At a hospital in Nagano, Japan
One week ago.

Zoe was quiet as she sat at the bedside of Silver Electro. Her elbows were resting on her knees and her hands were clasped together as she rested her chin on them. She could feel Kise’s presence behind her but she wasn’t paying much attention to him at the moment. If you’d asked him about it, he would probably say he couldn’t blame Zoe for feeling the way she did. To say that the young woman was in a world of pain would be an understatement. She hadn’t been much like herself since the events that happened after NEW Generation 11. On that note, she hadn’t slept much either. Nightmares had been plaguing her dreams for a few days now. All she could picture was Silver being pushed into oncoming traffic by Hughes and Erickson. She could remember the shocked reaction of the Japanese crowd inside that arena. You could literally hear a pin drop it was so quiet. Zoe couldn’t even look. All she could do was cry her eyes out in the middle of that ring and turn away. She couldn’t look at it. The two weren’t a couple, but she considered Silver to be someone of importance to her. A friend, a person she could confide in. He meant a lot to her in more ways than one. And those actions could be construed as her having a little bit of a crush on him.

She would never tell.

Her eyes shut as she started flashing back again. She had been doing that a lot too. Shutting her eyes she could see everything in vivid detail.

Kise turned around after shaking himself out of his stunned silence, after seeing his own brother get pushed into traffic like that by those two. He went over to Zoe and walked around to her front, pulling her to her feet slowly as she held her face in her hands, sobbing like crazy.

“Come on, we gotta go! We gotta go now, I’m not leaving him out there alone. Let’s go.”

She knew she looked like a mess but she looked up into his dark eyes, fearful as were her own and nodded her head as she grabbed both titles and climbed out of the ring with him, making a mad dash up the ring as the rest of the audience looked on as the two of them disappeared backstage. They weren’t going to let him go anywhere without the two of them. Zoe was going to sit on top of the ambulance if they didn’t have any room. She was going with him come hell or high water. Crowds parted as they made their way outside, ambulance workers stabilizing him and loading him onto the stretcher. One of the attendants looked at the two of them and motioned for them to follow and get inside.

And so the ambulance sped off into the night with the three of them inside.

Zoe opened her eyes again, albeit a bit glassy as she could hear the two of them conversing quietly, leaving Zoe to her own thoughts. His injuries had been great and too numerous to even begin to list. Cuts, bruises, internal injuries, broken bones, etc, you get the idea. He was recovering in Nagano at the moment and would continue to do so until medically cleared to leave. When that would be, neither Kise nor Zoe knew the answer. But the one thought that did cross her mind was that Hughes and Erickson were going to pay deeply for what they had done to Silver.

I feel a sense of guilt for being the one to tell those two to let him go. I might as well have been the one pushing that wheel chair along with them. They’ve told me not to feel like this, but…I can’t help it. I wonder sometimes if I hadn’t said that, or just said something different, would they still have pushed him anyway? God only knows what they would have done. What sick bastards do you have to be anyway to push a grown man, injured still into traffic knowing full well what you were doing? It could have been a lot worse, but thankfully it wasn’t.

I haven’t slept well in the past few days. I’ve had nightmares where I keep reliving it over and over, sometimes I’m the one pushing and I can see the guilty look on his face asking why, why, why over and over. And then I wake up in the middle of it screaming before I realize where I am and that I’m not out there. I hope I didn’t cause anyone to worry. They probably thought I was getting murdered. I really wasn’t I swear. It’s just the pent up thoughts of a woman in turmoil.

I can feel their eyes on me again. They keep looking at me and I can see the worry in their faces. Oh god are they talking to me? I’ve been so caught up in my own thoughts that I haven’t been paying attention at all! Ok now I feel like an idiot. Way to go Zoe.

She blinked her eyes and cautiously swung her eyes and her head back towards Kise who just offered her a silly sympathetic grin then to Silver who just smiled at her.

“You gotta quit doing that Zoe. You look like a zombie when you do that.” Kise said, nudging her in the shoulder.

”I’m sorry, I swear when I start doing it again, I’ll walk around just chanting ‘brains…brains’ if that’ll make you feel better.”

“Nah, it’ll just make me want to shake you out of it even more. It’s like I told ya, Zoe. Not much you can do about Silver here. He’s gotta recover and take it easy, keep on doin’ what he needs to to come back. And you and I gotta catch our way out to Yokohama, ya know. There’s a couple of people that need our…undivided attention. You hear me?”

Zoe smiled a little, nodding her head. They had overstayed their welcome here. It was time to head on out and leave Silver to his recovery. Not much they could do to speed it along but be supportive and that was about it. She slowly got out of her chair and stretched out her limbs, groaning as she heard about five thousand things go pop and snap all at once.

Wow, I just felt like a bowl of Rice Krispies just then. That reminds me to get something to eat when I get to Yokohama here. And it’s not going to be cereal.

”Later Silver, try not to get into too much trouble while you’re here.” She said with a grin, waving from the doorway.

“Like hitting on the pretty nurses here?” Kise said, following her out and Zoe just shook her head.

”Next time on ‘Keeping up with the Kazamas’, Silver gets married to a Japanese nurse.”

A pair of laughs echoed down the hallway as the scene slowly fades away.

Baikotei
Yokohama, Japan

Zoe pushed the sushi around her plate, glancing at it a bit suspiciously before picking it up and taking a bite of it, humming happily as the taste seemed to satisfy her to no end. Coming here was worth the trouble, she thought quietly as she glanced at her open laptop, watching the latest news from TMZ.com. Of course what was put on TMZ.com was quickly spread through other wrestling news outfits and NEWera’s own website. That boy just couldn’t keep himself out of trouble could he? Going and attacking a fan like that was just outright ridiculous, all because they couldn’t answer one simple question.

A couple of girls came up to the table that she was sitting at, smiling and giggling as they held out t-shirts for her to sign.

“We believe in Zoe!” The one said, her Japanese accent thick. Zoe smiled at her, signing the shirt for her quickly along with her friend’s and took pictures with them. She’d been getting that the whole time she had been here and it didn’t bother her one bet. The attention that the Silver Dragons had been getting for the past several months had been a phenomenal thing. But what had been happening with DitC and all of the mess they had been bringing had been overshadowing most of everything. Then there was the attack on Silver Electro and that was the biggest news yet. No one was sure of his outcome and to be honest, she wasn’t sure where this was going either. She had Raymond Hughes to battle tonight and for one, she was looking forward to it.

She reached out to her laptop and opened up her webcam, hitting the record button, letting the backdrop of Baikotei be her background noise.

”Alright, look Hughes, I’m going to make this painfully short so even your tiny ass little head can comprehend this. Are you listening? Look directly at me Hughes, cause I’m talking to you. I don’t know what’s going through your head at the moment but attacking a fan? Just to get information? If you wanted to know anything about me, then come and ask. Or maybe try google, or maybe not. Just come ask me, and if I’m feeling in a good mood I might give you an answer. Or I might just kick you in the side of the head and knock you out.

If you don’t know who I am by now then you’ve been living in a closet for the past several months. Let me make it abundantly clear to you who I am. I am the Supernova, Zoe McDraven. I am one half of the tag team champions and one half of the Silver Dragons. Oh and have you heard of that ‘I believe in Zoe’ tagline? Yeah that’s me, that’s who I am.

Believing in me is believing in what I can do, and what I do for this company. People respect me, they respect the Dragons, unlike you and your little rag tag DitC. That’s what that stands for, believing in Zoe is believing in a champion that isn’t going to steer the rest of the crowd wrong. People like that. Fans all over the world recognize that. I came up with that because it was a positive thing. Maybe you should talk to some of the people inside of the roster about that. There’s a few believers lurking among them. What have you done but cause trouble and destruction everywhere you go. That’s what you’ve done. ‘I’m Raymond Hughes and I push people into traffic and beat up innocent fans because they don’t do what I tell them.’

Wow bravo Hughes, you just made yourself into an even bigger asshole then you are now.

Then you pushed Silver into oncoming traffic with Erickson and made yourselves the target of a lot of people. A lot of people. Because of you two you may have cost him his career. I hope your proud of yourselves.

But there’s one thing that I know. When I get in there, there’s going to be no escape. No running, no help, no salvation.

It’s time to pay the piper for your sins.”
