Ark kicked open the door at long last with an arrogant air. A candle was burning away with a magical flame, upon the only thing existing in the room, which was a desk with a single drawer. the walls were perfectly smooth, no doors or windows, save for the side Ark was standing on. The desk and the candle upon it were perfectly shaped, no melted wax, no scratch marks, as if they had been put there just that night. He cautiously reached towards the drawer, and pulled it open, expecting the worst. Nothing happened, he hung there with his arm over his face for a good minute before looking down. Inside was an old, tattered, worn book, a journal of some kind, starkly contrasting it's container. He reached for it and opened it delicately. The pages were faded and dry, the ink nearly illedgible. He flipped through it very quickly, until a page containing a few very familiar words. 'ARK' and 'Riley' were scratched very quickly at the top with a quill, it seemed very recent, within three months, perhaps, the rest appeared almost a century, or two, old. The sun began to break over the hills of Ruan, light poured into the room. Ark placed the book very carefully into his satchel of belongings, which wasn't much. There was, however, a towel within it, which he hoped would keep the book safe from all the jumping he was bound to do. It was a new day, and the un-uniformed militia crawled slowly west, out of Ruan. At the front was Sieg, Ark hung around the back. The sun was shining, a few rifles glistened in the sun, not as many as were soaked by rain those nights before, however. Riotus had decided to travel with them, bringing along a wagon, which, though ancient, was in astoundingly good shape. It was loaded with books, powder, and rifles. Many of the men had swapped rifles out for spears or swords. Conserve the ammunition for when the black-clothed gang appeared again, they decided. A lot of thoughts weighed heavily on Sieg. Faces flashed in and out of his mind. His own body seemed distant and unfamiliar, as he trudged forward, and ever westward. Their destination was a shrine of the dragons. Riotus said that the entry point to the Ether could be found there. The grass was blackened near the road, the Mana-Beast had most definately been here. |

"That was beautiful" Sam said. "I don't know why the world put you through so much. You've got so many talents and are a wonderful person Once we're together, everything will finally be set right for us. No more undead, no more troubles." Sam sighed happily and felt as if his troubles had all but gone away. -------------- Furidan was still awake by the time it was morning. He was looking and muttering in Dwarvishat the map. He marked where he was going to go. He then heard a horse come near. He then went to wake Sasha. "Hey, your sister's here with the prince" Furidan said. "It looks like they're very happy together. Come on, we better get ready." Furidan then steppedout of the tent waiting for the two to arrive. |

Meg blushed when he complimented her singing and said "thank you" in a soft voice. She sighed happily too, "I look forward to that." For the first time in a long time, her soul actually felt free of its cage. she fell into a light slumber and dreamed of their happy future. ----- Sasha woke up and rubbed her eyes, "Sister here? good." She yawned and stretched, "Thank Mr. Furdian." She got up and saw them coming up on her horse, then smiled as she caught part of her sister's dream. Sister, it's time to get up. She didn't care who else heard her thought to Meg; she didn't know Sam was a telepath. Meg opened her eyes and stretched. A smile drew itself on her face and she gave Sam's hand a gentle squeeze to let him know she was up. She yawned and then greeted everyone "Good morning all." "Sister, sister come down hug Sasha!" Meg laughed, "you missed me that badly? I highly doubt it, you're always telling me how much of a pain i am." "Sasha not miss sister bad, Sasha want hug from sister." After Sam got off Meg got off as well. Sasha ran to her and jumped, giving her a flying hug and knocking Meg over completely. "Whoa Sasha, not so hard...i'm almost out of manna, i'm not as strong as i usually am." "Oh...Sasha sorry." "It's alright Sasha. This is Sam, the prince of all human lands." She smiled as she introduced Sam to Sasha. this was going to be fun. ------ (sorry about not posting a bio for Sasha earlier, i'll post it here.) Name: Sasha Nichole Rainmaker Age: 8 Gender: female Weapon: bow & arrows, can control animals with telepathy Magic: none that she knows of, except for her telepathy Job: none, she's too young Family: Older sister, Meg Bio: is the youngest of the family and has been pampered since birth because of her abnormal physical condition. has a speech impairment, but otherwise is quite intelligent for someone her age. Will try to impress someone by trying to speak in the best grammar she can muster, though it takes a while to form scentences. At Beginning: (no longer pertinant) |

Furidan than looked up at Sam. "I had a feeling I'd see you again. Did you see another Dwarf go by" Furidan asked. "Yes, someone called Brann. You know him" Sam asked. "Yes, he's my brother. Him escaping will greatly take my time off for my journey" Furidan said. He then eyed Sam and Meg carefully. "What are you two doing?" Sam forgot that he was still holding Meg's hand and he quickly let go. "Uh, nothing" Sam said. "I'm glad you killed those orcs back there. Their potion helped me save Meg here, and I'm glad they did." "Don't give me all the credit" Furidan said. "Sasha here killed one with her bow. She has some skill for someone her age. Well, it's best we move on. Lots of dangers await us." |

Meg hadn't reacted to the dwarf asking what the two of them were doing, but blushed heavily at Sam's comment about saving her, "Yes, thanks... i daresay i wouldn't be here if it wasn't for Sam and that nasty liquid." Meg then looked at Sasha carefully, "You shot one?" "yep." "When did you learn how to shoot a bow?" "Friend from second home teach Sasha before Sasha left with sister come back Ruan." "Ah, your hunting friend?" "Uh huh!" She giggled, "Orcs no match for us!" Meg smiled again and hugged her sister, "Darn right they're not, sis." She stood up and noticed only three horses. "Sasha i thought you said my horse had ran here and you were holding it for me?" Sasha looked around, "oops. Sasha sorry, Sasha forget tie horse." Meg nodded. a slight blush came to her face at the thought of riding with Sam again, "It's alright, Sasha." |

Axis was sitting at a table staring into space when Deph came down the stairs. "Have you decided yet?" she asked him. He shrugged, still facing the window, remembering the unsuccessful endeavour of the previous night. "I asked Zekat where it was. He didn't answer me, though. Apparently he's going there anyway." He failed to notice his sister's incredulous reaction. "Why would you need to ask him?" she said, sounding slightly exasperated. "I've been there! I know where it is!" Axis turned to look at her now. "You do, do you?" he said. "Well, I don't. How about you tell me?" Deph shut her eyes and tried to remember the layout of the little map she used to have. "The entrance is... well, you know near Septra, there's a shrine to the Dragon God? It's somewhere around there..." The mercenary finally gave in, having run out of excuses. "Oh... all right then..." He sighed. "Zekat's already gone. I don't think he'd let me or you go with him. He barely knows me, and he hasn't even met you. So... how about we just follow at a safe distance?" She blinked. "But you said he'd already left..." "Can you run?" Axis asked quietly. Deph was confused. "Um... yes?" "Then that's settled." Axis picked up his spear, which was propped against the table. "I hope you can run fast, that's all." |

Ark bit into an apple thoughtfully. They were having problems moving up the steep mountain paths, but their destination had been said to be very close. The rocks here were not just scorched black, but out of boredom, some of the younger men had been throwing them about, at which they'd break apart into a black cloud. Two figures moved in the distance, on the path behind them. They'd catch up by sunset, he figured. The horse and wagon were being pulled to the top of a nearby ledge, and Ark was stuck on the more boring end of it. He shrugged and looked to the sky. He was in the middle of a lot of interesting things, and he was completely invisible among them. |

Axis ran. Every so often, he'd look back just to check whether his sister was still there. It was weird - her feet hardly made a sound on the paths. And of course, she didn't speak much. Then again, neither did he. He squinted at the figures ahead and came to a halt. Deph did the same. "They're starting to set up camp for the night," he said shortly, more because he was out of breath than annoyance." "...I think we should try to catch up with them," Deph said. She sounded slightly hoarse. Axis nodded. "But we can at least go a bit slower. They'll be done by sunset, and by then we'll be with them." They continued down the path, walking at a steady pace. "Say..." Axis said after a while. "Why do you want to go to the Ether wossname?" Deph inclined her head. "You'll find out pretty soon," she said after a moment of thought. She felt that this was a good time to confess something, when nobody would be listening in. "Hey... you know, weren't you in Ruan for a while?" "Yeah. Why?" "Erm... did you ever see this black thing there?" Deph said cautiously. "Like, made of fire?" Axis stopped again, silent. "Well... because if you did..." Deph took a deep breath. "I cast that." |

I think now would be a fitting time for the chronicler to mention that, being a thief and an eavesdropper, Ark Riley has obtained exceptional hearing for a human. As thus, he overheard with some difficulty what had just been said, as Axis and Depth were near the base of the mountain. It was a statement which had caused him to nearly choke on the half-consumed apple. He hadn't been in the town, but he was near it, and he saw the thing. It was indeed... Evil. Something humans should not be allowed to touch, that was what he felt from it. He felt himself reaching for his daggers, the owner of the voice was female, younger than the other voice. If someone like that had that kind of power... He didn't want to think about it. The sun was slowly making it's way down. |

The four then made their way closer to the Kalgoure border, each with their minds on different things. Sam's on spending time with Meg, and Furidan's on destroying the land. Sam wanted to make this journey more enjoyable than it was, so he telepathically spoke to Meg and held her hand for a while. He didn't care if Sasha found out they were in love. Furidan wasn't paying much attention. Furidan stopped once they reached the gate. The gate was broken down and the gatekeeper had an arrow through his chest. "Orcs must have done this" Furidan. "The Centuar rarely venture out of their lands. Come on, let's go." Furidan then led the way into Kalgoure and Sam, Meg, and Sasha followed. |

Meg held Sam's hand as well and spoke telepathically in return. she could feel Sasha following every moment of their conversation, and she didn't care either. by now she had found out about the proposal of meeting the King and being a queen when Sam became King. Sasha smiled to herself - her sister was finally happy. That was all that really mattered to her at the moment, so she didn't say or do anything to ruin it for them. Sasha's mind was wondering about when she came to the gate with them. She looked at the gatekeeper and looked into his mind to see the last image and thought he had. she then projected her thoughts into everyone's mind, Yeah...it was orcs. apparently the three we killed earlier were the ones that did this...That liquid was stolen from the gatekeeper, though i don't know what it was supposed to do. supposedly a protection liquid of some sort. i can't make out his last image past three faces, but there was another figure there... She gave them the image and thought so they could think up something. the last thought was "HOLY SHIT, STAMPEDE!" and the last image was one of three orcs staring at him as he lay on the ground with wicked looks on their faces. |

Axis paused for a moment, then shrugged. "Oh." Deph was surprised that there hadn't been a more pronounced reaction. "Do you even know what it's called?" she asked him. "Not really," he admitted. "That old man what came in afterwards, he talked about it a bit, but I wasn't paying a lot of attention." He looked puzzled. "Why, was I meant to?" Deph looked away. "No, not really," she said. She remembered what he'd been like about her books. Probably better if he didn't understand, she thought. "So..." Axis continued walking up the mountain path. "Come on, we really need to be at their campsite before dusk," he called behind him. "I mean, you never know what's hiding around these parts, right?" Deph followed him. |

"Well Dwarf, I hope you can rid the world of those beasts" Sam said. "Now where's this manna pool?" "It's in a small oasis not too far from here" Furidan said. "The only one in the badlands part of this land. Just go straight ahead for about half a day. I'm going to go to the highest mountain is. It's in the west and it overlooks the entire continent. There's a stone tablet that I place the sphere on. That will call the Gods to destroy this land. If everything goes as planned, we should be back in sixty days." "What happens to the land after your Gods come" Sam asked. "Stories say every volcano on the land will erupt, massive thunderstorms will damage the ground, and lastly the land will sink to the bottom of the world" Furidan said. "How do you plan to escape" Sam asked. "Well, only the mountain tops will be above the surface, and gryphons sense when their master is in danger and he will come to rescue us" Furidan said. "Though, I'm not sure if he would arrive in time." "I'll send a ship out to patrol the seas nearby and tell them to pick you up" Sam said. "All right" Furidan said. "We'll be off. Farewell and be on the watch for orcs." Furidan then went off, leaving Sasha behind. Sam then looked at Sasha who was hesitating to leave. "Well Sasha, it's time for you to say good-bye for now." |

Sasha was, indeed, hesitant. She looked over at Meg and frowned, "Sasha trust Mr. Sam?" "Of course, Sasha. I... I trust him with my life." "Oh. Okay." Sasha came over and hugged both of them tightly, kissing her sister's cheek "Sasha miss Sister." "I'll miss you too. hurry along, you don't want to be left behind." "Okay. Mr. Sam... Sasha glad Sasha met Mr. Sam. Mr. Sam take good care Sister, please." She smiled a very childish smile and then her horse took off in Furdian's direction, leaving Meg and Sam alone. ----- Meg had blushed when she said she trusted Sam with her life, but it was true. He had saved her twice already, and she would do the same for him if the opportunity arose. She felt her head spinning in all sorts of different directions as her manna pool ran dangerously close to the point at which she would pass out. She put her hand toward the ground and a chunk of it came up to meet it, and she drew what little manna there was in it out. she let it crumble in her hands and did it many times over until she was sure she wasn't going to pass out. She then made the dirt on her hand fly off so it was clean and sat still, waiting for Sam to make the first move. She wanted nothing else but to be with him like this, and perhaps some sleep and some food with him would be even better. In their rush to get out they hadn't taken any food with them. She smiled and leaned back slightly, resting her head on his chest and smiled - she enjoyed this very much, even if her stomach was turning itself in knots because of the lack of food. "I love you, Sam." ----------- Sasha catches up to Furdian very quickly. She looks at him with a worried look in her eyes, "Mr. Furdian not get hurt when gods kill land? mountain near tablet?" She looked at the horse's back, "Will horsey go home safe? Sasha said horsey go back home after done carying Sasha... Sasha not know how ride by Sasha self, horsey do riding by self. Sasha ask nicely and horsey go with Mr. Furdian. Sasha no want horsey die." The horse raised its head as high as it could go and started cantering - a mix between a trot and a walk. The horse is showing off??? whoa, never saw that one comeing. |

Lightning crashed across the blackened sky. Sieg looked ahead, the ground was ripped apart, and it continued over the next ledge, he assumed. The small fire burned slowly, seeming pathetic compared to the darkness around it. They were close, they could feel it. Evil flowed out of every crack in every rock, an invisible force, a feeling, it was everywhere. It made him sick. His hand tightened around the barrel of his rifle, he found himself again praying to the Eldrenian god, something he very rarely did, and for the second time it was to wish for Meg and Sasha's safety. "Issvyar... Please give me strength, and wisdom to see beyond what lies ahead." A word sounded in his mind, a word he had never heard before, and had been nearly forgotten in all of Derun. Nighthawk. He did not sleep that night, nor had he the previous. He felt no fatigue, nor any hunger. He had too much to think about. |

"Just over this hill now... look, their camp is down there." Axis pointed. A few figures and tents could be made out against the lightning-torn sky. "It's gonna be morning soon. If we plan to keep on following them, we'd better go talk to Zekat pretty quickly." Deph nodded. She wasn't in the mood to say anything. The two of them made their way down. |

Ark waved and hailed the two as they came into clear sight. "Oi, merc! Sieg is at the front, you're looking for him, right?" he yelled, to a grunt on Reyfer's part. He laughed to himself, pulling his collar back into place. "We're going to see something interesting, that's for sure." The way he said interest struck a strange emotion in anyone he spoke to, and Reyfer was no different. "Also, don't die." he added, at last. "You've got an aura about you, and we're about to get caught up in the grand current of Fate. Don't die." |

Axis nodded curtly to Riley and continued walking through the small camp, Deph still trailing behind. "Why didn't you answer him, bro?" she asked. "Why? 'Cause he's a jerk, that's why," he muttered, not looking at her. "Oh yeah, he waltzes into Ruan, Zekat over his shoulder - come to think, he could've been lying when he said he hadn't mugged the guy - oh, and then he goes around acting like he owns the place. I mean, you'd think he'd get tired of talking all the time, intruding on people's conversations, but no..." He then lapsed into silence again, as if determined to proved that he was better than that thief. Deph knew better than to interrupt, but privately she thought that the thief and the Axis that she remembered from her childhood were more than similar to each other. Ahead of them was a lone figure, silhouetted against the lightning. It was clutching a rifle. Axis called out to it as they approached. "Hey, Zekat!" he yelled. "Did ya miss me?" |

Sieg turned around, after staring hard into the distance. His eyes were red from lack of sleep, but he managed to look cheerful. In truth, he was uneasy, there was something that wasn't right, and it was close. "Hey! I was wondering where you'd skulked off to. Riotus says the Dragon's Shrine is fairly close, we'll be there in about an hour, after we sleep, of course. How've you been?" He added, for courtesy. Ark shuffled his way to the wagon and peered in. There was nothing moving within, save for a gently swaying lantern. It was filled to all possible comprehension with books, many of which had research papers stuck inside for reference. He suddenly remembered the book he had in his own possession, and carefully unwrapped it from it's towel, and laid it tenderly on the desk which had been crammed inside for Riotus' use. He flipped slowly to where 'ARK Riley' had been scrawled at the top, and read down. The first date on the page was marked almost thirty years ago. "April 27th, 1034. Project ARK has been moving very well, the first test models have been created without failure, though flaws in their design are evident. We have yet to manage to create one with the capability for language, Common or Eldrenian, but we have gotten very close. Their intelligence has shown dramatic increases over the last decade's worth of research, the ones we have now can execute the most base orders of the average soldier with exceptional accuracy. An occasional mistake will occur, a test will malfunction and escape into the outside world, or it will be created entirely ineffective for use. The causes of this are yet unknown, more research is needed. Give us ten years, and we will be capable of speech, twenty, capable of human intelligence, thirty... Perhaps by then thought, personality, all mimicing the soul with which they were created will be possible..." Ark shook his head, and closed it again. Project ARK... ARK was one of the words from the earliest memory he had. He didn't know what name was given to him at birth, either. From his memories, he named himself Ark Riley, but what of this book? Perhaps later... It was getting late, and tommorow, Fate's plans will be set in stone, irreversible by human hands. |

"I know, and I love you too" Sam said. "I'm happy you're better. Now we can finally rebuild where we left off. But we must hurry to get back to Raun before we die of starvation. After we rest up there, I'll escort you back to my Kingdom. It's a short journey, a week at the maximum. Then we can stay at my father's castle for as long as you want to." Sam then told the horse to go back and it ran off in tremendous speed. It seemed to know that Sam and Meg weren't in the best of shape. --------------- Furidan sighed at Sasha's question. "Well, when I go to call to the Gods, I'll be speaking in ancient Dwarvish" Furidan said. "I'll tell them exactly what to do and they'll listen, since I'm the real King. Illias is only acting as a temperary King. I'll ask the Gods to protect the horses as well as us." |

Meg smiled at that thought - staying at the castle with the king...with Sam. She knew she wasn't completely better, she had enough manna to keep herself alive for the trip back home and -not- pass out and a little left to fend off anything that needed fending off. That manna pool didn't seem too happy with her being there, and wouldn't give her much manna willingly... ... and Meg knew better than to force manna out of living things. In order for her to be 100% better, she'd need to spend a night in the tree. She started feeling her toes tingling and her eyes went wide. that was the first sign of manna conservation, and it meant that in two days or so if Sam ran his fingers though her hair most of it would come with him. She thanked the gods she still had two days left - if the horse kept up this pace they'd get home in a day or so, just in time for dinner...and when Sam went to bed, Meg would sneak out and sleep in the tree. She didn't know why she was so dependent upon it, or how to get that kind of manna directly from nature yet... she would have to ask it later on. in the meantime she took Sam's hand and held it in her own - hers was a bit smaller than his. She looked their hands over and marveled how they looked next to each other, how her hand felt with his holding it. She smiled and thought to herself, They fit like a glove. Perfectly. they traveled for a day and soon they saw Ruan come up over the horizon. "Look Sam, we're back!" She would have turned and hugged him if she hadn't been sitting facing forward on a moving horse. ------ Sasha smiled at hearing Furdian say that. She wanted to sound somewhat normal, and thus spoke slowly, "Y-you a-a-are a very nice p-p-person. I-I like y-y-you, y-you c-c-care ab-bout e-eve-erythi-ing a-as m-m-much a-as I-I do. C-c-can I-I c-c-call y-y-you d-d-dad?" The horse started walking normally when it figured out it would live and neighed at Sasha's words as if to say "what do you mean, 'can you call him dad'?" Sasha laughed a bit at the horse's actions and waited for Furdian to respond. |

"Oh, I'm fine. Y'know, I wouldn't have decided to tag along, except..." He looked behind him. Deph was standing nervously a few feet away. "Hey, come over here, Deph!" he called. She did this reluctantly. "This's Deph," he told Zekat. "You know I asked you about this odd-looking girl a little while ago... Seems I found her eventually. She's my sister." He turned to look at her again. "Say hi to Mr Zekat, Deph." She inclined her head. "Pleased to meet you," she muttered. Axis shrugged. "Anyway, she wanted to go to this Ether place... And I heard you were going there as well. What say we go with you?" |

Sieg nodded, and greeted Deph. "Hello, nice to meet you too. I must say, it'd be nice to have someone along who isn't going to call me 'Commander' all the time. Aah, but for now, you should get some rest, we'll be there early tommorow." He finally decided to give his legs some rest and found a place to sit down. He couldn't sleep, his body was itching with anticipation, he could feel something ahead. He knew it, Fate had called him here. --------------------- Chapter 2 -- Dragonic Flames The sky was still dark, even though it was still before noon. The earth here was even more torn and blackened, just one more ridge... Just one more... The militia moved now, a map clutched firmly in Sieg's hand, his rifle in the other. The time was now, and he was ready. He could see small sparks of the dark fire flickering off in the distance, it was here, or something else like it. Just a few more steps and he could see, just a little more and... There! What lay before was a chasm in the mountains, a great fissure, but with an unnaturally smooth floor. In the center was a small building, with a dragon statue perched upon it, vigilantly guarded. The blackened scars in the earth ran towards it, as if some astral beast had been swiping at it... However... In a large circle around the shrine, the ground was completely untouched, as it was ages ago. It was surrounded by a field of some sort, a barrier to ward off evil. The dark figure, that moved like fire, was there, slamming itself against the field, creating large ripples in an unseeable wall, which distorted the land behind it. It was here! The black wind had become a horrible maelstrom, inevitably pulling this small band closer and closer. Sieg slid down the slope, and readied his rifle. He could feel mana being pulled from his Godhand already, but that mattered not. He was ready, and he wasn't going to hesitate. A militia, a mercenary and his sister, and a thief named Ark followed him down. Ark himself would say that the place was a very interesting place for a battle, though he had no time for words now. (Whee, I'll let Pyt start the fight, too lazy right now) |

"Finally" Sam said. He was happy to be back. He led his horse to the stables, and quickly got off and then helped Meg get off. "Be sure this horse gets well cared for." Sam then escorted Meg to the inn, where his bodyguards greeted him "Prince, I was worried" one said. "Just relax, I'm fine" Sam said. "I'm no longer in need of your services. I'm ready to move on, and you two can apply for the army. I'll put in a good word for you. Here's some money to help you out." Sam handed some gold to the guards, who thanked him and were on their way. "Now, how about a nice breakfast alone in the best room? Then after that we can get some sleep and then be off to the castle." ---------------- Furidan thought for a moment. "Well, I've never been a father, so that would take sometime to adjust to" Furidan said. "We Dwarves perfer to be called by our first name, but I suppose you can call me thatif you wish." Furidan then noticed something moving in the distance. "Centuars. Better watch out for when they come." |

Meg blushed and smiled at him, "That sounds very good right now." The tingling was now almost to her knees and slowly climbing. pretty soon she'd have trouble walking on her own. She silently cursed herself and took two breakfast plates, one for herself and one for Sam. She loaded hers with a little of everything, and that made a platefull. She put what Sam wanted on his plate and then handed it to him - She'd need her other hand to steady herself against a wall. As they walked down the hall toward the room Sam had picked out she stumbled and almost fell - the tingling was now a little above her knees. She did her best to hide her thoughts from everyone, though a few words crept out: Damn... ... knees... ... tingling... ----- Sasha nodded and smiled at Furdian, "Ok dad. Sasha thank dad." She then drew her bow and notched an arrow on it, ready to take on the centaur. She thought to herself, This will be fun, the second battle i've gotten myself involved in. I just pray one of the gods will guide my aim, I can't afford to waste many arrows. |

"Look! Over there!" Deph followed her brother's pointing finger. Below them was the black creature of wind and fire, now attempting to break through the sacred barrier. And below THAT was the Dragon God Shrine, as pristine as it had been 14 years ago. I hope we can keep things that way, she thought. Aloud, she asked, "How did you managed to keep it at bay when it came to Ruan?" Axis tried to recall that fateful night. "Magic," he said finally. "There was this girl, Meg something-or-other... wait, you met her, didn't you? She sort of buried it. Don't ask me how. Hey -" He'd had an idea. "Couldn't you do something to it? I mean, you said you'd cast it..." Deph shook her head. "Sort of - I just called it," she said flatly. "I don't have any control over it once it enters the physical plane. And besides, I'm completely out of..." A memory suddenly flashed up in front of her eyes, something her master had taught her. Yes! That'd be a way to circumvent... but first, she needed... "Bro," she said quickly, "is there anything, anything still living around here like a plant or something which nobody would miss?" But Axis was busy readying his longbow and quiver. "Later, Deph," he said. |
