Rather than some long and drawn out intro that we normally see we cut to the chase, we open up in the city of Montreal, Quebec. The cold early winter winds sweep through the city as the streets lie quiet even for 9pm. As we sweep through the street we find ourselves in a little diner-esq eatery. The smell of French roast coffee and rolls fill the room full of 4 or 5 people quite rapidly. In the far corner of the diner we see Gavin and Allison enjoying a night out in the Canadian city. As we see a waitress make her way over and ask them what they would like we watch as the two in a jokingly bad French accent make there order before the waitress makes her way back to the kitchen. After a moment or two we watch as Gavin excuses himself to the bathroom as he leaves the table and Ally pulls out her phone, as Gavin enters the bathroom we watch as he lets out a slight little chuckle.

“It’s funny how just a little bit of pressure can silence such feeble foes.”

Gavin says as he looks at himself in the bathroom mirror, his arms clutched to the side of the sink.

“For the last few months all I had heard from Tyler Graves and his lackeys was about how much they deserved to be here, about how they were the future of New Era and that they were overlooked and ignored in prior attempts to join because of guys like myself getting our so called buddies jobs over them.”

Dropping his head Gavin turns the water on, running his hands through he begins to speak once more.

“But for the better of a month now I’ve heard no words break the lips of the fearless leader in Tyler Graves, I’ve seen him shake just at my presence in recent weeks. Not through his body motions but his eyes tell the story, a tale of a man who’s more of a child. It’s funny how when you outnumber everyone you suddenly become confident and vindictive; your actions weather justified or not are never questioned because the fear that comes from you transcends to everyone around you. No one questions you; no one challenges or defies the idea that you are nothing more than a schoolyard bully. And if I hadn’t stepped up and became the roadblock in your path to destruction than who knows how far your charade of tough guy bullshit could had gone.”

Pausing for a second we watch as Gavin lets out a smirk.

“I once played the card of the better then you role, I felt that I was the best of the best and that nothing could ever make me see different. But you know what it took losing everything to realize that thinking like that was just a poor excuse to make it through the day. Tyler I look at you and I see someone who could have been a great wrestler and an even greater man but your little jealous fits and Xavier Magnus-esq departures and arrivals have made me see you for a coward. You stay a few weeks; you leave for a few months and expect to be welcomes back with open arms and a clean slate.”

Turning the water off Gavin grips the side of the sink once more and spits into the sink, his eyes still not catching his own in the reflection.

“And it’s this kind of bull shit that makes me want to do more then beat you this week at the Challenger Series. I know I am not the best person of late to talk consistency and reliability but the truth remains clear that unlike you Tyler I admitted my short comings and personal failures.”

Looking back at his reflection Gavin’s eyes that were once full of passion and vindication now lay somber, as if all the years of heartache and despair were trying to break through his newly found sense of confidence and happiness.

“Not to re-hash a story as there is a time and place for that, I can say that when I had everything I had loved taken away from me through splintering glass, where the last scent I remember of her wasn’t her perfume and lip-gloss but the smell of gasoline and oil. I lost myself and I became the monster I never wanted to become. In my own despair I found solace at the bottom of a bottle and for 3 years I turned into something I never wanted to be. Like many I resent my father, I fucking loathed him and you have no idea what it felt like to see that through every empty bottle and sleepless night I was slowly becoming the living embodiment of everything I never wanted to become.”

Looking back down we watch as Gavin tries to grip at the sink, as if wanting to crush the porcelain or break his fingers trying. But after a few tries he lets the grip release and just tilts his head back to the ground.

“When I lost my job back in August it was the awakening I needed, it was then I realized that I had become uncontrollable and needed to seek a solution and fix to my problem. Tyler as much as I hate to say it, you were my reason to kill my demons. I look at you and I see me, I look at you and I see the person I once was and I feel that how your attitude had changed me I need to help you. I want to assist you this weekend and realizing that everything you are crusading for, the changes that need to be made and the ideas that favoritism decides who gets hired and fired you really need some insight. And I wish to give you that insight this weekend.”

Looking back at himself we watch as Gavin’s sick little smirk strikes his face, his eyes once somber look inflamed with a burning passion to hurt someone.

“Come next Sunday I am going to do you and New Era a favor and kick some sense into your senseless head of yours. No longer am I the lost cause I used to be and it’s thanks to you Tyler.”

As he goes to exit the bathroom Gavin pauses one last time, his head facing the door but his head tilted just a corner to see his mouth move.

“I can only hope you feel the same way when you find solace through the after effects of Drivers Side Impact.”

On those words we watch as Gavin re-enters the little diner, we can see Allison getting up from the booth and giving Gavin a great big hug. A second later we watch as the two take a seat back down at the table, the door slowly moving back and forth showing us Gavin and Ally beginning to eat before it finally shuts. The screen then abruptly fades to complete darkness as the feed ends.
