I'd be disappointed if we sold him, he's been superb since turning down Spartak Moscow and City in January.

We need him to stay or we'll be relying on players like El Zhar and Babel...who should both be sold.

Deffo.

He'll never be a guaranteed first-choice, but he's a top fringe player.

Besiktas are lining up a triple raid on the Premier League for Roman Pavlyuchenko, Yossi Benayoun and Louis Saha.

The Istanbul club's boss Mustafa Denizli is determined to strengthen his attacking options for next season's Champions League campaign after winning the Turkish Super League for the first time in six years.

His list of targets include 27-year-old Russia striker Roman Pavlyuchenko, who Tottenham Hotspur are prepared to offload after just one season in England. The former Spartak Moscow player has also been linked to Stuttgart and Roma.

An alternative for Besiktas would be Everton's former Manchester United marksman Louis Saha.

And Denizli will also test the water for Liverpool's Yossi Benayoun, the 29-year-old winger who has also been linked to Barcelona.

Besiktas will also battle Fulham, Aston Villa, Everton and West Ham United for Eidur Gudjohnsen, the versatile former Chelsea player who looks set to leave Barcelona this summer.

Besiktas can piss off. He won't be signing for those jokers. Barcelona would've been a different story though had they kept up their interest. But he'd have got even less playing time there than here.
COME ON RAFA....GIVE LUCAS THE RED CARD!! Posted Image

Yossi Benayoun will add another year on to his Liverpool contract after being rewarded for an excellent season at Anfield last year.

The 29 year old Israeli had an impressive finish to the season, more than taking up the slack after Robbie Keane left the club. Talks have been ongoing and the player will receive an extra year on to his Liverpool contract which will take him through to the summer of 2012.

Rafa has also moved to offer three year contracts to midfielder Jay Spearing and right back Stephen Darby, both of whom saw action for Liverpool in the Champions League last season.

Benitez said:

“We had to guarantee the future of the club first and then afterwards if you can improve then you must try to do so.

“This meant that the first thing we had to do this summer was to guarantee the futures of some of the players who are already here and we are happy that we have been able to do this in so many cases.”
