Priest
NEWera Rookie
[ * ]
Priest: Wow...

He shrugs, utterly speechless.

Priest: That's about all I can really say is... just... wow...

He looks off into the distance for a second, stunned by everything he's seen lately.

Priest: You really went all out for this, didn't ya? And for reasons passing understanding, there are actually people who watched that tripe and not only believed it, but called it hard-hitting awesomeness.

Priest shrugs, looking like he's just had answers demanded of him on the subject.

Priest: What? Don't look at me, I'm not one of them.

He shakes his head sadly, obviously disappointed.

Priest: I'm sorry to say it, but, I just don't care what you say. I told you a long time ago that this was just a job to me, nothing more and nothing less. I never said I wanted the belt in the first place, much less that I was desperate to keep or that now I was going all out to get it back to either reach or maintain relevance. You said that, repeatedly and the funny part is, you would have been Nostradamus on the whole, "Priest doesn't matter," thing had you just shut up and walked away from me after the last pay-per-view show.

He looks around, extending his hands out to either side of him, begging for an answer.

Priest: I mean, seriously, what was I going to do? You'd just beaten me for the third time, ended my one and only title reign here in NEW and had you chosen to go pick a fight with someone else, I would have done exactly as you said, and gone back to the bottom of the NEW food chain because my partner was too busy main eventing without me to try to do anything with me.

He drops his arms to his sides, rubbing his hands and exhaling deeply.

Priest: So now, I'm bored with you to be perfectly honest because all you ever do is have water dripping while somebody babbled inanely and it never goes anywhere. Then you cut a promo on me, wherein you say what amounts to two things over and over again. First, you tell me that I have no idea what you are capable of, which is so ludicrously retarded as to require a crash helmet, special jacket and leash because, hello, you've been here for years and many of the people here have known you for a decade, we all know exactly what you're capable of! We saw you set Nightmare on fire, which, come on, Nightmare has bad shit happen to him all the time. That doesn't make you diabolical or special, it makes you a Tuesday!

He rolls his eyes, utterly disgusted to even have to be dealing with this.

Priest: And then you always follow that up with line number two, which you just seem to be obsessed with which is, "I'm in your head!" usually followed by some sad attempt at scary, creepy or maniacal laughter.

Priest shrugs.

Priest: What is this, wishful thinking? I mean, why would you want to be? What is there to gain for you from being in my head? You already beat me non-title. You already beat me for the title and I admitted I didn't care before you did it. So, what are you gonna do, somehow manage to make me care less? Honestly, it just sounds like somehow I managed to piss you off so bad that I'm actually the one in your head and it's driving you crazy to think that somebody like me has somehow gotten under your skin.

Priest looks away, shaking his head in disgust.

Priest: And to think, the best you can do about it is act like a petulant child that just hasn't gotten enough attention and stage this fake kidnapping. So, ripping off a great Mexican star wasn't enough, you needed to rip off Bombtrack's overreaction gimmick, Jean Locque and James Stall's lying, make shit up gimmick and Kerryn Kali's creepy cameraman stalker gimmick too? Now that's scraping the bottom of the barrel of desperation even for an attention whore like you. I mean, shit that baby was obviously a shitty plastic doll and that woman didn't even look like my wife.

He nods and Alexi walks into the frame with baby Scarlett in her arms.

Priest: See, they were never in any danger. You never laid a hand on them and they aren't on 34th Street in any apartment with you. They never were and they never will be. All of that was some really godawful home movie and if anybody bought that, well, then they need professional help in an institution because they obviously cannot take care of themselves.

He shrugs almost apologetically.

Priest: You never took anything away from me except for a belt I never wanted in the first place and that some would say was never really mine to begin with. And, as far as Fear Itself goes, I'm sorry, but if anybody's going to go nuts it's going to be you because I just can't seem to make myself care enough about you to do so. The only thing I want out of that match at this point is for you to show up, pin me, pay me and then you go be someone else's problem. I mean, you do the job for me if you want to, frankly I don't give a damn which just so long as it happens and it's definitive.

He puts his arm around Alexi and just shakes his head.

Priest: Try as hard as you want to convince everyone otherwise man, but you're not a legend, you're not greatness, you're not even Psychosis. You're just a sad child crying out for attention and it's time you go masturbate somewhere else.
