For the listed judges - what did you find the most useful aspect of your 'training' to becoming a judge? Writing? Practice judging? Official training/seminars?

For me there isnt the one thing.

Each allows you to measure your understanding and test yourself.

I think the practice judging is the nearest to putting yourself into a 'test' situation as you dont control the time and have the official judges marks and placings to compare with your own, although the do not need to be the same.

All the topics are valuable and I would include watching or participating in training but practice judging is really good as it makes the situation 'real' and there is the time element to contend with as well.
However, I find organising practice judging harder than I thought it would be so I don't get to do it as often as I would like.
