from the passing tourists. He mumbles to himself:
“Got dammit Cam, where are you?”
Erickson flips the page in the magazine, and notices an article on James Stall. His picture taking up almost a full page. Erickson starts to read the article, but inserts his own words.
“James Stall is a fucking bitch. He is wrestling for the North American Bitch championship, and he is predicted to walk out of Vindication the biggest bitch ever.”
Erickson skips a few paragraphs, and gets to the part of Stall’s biography.
“James Stall grew up in Bitchville, where he grew up on a farm, and had sex with sheep. He has never had a girlfriend, and likes to be tea bagged. His interest include, gay sex, being a bitch, and of course, being Jimmy Helmsley’s bitch. Did I mention he was a bitch?”
Erickson has had enough waiting around, and pulls out his cell phone and dials a number on the keypad, and holds it up to his hear as it rings. The other line picks up..
RAW: “Hey bud.”
“Cam, where are you? We were supposed to cut a promo together almost an hour ago.”
RAW: “I know, I know. This New York City traffic is no joke. We’re almost there, give us a few minutes.”
“Wait, we’re? us? Who are you with?”
Before Cam can answer the question, the line is hung up.
“This mother fucker, wait till he fucking gets here.”
A few short moments later, RAW is seen coming from around the corner of the building, walking up to the stairs leading to Madison Square Garden. Raw is sporting Diamonds in the Club attire, and the World Heavyweight Championship belt resting on his shoulder. Erickson looks past Cam and notices Romeo Styles and T-Lo following closely behind, talking to each other and snickering. Erickson stands up, shakes his head in disbelief as the crew joins Erickson at the bottom of the stairs. Romeo is dressed in nice jeans, and a button up polo, with dark designer shades. T-Lo is dressed in ripped jeans, and a t-shirt. She is also carrying a bottle in a brown paper bag which she takes a few sips of, and then offers to share with the crew but everyone declines. T-Lo takes a few more good chugs, and then stumbles forward, chuckling.
“Cam, may I have a word with you?”
RAW: “Sure bud.”
Erickson and Raw take a few steps away from the other two, and Erickson speaks softly.
“Cam, what the fuck are you thinking?”
RAW: “What do you mean?”
Erickson points to Romeo and T-Lo. As Cam turns around he sees T-Lo bent over throwing up on the side of the street, and Romeo holding her so she doesn’t fall into her own vomit.
RAW: “You mean Romeo and T-Lo? They are our new stable mates. Diamonds in the Club is finally at the top again. I told you I would get us there, did I not?”
“You brought us back to the top by joining forces with them? For heaven’s sake Cam, you brought in an alcoholic who is also a little thief, and a guy who is against everything we are about.”
RAW: “T-Lo might have a small drinking problem, but I assure you when she sobers up, she is the real deal in the ring, just like she is in the bar. You have to realize that teammates not only have to get along in the ring, but on the outside as well, and we both know T-Lo has the same interests as us: kicking ass, drinking, clubbing, and sex.”
“I can’t argue with you there, I do like those things, especially in that order. Sounds like my plan at Vindication. But, Romeo Stylez? What were you thinking?”
RAW: “Jack, we are trying to put together the best stable we can, and after Romeo not only beat me, he beat you just last week. That is saying something. Romeo will be a champion in no time, and having someone with that much skill watching our backs, is a god send. He might be Mr. Nice guy of the group, but that is okay, every group needs one, but you can’t let that get in the way of us working together to accomplish a common goal.”
“And what goal is that?”
RAW: “To take down the opposing stables, and regain our spot at the top of NEWera.”
“I guess you’re right, but if they turn out like the old members of DiTC, we might as well just handle business ourselves.”
RAW: “I agree, but this is a numbers game, and we just evened up the playing field. Let’s go cut that promo.”
The newly formed Diamonds in the Club make their way into Madison Square Garden and make their way to the arena where they all will be putting their bodies on the line. Workers are in the process of changing the Garden from a basketball court to a wrestling arena.
Romeo Stylez: “This is a one in a life time opportunity guys. Wrestling under the lights of Madison Square Garden, every athlete’s dream. Razzle Dazzle.”
RAW: “There’s going to be so many eyes on us. Let’s show everyone why Diamonds in the Club is still the top stable in NEW.”
“Come on guys, we have to get backstage. Thumper is waiting for us.”
The crew heads backstage where Thumper is standing in a suit, with a camera set up across from him. There is a Vindication banner set up in the background. Thumper is on the phone as DiTC walks up. They catch the end of his conversation.
Thumper: “They are finally here.. Yeah, T-Lo is still drunk. I gotta go. I’ll call you hater.”
Thumper hangs up the phone and puts it into the pocket of his suit jacket. Thumper: “About time you guys got here. You guys are over an hour late. I’m a very busy person. You’re lucky I didn’t just leave.”
“Blame the new guys.”
Thumper: “Team chemistry already a problem in the club? Let’s get started.”
The group takes their place in front of the camera as Thumper starts the interview promo.
Thumper: “First question, last week you guys added not one, but two members to Diamonds in the Club. What went into your decision? Why did you pick the T-Lo and Razzle Dazzle?”
Erickson mumbles something under his breath, but it is unheard by the camera, Raw takes the lead on the question.
RAW: “Well, when we first lost the likes of Doc Holiday and Raymond Hughes, we thought we were still the team to mess with. Hell, Diamonds in the Club was supposed to be just Jack and I anyway. But when new stables started forming, we knew we were out manned, and if we wanted to stay at the top of NEWera, we would need more members to go against Jimmy and Bombtrack’s teams. Now that we have evened the playing field, we believe we are back where we left off, the best stable ever to be formed in NEW. Picking the new members wasn’t as hard as you would think. T-Lo actually came to us, Erickson found her outside of a club, and we’ve been watching her ever since. Let me tell you, not only does she have skills in the ring, but she’s not to bad on the dance floor either.”
Erickson mumbles again: “Jacket stealer.” T-Lo glares at him, and then smirks.
RAW: “I have always been a fan of Romeo Stylez. I believe he has the skills and the mindset that it takes to go far in this industry. When he beat Jack and I in back-to-back weeks, I knew he was the right man for the job. We all share the same respect for each other, and we all have a common goal; to be the best, and to be a champion. Erickson described it best a few months ago. It is a gold rush.”
Thumper: “Speaking of a gold rush, two of you are wrestling for gold in a few days, and Jack is wrestling to be the #1 Contender for the North American Title. If the Diamonds in the Club can make a clean sweep at Vindication, they will undoubtedly be at the top, but not many people believe that it can be done. Thoughts?”
Erickson steps in front of the group.
“Who doesn’t think it can be done? They are obviously foolish fans. Vindication is a big night for Diamonds in the Club, and we are looking to make the most of it, even if people believe the odds are against us. I personally think we have a great shot to walk out with two titles, and a number one contendership. RAW is facing Spencer Riggs, a nobody, who got lucky enough to win the London Brawl. Spencer Riggs doesn’t have what it takes to be World Champion, he has no swag like our current champion, Randy. Hell, the man looks like he belongs in a nursing home. I thought NEW had an automatic retiring age? How did he bypass that? Raw has proving that he is a great champion, he defend his title not only in a battle royal, but he also ended Doc Holiday’s career to earn it the title back.”
Erickson takes a break and looks back at RAW, nodding his head. He then looks over to TSO, who is grinning from ear to ear, knowing it is his turn to get complimented.
“Then we will have The Sensational One himself taking on James Stall for the vacant North American title. Now, I really don’t care who wins this match, because I will be becoming the #1 contender, and brining the title to its rightful home. But, I do hate Stall, because he is a bitch, and since Romeo is now a member of DiTC, I wish him the best of luck. I believe I have what it takes to beat which ever man wins the title at Vindication, and I showed that in these past few weeks where I had two close matches, where I pushed both men to their limits. Yes, I did lose to both men, but I have learned from mistakes, and I am confident I will be able to beat whoever walks out of Vindication, North American Champion.”
Thumper stops Erickson in his tracks.
Thumper: “Before you even think about facing either Stall or Romeo for the North American Championship, you have to beat the monster Disturbed. You both have been attacking each other for the past month. How do you think you will be able to bring the monster down, and become the #1 contender?”
“That’s the easy part Thumper, I finally have Disturbed in the ring where I can break the monster down. In the past month, he has only been able to attack me from behind. If you don’t remember why I started the assault on Disturbed a few weeks ago, I did it because I was tired of everyone talking about how I could never hold up in the ring by myself, and that even though I was the best tag-team wrestler in NEW history, I would not be able to last in a singles career. That’s a bunch of bullshit, and I am here to prove that I am not just a great tag-team wrestler, but a great wrestler overall, and what better way to show that than taking down the monster himself? Once I take down the monster, I will take down the reigning North American Champion, and add another championship belt to my collection.”
Thumper: “But how can you be so sure that you will be able to beat the monster?”
Erickson points off camera to Betsy who is leaning against the wall.
“I have back-up, and Disturbed has nothing. Diamonds in the Club will be pulling out a clean sweep at Vindication, and T-Lo will get us started off with a win at the preshow.”
Thumper shakes his head in agreement and turns to the camera.
Thumper: “You heard it here first ladies and gentlemen. Diamonds in the Club is back, and bigger than ever. Their plan is to leave Vindication with a clean sweep, and the top two most prestigious titles in NEW.”
The scene fades as the group thanks Thumper for the airtime, and they all go their separate ways.
----
The scene reopens outside of the Diamonds in the Club locker room. We join Erickson sitting in the locker room with Betsy, watching tapes of Disturbed’s old matches. Suddenly, a knock is heard at the door, and Erickson springs up. He walks to the door, unsure who it could be. He swings the door open to see a stagehand standing there with a box wrapped in wrapping paper, topped off with a bow.
Stagehand: “This is from James Stall, sir.”
The stagehand hands Erickson the present and walks off down the hall. Erickson takes the present inside and shuts the door behind him. He heads back to where he was sitting before and stares at the package, afraid to open it. “Why would Stall give me a present? Maybe he isn’t as big of a bitch as I thought….Nahhhh, who am I kidding?”
Erickson rips off the bow and wrapping paper to reveal a wooden box. He slowly lifts the lid of the box and gasps and slams the lid shut.
“Oh dear.”
Erickson looks over to Betsy and gives a fake smile and laugh. He then runs over to the other side of the room, out of the sight of Betsy and opens up the box again, this time taking out the present: Erickson’s old gat, a cap gun that Erickson use to carry around, scaring people half to death.
“Veronica?! How did he find you? I thought I had lost you forever.”
Erickson smiles, and looks around the corner at Betsy, and then at Veronica, and then back at Betsy. Erickson sighs, and then places the gun back into the wooden box and hides it in his duffle bag. Erickson rejoins Besty in front of the television. He looks over at Betsy.
“It was nothing. Just a little gag gift to get my mind off my match. He’s such a bitch.”
The scene fades as Betsy and Erickson continue to watch highlights of Disturbed’s matches, but Erickson’s mind is clearly on Veronica.
