Ivan is seen sitting inside of an empty ring. He's in his wrestling attire, sweaty and exhausted. He's not inside of any arena, he's inside a local gym. There are a few guys working out in the back, some who like Ivan are fine tuning their in ring skills as a competitive wrestler, and others just working on sculpting the perfect body. The camera zooms in on Ivan, as he just sits there in the ring by himself. Ivan "Lies and slander. There are those who try to tarnish the name Gurlukovich." Ivan is speaking of the rumors and speculation of why he was removed from the Endurance Challenge at The Challenger Series. The most accepted answer is that Ivan had violated the wellness policy. Ivan is large, powerful, and it isn't uncommon to see him take out his rage on his opponent. It's understandable why some would jump to this conclusion.
Ivan "I am an animal, a predator. I crush those who stand in front of me, I earned a shot at the television title. But with no warning, and no reason, that opportunity has been taken from me." It would appear not only did NEW not clarify their reason with the audience, but even Ivan himself was given no reason for being removed from such an important match. Ivan "In the time to come, I expect the lies to spread. The guys who run this company, Mr. Blaine and Mr. Queens, they have their own personal agenda. They have their reasons for removing me from this match. But what they say, the rumors buzzing around the lockerooms, they are just a cover up." Ivan glares into the camera, as if he were trying to stare a hole into the heart and soul of New Era's management team. Ivan "Contrary to popular belief, I am not a fool. I understand your interests in this company. New Era Wrestling is entertainment first, and a competitive sport second. But I am no sport entertainer, I am a professional athlete. This is why I was removed from this match." Ivan is making a bold accusation, and most would agree it's unwise to call out your boss, none the less both of them. Ivan "New Era Management is not interested in finding the best wrestlers in the world. Their goal can be summed up with a single word." Ivan smiles from ear to ear. He looks like a child who was told he couldn't have a cookie before dinner, but rebelled from his parents and seized the treat he was rightfully deserved. Ivan "Money. It's all about sales with this company. Each person in this match has been hand picked for one reason, to make New Era Management money. Think about it." Ivan points to his head, tapping it letting everyone know how smart he is. Or atleast how smart he thinks he is. Ivan "Doc Holiday. A young colorful man, full of charisma and charm. He walks around with, what is that word they use... swagger. He has that arrogance that attracts the teenage crowd, and love him or hate him, you want to see him." Ivan lets out a small chuckle, he knows this video will reach the eyes of millions whether New Era likes it or not. Ivan "James Stall. The man's last name is enough to sell tickets. He doesn't need to earn his own fans, the old die hard fans of his elder will bring New Era the money they so desperately crave." Two down, four to go.
Ivan "Misty Lyn. The role model for fierce women everywhere. With so few women in this business, New Era jumped at the opportunity to sign this mediocre talent. A business that typically targets the young male audience, New Era looked to Misty to convince women everywhere to throw their money at this company. Congratulations Misty, you are a disgrace to your own gender." Half way through. Ivan "Mike Miller. The man is unstable, and has done despicable things in the past. A man who can be called racist, and let's be honest in this business plenty of it's fanbase consists of uneducated, intolerant rednecks who still hope Miller will see that great white light. Others watch to see if he'll change his ways, but one thing remains constant, people want to watch Mike Miller." Ivan is gradually becoming angrier, as the thought of why he was truly removed from this match eats him up inside. Ivan "Iron Heart. A masked man, a mysterious enigma. The man is unpredicatable, and love him or hate him, people tune in to see what this character will do next. And that's exactly what Iron Heart is, a character, without that mask he wouldn't make New Era the money they crave. Without that mask, he wouldn't be fighting for my title." A very important choice of words, Ivan referred to the TV title as his, clearly not accepting his fate, and not believing that anyone in the match is better than him. Ivan runs his hand through his hair, he begins to grind his teeth, this last entrant does not belong. This last entrant took what was rightfully Ivan's. Well no, that's not entirely true. Travis Blaine and Terry Queens took away Ivan's chance at glory, Matthews was just the lucky dog who was tossed an undeserved bone. Ivan "The last man on this list. He should not feel privileged. There are many others who are far more deserving than Jason Matthews. He is a direct insult to me. The others, they are entertainers, put on the show to earn the ever important American Dollar. But Jason, he was not chosen with purpose, he was just the random pick of two bosses who believe he has no chance. His role is even worse than the others. Jason Matthews is simply in this match for one reason." Ivan lets out another chuckle, as he thinks about how sad a replacement Jason Matthews really is. Ivan "Jason was picked to lose." Ivan's chuckle grows into a full out maniacal howl of laughter. Ivan slaps his own knee just thinking of the idea that Jason might win. But the laughter dies quickly. At the end of the day, something was taken from Ivan. And there is absolutely nothing funny about that. Ivan "So I find myself at this fork in the road. The path to my left, it leads me out of New Era Wrestling. I keep my pride, but I lose my job. I refuse to play these games, to dance through the hoops for Mr. Blaine and Mr. Queens. This is a hard choice to make for me. So I look to the right, and find an equally challenging path. I can earn my title shot, and I use that word very loosely. I put on a smile, I wave to the crowd, I play like a good little boy and focus on winning over fans. To make that American Dollar. With this path I may gain a title, but my pride will certainly die." Ivan looks to his left, then his right, symbolizing the choice he must make. Then he stares straight ahead, eyes once again glaring through the camera lens. Ivan "So I say enough with the beaten path! I will not abide by these rules. I will gain what I deserve and I shall not play their stupid games. I instead will keep walking straight, off the path, into the wild! I will climb whatever obstacles are in my way, destroy anyone and anything that gets in my way. And right now that obstacle is named Nate Rivers. This man has done be no harm, and yet he must suffer. He is a victim of circumstance, but he will be crushed. I will destroy him, and everyone Mr. Blaine and Mr. Queens can send at me." Ivan begins to snarl and growl, it'd be more accurate to say he is barking his words than actually speaking them. Ivan "Week after week, show after show, there will be a victim. Each one with the same goal, to stop Ivan from becoming champion. To keep Ivan away from the top. You can shine the spotlight on everyone else, but in the darkness I remain, taking out the roster one by one. Until their numbers dwindle, until nobody else can find the nerve to stand in my way. And on that day, I will look into the eyes of Mr. Blaine, or Mr Queens. And on that day one of two things will happen. They shall do what is right, and give me what is rightfully mine." Ivan jumps to his feet, and involuntarily stomps his foot on the mat of the ring. The loud thud brings a hush to the gym, as everyone's attention is now on Ivan. Ivan paces back and forth, like a caged animal, before finally stopping dead center in the ring. He turns his head back to the camera, eyes locked on the lens. Ivan "Or I shall take it."
