The scene opens just outside the Bell Center in beautiful Montreal, Canada, the home of NEW’s Challenger Series. The show is right around the corner, and you can tell as the area becomes more populated, and the stagehands are running around the arena, making sure all of the final touches are ready. A few diehard fans are standing outside the doors, waiting to get a quick interview or picture with their favorite superstar, but to no avail. Challenger series with title matches, cage matches, and even superstars pulling double duty, it will be one hell of a show. Winter is upon us, and a sheet of white snow covers the ground, and is starting to build up in the nearby trees. The sky is grey, and snow flurries have started to fall. Upon the horizon two headlights break the winter sky, and shine down the road toward the Center. As the car gets closer, it is noticeable that it is driving on the left side of the road, and is weaving out of control. The cameraman leaps out of the way of the dangerous car, just in time as it swerves into the employee parking lot of the Bell Center. Shocked, the cameraman gets to his feet and starts to walk toward the car to investigate. As the cameraman gets a few feet behind the car, they notice it is a Ford Focus with Las Vegas tags. Both front doors swing open, and Erickson and Skylar step out of the car, bundled up in winter clothing. Skylar looks at Erickson, and shakes her head in disappointment.

“What babe?”

Skylar: “WHAT?! WHAT?! You almost killed us.”

“I couldn’t control the car, the roads were icy, and you know foreign cars are a lot harder to control. They have a special kind of breaks.”

Skylar: “I wasn’t even talking about the fish-tailing, and the swerving, I was talking about how you drove on the left side of the road for the whole damn drive.”

“Honey, were in Canada, they drive on the opposite side of the road. We are the only ones to drive on the right side. I’m surprised you didn’t know that.”

Skylar: “You are an idiot.”

Skylar storms off toward the arena and Erickson runs off behind her. As the couple reaches the door, they are met by their old friend Thumper.
“What do you want Thumper?”

Thumper: “An interview, just a few words about your elimination tag-match at Challenger Series.”

“An interview already? I just got here.”

Thumper: “Jack, you were supposed to be here over a week ago. You know Travis wants everyone here a week before the show to help with press conferences and interviews and to cut promos.”

“Does it look like I care what Travis wants? But fine, I will give you your interview. Let’s do this thing.”

Thumper leads the way to the room designated for backstage interviews. Thumper tells remnants of Ace High to stay outside while they finish setting up. As the tech crew sets up for the backstage interview, RAW comes from around the corner and has his eyes set on Erickson.

Skylar: “Utoh, here comes trouble.”

“Don’t worry, he is a pussy. RAW! My man! What’s going on?”

RAW: “Jack, I need a favor.”

“A favor? What could you possible need from me?”

RAW: “Remember when Reno walked out on you and I came to your rescue and was your partner to defend your tag titles? I helped you, now it’s time for you to help me.”

“You helped me? How did you help me? You came out and lost me the match. As far as I am concerned, I could have done better by myself. I should kick your ass for costing me my championship belts.”

RAW: “Calm down Jack, I’m sorry that we lost, but I didn’t even know I was wrestling till moments before, but that is the past, let’s put that behind us.”

“What do you need from me?”

RAW: “I know that we will be on opposite sides of the ring during the elimination tag match, but I need your help during the match.”

“You want me to turn on my partners, and let your team win?”

RAW: “Not exactly, but I will tell you more later, I don’t want anyone to hear about this. Come to my locker room later, and we will discuss the plan. “

RAW walks off back toward the direction he came from, leaving Erickson to think about his proposal. Erickson stars to daydream about what would happen if he helped RAW. Skylar interrupts, snapping Erickson out of it.

Skylar: “You’re not going through with that are you? Turning on your teammates? This is exactly how you and Reno lost the trust you guys had, and why you were at each other’s throats for the past four months.”

“The past is the past, we are moving toward the future, and a new beginning.”

With those words said, Thumper comes up behind Erickson and Skylar and signals them to come in for the interview. The couple makes their way into the room, and sits in front of Thumper, as the tech crew hooks up a microphone to them.

Thumper: “Where should we begin? It has been over a month since you lost not only the tag-team titles, but your friend, and partner, Reno Taylor. Thoughts?”

“As I was just telling Skylar outside that the past is the past, you can’t change what happened. Do I regret it? Yes, in a way. But it was not only my actions that caused it to go down the way it did, Reno was equally, if not more at fault than I was. He resulted into cheap shots, and showed that he couldn’t even beat me one on one. I am more disappointed about losing the gold around my waist than I was losing Reno. If you look at the championship history, there aren’t many superstars back here that can say they are two time tag-team champion. Some people might say my partner carries me to gold, some call me a tag-team specialist, either way you look at it, I still rocked gold around my waist, and I will do so again when I find myself another partner.”

Thumper: “Speaking of partners, I heard you were on the look for one these past couple of weeks, have you been close to finding someone?”

“I have been asking around, seeing what kind of partnership I can work out with some of these guys. But nothing solid has come up yet, I guess we will have to wait and see what happens.”

Thumper: “You had an impressive win last week, leading into the elimination tag match at Challenger Series, does this give you an upper hand?”

“I would hope so. This match is a cluster fuck. Two stacked teams in a tag match and elimination rules? It will be crazy. Do I think winning the match against Linnea last week will help me in this match? In a way. These matches are two very different types of matches. A singles match and a 10 person elimination tag match are totally different. I did work on my fundamentals against Linnea, but you need a new bag of tricks in a match like the one at Challenger Series. Teamwork, conditioning, skill, are all things that you will need to be successful in a match of this caliber. But the worst thing is knowing who is on your team, and who is ACTUALLY on YOUR team. You have to watch your back when you are in a ring with so many NEW superstars, anything can happen.

Thumper: “That is all the time we have right now, good luck on your match Jack. Let’s meet up sometime after.”

Erickson and Skylar take their microphones off, and walk out of the room as the tech crew starts to clean up. They head toward the locker rooms, and as Erickson passes RAW’s locker room, he stops dead in his tracks. Skylar shakes her head and mumbles under her breath.
Skylar: “Don’t do it, I’m warning you.”

Erickson extends his hand, and knocks on the door as the scene fades black.
