**The scene opens up with Gage Padula leaning against a wall outside the Nokia center. He looks back and forth down the street. He has his gym bag slung over his shoulder. A limo pulls up and Gage watches a few ‘big’ name celebrities that were at Nokia Center climb in the car. He looks kind of angered almost at first that they didn’t recognize him. He leans forward to go to say something. He stops himself and smiles. He returns to leaning on the wall. A red pick-up truck pulls up alongside Gage and the window rolls down. It’s his friend Tucker again.**
”Hell of a match tonight kid! I told you those people love you! Did you hear that pop when you snuck your left foot right underneath the chin of Kise! Get in!”
**Gage smiles and walks over to the truck. He tosses his bag in the back and climbs in the passenger side. The truck pulls off leaving rubber at the Nokia Center. The camera watches it go off. We are then taken to a camera inside Tucker’s truck. The two men are sitting there as the conversation about the night continues.**
”Man, that’s the best match I have had in a real long time. I just put all of that shit from before behind me and just took the task at hand head on.”
”That’s all you gotta do man. You gotta focus on who you’re across from in the ring. If you let anything else get in your head, you’re going to get dropped on it. I can tell you that from experience.”
”I feel ya man. Everything just seemed to click. When I was getting hit by a move, my mind was so clear I seemed to even the fact where I knew what I wanted to do as soon as I got to my feet.”
”When your mind is clear, you can do just about anything you put your mind too. In your case, it seems like mentally you were always one step ahead of Kise. After seeing that match, I would have to say that was the case. You were always ready for anything he had to throw at you.”
”Yeah well let’s hope this mindset stays, because that’s all I ever really needed; a good head on my shoulders, you know what I am saying? I’ve always had the ability. I’ve just never really been able to game plan with it. Or prepare my body for what’s to come.”
”Man you’ve really turned your game around and quick. It doesn’t seem to long ago you were freaking out because people didn’t know who you were. Now look at you. You’re sitting here looking calm and confident. You come from a good family, you know that?”
”Yeah, yeah ,yeah. It’s actually nice to hear that for a change. Back home, all I ever heard was hey your brother this or your brother that. And living under my father’s shadow? Kill me now. And not to mention being the self-appointed punching bag to my sister.”
”Speaking about your sister, is she still on the market?”
”Yeah she is, and no you can’t date her.”
”Come on man, you know how long I have wanted to get with her and you always shut the door! Don’t you think I am a good guy!”
”Yeah I know you’re a good guy, but I would hate to have to bust your face if you’d break her heart.”
”Hahaha bust my face huh?”
”Yeah I didn’t studder did i? I said bust your face.”
”Haha one big win on a global pay-per-view and he thinks he can come beating on me? A former world champion? Do you want me to break your arm now or later on when you’re asleep?”
”Ahh just shut up and drive. Where are we going anyway? You seemed excited on the phone.”
”It’s a night to celebrate! You’re on your way to the top now! First you start off with a marquee pay-per-view outing and it’s only up from there boy! You deserve to be treated like a king!”
**Tucker sounds excited about what he planned for the recent victorious Gage. Gage seems to be a little uneasy about what Tucker has planned for them.**
**We open up to Gage Padula and Tucker Giffin sitting at a pizza place.**
”This…. This is my celebration?”
”Well yeah, what were you expecting? You won a pay-per-view match? It wasn’t even for any gold? Did you want a parade? Strippers? A hooker? I can get you the hooker. That’s not too far out there. The quality of the hooker maybe be in question.”
”No, no I don’t want a hooker. I’ll just take some pizza and we’ll call it a night.”
”Well did you think that was it? I brought someone in to see you. They’ve been going crazy since you left Canada. Close your eyes
**Gage sighs almost fed up with the games. He closes his eyes. Tucker gets up and runs off screen. He lets Gage sit there for a few minutes. Gage opens up his eyes and see Tucker isn’t sitting there anymore. He turns around and we see Tucker standing there with another guy about his age.
”JAKE! How in the hell did you get here!”
**Jake is Gage’s older brother. Jake and Tucker were friends growing up in high school. They originally got into wrestling and invited Gage to join them. Jake, however, has never left Canada and pursued wrestling in the United States. He has fame there, but he isn’t much of an American-sympathizer. Gage gets up and goes over and gives him a huge. Jake seems happy to see him but uneasy about the pizza place as he continues to look around.**
”Hey buddy. Heard about your big win tonight! Congrats!”
”It wasn’t just a win Jake. You should have seen the kid in the ring. He was doing the other guys moves. He was so ready for that guy, he myswell came to the ring as him!”
”Haha I wouldn’t say that much. I was on top of my game though. I thought you were on the road up in Canada, Jake. How did you manage to get some time off to come down here?”[/color}
”Well you know the way Dad books shows up there. He leaves us some days off every once in a while for some free time. He doesn’t want us to hate the business you know?”
”Yeah I know what you mean. Speaking of Dad, how’s everyone doing up there?”
”You know we’ve all been pretty busy. Katie, Dad, and I on the road for about the last 11 weeks. Mom’s been a wreck since you left.”
**Gage’s glow from his face goes away. He kind of looks away and sucks it up a little and continues to speak.**
”I haven’t had much time to make it home since I left. I’ve been meaning too. I’ve just been here and NEW has me booked for every show. They say at the next TV event I am going to get a TV title shot!”
”Hey man, I am not telling you, you have to go home. I just thought you would like to know. How they treating you down here? We got your letter about a month ago and you seemed real fed up with what they were giving you? You should’ve came home.”
”Oh no, it’s all good now. NEW and I have smoothed a lot of things over. It was just tough going from doing main event after main event with you in dad’s promotion to you know dark matches and sometimes being appointed the head of the job-squad.”
”Yeah well I hate to hear that. Dad’s promotion isn’t the same without you. You and I used to be carry everyone on that card, now it’s just me killing it every night. What are your feelings about coming back?”
”You know, I knew it was too good to be true to see your ugly face. I knew you had some other motive, coming the whole way down from Canada. You’re kidding me, right? I bet you didn’t even want to see me right? You just can’t let go of the fact you never got a call from any American promotions, and you’re still in dad’s fed being pushed to the moon in back. Tucker, did you know that’s why he was coming here?”
”No man. He called me and said he really missed you and wan—“
”Let’s get something straight Gage. I could have came to this country whenever the hell I wanted. I wrestle in dad’s promotion because I love to wrestle. I don’t need all of this high class T.V. deals, I don’t need to headline pay-per-views. Fuck, these Americans don’t even know wrestling. I’ve caught some of their shows, Dumbface? Seriously? If that’s wrestling, than please, let me get out now while I still have some pride.”
”You’re a real piece of work, you know that? You can take your cock-sucking attitude back to Canada. I don’t need to hear this. I just came off the biggest win in my career and you’re going to come down and try to bring me down? And on top of that, put down some of my new friends? Get the hell out of here before I pop you in the mouth.”
**Gage and Jake come face-to-face. Both seem really heated. Tucker grabs Jake by the shoulders and pulls him back and takes him out the door. Gage sits down at the table and just stairs at the food. Tucker comes back in.**
”Man, I really didn’t know that’s what he wanted to come here for. I am sorry.”
”I believe you man. You know, I just wanted tonight to be good. I got over all that drama shit not too long ago, now he’s going to come in here and try to do this? He’s something else.”
”You can say that again. Hey do you really have a TV title shot at the next show?”
”Yeah man, Blaine called me in his office during the pre-show and he laid it on the line for me. A victory against Kise would get me my first title shot here in NEW.”
”Well fuck. Now, that deserves a celebration. Let me get you a hooker.”
”Haha, no man really. I don’t need a hooker. I like the mindset I am in now. I don’t have any problems. It’s just me you know? I don’t worry about anyone else. I got you to talk to when I need too. I don’t have any girls blowing up my phone at night. And now, I know not to go home or I am going to be in for the worst guilt trip in my entire life.”
”Yeah I don’t blame you at all there man. You need to keep your eyes on the prize. All you need is your best bud and some pizza.”
”I am not even feeling this pizza anymore. Jake has me all pissed off. Let’s get out of here.”
**Gage stands up and walks out of the pizza shop. Tucker pulls out his wallet hurriedly and drops some money on the table. He grabs his jacket and jogs out the door after Gage.**
(end scene)
