Has anyone been in these? I've been in the big one of 2004, or was it 2003? I can't stand them. I also think they show how dependant on technology we have become.

He just kept talking in one long incredibly unbroken sentence moving from topic to topic so that no one had a chance to interrupt. It was really quite hypnotic. - Captain Picard

I've been in too many of them. I can recall last year's. The power was out for so long that I was listening to music and trying to sleep for a while.

They just happen in the middle of the important things we use electricity for.

I think there was one in 2003 when the whole east coast was out. I hate when the power goes out. I can't play video games unless it's hooked up to a generator unless I play somthing portable.

I remember one last year, lasted for about an hour. I couldn't play no video games either... Also, I experinced one while I was visiting my parent's home country, I also experienced a Blackout.

"Give Us Hope" introduction sequence (SOUNDS OF A BETTER WORLD)

Of all the feelings that a young person can have, there is one that makes life seem desolate... empty...
And sometimes not even worth living... When it is not there: "Hope"
Hope for the future.... Hope to be loved... Hope to be heard...
When children are without hope, they are robbed of one of the most defining parts of their childhood...
We must never underestimate the power of giving hope to a child...

True, very true...

I remember last hurricane season. It was Iven that hit us I beleive only with just the tropical storm winds. But the whole city was without power, just for a few hours though. And the bad thing is that this was in the night. We actually went driving on the streets with no street lights working. It was really scary.

Yea! That's what I was talking about.. I remember at the end of the day in school there was an announcement that me might not have school the next day or something. That and at my house, the wind is bad enough.. but it was weird hearing the house jitter from it.. O_O

I hate blackouts. Back in early February, there was this ice storm we had during the night and in the early morning that caused the power lines to freeze. All power was lost in the neighborhood, and nothing could be done about it. So for 12 hours, my family and I had to sit around in the house, which had grown extremely cold, possibly colder than the outside temperature of 28 degrees F.
