i'm a little bitch

The scene opens inside a gym that James Stall has rented out for the day near his hotel in Montreal. He is shirtless and working at the bench press. Presumably Adam Foulds is filming him as every once in a while the camera falters showing it is clearly not on a tripod. Stall finishes two more reps and places the weight back in place. He sits up and looks at the camera. His sweat covered muscles ripple as he breathes deeply, slowly, and steadily.

“Do you know what’s great about facing five other opponents? That’s five people I can send to the hospital. That’s five careers I can end. That’s five chances to prove that I am every bit as good as I say I am. Five chances to humiliate people on my way to winning the Television Championship match in my first title opportunity.”

James leans forward resting his right elbow on his knee and his head on his fist.

“And do you know what’s great about the Endurance Challenge specifically? You have to score five points to win. That’s five pinfalls or submissions. That means I don’t have to settle for picking one opponent to demolish. I can take my time and spread the love around. I can physically disable and crush every one of my five opponents. What an amazing opportunity. That’s five people I might make tapout, or five people I might knockout and then pin with my boot on their chests.”

James straightens up suddenly.

“Of course five people also gives me plenty to talk about.”

James strokes his chin and looks up toward the ceiling for a moment as he thinks about who to talk about first. He points and looks at the camera when he decides.

“Misty Lyn I’m going to start things off with you. You’re arguably the opponent in this match that I have the most history with, and yet you seem to be the one who has the least to say about me. It’s an interesting if confusing dichotomy. But that’s okay. I’ll tell you something about myself. This is the story of the first time Kayla Jade asked me to do some blow with her. I’m sure it’s not nearly as exciting as your first time. Did you do it off her ass or her tits? I can’t remember. Anyway, I’ll try not to bore you too much.”

James lean forward again. His right hand is on his right knee, and his left elbow is resting on his other leg. His left palm faced up toward the ceiling.

“It was about an hour or so after Vindication. We were both hurting after our respective matches, me physically her emotionally. Basically I thought I had a good chance of getting laid that night. Don’t worry. I didn’t, but that’s not the point of the story. So our hotel rooms were near each other and like I said I thought I’d be able to talk my way into at least a handy so I stopped by with a bottle of Jack and a couple glasses.”

James waves both his hands and chuckles.

“Of course, she was already quite high by this point, but I didn’t much care. I figured it mean getting laid would be easier. So I limped on inside, and Kayla and I started knocking back shots of Jack like it was nothing. At one point I tried moving her hands in a certain direction. Got a real hard sock to the face for that one. Knocked me right off the couch we were sitting on. So I guess you should be happy to know she had some fight in her right to the very end.”

James looks down and points both hands at the ground in a triangle. His shoulders tense up.

“Then she starts talking about you, and how bad she feels, not just because of losing her match with you, but because of the way she had treated you, blah blah blah, and she wished things had gone differently with Rory, and the bitch was getting all blubbery. I don’t do blubbery bitches. So I grabbed the half bottle of Jack that was left and the two glasses and started to leave. Then she asked me if I wanted some blow.”

James snaps his head back up. A smirk appears starting from the right corner of his mouth.

“Admittedly I had heard her wrong initially and gotten very excited. Then she pulled out the cocaine, and I took two backwards steps toward the door. Cocaine isn’t my bag. I love pot as much as the next guy, but I’m not into the hard stuff. I know what that shit does to people. So she asks me if I want to snort some. I ask if that’s really just cocaine. She says she cut it with some PCP. I said she’s a crazy bitch and got the fuck out of there.”

James slowly rises from his bench and takes two steps to the left as the camera tracks him. He turns back toward the camera and points at it.

“The point is, I could have stopped her. In her condition I could have easily restrained her even with my leg in the shape that it was that night. I could have gotten her to the help she needed. Hell, I have Travis Blaine on speed dial. All it would have taken was one push of a button to let him know what was going on. But I decided not to do any of that. I decided not to get Kayla Jade any help even though I saw the shape she was in. And do you know why?”

Stall places his right hand over his heart.

“Because I was bitter. Because your boyfriend and his brother had injured me that night. Hell, my knee still tells me when it’s gonna rain. So I looked at that mess, and I thought about them, and about you. I thought. Man, if she dies tonight that should really fuck with those assholes. So I rolled the dice, let the cards fall where they may, all that jazz.”

James’ smirk disappears as he glares at the camera. He takes step forward. As he speaks the tone of his voice raises.

“Do you know why I’m absolutely going to wreck you at Challenger Series Misty? It’s because I’m still bitter.”
James puffs his chest outward and beats on it with both hands at the same time.

“I’m a mother fucking Volcano!”

James takes another step toward the camera. His face has grown a shade of red. His hand sinks to the knee that Riot Injured at Vindication.

“Believe me. If the Hood Rats let me I would take a piss in Kayla Jade’s ashes if it would get a rise out of you fuckers. But they get the Bad Boys, and I get you. That’s fine. I can deal with that. You all say the same shit anyway so you might as well be the same person. I’m gonna cunt punt you so hard you won’t have to worry about having your period again. I’m going to fuck up your leg so badly it’ll make the surgery your boyfriend had to have because of me look like nothing. And your tits- can I rip tits off? Is that even physically possible? At the very least I’ll settle for caving in a few ribs.”

James turns his back toward the camera. He takes two deep breathes and regains his composure. With his head down and his back still turned toward the camera he speaks as calmly as ever.

“I’m going to leave you a broken mess in that ring choking on your own blood as I make you tap out to the Captain Clutch. If you ever regain the ability to talk after I break your jaw I’m sure you’ll have plenty to say about me then.”

James walks toward the bench. He turns around and speaks as he sits back down.

“One down. Four more to go.”

James pauses to think for a moment.

“Next I’ll do… Iron Heart.”

James points both index fingers at the camera.

“Listen here Care Bear. I’m going to kicks your ass so hard you’re gonna shit rainbows out your dick. I’ll break both your legs so they’ll have to carry you back to the magical cotton candy land of Care-A-Lot. I’m gonna shatter your jaw just for making me spend so much time on Google to make that reference happen. I’ll rip off both your arms so the only battle tactics you’ll have left will be hoping, bleeding on people, and trying to win us over with the power of friendship. Why don’t you do yourself a favor? Hop on your my little pony, and ride the fuck out of town cause you’re messing with the Thundercats Ho.”

James tone shifts as he focuses on the things Iron Heart has said about him and his grandfather. His shoulders rise. His breathing becomes shallower.

“What the fuck made you think you know anything about me? About my family? “

Stall struggles to contain himself. He shifts on the bench.

“You….”

James practically jumps to his feet. He steps to the right as his breathing becomes more rapid.

“You….”

Stall violently spins toward the camera.

“FINE! You want me to say you’ve gotten to me? You have. You want me to admit you were right about some of the things you’ve said. I can do that. After all I’m the last honest man in NEW. You know what doesn’t exactly smack of honesty? The idea of wearing a mask. “

James turns back away from the camera and begins to walk toward a set of free weights.

“But yes, my entire career I’ve been fighting a shadow. I’ll probably always be fighting that same shadow. But I can’t punch a shadow. Do you know who I can punch? You. And believe me I’m going to punch the shit out of you. You’re going to drown in the pool of blood that’s going to collect inside that mask.”

James gets to the set of free weights, and looks at himself in a nearby full length mirror. The camera is over James’ shoulder and sees him talking at the mirror.

“I’ll never be the same person as my Grandfather. Do you know why? I’m better. I do things in that ring that my Grandfather would never dream of doing. The way I go after people, the way I hurt them, my Grandfather would never think to do that. I set out to destroy people in ways that he couldn’t even imagine.”

James picks up twenty pound free weight. He begins to work with in using his right arm as he turns his head back toward the camera.

“But I’ve yet to win a singles title. So when I get into that ring I’m going to be a starving tiger. I’m a lion ready to take over the pride, but I don’t have the alpha Lion to take down. Instead I have the likes of you. So I’m going to maul you in that ring. I’m going to tear you to shreds with my bare hands, and when the crowd sees the way I decimate you they will forget all about comparing me to Joe Stall.”

James Stall suddenly tosses the weight at the mirror causing it to shatter. He picks up a second twenty pound weight and chucks it across the room. He picks up a thirty pound weight and sends it across the room as well.

“After the Challenger Series they’ll throw out their rulers because they’ll realize my FURY and the CARNAGE that I leave behind CANNOT BE MEASURED!”

James begins to throw whatever he can get his hands on and tossing it. The camera shakes as Adam is forced to jump over and errantly thrown thirty pound dumbbell. James begins to roar at the top of his lungs as he points at the camera and pound his chest.

“I WILL FUCKING END YOU! DO YOU HEAR ME YOU MASKED WEARING CUNT! YOU’VE RUN YOUR MOUTH PLENTY AND OPENED MY EYES. NOW I’M GOING TO SHOW YOU WHAT HAPPENS WHEN I COME INTO MY OWN. IF I HAVE TO I WILL BREAK EVERY SINGLE FUCKING BONE IN YOUR BODY TO PROVE THAT I AM EVERY BIT AS DANGEROUS AS I SAY I AM. IAM EVERY BIT AS DANGEROUS AS PEOPLE THINK I AM!”

James topples over what is left of the rack of free weights and turns back toward the camera. He looks toward the ground and begins to slow his breathing. The color in his face slowly returns to normal.

“Two down.”

He slowly brings his head up to face the camera again.

“Jason Matthews, I’d like to take a moment to talk to you about a little something called gimmick infringement. Did you think you were funny? Did you think you were clever, breaking Ross Raines’ neck?”

Stall begins to stalk toward the camera.

“I had that fucker run out of town. I had him softened up. I loosened him like the lid on a new jar of tomato sauce. And then you come along and pick up the scraps? Do you think you should get credit for that? Let me tell you something. Ross Raines’ career ended when I beat him at Fear Itself. He was already to retire before someone talked him into coming back for one last match. He was resigned to going back to being a nobody after the way I humiliated him.”

Stall points one finger at the camera and yells.

“The man was broken long before you got your hands on him!”

James takes a deep breath and begins to walk back toward the bench press. He keeps his head turned toward the camera.
“But now, you’ve gone and put a blemish on what was one of the shining moments of my career. You’ve tainted it, ruined it, and now there’s only one thing for me to do. I have to break your neck in return.”

James turns and faces the camera with his whole body. He holds up both hands in stop position.

“And I know, it sounds like a terrible cliché. But I don’t make the rules kid. I just enforce them with extreme prejudice.”

James takes a step toward the camera with his head tilted.

“Do you want to know why no one else takes you seriously in this match? It’s because you haven’t given them a reason to yet. Don’t over hype yourself because of two matches. The fact is they don’t have any sort of personal connection to you. I do. And that’s bad. I’m not the guy you want to have a personal connection with. See, the others might not have reason to beat you to a pulp, but I’ve got plenty. So while they’re busy with other people. I’ll be able to get plenty of punches in on you. And my punches break ribs.”

James throws two jabs in the direction of the camera and smiles.

“By the way, if you’re going to get on everyone else for lack of originality try not to come out and say the same shit that every fresh faced rookie does when they want to portray themselves as the underdog. You think calling us all out at once scares us? It doesn’t. The honest truth is you’re not even Underdog you’re shoe shine boy. But that doesn’t make a difference to me. I’ll treat you as if you were world champion. All bones break. That’s what matters.”

James looks up at the ceiling and mentally counts how many opponents he has talked about.

“Two left.”

This time James knows exactly who he’s going to talk about because he knows exactly who he’s going to save for last. He smiles broadly.

“Mikey Miller, I heard you used to pose as a superhero. That’s fitting. You’ve got that classic Marvel name like Peter Parker, Bruce Banner, Reed Richards, or Sue Storm. I bet you had fun. You were probably pretty good at it too. But you’ve always been a real good poser haven’t you Mikey? You’ve posed as a superhero. You’ve posed as a white supremacist. You’ve even managed to pose as a serious contender to the Television Championship.”

James looks toward the ceiling and shrugs his shoulders.

“And I suppose you got to pose as champion at some point didn’t you Mikey? You were British Commonwealth Champion. Of course I haven’t heard much talk about that title lately. Must be because no one really cares about it. No one takes it seriously. So I guess you were champion, but you must not have been a great one. You certainly weren’t someone who could take a title and elevate it to the next level. That must have been very disappointing when you realized that.”

James looks back toward the camera. He steps toward it with a look of mock concern on his face.

“Maybe that’s why I hear you’re suicidal. Of course you could just be posing again Mikey. This could all just be a bid for some cheap sympathy. I’ll help you out with that Mikey. The ladies love to feel for guys with broken limbs. You can pose with your new arm or leg cast with the fans. Although be careful because pain killers can be very addicting. Just ask Kayla Jade. I’ll find you a Ouija board. Things might not end up well for you. But hey maybe Iron Heart can be there when you’re on that ledge to tell you to jump. He’ll have to teletype it when I’m done with him, but that should suffice.”

James turns around.

“And then there was one.”

He walks over to the bench and turns back toward the camera.

“The Champ-peen.”

James drops onto the bench.

“Doc, you’ve been nice enough to actually show me some respect going into this match. It’s funny sometimes I think we might actually be the good guys. Then I remember how much I love sending people to the hospital. So when you wake up there after Challenger Series, remember, it’s not because I don’t respect you. It’s because you’re the champ, and sending you to the hospital will look real impressive on my resume.”

James nods his head as he points a finger at the camera.

“You’re a talented athlete Doc Holiday. You are without a doubt the toughest competition I’ll be facing in this match. Unlike Miller you have not been a paper champion. You and Matt Starr elevated that title to a place of respect it had previously never known. And I will be honored to take it from you.”

Stall stretches out both arms toward the camera.

“Let’s be honest here Doc. We’re the people in this match that the fans are really paying to see. If you polled them and asked which two wrestlers in this match they’d like to see go at it one on one they’d pick the two of us. If they were asked who’d they’d like to see face you for the title the most it would be me.”

James points his right hand toward his heart and his left index finger at the camera.

“We’re the stars Doc. We’re the up and comers, the people to watch. This is the first taste that the audience is going to get of what will surely become and amazing feud at some point. This is the first of many battles well will have together. One of these days we will go to war Doc Holiday, and this is the opening skirmish.”

He shrugs again.

“I just hope the coma I put you in doesn’t last too long and fuck it all up.”

James lies back down on the bench and begins to bench press again. His rhythm is slow and steady as the camera fades out.
