( Can’t a girl have a coffee in peace? )

Zenna sits in a coffee shop called Coffee Culture waiting for her much needed coffee. Her sleep hasn’t been all that great in the last few weeks and this coffee was her way of dealing with it today. In reality she should be at home sleeping next to Linnéa catching up on her very much missed sleep, but she had instead decided to leave the house and get some fresh air. She would have felt bad if she had woken Linnéa from her slumber, Linnéa needed her sleep just as much as Zenna did, for the same reason really, so she left without her. Now she wasn’t so sure this was a good idea. What would happen if she bumped into Kerryn? She was alone and he could… No, she was alone yeah but she could take him, she had to not let this freak her out cos she was gonna be in the ring with him alone next weekend.

No, this time alone was what she needed, to think, to get her shit as sorted as it could be sorted at this point. After all, Kerryn wasn’t the only man bugging her right now. The other man on her mind was Rico. The man she had got into bed with when she was trashed off her face. Sober she wouldn’t have done this at all. Sober, she would have been totally disgusted by the idea, but high…. She and Linnéa had both thrown themselves at him and apparently had a very pleasurable time… Why couldn’t she remember it? Why had the one time she had actually got passed her fear be the one time she was so drunk and high that she couldn’t remember? Fate was a bitch for sure, now she still only had her bad memories of the rape and nothing good to compare them too…

Waitress:
Snowflake Latte with an extra shot and 4 sugars?

Zenna smiles up at the waitress holding her coffee. A fake smile, but a smile none the less.

Zenna:
Thanks

The waitress puts the coffee down in front of her. Zenna looks down at it and fear fills her as she reads the letters written on it in chocolate sauce surrounded by a love heart.

“Sweet dreams Zenna”

Waitress:
The man sitting in the corner over there told us to write it on it for you…

The waitress lowers her voice to a whisper.

Waitress:
I think someone has a little crush on you.

The waitress laughs as she walks off back up to the barista area. Zenna looks wildly around trying to spot him and she find him, There in the corner, his long hair tied into a ponytail, is Kerryn. He smiles wickedly and waves at her when she spots him.

Fear fills Zenna’s face for a minute and she looks ready to run as she starts breathing fast. But then she thinks, no, I can’t keep running, I have to stay here and show him that I’m not freaked by him. I am stronger than that. So Zenna instead narrows her eyes at him before putting the teaspoon in her coffee and stirring away the words.

How dare he come here! He obviously knew she was alone and knew this was the best time to show himself, and try and get into her head and well, truth be told, he had succeeded in that, but she wasn’t going to let him win. She wasn’t going to run, not anymore.

Kerryn scans the place, looking from her to the door and then back to her as if to tell her she'd never make it anyway. As she sits there stewing on the situation, he disappears into the crowd and then suddenly emerges right in front of her.

Kerryn:
Fancy that... the vixen emerges from her cave...

Zenna curses under her breath.

Zenna:
Wasn't hiding Kerryn... So don't even delude yourself into thinking I was.

Kerryn smiles at her reaction.

Kerryn:
Who said anything about hiding there?

Zenna glares at him.

Zenna:
So what brings you out of your basement? I don't suppose this is a coincidence you being here.

Kerryn smirks.

Kerryn:
I'm not allowed to have coffee?

Zenna:
Oh give it up Kerryn, we all know you've been following me for weeks..... nothing is a mere coincidence with you...

Kerryn:
What makes you think it's only been weeks?

Zenna:
See exactly my point... Your a fucken sicko Kerryn... Why don't you just get the point? I fucken hate you and would never be with you again even if you were the last man on earth.

Kerryn smirks.

Kerryn:
Perhaps I should dress as a woman then...

Zenna:
Kerryn, her being a woman has nothing to do with it really and if you think otherwise you're wrong... I hate you cos of what you did to me, not cos of what sex you are.

Kerryn:
Keep telling yourself that, Zenna. Maybe one day you'll even believe it yourself.

Zenna:
you know what? Fuck you Kerryn

She stands up.

Zenna:
I'll show you this week just how pathetic you are... You don't own me now, and you never will!

The smile gets even wider on Kerryn's face.

Kerryn:
Keep tellin' yourself that too!

Zenna's hands clench into fists as she tries to stop herself from punching him in the face. She knew better than to do that though, she didn't need a lawsuit against her name for hitting him in a public place. Instead she picks up her coffee and throws it into his smug face and all down his front.

Zenna:
Fuck you Kerryn...

She says before she walks off and out the door. Once outside, she stops leans against her car, arms out stretched and screams in anger before thumping her hand on her car. He was so fucken irritating and she was looking forward to slapping that cocky smirk of his right off his face.

Irritated and coffeeless Zenna gets in her car and drives away from the coffee shop, leaving Kerryn behind her.
