Kerryn Kali wanders across a darkened room and takes a look into a video camera viewfinder. He smirks as he stands up and checks to make sure the lens can see outside but that neither no thing nor no person can see inside this room. Satisfied, he looks back into the viewfinder.

Kerryn Kali: It's funny what happens when somebody makes a big change in their life, isn't it? They find all the things they took for granted before suddenly become totally different simply by transposing one or two key elements.

He pauses, making an adjustment on the camera.

Kerryn Kali: For example, when we lived in New York, we went to the same little deli every time we were home and we ordered the same thing every time to the point that if the owner merely saw us walking up the sidewalk, he would have what we wanted ready to go before we even managed to open the door. We simply gave him the money and went on our merry way.

The view changes to what the camera lens sees, the front yard of large Gothic house with wrought iron fence made to look like corn rows.

Kerryn Kali: When you chose to move us away, it was a bit of a shock, wasn't it? To suddenly have to re-learn everything? To not even know where you could get a decent cup of coffee on a regular basis? But you adapted... didn't you?

Zenna Zdunich steps from the front door of the big house and makes her way around to the garage.

Kerryn Kali: And we can't live without our morning cup of Joe, can we?

Zenna steps over to her car, glancing back to the silent house apparently making sure no one has been disturbed.

Kerryn Kali: It took you a while but you found your place here, didn't you my Sweet? The Italian restaurant two blocks over. The gym two blocks down from that. The bar on Bourbon Street that can give you anything you may desire if you simply ask for it. I must say, I never thought you would be caught dead in a place like that but... I suppose it was to be expected when you keep company with those that frequent such establishments.

Zenna checks her car for bugs, cameras and anything else that wasn't there the last time

Kerryn Kali: Don't worry My Love, no one has defiled your conveyance. It is as fresh and clean as the puppy Alissa Lacroix brought home not long ago. How is Lucy anyway? I've heard you've all grown quite... attached... to the sweet little thing...

Satisfied that her car is clean, Zenna opens the car and sits down inside it.

Kerryn Kali: You don't look well, My Love, could it be that you're not sleeping well? Do you not feel safe even inside of that gigantic fortress of a house you've been afforded? Don't worry, My Sweet, you're not paranoid because I AM always watching...

Zenna cranks up her car and pulls out into traffic. A few seconds later, the camera picks up from inside a car. Zenna's bumper is two cars ahead, rolling down the road in New Orleans morning traffic.

Kerryn Kali: It's amazing what you can do with a few cameras and a computer, isn't it? You'll never know where I am or even if what you're seeing is even being shown live or if it's simply a loop on Memorex, as it were. Isn't progress wonderful?

Zenna's car turns right into a parking lot and takes a space nearest the door to the coffee shop. Zenna steps out and wanders inside, glancing around nervously in what looks like an almost absent habit manner.

Kerryn Kali: We're almost there, aren't we? Perhaps the time IS right... I mean, you ARE alone... and yet...

The camera pulls into the parking lot and chooses a space around the back of the building. Kerryn steps from his car, checking a screen in the car to make sure the small lapel cam is functioning properly. Satisfied, he walks to the door and takes a seat near the door. He watches as a waitress takes Zenna's order and starts walking back to the counter. She's made it just up to him when he moves his strategically placed foot so as to make sure she sees that he removed it from her path.

Waitress: Thank you sir, can I help you?

Kerryn nods, smiling widely.

Kerryn Kali: Yes Ma'am, thank you. Could you possibly arrange to have something written to that young lady for me? I...

He blushes, looking quite shy and reserved. The waitress smiles, touched.

Waitress: What did you have in mind?

Kerryn smiles gratefully.

Kerryn Kali: Can you write “Sweet Dreams Zenna” in chocolate sauce on top?

The waitress nods.

Kerryn Kali: Anything else?

Kerryn ponders this.

Kerryn Kali: Yes ma'am, I'll have one of what she's having as well.

The waitress nods and hurries over to put in the orders taking special care for the “touching love note” to be made especially for him. Kerryn smiles and sits back, waiting for the fun to begin.

Kerryn Kali: Excellent service here, My Darling, you really should come back here more often and please, don't forget to tip our waitress...

Ten minutes later, a coffee-covered Kerryn steps back into his car and smirks as he watches Zenna pull towards the exit for the parking lot.

Kerryn Kali: That was an impressive display...

He glances down at the seat next to him and shakes his head.

Kerryn Kali: You may have even cost me some equipment, My Sweet but I forgive you. The money is meaningless in the grand scheme of things.

Zenna's car pulls into traffic and Kerryn pulls out behind her, making sure to keep a safe distance.

Kerryn Kali: You really will need to return and apologize for the mess and making a scene though. The waitress did not look too pleased about being stiffed and having to clean up after you. Fear not though, I did leave her enough to cover both of us.

He watches as Zenna drives, angrily cutting at least two cars off as she drives home.

Kerryn Kali: My, I do enjoy watching your animalistic nature asserting itself... mmmm...

Zenna pulls back into her driveway and storms out of her car. Kerryn watches her go and then swings around the neighborhood again.

Kerryn Kali: This is gonna be a fun fortnight My Vicious Vixen... I can only hope you enjoy it as much as I do...
