Bombtrack
Cam's Best Friend
[ * * * * ]
Did everybody miss me? I do apologize for not being very active lately, but I've been... occupied. Nathan Blaster had set out to permanently cripple me at Vindication and according to my doctor he was a mere half inch away from completing the task. If he had placed that chair on my ankle just half an inch to the left I wouldn't be able to stand under my own power today. Instead of an extremely lengthy recovery, I felt good as new in just a few weeks. I wish I could say the same for my arm. Blaster put a hairline fracture on my left arm forcing me to wear a cast for the past two months or so. I learned at a young age that if you're going to do something wrong then do it right. You only did half a job Blaster and I'm going to make you pay for your lack of efficiency. If you would've been as thorough as I was and called my doctor then you would've known that I didn't need Gene Snitsky to get around.

October 12th 2011 – 1:34PM – The Trial

[The scene opens to Day 2 of Bombtrack’s trail. The first day was filled with boring speeches and hearing the testimonies of people bashing Bombtrack’s character and people trying to gain sympathy from the jury. The prosecution even went as far as to put little Tommy on the stand so that he could tell the tale of how he rescued little Maria Collins from the fire. Day 1 definitely belonged to the prosecution and things are not looking great for Bombtrack in the early stages of the trail. Don’t ask me why, but the defence thought it would be a good idea to put Bombtrack on the stand as soon as possible. Bombtrack’s lawyer has already questioned him and believe it or not, BT did a fantastic job answering the questions and defending his innocence. It is now the prosecutions turn to cross examine Bombtrack. BT sits very confidently on the stand as John Wiskin stands up and makes his way towards him.]

John Wiskin
So Chris, everyone already knows that you’re guilty of this crime. We’ve seen the cell phone with your fingerprints on it; the same phone that contains the email sent to the Billings Police Department. If I may, I wish to read this letter aloud?

Judge Selva
I’ll allow it.

[John Wiskin reaches for a sheet of paper and reads the contents on it.]

John Wiskin
“Dear Detectives. I had such an enjoyable time setting the Bridge's Ranch on fire. Watching the gleams of light from the barn windows was so beautiful. The majestic glow from the flames casted ghastly shadows on the ground and it made me happy. The sounds of the explosion and the crackling of the fire played second fiddle to the screams of that little girl. The agony and overwhelming pain in her voice brought warm and fuzzy feelings to my black heart. Everything looks the same once the fire has finished cleansing. Piles of ashes on the ground and the stench of char in the air. Good luck finding me detectives. I look forward to watching your investigation unfold on the news. Enclosed is a $25 dollar gift card for Lowes. The first piece of lumber is on me. XOXO From me.”

That email explained the mysterious gift card that was taped to the front door of the Billings Police Department on the morning of August 29th. The first piece of lumber is on me? How do you sleep at night?

[Bombtrack’s lawyer, Kevin McCann, stands up.]

Kevin McCann
Objection! My client’s sleeping habits are not on trial here.

Judge Selva
Sustained! Stick to questions about the case Mr. Wiskin.

John Wiskin
I bet you didn’t intend on a little girl getting burned nearly to death from your crime did you?

Bombtrack
I had nothing to do with the fire at the Bridge’s Ranch.

John Wiskin
Well the cell phone has your fingerprints on it as well as a saved copy of the email that I read out loud. Everyone knows that you have had personal problems with Nathan Bridges outside of your profession and that you have a track record for going after people’s families.

Bombtrack
I understand the coincidences against me, but people don’t go to jail based on coincidences. I’m innocent and my story won’t change.

John Wiskin
Well did you know that someone terrorized that little girl while she was recovering in the hospital?

Bombtrack
How could I possibly know that?

John
Oh, I don’t know, maybe because you were the one that terrorized her! Do you not have any boundaries?

Bombtrack
It couldn’t have been me because I’ve been nursing some injuries.

John
We’re aware of the charade that you put on, but we know that you weren’t hurt that badly. We have seen your medical records and Nathan Bridges had actually done more damage to your arm than to your ankle. That cast on your arm is legitimate, but having that ogre carry you around was uncalled for and to be perfectly honest was quite unsettling as well.

Kevin McCann
Objection!

Judge Selva
Overruled! Proceed.

John
We know that you’re able to walk on your own. In fact you’ve been walking perfectly fine since being arrested on October second. The nurse at the Billings hospital wasn’t able to give a clear depiction of the two nuns that visited Maria Collins, but did make mention of how one of them was quote, “rather large and kept her head down.” Unfortunately the frightened little girl wasn’t able to give the best description of the man that terrorized her, but my gut tells me that it was you.

Bombtrack
The injuries that girl suffered is a terrible tragedy that I didn’t have anything to do with. Nor did I “terrorize” her at the hospital. I thought that I was on trial for arson, which I am also innocent of. Get to your point Wiskin.

John
You’re getting a little touchy there Chris. I have the feeling that I struck a nerve. Fine, I’ll continue, but for the record I don’t believe a word you’re saying.

Bombtrack
Well I’m telling the truth. I had nothing to do with that little girl.

October 1st 2011 – 3:04PM – ICU - Billings, Montana

[The scene opens to the ICU ward of the hospital in Billings, Montana as two nuns approach a nurse at the front desk. One of these nuns is a very large woman standing over six feet tall and looks like she weighs nearly three hundred pounds. The large nun has her head down very low as the second nun takes the lead by speaking to the nurse.]

Nun
Excuse me dear, but can you please direct us to Maria Collins’ room. Her family has arranged for a prayer session and I’ve misplaced the piece of paper I wrote the room number on.

Nurse
I was unaware that the Bridges’ are so religious.

Nun
During times like these people tend to reach out to every possibility.

Nurse
She’s in room 512 and that’s down the hall and to the left.

Nun
Thank you so much my dear.

[The two nuns step away from the front desk and walk down the hall the nurse pointed at. They walk down the hallway and turn left as instructed. Sure enough they find themselves in front of room 512. The smaller nun lifts her head revealing herself to be Gretchen.]

Gretchen
What are you going to do in there?

[If you haven’t been able to figure it out yet, the abnormally large nun is Bombtrack in disguise.]

Bombtrack
I told you to never question me about my business. Your only job is to make sure that no one interrupts me.

Gretchen
Just remember that she’s only a child.

Bombtrack
Since when do you have a conscience?

Gretchen
I just have a soft spot for children.

Bombtrack
You say “soft spot”, I say weakness. If Carey and Terrance were able to handle this same exact task then I’m sure that you can.

[Bombtrack opens the door, enters the room and gently closes the door behind him. Little Maria Collins is sound asleep in the bed as Bombtrack stands there taking a scan of the room. He walks up to the windowsill and gazes at the vast array of flowers that people have given to her as gifts. He takes two roses from a bouquet before sauntering over to Maria lying in her bed. He pulls a chair up to the side of the bed and sits down. There’s a very uneasy atmosphere in the air as Bombtrack stares down at the child with a very menacing look on his face. He smacks the girl on her forehead with the roses waking her from her slumber. She lets out a groan and rubs her forehead.]

Maria Collins
What happened? Who are you?

Bombtrack
I’m here to help you feel better sweetheart. Look I brought you some flowers.

[Bombtrack presents the flowers to Maria and her heart sinks a little at the sight of them. The two roses are bent and hardly have any pedals on them from when Bombtrack smacked her in the head with them.]

Maria
What happened to them?

Bombtrack
They don’t look very pretty do they?

Maria
They’re ugly!

Bombtrack
That’s why I thought you would enjoy them. They’re just like you.

[Maria frowns and is tearing up.]

Maria
I’m not ugly.

Bombtrack
Well those horrific burns and tacky wig beg to differ. Don’t worry, unlike these flowers, you will become beautiful again.

[That saved the tears that were coming.]

Maria
Thanks. So... what do you want to do?

Bombtrack
I thought that we could just talk. Why don’t you sit up and pass me that brush over there. Your wig is all over the place and could use some grooming.

Maria
Ok!

[She very excitedly gets up, grabs the hair brush and hands it over to Bombtrack. Maria’s young mind has realized that Bombtrack doesn’t look right wearing the habit.]

Maria
Why are you wearing that? It’s for girls.

[Bombtrack chuckles and lets out a sly smile.]

Bombtrack
This is what someone that wants to be a priest has to wear before he becomes a priest.

[Maria turns around so that Bombtrack can comb her hair.]

Maria
Why do you want to be a priest?

Bombtrack
There are a lot of really bad people out there Marian and I need to help them.

Maria
My name is Maria.

Bombtrack
Right, well there are a lot of really bad people out there.

Maria
Like that man that hurt me.

[Bombtrack is actually doing a very good job of combing Maria’s wig with gentle, soft strokes.]

Bombtrack
Yes, exactly like that man.

Maria
I hate him.

Bombtrack
Hate is such a strong word Maria.

[Bombtrack takes a whiff of Maria’s neck.]

Maria
What was that?

Bombtrack
Just soaking in your youth.

[The child doesn’t understand so she laughs.]

Maria
You’re silly.

Bombtrack
I know right?

[Bombtrack gives her a tickle, which excites him and he shows it with a sickening smile. Maria laughs that sweet innocent laugh that only a child can eject. Maria is now feeling very comfortable with this stranger.]

Marie
I’m feeling so much better.

[The child turns to face Bombtrack.]

Maria
What do you want to do now?

Bombtrack
You still look very tired my child.

Maria
This medicine makes me sleepy.

Bombtrack
I bet it does. I brought you a very special story that I wrote myself.

[Her eyes light up.]

Maria
You did?!

Bombtrack
Yes I did. So lay down back in bed and I’ll tuck you in and tell you my story. How does that sound?

[The child claps her hands in excitement.]

Maria
That sounds great!

[She slides back under the cover and Bombtrack tucks her into the bed very tightly.]

Maria
Ouch! That’s too tight.

[Bombtrack tucks the blankets deeper under the bed and then stands up to shut the lights off.]

Maria
What are you doing?!

[The child is terrified.]

Bombtrack
Setting the tone for my story; you’ve got to hear it in the dark.

Maria
I don’t want to hear a scary story.

Bombtrack
It’s not a scary story.

[She tries to struggle free from the blankets.]

Maria
These blankets are too tight.

[Bombtrack ignores her and takes a seat on the chair that’s next to her bed.]

Bombtrack
Once upon time there was a very power king.

Maria
What’s his name?

Bombtrack
Shut... I mean be quiet now Maria. The king’s name is King Midas and one day a retarded monster named Dumb Carl made King Midas very angry.

Maria
What did he do?

Bombtrack
I thought I told you to be quiet.

[Bombtrack snaps at her and the child pulls the covers up over her mouth.]

Maria
Sorry.

Bombtrack
That’s the thing, Dumb Carl didn’t even really do anything specific that made King Midas angry. Carl was just being himself and that’s all it took to make King Midas angry. So King Midas wanted to get rid of the monster once and for all, but the monster was stronger than the king gave him credit for. King Midas lost the first fight with the monster and that only made the king angrier with Dumb Carl.

Maria
Excuse me mister, but the covers are too tight.

[Bombtrack’s patience is running thin.]

Bombtrack
I’m right in the middle of this! Will you please give it a rest?!

[Maria has never been treated this way before and doesn’t know how to act. She wants to cry, but is being strong and keeping it in.]

Bombtrack
So King Midas attacked the monster when he least expected it and hurt the monster very badly. The king thought that the monster would stay away forever, but he was wrong. Dumb Carl came back and challenged King Midas to another fight. The king felt that he would definitely defeat the monster this time, but he was wrong again. The retarded monster once again beat the king, but that wasn’t all. Dumb Carl kept beating up the king and hurt the king very badly. Dumb Carl then pretended like he was the king and was giving orders to everyone.

Maria
What did King Midas do?

Bombtrack
DON’T INTERUPT!

[The little girl’s eyes begin to fill with the indigo of tears.]

Bombtrack
So King Midas pretended to be more hurt than he really was to trick the monster. King Midas surprised Dumb Carl and hurt the monster really badly. There’s one final fight for the kingdom coming up and King Midas will do anything that he has to in order to win and he doesn’t care who gets hurt in the process. Even stupid, ugly little girls like you.

[The full blown waterworks begin.]

Bombtrack
Stop your fucking whimpering.

[Maria is starting to get louder.]

Bombtrack
You’re going to be scarred and ugly for life; no one will ever love you and you’ll die alone. You’re disfigured and a little bitch.

[Maria’s crying has become so loud that Bombtrack must vacate the premises very quickly. He stands up, leans down and kisses the child on the cheek.]

Bombtrack
Let that be a lesson.

[The scene fades to black as Bombtrack leaves the child lone and crying in the dark.]

About Gene Snisky; I don't want you all to be misconstrued as to what I was trying to accomplish having Gene carry me. Firstly, I'm a proud man and if I were to become a worthless cripple I would refuse to use a wheelchair. I know what you're thinking and I'm aware that being carried by Gene Snitsky isn't glamorous, but having a retarded ogre doing whatever you tell him to do is very appealing. I now understand why RAW has that girl wipe his ass for him. Secondly, I needed to make sure that Nathan Blaster felt secure that I was injured. I shaved my head, which looks really bad ass by the way, and covered myself in a blanket playing the woe is me act. I realize that pulling the wool over Nathan Blaster's eyes isn't exactly a difficult thing to do, but I needed to make sure there wasn't any doubt that I was injured. So I waited and picked my moment. I was sick and tired of Nathan Blaster’s face so I did some remodelling. Moment seized. Many of the victories may have gone to him, but the war will belong to me.
