Nightmare is a whore

Date: Thursday, December 8th.
Location: Montreal

Here we are three days away from probably the biggest night in Matt Starr's NEW career. The former Television Champion has been been hard at work training for this Sunday's much anticipated six pack challenge. After spending much of the day training with Robbie Priest, Matt finds himself doing some publicity work to promote this Sunday's event. It isn't something he's that excited about, but it comes with the job.

We find ourselves in the Montreal World Trade Centre. The room is filled with several rows of chairs that are filled with NEW fans and some members of the press. At the head of the room, we see a small stage with a podium set up on it. Matt Starr's intern/girlfriend, the lovely Tea Ramirez stands directly in front of the podium and greets the crowd.

Tea Ramirez: "On behalf of NEW and Starr Productions, I would like to thank you all for coming out here tonight."

She clears her throat, as she looks out and sees all the people sitting out in the crowd.

Tea Ramirez: "I know most of you probably don't know me and I promise that I'm not going to waste too much of your time. I was just told to come out here and do the introduction. So, here he is, the Uncrowned NEW World Champion himself, Matt Starr!"

The crowd rise to their feet and erupt into cheers, as we see Tea move away from the podium. It isn't long, before we see Matt begin walking up to the podium. He has on a pair of jeans and a white tee shirt that is mostly covered by a leather jacket. Matt gets up to the podium and places the bottle of water he has been holding down on top of it. He adjusts his HD Aviators upon his face, as the crowd continues to roar. Some can be heard chanting "NEXT WORLD CHAMP" and others are just chanting his name. Matt takes in the reaction for a couple seconds, before motioning for the crowd to settle down.

Matt Starr: "Thanks for the introduction, T."

Matt says with as he flashes his pearly whites and looks over toward the nodding Tea. He quickly tuns his attention back toward the crowd, which has finally settled down, and leans in toward the microphone.

Matt Starr: "And thank you all for coming out here tonight. To be honest, I was only told by management to come out to do a personnel appearance and maybe sign a few autographs, but I thought turning this thing into my own little press conference was a much better idea. So, that's what I did."

He lets out a little chuckle and nods, before continuing.

Matt Starr: "You all should know by now that I love to talk and I know at least some of you like to hear me talk. So, not only does this give me the chance to do that, but it gives you all the chance to ask me whatever questions come to mind.

Don't worry when this is all over with, I'll stick around to sign some autographs. That's assuming that some of you all actually want my autograph. It would be cocky of me to assume that all of you would want something like that, I'll stick around for awhile just in case."

The crowd erupts again, as Matt takes a sip of his water.

Matt Starr: "Let's begin. Shall we?"

He asks, putting the bottle back down on the podium and looking out into the crowd of people eagerly raising their hands.

Matt Starr: "I believe we shall start with this young lady over here in the blue."

The lady Matt points toward quickly drops her hand back down and stands up. You can see a little bit of excitement on the ladies' face, as she goes to ask her question.

Lady Wearing Blue: "I just want to start out by saying that I'm a huge fan of yours and I'm looking forward to seeing you compere for the World Championship at Challenger Series. What I'd like to know is, are you ready?"

The rest of the audience let out a slight groan directed toward what they considered to be a stupid question. Starr just smiles and nods.

Matt Starr: "Of course. I've been thinking about this match for weeks. I've been working my ass off to get ready and right now, I truly believe I am psychically capable of competing with the other five men in this match. There is no doubt in my mind that I'm ready to compete this Sunday, in the six pack challenge."

The lady in the blue sits back down, as the Internet Sensation runs his hands through his hair.

Matt Starr: "On to the next one."

He says, before pointing out toward some fat guy wearing a Kidd Love shirt that is sitting in the third row. The man stands up and begins to talk.

Fat Guy: "Yes, recently Kidd Love had some unkind words to say about you and the rest of the competitors for this Sunday's six pack challenge. I kind of agree that he should be included in the match over some of you, but what are your thoughts on the matter?"

Matt lets out another chuckle, before leaning in to answer this question.

Matt Starr: "Well...now we know what a Kidd Love fans look like. I kind of almost expected his fans to look sort of like you. Then again you maybe NEW's only superstar's ONLY fan."

The man just stares up toward the NEW superstar with an angry glance.

Matt Starr: "As far as my thoughts on the matter, I think I agree with Turner. The six of us won our spots in the World Championship match. Kidd Love didn't. He lost his qualifying match. I'm not going to argue that he isn't an okay wrestler, but he's just not ready for something like the six pack challenge.

He can bitch about how it's unfair that he was excluded from the match all he wants. The fact remains that he wasn't going to just be awarded a spot in this match. Yeah, Reno Taylor may have not been the level of competition Troy Turner is. But if me and Troy would have switched who we faced to qualify, Kidd Love would still be on the out side looking in. That's just the way it is."

Fat Guy: "So, what do you say about his accusations of you putting on nothing but mediocre performances?"

The slightly nerdy fat guy quickly retorts, before sitting down. Matt shakes his head, as he takes another sip of water.

Matt Starr: "You know I might have hit a rough patch there with the whole Doc Holiday saga, but I never once was mediocre. Even when I lose, I put on more five star performances then Mr. Love could ever dream of doing.

I'm Mr. Entertainment. Regardless of who my opponent is, I go out there and give one hundred percent of my effort to put on a great show. Yeah, Kidd Love might have got a five star performance when facing Troy Turner, but that's the only one I have ever seen him give and frankly that was mostly because of Turner."

He places his water back on the podium and grins.

Matt Starr: "Next question please."

Matt says, pointing toward probably the oldest person in the room.

Older Person: "Yes, Mister Starr, what do you think about this whole saga between Outkast and Psychosis? It kind of seems like they are making this whole match about themselves. How do you feel about that?"

Matt Starr: "I'm not one bit surprised by this, to be honest."

He lets out a brief chuckle, as he leans on to the podium.

Matt Starr: "That masked Lima Bean has what one would call a one track mind. Or that is at least how it looks, from my perspective. That ego of his is so big, that he only has room in his head for one other thought. Unfortunately for Outkast, he's that other thought. The man desperately thinks that it is his time to be champion.

Outkast has been a really good champion. He, for the most part, thinks pretty rationally. He understands that he's in a match with a handful of guys that could possibly take that title away from him. Psychosis is just too damn persistent. He won't stop annoying the shit out of you, until you finally crack. So, I can't blame Outkast for being just a little preoccupied by Psychosis.

Once the match begins, They'll quickly remember that they aren't the only people in this match. I've said it before, I am not being denied. I'll make them notice me, if I have to. The six pack challenge is mine to win and that's what I'm going to do."

Matt Starr raises back up and adjusts his HD Aviators.

Matt Starr: "Outkast was the man that finally lit this fire under my ass. Now I'm going to light a fire under everybody else. If they want the World Championship, they'll have to get through me.

Can I get another question?"

With that we see the crowd begin to eagerly throw up their hands again. Matt points to another young lady and she quickly raises to her feet.

Female #2: "Ever since your last Starr Production, a lot of fans have started predicting that you would be the one to take the World title. Does this put any added pressure on you going in?"

Matt Starr: "Not at all. Everyone loves an underdog. I'm sure that is why there are as many people jumping on my bandwagon right now. I'm sure there are a few of my fans that actually believe I can pull that off, but there is no added pressure."

He soon points out at some skinny guy with glasses.

Matt Starr: "You're up, sir."

Guy with Glasses: "The last time NEW had a super show, you where getting beat by Doc Holiday for the Television. A lot of us are wondering, if you threw the match just so you wouldn't have the T.V. Championship anymore?"

The man ask without hesitation as soon as he stands up. Matt ponders the question for a second, before taking another drink of water.

Matt Starr: "No, I didn't throw anything. It was just Doc's night. I can see why you'd think that. Outkast did call me out not to long before that about being content holding the T.V. title, but that didn't cause me to try and lose the title.

I know that nobody has outright accused me of such a thing, but I just want to get that out there, before someone does. I was proud to hold the Television Championship and I wouldn't have done such a thing. We all lose matches that people think we shouldn't once in awhile. That doesn't mean that I'm going to choke in every big match I get in.

My time as the NEW Television Champion had to come to an end sometime, but I promise bigger and better things are going to happen with me soon."

The man with glasses nods, before taking back his seat.

Matt Starr: "I going to take one more question."

Matt says, as he points out to a little kid in the crowd.

Matt Starr: "The floor is yours, kid. Make this one good."

The kid nods, before standing up.

Kid: "Who in the six pack challenge do you view, as the biggest threat?"

Matt scratches his beard for a moment, before leaning into the microphone.

Matt Starr: "Turner."

He pulls away from the mic and takes his signature HD Aviators off and places them down on the podium.

Matt Starr: "MFTT is probably the biggest threat I have in this match. It's not because I necessarily think he is better then the rest. It's because I think he is the only person in this match besides me who is actually completely focused on what we have to do. He's not obsessed with some other person.

You see Outkast and Psychosis have their own little skirmish going on, Then we have somebody I have a lot of respect for in Jimmy Helmsley competing in another match that night."

Matt takes a short pause to take another drink of his water, before continuing.

Matt Starr: "Troy Turner was the man that won the six pack challenge last year. So, he knows what it takes to win the World Championship in this type of situation. The man's basically the biggest star in this company. Some may say that his dominance is stale, but that's just because they are jealous of him.

I have no doubts that he is one of the best wrestlers in this company, but even the best wrestlers have to lose every once in a while.

I made a promise to myself and all my fans that I was going to be the one to take the throne away from Outkast and I don't plan on breaking it. Troy Turner may be the most dominant person in this company, but he isn't the Uncrowned NEW World Heavyweight Champion.

Winning the title Sunday at Challenger Series may be the toughest thing I have ever done in my career, but I am going to do it. Nobody is going to stop me. Troy may claim to be the most entertaining man in this company, but this week he's going to be surpassed by the next World Heavyweight Champion."

Matt grabs his Aviator glasses and places them back on his face, before pulling away from the podium.
