Stupid. It’s a word that gets tossed around like a rag doll. Whether you use it as an insult or you use it as a joke… it’s hurtful. It’s mean. It’s a word that been used to describe Logan Knight. The thing about Logan though… is he isn’t stupid. He has a rich sense of humor. He likes to have fun. He likes to crack jokes and pull pranks. But when the bell rings… he is all business. That is something you cannot harp on him about.
He won’t be the one to orchestrate an attack on Silver Kazama… that was Adam. He won’t be the one to give the signal to extract revenge on The Hood Rats… that was also Adam. He is the one that will listen to what Adam says and know deep down that it’s in his best interest… it’s in the teams best interest. Logan doesn’t consider himself the second best… he knows that he and Adam play different roles in Day & Knight… by the way, speaking of which… he is still trying to get the name changed over to Knight and Day.
“Sir… this will be something you need to do. Please… just take the idea into your bosses and see what they say. Make sure to tell them who is telling you this. It's important you do that!”
With the cell phone held to his ear, Logan is just lounging on the living room sofa. The television is on in the background, but its on mute. It looks like the movie The Replacements is playing, starring Keeanu Reeves and Gene Hackman. It's one of Logan's favorite movies to watch on television, especially since it's on tv all the time.
“Who am I???”
Even though he is on the phone… Logan flashes a look of dumbfoundment.
“I am Logan Knight… member of the NEWera tag team, Knight and Day…. soon to be Tag Team Champions. Ringing a bell yet?”
Logan almost appears to be annoyed as he is a little ruffled while he adjusts his movement on the couch.
“NO!?”
This causes Logan to stand up from the couch and flails his arms out in utter disbelief, the phone barely hanging in the clasp of Logan’s hand. This was typical behavior for Logan when he is by himself.
“Look… it’s very simple. You tell whoever you need to tell about my idea and we move forward. Geesh… it’s not rocket science.”
Even Logan will get a little heated. As he looks a little flustered, he shakes his head in amazement.
“You want to put me on hold???”
A deep sigh from Logan. You won't like him when he's angry!
“Fine… I’ll hold.”
Logan pushes a button on his cellular phone that activates speaker phone as he sets it on the coffee table directly in front of him. You can hear the stereotypical corny hold music blaring from the phone’s speaker. I think it’s an instrumental of “My Heart Will Go On”, the love theme from Titanic... of course Logan nods his head to the music.
“This guy…”
You then can hear a raised voice from somewhere else in the house… Logan quickly turns his attention to where the noise came from as he marches over into the hallway, up to a closed door.
“Adam’s room.”
Adam meaning… Adam Day that is.
“What’s he doing in there?”
Logan shakes his head, as if he was answering himself.
“I never know what he’s doing in there…”
Leaning up and pressing his ear to the door… Logan attempts to eaves drop. It’s something Logan use to do to Adam as kids. He was the one who use to find out secrets and tell the whole school or family about it. It’s actually surprising that they are teammates after all the fighting between the two when they were younger.
“It sounds like he is blabbing on about our match at The Challenger Series.”
Standing on his toes, Logan presses up a little bit harder on the door, as if to help himself hear Adam on the other side a little bit better. The hold music on his phone switches songs, this time to some generic elevator music, which causes Logan to redirect his attention back to his phone.
“What is taking so long?”
As he sits back on the couch, Logan looks back over towards Adam’s room as if he is missing out on something really exciting. Suddenly the hold music ends.
“About time...”
“Thank you for holding, can you please hold?”
Logan throws his hands up as if the person on the receiving end of the phone can see his gesture.
“Ughh… yes.”
Taking a deep breath and kicking his legs back up on the coach, Logan looks up at the ceiling… collecting his thoughts. For a lot of people in NEWera that don‘t know… Logan can actually think for himself.
“This is worse then waiting for paint to dry. Worse yet! It’s like waiting for our match at The Challenger Series.”
Even though Adam was more of the guy that got psyched up for fights, Logan knew he had to rise to the occasion when a big match was on the horizon.
“The Challenger Series. It's where we'll get a shot at redemption. In two different ways. We get to avenge a loss to The Silver Dragons and we get another chance at capturing the Tag Team Titles!”
Nobody ever told Logan that when he and Adam threw Silver Electro’s head through a car window, that it knocked him out of the match. As far as Logan is concerned, he doesn’t even know who Kise is, let alone that he willbe filling in for his brother at The Challenger Series. And he wonders why people call him stupid.
“I hope Silver doesn’t hate Adam and I for throwing him through a car window at NEW Friday Night. Adam told me it was straight business and nothing personal. I think he'll understand.”
It might seem like Logan is oblivious to what Adam’s intentions are, but he isn’t. He knows what’s going on. He is so worried about people liking him that he doesn’t dare say mean things…. That is, unless Adam tells him to.
“I know Adam can seem a bit on the edge, but he has my best interest involved. Our goal is to become tag team champions… as Adam likes to say… by any means necessary. Once we reach the top at The Challenger Series, I have no doubt in my mind that everything we’ve done from beginning to now had reason and had a purpose. For everyone else… it will make sense once we hold up our title belts!”
Confidence is not something Logan usually possesses, but with the hot streak that they are on… Logan is gaining it more and more as the days pass on.
“I am going to feel really bad about one thing though...”
Considering this is Logan… this could be anything.
“It sucked the first time and it’s going to suck this time as well… But... I don’t want to mess up that pretty face of Zoe’s. She is sooooo damn hot!! Easily the hottest chick in NEWera!! What I’d like to do is take her out for drinks and then take her back to my place and try out a move… E… or two!”
Logan smirks as he think he was really clever with that save of his. Like he'd ever have a chance with Zoe McDraven. The hold music ends as the voice returns from the cell phone speaker.
“Logan, are you still there?:
“Yes, I sure am.”
“My bosses will be in touch.”
And after all that holding, the guy on the other end hangs up as the phone begins to make a busy signal sound until Logan turns it off and sticks it back into his pocket.
“YES!”
Jumping onto the couch, very Tom Cruise-esque, Logan then proceeds to jump over the couch and run straight towards Adam’s room. Without even so much as a knock, he opens the door and surprises Adam.
“Cuz'… you won’t believe what I have found out!”
All Adam does is smile back at Logan as he speaks under his breath.
“This outta be good.”
